Chapter 1147: Fearsome and Correct Evolution Path

Wu Fengzi? The very name is eerie, carrying a terrifying power. Back then, he dared to fight Li to the death, a battle that lasted eight hundred rounds—it was truly horrifying.

And they were actually seeing his true form here?

Old Gu’s whispered words made Chu Feng’s pores open, as if cold air was rushing in, chilling him to the bone. This information was terrifying.

The Northeast Tiger, with his red lips and white teeth, shuddered, almost wanting to turn and flee. In his agitation, his large donkey ears even appeared, and he stammered when he spoke.

“Old Gu, don’t scare us like that. It’s hard to say if Wu Fengzi is alive or dead, or where he’s in seclusion. How could he possibly be in your elder brother’s ‘backyard’?”

Old Gu trembled inside, his scalp stiff. He said, “I wish it wasn’t him too, but it truly is. I’ll never forget that wicked and insane appearance. We’ll most likely die here!”

On the island, electromagnetic storms raged terrifyingly, creating a doomsday-like scene. Added to that was a downpour of bloody rain, and the strange, horrifying sight of ancient Kunpengs and Dragon Sparrows, their carcasses either sprawled or suspended in the void.

Wu Fengzi was completely different from what Chu Feng had imagined.

In his earlier understanding, this figure should have been an old man, having lived for countless ages, crazed but domineering.

However, what he saw now was a complete subversion of his expectations.

If he were to stand, he would be at least 1.95 meters tall. His bronzed, glistening physique was incredibly masculine, with powerful, dominant muscles.

He looked to be in his early thirties at most, with a chiseled face, sharp features, sword-like eyebrows extending to his temples, and a bronzed complexion.

The man sat cross-legged in the void, eyes closed, three feet off the ground. His upper body was bare and rugged, exuding a wild aura.

Especially below him, the pile of scriptures was eerily sinister. The flames emanating from them carried symbols of the Great Dao, appearing to support him as he sat suspended in mid-air.

Young and full of vibrant energy, combined with domineering, oppressive, sinister, handsome, dangerous, terrifying, and chilling—this series of words encapsulated the most direct impression he gave.

“Old Gu, can we escape?” the Northeast Tiger whispered. When facing such a formidable opponent, there was no room for hesitation; only a swift retreat made sense.

Unless Li were reborn, how many in this era would dare to confront him directly? With Wu Fengzi alive, there were few who could stand against him; indeed, very few beings would dare to challenge him.

“We can’t leave. That madman is sitting on the island. Even if the temporal fragments obscure our presence, he most likely sensed us long ago,” Old Gu said, wiping cold sweat, a hint of despair in his voice.

Of all the people to encounter, it had to be a lunatic!

“He’s in seclusion, his eyes are closed. He shouldn’t have noticed, right?” the Northeast Tiger asked, doubtful.

Old Gu, frustrated, replied, “At that level, even in seclusion, one can perceive everything. Even if he were in a deep sleep, his consciousness would sense any external object approaching. Otherwise, how could he be called a Venerable?”

The Northeast Tiger regretted their rash intrusion, a chill running down his spine. Still, he wouldn’t give up, saying, “Isn’t this your elder brother’s backyard? Didn’t you say outsiders couldn’t find it at all? This is too unreliable.”

Old Gu sighed, “Yes, others absolutely cannot find this place or the spatial node. This is a sealed, private secret realm. But when you encounter Wu Fengzi, there’s nothing you can do. His cultivation is profound; if he were to diligently search this area, he could certainly sense and open it.”

As Old Gu recalled Li’s past battle with Wu Fengzi, and now saw Wu Fengzi in seclusion here, his head ached. This was clearly a targeted move.

Wu Fengzi had most likely set his sights on their lineage. This was clearly an act of taking over territory, harvesting his elder brother’s private garden.

“Few in this world can restrain him now. Seeing this sight, I feel truly stifled. If only my elder brother were alive!” Old Gu said, indignant.

This treasured land, capable of defying fate and serving as a supreme place of creation, had been seized by their adversary.

“Old Gu, don’t panic. I see something wrong with Wu Fengzi; that’s not his true form.” Chu Feng’s eyes transformed into two golden symbols, clearly discerning the truth with his Fiery Golden Eyes.

“Huh?!” Old Gu was startled. Was there a difference?

Aside from Wu Fengzi and his elder brother, who else could enter this island?

He had rushed here today because he believed Chu Feng’s jar and the abundant soul-meat within it could offer protection, allowing them to penetrate the temporal fragments surrounding the area.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have gone to such lengths to find this place.

“I’m certain that’s an incarnation of the Dao, not his true body.” The more Chu Feng stared, the more convinced he became that it was definitely not a physical body.

Then, Chu Feng told Old Gu that the burning scriptures were actually just one physical book, automatically turning its pages. Each page transformed into an ancient scripture, piling up, manifesting the fiery glow of the Great Dao, and emitting terrifying symbols.

“What? Are you sure you’re not mistaken?” Old Gu asked.

This demonstrated the value of his Fiery Golden Eyes; not even temporal fragments could obstruct them. He could see through to the root cause, reflecting the truth in his pupils.

“I’m certain!” Chu Feng nodded.

Old Gu’s expression turned grave. He exclaimed with awe and apprehension, “Unbelievable! Wu Fengzi has reached this level! This is the special state my elder brother spoke of!”

“What special state?” the Northeast Tiger asked.

Old Gu sighed, a chill spreading through him. The scripture, solidified by true essence, manifested a Dao body. This was the result of long-term blessings upon the scripture, which in turn truly manifested a certain state of Wu Fengzi.

“The terrifying state of being impervious to all evils!” Old Gu whispered, deeply disheartened yet also shaken that their enemy had reached such a heaven-defying level.

To be impervious to all evils means that one’s path is stable and normal, always maintaining its inherent form, and not becoming indescribable after evolving to a certain level.

All powerful beings know that once one enters, or even slightly approaches, the Grand Universe level, a creature’s evolution becomes unpredictable; no one can foresee what form it will take.

Beings approaching the Grand Universe level have always been rare, extremely rare. And each of them is different; none are normal!

Li once said that following one’s own path without deviation, with every step a perilous one, and becoming impervious to all evils, is the correct path for evolution.

“From what I can see, Wu Fengzi hasn’t taken the wrong path yet; he’s still on the correct one, still ascending,” Old Gu said, startled and truly shocked.

Did those indescribable, supreme powerhouses wish to become like that? Clearly not. But once they reached that point, they had no choice but to push forward, regardless.

This indicates that their paths had deviated!

What level Wu Fengzi is at now is unknown, but the fact that he hasn’t gone astray yet is incredibly terrifying!

“This is a scripture passed down by Wu Fengzi himself. After being blessed by him, it can manifest his form to protect his junior disciples!” Old Gu revealed the truth.

It wasn’t Wu Fengzi who had arrived, but rather someone from his lineage of evolvers who had landed on the island, using the scriptures he had blessed over many years to forge a safe path into the island.

Without a doubt, someone was after the bloodline fruit again, intending to seize the creation here.

Once Old Gu understood the truth, he grew agitated. This was his elder brother’s territory, where he had carefully cultivated the bloodline fruit. How could he tolerate evolvers from Wu Fengzi’s lineage coming to snatch the prize halfway?

“Don’t rush onto the island. Let’s circle it first and observe. As long as there’s no Heavenly Venerate here, I’ll stake everything. I’d rather break out of this coffin than let anyone touch what my elder brother left behind. I’ll fight them to the bitter end!”

Old Gu’s eyes turned red. It was the first time he had spoken such fierce words, willing to shatter the Sky-Gold Stone Coffin and emerge prematurely, no longer nourishing his body within it.

“You have a way to get out?” the Northeast Tiger stared wide-eyed.

Even Chu Feng’s heart pounded. If Old Gu could emerge, he would undoubtedly be an extremely dangerous individual.

Old Gu said, “It will come at a heavy cost. We both know each other’s true nature now, forming a strategic alliance. Neither of us should harm the other. This time, let’s join forces and eliminate the beings who have landed on the island!”

He knew many of Chu Feng’s secrets and had even guessed many of the jar’s peculiarities. After all, they had fled together, and he had deeply experienced its extraordinary nature. Coupled with the considerable amount of soul-meat in the jar, he felt that this young man was too sinister when he faced Chu Feng.

“Yes, cooperation is essential!” Chu Feng nodded, though of course, he remained wary.

They circled the island. It was vast, but after Chu Feng opened his golden eyes, he still managed to see part of the truth through the temporal fragments that formed the light curtain.

“There are people on the island. Furthermore, three piles of scriptures are burning, creating a safe path that leads into the depths of the island!” Chu Feng said, his expression grim.

He had already seen three piles of flames supporting three Wu Fengzis, resisting the terrifying anomalies on the island. The bloody aura and essence released by the Kunpeng corpses and White Qilin remnants were all blocked by the radiant Dao bodies of Wu Fengzi.

“Flickering in and out of sight, deep within the island, there’s a peculiar light, wavering,” Chu Feng told Old Gu.

“That’s right, that’s the Bloodline Tree. There are no more than three such trees in the entire Yang Realm, and the other two might even be dead. This is something that can defy fate and change destiny. Don’t disbelieve me, even if you possess the so-called Human King bloodline, it can allow you to advance further!”

Old Gu revealed such a secret, stating that the fruit would even be effective for Chu Feng.

“It’s very useful to me too?!” Chu Feng was surprised.

He had thought this trip would only alter the Northeast Tiger’s bloodline, never imagining he might also benefit from it.

“It can cause the Human King blood to advance further, undergoing an inexplicable transformation!” Old Gu tempted.

At the same time, he frankly admitted that it also had a special effect on him; he, too, wanted to purify himself and awaken some terrifying bloodline.

“Some powerful bloodlines contain many evolutionary codes, which are very important for both you and me!” Old Gu said.

Subsequently, before Chu Feng had even set foot on the island, Old Gu’s expression changed. On the outer perimeter of the island, they saw traces, realizing where Wu Fengzi’s lineage had entered.

“Damn it, someone from my elder brother’s lineage is involved?!”

He was startled, a mixture of shock and anger.

Li had successors, as Old Gu had mentioned before, even referring to how fortunate he was to have left quickly back then, or he would likely have met with unforeseen disaster.

It was clear that he was not on good terms with Li’s successors.

However, he had never imagined that among Li’s inheritors, someone was suspected of joining forces with Wu Fengzi’s lineage.

“Don’t jump to conclusions,” Chu Feng said. “It might not be collusion. It’s also possible that one of your elder brother’s successors was captured by Wu Fengzi and forced to reveal some methods.”

Old Gu remained silent, staring at a dark token on one edge of the island, lost in thought. Finally, he gnashed his teeth and said, “It’s not that simple!”

He felt that things were very bad, wishing he could immediately gain immense power to purge his own lineage.

“Let’s go to the island!” he urged Chu Feng, fearing the bloodline fruit would be taken by others first.

It was evident that those people had arrived long ago, guarding this place for an unknown number of years. But they shouldn’t have succeeded yet, or they would have left already.
