Chapter 142: We Will Eventually Become History

Thump, thump, thump...

Medusa, as vast as a mountain range, moved forward.

Evil gods could not be directly looked upon. Having just gained her powers, Medusa found them difficult to control. To avoid harming anyone, she had to temporarily move away. Furthermore, she had taken this final step; she was no longer human. As a vast and colossal deity, she had no desire to interfere with the world of the three wizard kingdoms anymore.

Medusa, holding Pandora's Box, suddenly heard Linda's distant cry of alarm. She smiled complexly, "Teacher… the era of witches you pioneered, our era is coming to an end. All of us wizards, except for Armin and me, will fade into the dust of history."

Pandora's Box was merely a Level 6 Legendary Wizard, not even a Level 7 Epic or Demigod. It was destined not to be able to contain a god living within its body. At the moment Armin achieved godhood, Pandora's Box was shaken into oblivion, its essence becoming nourishment for the nascent deity, leaving behind only the empty shell.

Meanwhile, Armin, seated within the space of the Underworld, trembled. "Is the thousand-year history of the Babylonian Kingdom about to end here?"

This was a mutually destructive outcome.

The evil god had fallen, and they too would become a distant memory in history.

The 'Evil Eye' race was extinct in this world, which meant that the wizard cultivation system, built upon the Evil Eye bloodline as its civilizational foundation, would completely disappear.

"Armin, there's nothing either of us can do now! I will fall into a long slumber, and you must not easily descend to the mortal realm."

"Perhaps, in the future, we will be written into myths," Medusa chuckled softly. "Like the ancient Sumerian civilization, like the most powerful hero kings recorded in their myths, our ancient Babylonian Wizard Kingdom will also become part of ancient mythical history… How exciting!"

Medusa exclaimed loudly, striding forward.

She realized the wizard era was about to end, yet felt no stir in her heart. This surprised even her; perhaps from the moment she chose to abandon her human form, she had already relinquished her former life.

I am a new life, I am the great Cthulhuian Evil God!

"Come, I will guard the gates of the Underworld. Let Pandora's Box hide within my body. When the Underworld expands enough and can provide sufficient dense energy for me to break through, I will enter and achieve godhood there."

But her body was still far too massive.

Even Armin, an 'ant-sized' deity, had drained so much terrifying energy. How much more would she need? That would take an almost impossibly long time, but she could afford to wait.

"Let me think, where in our world will the entrance to the Underworld be?"

Medusa was silent for a long time. Finally, she returned to the place she had spent the longest in her former life—Gorgon Alchemist Island. Her vast body slowly sank into the far side of Oceanus and the Land of Night.

"I'm back again, living in a cage, just like you, Armin."

The Gorgon revealed a brilliant, enigmatic smile as she slowly sank into the seabed.

"Dear Armin, even the lifespan of a Level 8 deity has its limits! A Level 8 deity's lifespan is eight thousand years… seemingly so long, while a Level 7 Epic lives for only six hundred years. But even so, life still has an end. This is the pathetic aspect of human life… Armin, I hope you live a long time. Don't let me wake up several times only to find that the Underworld I guard has a new ruler."

Thousands of years later, people would open the 'New Divine Calendar' and clearly see it recorded:

The entrance to the Underworld is located beyond Oceanus, in the Land of Night. The Gorgon guards the gates of the Underworld; none may look directly upon her, for all who do will be turned to stone and die.

"A Level 8 deity can live for eight thousand years."

Xu Zhi sat in the courtyard, peeling fruit with a sharp paring knife. "Eight thousand years! That's incredibly long. They could live for over two months in my orchard."

Before, Level 7 Epic beings only had a lifespan of six hundred years, which meant they couldn't even survive a week in Xu Zhi's orchard.

Of course, non-human monsters like Medusa, who were particularly resilient and terrified of death, were naturally not classified among ordinary Epics.

"Still, the disappearance of the Evil Eyes in the sandbox world is a significant event."

He considered it, then decided against reintroducing Evil Eyes to proliferate. "Since the era of wizards has passed, let it be."

The birth of a deity provided Xu Zhi with sufficient surprise.

She even created her own divine realm and hid inside it, truly displaying the demeanor of a high-dimensional world.

"However, in a sense, our lovely and diligent Underworld Empress, Miss Armin, has locked herself inside."

He bit into his apple. "After all, Pandora's Box is too small, barely larger than a cage. Who knows how long it will take for it to expand continuously and truly become a complete spatial world?"

Nevertheless, it was ultimately something to be celebrated. Previously, there were only spatial storage techniques and spatial items. Now, finally, a spatial world, a high-energy transcendent world, was being nurtured.

The destitute Mother of the Zerg left nothing behind.

Even the Creator's most crucial spatial technology had to be developed and deduced by him.

Now, he had finally managed it; he could create high-energy spatial worlds.

Xu Zhi couldn't help but feel a touch of emotion: Armin's small step was a giant leap for the Creator.

"Started with a single spore, evolution relied entirely on baldness." Xu Zhi thought, speechless, as he sat on a chair in the courtyard.

Currently, Pandora, still a Level 6 Legendary Wizard, encompassed an area of two hundred cubic meters. This was a small unit of measurement for the sandbox world within it, roughly the size of a five-bedroom, two-living room apartment in a city.

Armin, living alone in this five-room, two-hall apartment, barely had room to stretch.

Even upon reaching Level 7 Epic Wizard, it would only be two thousand cubic meters, barely enough to put some items in and decorate the Underworld.

"A long road ahead," Xu Zhi mused. He felt that the Mother's earlier words were now proving their worth in certain aspects.

The smaller the size, the easier it was to induce qualitative changes in energy.

Armin, a deity even smaller than an ant, had already drained so much energy from so many places.

If it were a larger entity, who knew when it would ever be achieved?

"However, her absorption doesn't really concern me."

Xu Zhi's absorption rate was only thirty percent; the remaining seventy percent of the energy largely diffused into the air. After all, complete energy utilization was impossible; there was always a loss.

Armin absorbed precisely that energy which had diffused into the air.

Biological energy generally accumulated slowly until a certain threshold was reached, at which point it would surge out instantly as feedback. This feedback usually occurred during times of mass extinction, when seventy to eighty percent of the population would perish instantly, causing an explosive surge back to the Mother Nest.

Otherwise, how long would it take with normal cycles of birth, old age, sickness, and death across generations?

Now, with this Underworld Alchemical Array in the wizard world, combined with the terrifying slaughter that erupted like a natural disaster, the populations of both people and various colossal beasts instantly decreased by seventy percent, effectively becoming a horrific biological extinction event.

Of that seventy percent mortality, thirty percent were wizards, and the remaining forty percent were ordinary people. A large number of ordinary people were killed by the residual magical fallout, as the capital city alone housed millions of inhabitants. Some people were remnant believers of the three kingdoms who, hearing the call of the dead, willingly committed suicide and threw themselves into the vortex in the sky.

As civilization progressed to this point, wizards had become extremely common. As long as one was willing to expend financial resources, women could at least become Level 1 wizards, and even Level 2 wizards were a very normal, common part of the general population.

"The wizard world has tens of millions of people, with millions of wizards… I don't know how much scattered energy Armin gathered from heaven and earth to become a god, but I still retain thirty percent of it." Xu Zhi took a deep breath, silently feeling the surging power within him.

This burst of spiritual energy instantly propelled him to Level 3 Wizard!

He was already at the cusp of Level 2 Wizard, needing only a small external push to break through, so this was naturally not surprising.

But the next second.

Crack!

The surging spiritual energy surged into his body, beginning to break through to Level 4 Wizard.
