Chapter 1549: Nine Netherworld Corpse

The monster tossed the jade bottle in its hand into the air, offering it up.

In an instant, a burst of green light appeared in mid-air. With a muffled thud, a phantom image identical to the jade bottle flashed into existence. After a few flickers, it rapidly expanded to thirty feet in size. Simultaneously, a buzzing sound emanated from within the bottle, and its mouth slowly moved, facing the distant mist.

At almost the same time, the blue waves on the other side also underwent astonishing changes.

A dazzling column of light shot out from the center of the blue waves, causing all the water to surge outwards like a waterfall. In the very heart of the surging water, a shimmering blue gourd, no smaller than the bottle's phantom, abruptly surfaced. It spun around, and its mouth also pointed towards the Black Underworld Mist Sea.

The two extraterrestrial beings successively cast spells to activate their treasures. With two soft 'plop' sounds, an incredibly thick green light pillar erupted from the bottle's phantom, while streams of blue mist unfurled from the gourd.

As soon as both the light pillar and the blue mist vanished into the mist sea, the surrounding black mist immediately churned and surged fiercely towards them.

Then, the black mist swirled and transformed into two pillars of mist, which then vigorously poured into the two respective containers.

The speed at which the two treasures absorbed the mist was astonishingly fast.

Where the light pillar and blue mist passed, large clearings were created in mere moments, but the surrounding black mist immediately rolled in to cover them again.

The capacity of these two magical artifacts also seemed endless; despite the continuous influx of black mist, they showed no signs of abnormality.

Just then, a phantom flickered above the blue gourd, and the fish-eyed extraterrestrial being appeared on top of it, coldly observing the area below without uttering a word.

Meanwhile, the enormous monster conjured by the one-horned youth on the other side sat cross-legged beneath the bottle's phantom, closing its eyes.

Although the amount of black mist absorbed by the two treasures was impressive, the vastness of the Black Underworld Mist was truly extraordinary.

These two extraterrestrial beings remained in the vicinity for two days and two nights, yet they had only absorbed a mere fraction of the mist in the mist sea. It seemed that completely absorbing the entire Black Underworld Mist Sea would be impossible without at least a month or two of effort.

However, these two extraterrestrial beings showed no haste, continuously urging their treasures. It seemed that spending this amount of time was of no consequence to them. This caused Han Li, who was observing this astonishing scene from afar using the Myriad Dragon Pearl in his cave dwelling, to feel a sense of unease and restlessness.

If these two were to remain here for so long, how could he cultivate in peace? Ideally, they would collect the mist and then depart, but if they had other intentions, that would be disastrous.

However, the risk of leaving now was not significantly less than staying. Therefore, he had not dared to make any rash moves.

Even so, Han Li had already packed all his belongings in the cave dwelling more than half a day ago. Aside from the seventy-two Golden Thunder Bamboos that sealed his flying swords, all other important items were stored in his storage bracelet, preparing for an immediate escape should things truly turn dire.

A day later, the two extraterrestrial beings simultaneously cast spells, causing the two container-treasures to roughly double in size, and their mist-absorbing speed also significantly increased.

Furthermore, it was unknown what other divine abilities or secret techniques the two extraterrestrial beings had applied to the two treasures. The black mist pillars flying out from the mist sea surprisingly transformed from the original two into over a dozen.

As each mist pillar rolled and spun, black mist within a radius of approximately half a mile was swept into the air, flying towards the two treasures.

As a result, the mist sea's shrinking speed more than doubled, and its density visibly changed continuously.

Upon seeing this, the fish-eyed extraterrestrial being let out a low chuckle, then turned to the one-horned youth, who had resumed his original form after casting the spell, and spoke:

Just as the youth spoke, before the fish-eyed being could reply, the giant bird with nine heads on the opposite side suddenly raised its central head and let out a piercing shriek. Following this, its other eight heads simultaneously opened their mouths.

A tremendous roar erupted. Countless attacks of varying attributes—fireballs, wind blades, ice cones, lightning bolts, and more—simultaneously spewed forth from the eight heads. They were so dense that they nearly covered half the sky.

The ferocity of the attacks was truly terrifying.

However, upon seeing these attacks, the one-horned youth and the fish-eyed being remained remarkably calm.

The fish-eyed being declared, "I'll go first!" With that, the extraterrestrial being clasped its hands together, and a deep blue aura suddenly surged around its body. Then, it casually pointed a finger towards the overwhelming barrage of attacks approaching from the opposite side.

With a soft 'whoosh', a blue light shot forth from its fingertip. Initially a thin beam, it instantly transformed into a shimmering blue light barrier as soon as it left the finger, enveloping both itself and the one-horned youth.

Then, the fish-eyed being uttered a spell, causing the light barrier to flash wildly a few times before miraculously transforming into a translucent blue ice wall, horizontally positioned before them.

In that instant, all the attacks whistled in, striking the blue light barrier like rain hitting a straw mat.

Explosions, shrieks, and thudding sounds simultaneously erupted on the surface of the ice wall.

As various attacks intertwined and flashed, blinding multicolored spiritual light even engulfed the entire ice wall.

Upon seeing this, the central head of the Nine-Headed Bone Bird couldn't help but let out a triumphant cry, while the other eight heads continued their torrent of attacks without the slightest pause. In fact, due to the extreme density of the assault, it intensified by a third compared to before.

It seemed the bird intended to annihilate the two enemies in a single blow.

But just then, a cold snort suddenly emanated from within the multicolored light. Immediately, with a crisp 'crackle,' a sheet of deep blue light surged out from among the various glows. This light, in just a few flickers, spread with incredible speed to cover an area of over three hundred feet.

Wherever the blue light passed, the entire space twisted and blurred. Any attack that entered its area silently vanished without a trace.

Within the blue light, the urgent chanting of the fish-eyed being could be heard.

The light spun around, then suddenly burst forth with intense radiance, a large expanse of blue light curling back towards the gigantic Bone Bird.

Its speed was so astonishing that in just a single breath's time, the mysterious light was already within close proximity of the Bone Bird.
