Chapter 670: Old Acquaintance

"First it was the ancient Phoenix ancestor, and now you've brought two ancient half-immortals directly to Prison Peak, haven't you?"

"I'm at the Tribulation Transcension stage, not an immortal."

If this continues, he can't even imagine what other prominent figures might be brought back next.

"That kid Lu Yang again?" The child-like Patriarch suddenly realized the source of his constant disturbance since his retirement.

"Our junior brother just happened to be there."

Gasps of shock rippled through the prisoners on Prison Peak.

For the past two years, all the prisoners held at Prison Peak have been connected to this cultivator named Lu Yang.

What's more, the backgrounds of the new prisoners were increasingly astonishing: first the Great Yu Emperor, and now half-immortals who once vied for control of the world. If Prison Peak were considered a faction, it would be as renowned as the Demon Nation.

Even the Demon Nation only has two half-immortals.

They never imagined they would witness the two supreme beings who once contended for world supremacy.

Emperor Yu Wu Youdao's gaze flickered nervously when he saw the Nightmare Supreme.

As the sixth Emperor Yu, he knew the Nightmare Supreme's power intimately. It was an undeniable fact that the Nightmare Supreme had been the greatest obstacle in his ancestor's struggle for supremacy.

"Nightmare will stay here; I'm taking Void out for a while."

The Senior Sister was not worried about Nightmare escaping. She had already planted a thought seed within the Nightmare Supreme; should he ever conceive of escape, the seed would grow and torment him beyond endurance.

Only after learning about the thought seed did the Grandmaster finally breathe a slight sigh of relief.

The Void Supreme had no idea where Yun Zhi was taking him. Held by his collar, he was whisked away at lightning speed until they arrived at their destination.

The Imperial Palace in the Imperial City!

The Void Supreme instantly bristled with jealousy.

Without the Jiang and Meng families, this place should have been his domain. No, the entire Great Xia should have belonged to him!

Before arriving at the palace, Yun Zhi first sent a telepathic message to Emperor Xia, requesting him to dismiss his attendants.

Emperor Xia, who was in the Hall of Mental Cultivation reviewing memorials from Chunjiang City, was initially stunned, then quickly understood and ordered the eunuchs and palace maids to leave.

Yun Zhi arrived at the Hall of Mental Cultivation, still holding the Void Supreme. The Void Supreme gazed at Emperor Xia, whose features bore a slight resemblance to Jiang Ping'an, and his aura became unstable with rage.

"Presumably, this is the Void Supreme who vied for control of the world with my ancestor?"

Emperor Xia carefully scrutinized the Void Supreme, marveling aloud. It was a rare opportunity to meet his ancestor's formidable opponent.

Yun Zhi's power was evident, which made the Void Supreme apprehensive. However, when faced with an enemy's descendant—especially Emperor Xia, who had little cultivation talent—the Void Supreme abandoned such reservations.

"It seems Jiang Ping'an was truly evil, causing his descendants to have only a few years left to live!"

He immediately perceived Emperor Xia's weakness, which was due to a loss of lifespan, and couldn't help but feel a sense of schadenfreude.

Emperor Xia's expression darkened; this was his greatest pain point.

Yun Zhi suddenly recalled the Immortal Indestructible mentioning a spiritual root of heaven and earth, a peach tree that bore life-prolonging peaches. This tree, not classified as a heavenly material or earthly treasure, had an unknown location.

Yet, in the secret realm where she had grown up, there were countless peach trees in addition to the Mother-Child River.

Could it be that one of the trees in her secret realm was that very spiritual root of heaven and earth?

If so, Emperor Xia might be saved.

This matter was still uncertain, so there was no need to tell Emperor Xia and cause premature joy.

The Void Supreme's mood inexplicably improved. He had initially thought Sect Master Yun brought him here merely to provoke him, but now it seemed she was finding amusement for herself.

"Wait a moment," he thought. "Since Sect Master Yun knows the current Emperor Xia, does that mean the Great Xia Dynasty is colluding with the ancient Heavenly Court?"

Something still felt off.

"Then I'll take him inside to meet someone," Yun Zhi said casually. Hearing this, Emperor Xia personally opened the door for her.

The Void Supreme was somewhat bewildered. Who else was she planning to take him to see?

Yun Zhi offered no explanation to the Void Supreme. Instead, she carried him to the imperial palace's back garden, a place known as the "Forbidden Grounds" to the palace maids and eunuchs.

Red walls, red doors, and green tiles—this was the perception of the Forbidden Grounds among palace residents.

As for its internal appearance, why entry was strictly forbidden, and who truly resided within, no one knew.

The tall red door was adorned with carvings of two bronze demonic beast heads, each grasping a door knocker. Yun Zhi gently tapped a knocker three times.

*Clang, clang, clang.*

The eyes of the fearsome bronze demonic beast lit up, and the massive door silently swung open.

Stepping into the Forbidden Grounds, the Void Supreme discovered its interior was nothing like what was seen from the outside.

From the exterior, no buildings or hills protruded above the red palace walls.

Yet, inside, the Forbidden Grounds stretched boundlessly, complete with mountains and rivers. However, everything was miniaturized; the tallest peak was only thirty to forty meters high, resembling a small hillock.

The rivers were pitifully narrow, and the lakes were no larger than puddles formed after a rain shower.

It was as if all external objects had shrunk upon entering this space, making them feel like giants traversing a miniature world.

The Void Supreme stared at one particular mountain, finding it increasingly familiar. "Wait," he murmured, "that's Mount Tai'an, and next to it is Bamboo Forest Lake..."

The Void Supreme matched each piece of the surrounding scenery to his memory and suddenly understood.

This was a miniature version of the Great Xia Dynasty!

"Let me see who Fellow Daoist Yun has brought," a relatively young voice echoed from the distance. "Ah, it's an old acquaintance."

"That voice..." Upon hearing it, the Void Supreme's aura uncontrollably surged outward, and his killing intent erupted.

A young man, dressed in coarse linen and carrying a hoe, landed. He grinned cheerfully at the Void Supreme, his bright smile and handsome features easily inspiring goodwill.

"Void, it's been a hundred thousand years since we last met, hasn't it?"

Seeing the young man, the Void Supreme wished he could devour him whole. He would never forget that face. "Jiang Ping'an, you're still alive!"

If not for Jiang Ping'an, he would be the current emperor, and this Great Xia would have been his empire!

The young man's smile widened. "If you're still alive, why shouldn't I be?"

Jiang Ping'an cupped his hands. "Fellow Daoist Yun," he said, "you can put him down. With you and me here, he won't be able to escape."

Yun Zhi released him, and the Void Supreme flipped mid-air, landing steadily on his feet.

"Void, I know you're unconvinced, believing that I only defeated you because it was a two-on-one fight with me and Junzi."

(Referring to Meng Junzi, the old ancestor of the Meng family.)

"Actually, I could have defeated you on my own. It was simply faster with two of us."

The Void Supreme scoffed repeatedly. He would be a fool to believe such nonsense.

"Alright, I'm not one to renege on a challenge," Jiang Ping'an continued. "We rarely meet, and since you're still unconvinced, how about we have a genuine fight, just the two of us, without any help from others?"

"Agreed!"

"Void Realm Descent!"

The Void Supreme roared, a triumphant, conspiratorial smile on his face. He opened his Void Realm, drawing both himself and Jiang Ping'an inside. The Senior Sister, meanwhile, pulled out an imperial chair and waited nearby for the outcome.

Soon, the Void Supreme's smile vanished.

"Jiang Ping'an, you've become an immortal!?"
