Chapter 1273: Meng Ge should be the weakest among our four

After a frank discussion, the four realized they shared tragic pasts. This discovery, coupled with the fact that they were all in the same precarious situation and being hunted by three different factions, significantly brought them closer together.

"What are your plans next?" Lu Yang asked. He didn't have any strong preferences, viewing the situation as an opportunity to see the world with the other three.

"My chip contains evidence of the Murong Group's illegal activities. If I release it online, it will attract public attention, and the Supreme Council will sanction them," Yu Ran explained. Only their leader had a direct way to contact the Supreme Council, but with the Stars organization dismantled by the Murong Group and their leader missing, publicly releasing the evidence was their only remaining option.

Lan Hai shook his head. "That won't work. Aether controls all networks, and since I'm with you, it will identify you as my accomplices. You won't be able to send any messages out."

"I'm afraid Aether knows exactly where we are right now."

Yu Ran was dismayed. She possessed the most crucial criminal evidence but was unable to stop the Murong Group. However, one thing puzzled her: "Then why hasn't Aether continued to send robot legions after us?"

Lan Hai took his hands off the steering wheel, letting the car switch to autonomous driving. This vehicle wasn't connected to the network, so there was no concern about Aether controlling it.

He turned to Yu Ran and explained, "Before, when the robots were chasing me, it could be explained away as a programming error to mislead the Alliance. But if robots kept chasing us one after another, the Alliance would realize there's a big problem. Aether isn't ready to expose itself yet."

"Michelle, what are your plans?" Lu Yang asked again.

Michelle was equally frustrated. "I was also planning to make the evidence public, but judging by what Lan Hai said, my method won't work either."

"However, I have another plan."

"What plan?"

"The professor gave me a formula for an 'anti-gene agent' on my chip. This agent can incapacitate gene-modified humans like us. As long as I have the formula and access to a lab, I can synthesize the anti-gene agent, and then we won't have to fear the Supremacy's pursuit!" Michelle said confidently. She was not only skilled in combat but also something of an expert in gene technology.

"A laboratory..." Lan Hai murmured. Suddenly, an idea struck him. "I've got it! I have a good friend who loves to conduct experiments and has set up a small lab at home. We can go there!"

"That's great!"

With the plan set, Lan Hai changed the destination to his friend's house. The sports car drifted around the bend, leaving behind a blur of cool taillights.

Lan Hai's sports car was extremely fast, covering the distance from one end of the city to the other in about an hour.

"Stop the car," Lan Hai suddenly announced, to the confusion of the other three.

"What's wrong?"

Lan Hai pointed to a restroom sign by the road. "I need to use the restroom. Do any of you?"

Yu Ran shook her head. "No, most of my body has been mechanically modified, so I don't need to use the restroom."

Michelle also shook her head. "My body has undergone genetic modification, so I can practically go without eating or drinking."

Lan Hai scratched his head, wondering why his two beautiful companions seemed less and less human; he'd only had his arms modified.

"I'll get out too," Lu Yang said, though he had actually spotted a convenience store by the road and wanted to buy some food.

"Do you have any cash I could borrow?"

"I should," Lan Hai said, fumbling in his pockets and pulling out two banknotes.

"Given our relationship, don't call it a loan; that's too formal. Just keep it," Lan Hai said generously.

"Thank you."

Lu Yang and Lan Hai exited the car, leaving Yu Ran and Michelle behind.

"Sister Yu Ran, is your modified body more geared toward combat?" Michelle suddenly asked.

Yu Ran paused. "How did you know?"

She had loved combat since childhood, so her mechanical modifications were designed with combat in mind.

But she had never revealed the specifics of her modifications. How did Michelle know?

Michelle smiled and pointed to herself. "I can't explain the exact principle, perhaps it's a result of my genetic modifications, but I can generally sense the level of threat people nearby pose. Among the three of you, Sister Yu Ran, you register as the most dangerous."

"That's amazing?" Yu Ran exclaimed, surprised. The Supremacy truly possessed remarkable technology.

"What about Lan Hai and Brother Meng?"

"I don't feel any threat from them at all. They're both ordinary people. If I had to rank them, Lan Hai is slightly stronger than Brother Meng."

"Boss, do you have any popular snacks here? I'd like to buy a few."

The owner, a robot, displayed several snack options on its facial screen. "I recommend these."

"I'll take one of each."

"Alright."

Lu Yang carried a large bag of snacks, picked out something resembling a lollipop, and put it in his mouth. It was cool and refreshing.

"This tastes good, Fairy, try some," Lu Yang said, switching to his other body. He wasn't particularly fond of snacks himself; he primarily wanted the Immortal Fairy to taste it.

"Not bad at all."

The Immortal Fairy's response surprised Lu Yang; he had expected her to say the lollipop wasn't good and certainly not as delicious as her own cooking.

"As long as the Fairy thinks it's good."

On his way back, a sinister man wearing a black trench coat and a black hat blocked Lu Yang's path.

The sinister man threw a small device that enveloped both himself and Lu Yang.

"Kid, it seems you're Michelle's new companion."

"Who are you?"

The sinister man lifted his black hat, revealing a ferocious face marred by a cross-shaped knife scar, a sight that instilled fear.

Immediately afterward, one after another, over thirty gene-modified individuals appeared, each exuding immense power and murderous intent, wielding various strange and exotic weapons.

"Heh heh, kid, blame it on being Michelle's friend. If you honestly tell us who's in the car and what their abilities are, I might be merciful enough to give you a quick end!" another gene-modified individual sneered. His ability seemed to be ice-related, as the surrounding temperature dropped by several degrees.

"Don't even think about shouting. See this small device on the ground? It can simulate the surrounding environment, making everything appear normal from the outside. Your voice won't carry out either!"

Lu Yang trembled with fear, realizing their intent. "Are you trying to extract information from me to ambush Michelle and the others?"

"I won't betray my companions!"

"It seems Michelle really found a good companion. Now, die!"

Five minutes later.

Lu Yang got into the car, carrying his bags of snacks. Seeing that everyone was present, he said, "Let's go."

"Oh, Lan Hai, here's your money back."

Lan Hai took the money, looking surprised. "You didn't spend it?"

"No, I actually ran into a kind person on the way who gave me some money."

Lan Hai didn't dwell on it and let the sports car continue on its way.

However, just as the sports car started, a gaunt man with long, slender arms appeared in the middle of the road and swung fiercely at the car.

The sports car braked sharply, dodging the attack, and a deep gash appeared on the road.

"Michelle, aren't you going to come out yet?" the gaunt man laughed wildly.

Michelle and the others knew that staying in the car meant certain death, so they got out.

Michelle was on high alert, warning Lu Yang and the other two, "Be careful! This person is a Supremacy Class A warrior — the Reaper. I'll hold him off while you seize the opportunity to escape!"

The Reaper burst into laughter. "Michelle, do you really think you can still run? To tell you the truth, our organization has sent over thirty warriors to completely surround you!"

"Among them are Class A warriors 'Extreme Frost,' 'Blazing Sun,' 'Life Giver,' 'Ghost Mask,' and 'Seven Blades.' The rest are all Class B warriors!"

The Reaper spread his arms and shouted loudly, "Come out, everyone!"
