Chapter 1312: Three Lives Medicine

“Three-Lives Medicine, what is that?” Chu Feng wondered. A creature so close he could almost feel its icy breath was actually muttering the name of a medicine?

Despite his doubts, Chu Feng was mostly terrified. He felt utterly passive, his life and death not in his own hands. If the Feeder attacked him, Chu Feng seriously doubted that even using the Reincarnation Earth and the small black wooden spear could block it. He dared not act rashly. He was unwilling to take out the chopstick-length black wooden spear, a powerful weapon, unless it was absolutely unavoidable. He didn't even open his Fiery Golden Eyes, fearing he might provoke the Feeder.

The dense, boundless fog covered the entire Yongzhou camp. Millions of evolvers were retreating, fleeing the area. However, Chu Feng couldn't leave now; he was locked on, targeted by this inexplicable creature.

Not far away, Qi Rong lay rigid on the ground. Yet, being a Heavenly Venerable, he revived moments later and was about to flee after opening his eyes. However, before he could even get up, the Feeder let out a piercing shriek. It sounded like the combined grievance of billions of vengeful spirits, causing the gray mist to surge. With a thud, Qi Rong had barely moved when he collapsed again, his vision going black, and he fell unconscious once more.

Chu Feng's scalp tingled. This was indeed a terrifying creature that fed on evolvers above the Heavenly Venerable level; a casual growl was enough to stiffen Qi Rong into unconsciousness. In fact, Chu Feng was also secretly relieved. Although he felt as if his soul light was about to shatter, he hadn't received a fatal blow, as the creature wasn't targeting those below the Heavenly Venerable level. He was somewhat worried about Yu Shang, fearing he might encounter trouble. Indeed, at that moment, he sensed movement within the large tent; Yu Shang was struggling to get out.

“Senior, don't move rashly, stay there!” Chu Feng urgently transmitted his voice, telling Yu Shang that this was the Feeder, specifically targeting powerful individuals, and that he himself was fine outside. Yu Shang was worried, fearing Chu Feng might be in danger, but ultimately, Chu Feng's extremely anxious transmission prevented him from moving. In truth, he couldn't move anyway; the Feeder let out another howl, and Yu Shang also fell, unconscious on the ground.

The area became quiet. The two Heavenly Venerables had fallen backward, Chu Feng stood rigid in place, while everyone else had fled the dense fog. In the deathly silence, Chu Feng sensed a creature circling him. It completed a full round, then looked elsewhere, still muttering about the Three-Lives Medicine. Subsequently, a deathly silence enveloped the area, but Chu Feng found it increasingly terrifying, feeling as if he had left the mortal realm and entered an unknown world.

Yin mist surged, covering the heavens and earth. Everyone, from both Zhanzhou and Hezhou camps, gazed in disbelief, as the entire Yongzhou camp seemed to have plunged into the underworld, fallen into the netherworld. It was exceedingly dim, and the Yin energy was terrifyingly thick.

Within the dense fog and deathly silence, Chu Feng suddenly heard a distant yet chilling bell sound, as if from a bell hanging around the neck of some terrifying beast. At the same time, he felt a bone-chilling cold. The Feeder was nearby, appearing now in front, now behind him, moving incredibly fast, shifting left and right. The ground was sinking, the earth silently vanishing as the Feeder searched for something.

Chu Feng decided to go all out. He opened his Fiery Golden Eyes; otherwise, if the creature launched a fierce attack, he wouldn't even be able to detect it beforehand. He wanted to see what this so-called Feeder truly was!

Finally, he saw it: in the dense fog, there was a disheveled figure moving with incredible speed, appearing throughout the entire area. Yet, when it moved, it was utterly silent, constantly flickering in and out of existence. Several times, it was almost face-to-face with Chu Feng, no wonder he had felt its breath. However, its face was covered by its disheveled hair, making its true appearance indiscernible. Even his Fiery Golden Eyes couldn't see through it, unable to penetrate the strands of hair.

The Feeder wore tattered clothes, very much like the legendary golden jade burial suit woven from mother gold, but they had long since decayed. It was hard to imagine how many distant ages they had endured. Its gray hair was disheveled, and its tattered clothes bore dark, dried bloodstains. This figure was like a ghost; its occasional howls were soul-stirring, making one feel as though their very soul was about to shatter! This was still the result of its aura being fully restrained and not directed at a weaker being like Chu Feng; otherwise, he might have died just like the Heavenly Venerables. However, Chu Feng also harbored a suspicion: this Feeder hadn't eaten Qi Rong; he was still alive and well, merely unconscious.

Where did the bell sound come from? It wasn't emanating from this disheveled Feeder.

Hmm?! The next moment, Chu Feng was shocked. He finally discovered a secret, one that was both astounding and terrifying: the space behind the Feeder was collapsed, as if connected to another world. As the Feeder moved, the collapsed space moved with it, as if it carried an entire world on its back. The bell sound originated from that collapsed world, where a fierce beast roamed.

Chu Feng was deeply astonished. What was this situation? A Feeder carrying a world on its back? What secrets did that space hold?

Golden symbols flickered in Chu Feng's eyes. Since they were already so close, if the Feeder truly intended to strike him, it wouldn't show any mercy. He stared at the collapsed world, wanting to uncover all its secrets. In an instant, he felt dizzy, almost fainting, as the collapsed world was spinning, emitting a strange energy. It was a vortex, constantly revolving, like a dark starfield slowly rotating, threatening to draw one's mind into it. Inside, it was extremely dim, spiraling deeper and deeper. Along the way, countless creatures, like corpses or lost souls, floated and drifted.

What was going on? Chu Feng was profoundly shocked. The collapsed vortex world carried by the Feeder resembled a dead zone, with various zombie-like entities roaming within. Most critically, this world spiraled endlessly inward, and from its deepest recesses came a pervasive stench of decay and overwhelming death energy. This was strange; when Chu Feng hadn't focused on this collapsed world, he hadn't smelled any scent, but now, the decaying odor and death energy seemed to flood over him.

The bell sound originated from a fierce beast in the deeper parts of the spiraling world, which ceaselessly wailed in the dark shadows. It closely resembled a Hellhound, towering like a mountain, black as ink, and utterly terrifying.

Chu Feng shook his head vigorously. This situation was all wrong; a Feeder carrying a collapsed world filled with bizarre and sinister phenomena—it seemed far too abnormal no matter how he looked at it. Chu Feng composed himself and stared at the vortex world, observing that many of the walking dead within were unconsciously moving through the dead zone, seemingly immensely powerful in life. He fixed his gaze there, golden symbols gleaming chillingly in his eyes, and saw deeper into that realm of death: several broken metal fragments. As he focused on the floating fragments, he unexpectedly heard the sound of a bell, as if it could pierce through past, present, and future, shaking one's very soul. His entire sea of consciousness trembled, and his mind felt on the verge of going blank.

“Something's strange!” Chu Feng exclaimed in surprise. He didn't give up, continuing to stare, and was almost able to see the end of that vortex world. In a daze, he saw a person, back facing outward, sitting cross-legged there, body leaning forward. A shattered grand bell lay scattered nearby, and the person, covered in blood, was half-prostrate on the broken bell. The scent of decay and the dense Yin mist originated from that spot. Moreover, through the broken bell, a partial and blurry image was reflected: a blood-stained bronze coffin, its occupant unknown, plummeting into the distance.

“Aowroarr… Medicine, come!” A bestial roar reverberated. It was a mournful howl, transmitted in an ancient language that Chu Feng couldn't possibly understand. However, a faint surge of spiritual energy emanated outward, allowing Chu Feng to grasp its meaning. Amidst the bestial roar and the weeping, the giant black beast within the vortex world trembled.

Chu Feng was startled back to his senses. He could no longer see the blood-stained figure in the deepest part of the vortex, back facing outward and prostrate on the broken bell. Yet, his heart pounded with fright. Why did it feel as if he had seen it before? This person had appeared in the mental imprints shown to him by Number Nine.
