Three seeds—how could it be them?! Chu Feng would never mistake them; he was far too familiar with them. They were currently on his person, stored in the stone jar.
All three seeds were stained with blood, a mournful red, as they slipped out from the primordial chaos energy and fell from the artifact. Chu Feng instantly focused intensely, his heart pounding. He wanted to know what these three seeds had experienced countless ages ago, in an unknown era or even epoch, and what their true origin and background were. They were simply too mysterious. Chu Feng’s ability to embark on the path of evolution was directly linked to them, leading to his rise.
Unfortunately, after falling from the artifact emitting primordial chaos energy, the three seeds accelerated, broke free from the constraints of space, and flew away. “Huh?” Chu Feng was startled. What was happening?
Behind them, the primordial chaos energy surged and churned. The mysterious artifact seemed to vibrate, even emitting earth-shattering tremors that fractured the very fabric of the world’s great dao, as if compelling all beings, past, present, and future, to bow down in submission. This was an unstoppable force! What kind of artifact was it? It rumbled and vibrated incessantly, its primordial chaos energy boiling and becoming the source of myriad qi, surging through all heavens, as if threatening to rampage across all realms. The artifact tried to reclaim the three seeds, but ultimately gave up.
Boom! The primordial mother qi roared. Clearly, something unexpected was happening behind it. With a loud bang, it shook violently, and for a moment, all the great daos wailed, completely suppressed by it. It unleashed special ripples that swept across all heavens and myriad realms! Then, everything fell briefly silent. Blood flowed, falling from the chaos, a tragically beautiful, dazzling crimson, scattering from the primordial mother qi. In a daze, all heavens seemed to freeze; past, present, and future were torn open! The seemingly static mysterious ancient artifact was, in fact, preventing an unpredictable and terrifying major event from occurring behind it, one that might be capable of altering the past, present, and future.
Chu Feng widened his eyes in astonishment, holding his breath. He wanted to watch closely, fearing he might miss something, as he felt this must be an immense storm. However, all of it was blocked by this ancient artifact. It seemed to sever a piece of ancient history, a period of time, an entire epoch, holding back whatever ill omens lay on the other side behind it!
Finally, Chu Feng vaguely glimpsed a corner of the truth; he saw some dim figures. It was a primeval battlefield, an boundless grand realm, with terrifying waves so immense that a single splash could engulf an entire universe and shatter an epoch. It was an unimaginable, extreme battle! He saw the collapse of the starry sky, the burial of epochs. He saw someone striking a bell, its ripples sweeping over countless immortals. He saw someone wielding mother qi, severing past and present. He saw a figure in white, picturesque and transcendently beautiful, looking down on all ages, facing all realms of the heavens with unmatched elegance. He saw the collapse of a colossal divine statue, half the size of a universe and defying celestial rules, from which endless gray mist surged out, rampaging everywhere. And within the shattered, dust-covered cosmos of that world, countless human effigies all cracked and then exploded, releasing living beings who then rushed out to kill. Black blood flowed, rendering an entire universe desolate and lifeless. This was not a matter of one world, or one epoch's battle; events unfolded one after another.
Finally, immeasurable light burst forth. Behind the myriad realms of the heavens, various brilliant lights erupted, and the sky above cracked open, allowing something to descend. Was someone traversing past, present, and future? Chu Feng could no longer see; the scenes were chilling. What he witnessed was merely a glimpse, not the final decisive battle or the ultimate high-level struggle. Darkness descended, obscuring the view. An ancient road vaguely appeared; Chu Feng found it familiar, like the Path of Reincarnation, spanning several epochs. Ultimately, there was a tragically beautiful red, specks of blood streaking past, rushing forth as if suddenly projected into the viewer’s eyes, causing a jolt. Chu Feng seemed to see ancient universes collapsing and many powerful experts falling. His breathing almost stopped as he tried his utmost to see everything through the mist. In his eyes, there was only that mournful red, and in his ears, he seemed to hear a funeral dirge. A bell exploded, and a figure with its back to him slumped down. Then, he saw a figure in billowing white, a peerless woman, like an empress descending upon the eternal sky, slowly moving away, treading through the heavens, stained with blood, profoundly alone. Until the very end, only primordial chaos energy flowed, originating from the artifact, accompanied by dazzling blood streaking across that space. At this point, everything became eerily silent and still; all images froze.
“Primordial essence, mother qi of myriad things,” Yu Shang sighed softly, speaking subconsciously. Then, he was freed. The spiritual imprint completely detached from his brow and flew out entirely, entering Chu Feng’s head. Yu Shang appeared slightly bewildered because a segment of his memory had been stripped away; he had forgotten the main information about the ancient artifact. The imprint was that dominant. When that spiritual imprint detached, it erased the primary traces of the relevant clues that had remained in Yu Shang’s mind.
“What was that?” Chu Feng’s voice trembled slightly. He felt he had seen incredibly important information, left by predecessors, concerning drastic changes in past, present, and future, yet he couldn't comprehend it; his current level wasn't high enough! Yu Shang was lost in thought for a long time before saying, “I don’t know. It’s an imprint that you need to comprehend yourself. Vaguely, the images seem to contain the approximate final coordinates of the mysterious artifact.”
Chu Feng calmed himself and watched again. Later, he no longer focused on the primordial chaos energy but looked around, as if there were mountains and rivers, a magnificent landscape. Was that the coordinate location of the mysterious artifact? However, now he was more eager to know what lay behind that ancient artifact and what kind of world it had severed. He always felt that the ancient artifact was too extraordinary; if found, it might reveal a completely new world. Chu Feng murmured to himself, “Why do I feel like this mysterious artifact is blocking the passage to all heavens and myriad realms, severing an epoch? Behind it lies a magnificent, bloody battlefield. Finding it might not be such a good thing.” He even felt it was like filling a “sea eye,” blocking the vast oceans of the heavens. He mused wildly, but Yu Shang couldn’t help him now. After the imprint was passed to him, the memory traces in Yu Shang’s mind were smoothed over, leaving no significant impression.
Afterward, Chu Feng shifted his attention. He recalled the images he saw at the very beginning: the three blood-stained seeds slipping from the artifact, then breaking through space and departing. From then on, all subsequent images had no relation to the three seeds. Stained with blood, they simply vanished completely. What was the true origin of the three seeds? After witnessing those terrifying scenes, Chu Feng’s doubts grew, and he became even more astonished by their background. Were they possessions of the mysterious artifact’s owner? Or were the three seeds spoils of battle, won by powerful figures from the artifact owner’s faction on that terrifying battlefield of the heavens? Because, after carefully recalling those images, Chu Feng felt that the three seeds were crucial. Even the mysterious artifact, flowing with primordial chaos energy, wanted to retrieve them. But the three seeds escaped and vanished without a trace! Moreover, it was at that very moment that the battle intensified further, as if countless beings, many peerless experts from various eras, and numerous formidable enemies all attacked together, attempting to block their path and obtain the three blood-stained seeds. Did the seeds belong to the heavens, to that battlefield?
Chu Feng pondered deeply, once again immersing himself in his inner world to observe the imprint. However, after the third time, he could no longer activate it, unable to explore further. “You can only view it three times a year,” Yu Shang reminded him. He still remembered the minor details, but the crucial secrets had long since faded from his memory. Chu Feng was surprised, then became even more solemn. He stopped actively viewing it, instead recalling what he had already seen in his mind, pondering silently.
He was greatly shocked that the three seeds on his person were somehow connected to the mysterious artifact protected by Yu Shang’s clan! His mind wandered far, considering many things. How did the three seeds ultimately end up on Earth? And specifically, right at the exit of the Path of Reincarnation’s purgatory! Furthermore, who later acquired the three seeds and then inexplicably placed them into the stone jar? By all accounts, the stone jar he possessed was also far from simple; it seemed even more mysterious, existing for an incredibly ancient and distant age. In the spiritual imprint images from Yu Shang’s ancestor, there was no information about the stone jar. It seemed, then, that countless ages ago, the three seeds slipped from the mysterious artifact, flew away from the bloody battlefield of the heavens, and were then obtained by someone. Moreover, the person who obtained the seeds must also have been extraordinarily powerful, otherwise, how could they possess an artifact as defying as the stone jar? Chu Feng had a feeling that the stone jar in his possession might be no less significant than what was considered the most powerful ultimate artifact in the history of various evolutionary civilizations! In fact, he believed the stone jar might not even be inferior to the mysterious artifact Yu Shang’s ancestor sought to protect. Regarding the stone jar, some memories surfaced: how ordinary it seemed at first, not even a jar but a square shape. Only after various transformations did its interior expand, and special patterns and exceptionally mysterious golden symbols appear on its stony surface. Even the characters on the rough stone millstone in the Bright Dead City of the Path of Reincarnation seemed to originate from the stone jar, their script styles being similar!
At this moment, Yu Shang seemed somewhat dazed, alternating between weeping loudly and foolishly giggling. His hair was white, his old eyes clouded, almost appearing senile. This was primarily because he had released the burden in his heart and realized he still had descendants, still alive, meaning his lineage had not died out. He was overwhelmed with emotion, crying and laughing. He had been too suppressed, too distressed, and too desolate all these years. It was a long time before he finally regained his composure.
Chu Feng had already awakened. Seeing Elder Yu Shang in this state, he felt a pang of sadness for him, yet also joy. Yaoyao was his descendant, finally bringing dawn and hope to Yu Shang, giving him something to look forward to, dispelling his previous lifelessness. Regardless, Chu Feng wanted to protect Elder Yu Shang, to let him live longer, striving to ensure he could survive until the day Yaoyao reappeared. However, Chu Feng also felt a heavy weight in his heart: was Yaoyao truly still alive? He wished he could immediately return to the great abyss in the Lesser Netherworld and leap in to find her. "I must become a peerless expert! I must soar to the heavens in the shortest time possible and reclaim everything!" he roared in a low voice.
Afterward, Chu Feng pondered again and again whether he possessed anything that could prolong Yu Shang’s life. He genuinely worried that Elder Yu Shang might pass away in the next few months, which would be too tragic. "Hmm?!" His heart stirred. He thought of a possibility, feeling it might be worth trying, perhaps even changing the fate of the lonely and helpless Elder Yu Shang.
Chu Feng had bloodline fruits on him, items of extraordinary power! Previously, they might not have made much difference to an old man like Yu Shang, whose life was flickering like a candle in the wind. Moreover, Chu Feng hadn't given much thought to this aspect, usually considering legendary rare elixirs that could extend lifespans. However, Chu Feng learned today that the ancestor of the Yu Shang clan seemed to have an unimaginably powerful origin, and occasionally, individuals with extremely special blood would appear among their clan members. It was conceivable that this was the clan’s ancestral bloodline reviving and activating! If so, knowing that the source of their clan’s bloodline was exceptionally potent, Elder Yu Shang might see a glimmer of hope at the end of his life. That blood, capable of baptizing all beings, could very likely save himself. If the bloodline fruit could stimulate a transformation in Yu Shang, causing him to evolve and activate that ancient true blood, then perhaps certain things could change!
Thinking of this, Chu Feng quickly took out the attribute-less bloodline fruit that could only purify one’s own bloodline and had Yu Shang eat it. Yu Shang was stunned. Upon learning what it was, he was surprised. Such a thing was considered extraordinary even in prehistoric times, and it was almost impossible to find in the current era. Even if there were clues, ultimate beings would control them. How could anyone else possibly gather them?
“Elder, please eat two more. I don’t have much else, but I have plenty of these fruits!” Chu Feng said with great confidence. “Where did you get them?” “I ambushed and snatched them from a martial lunatic’s descendant. I harvested the entire plant’s fruits, collected them all!” Chu Feng replied. Yu Shang was speechless, truly not knowing what to say. Could such a thing even be possible?
Chu Feng said, “Elder, please take your time consuming these. I’ll go out and check on Exalted Qi Rong; the secret realm he owes me needs to be opened immediately.”
As Chu Feng stepped out of the golden tent, he heard the sound of flapping wings. He looked up abruptly, a chill running down his spine, his heart trembling violently. It was a group of reincarnation hunters, appearing on the battlefield, moving across the sky. “Caw!” Almost simultaneously, he heard a bizarre and chilling cry from the distant horizon, so terrifying that it made one’s body go cold. At that moment, Chu Feng saw Exalted Qi Rong, not far away, trembling and almost collapsing to the ground. What was happening? Chu Feng was surprised. “Heavenly Venerable Seekers… have appeared!” Exalted Qi Rong’s voice trembled from nearby.
