Chapter 468: Virtual History, The Surprising Zhao Xing

Four people stood with Zhao Xing before the great gate. Besides Zuo Qiyu and the Five Poisons Emperor, there was Jing Yue from the Heavenly Master Manor, Ji Si's senior disciple. She had met Zhao Xing previously when she was chosen to rescue him along the Azure Butterfly Ancient Path.

Another person was named Fan Hua, whom the Five Poisons Emperor described as a Lord-level Starry Sky Historian.

Zhao Xing, however, could tell that Fan Hua cultivated both martial arts and history.

Individuals capable of cultivating two professions simultaneously are exceptionally gifted. Fan Hua was a hybrid of demon and human. A red furry tail was wrapped around his waist, and his physique was remarkably robust. Yet, he was taciturn and preferred not to speak.

The five waited by the gate for some time before Bo Wei emerged from within.

Zhao Xing vaguely sensed that Bo Wei was in a rather somber mood.

Perhaps Emperor Meng Wu's visit carried a unique significance.

If he still couldn't enter the Trans-Realm Tower, it would signify that the tower presented uncontrollable risks.

An uncontrollable divine artifact?

It would certainly need to be sealed.

The development of the Moon God's Wilderness granted the Red Star Empire considerable influence among the super powers. If the Red Star Empire were to demand Bo Wei shut down the Trans-Realm Tower, he would have no recourse.

Since Meng Wu's teacher was a god-tier entity, if Meng Wu made such a statement, it would imply a god-tier command to shut it down.

"Greetings, Grand Elder," the five chorused, bowing in unison.

"Enter first and wait in the main hall," Bo Wei instructed.

"Understood."

The Five Poisons Emperor, Zuo Qiyu, Jing Yue, and Fan Hua all passed through the Trans-Realm Tower's gate without hindrance.

Only Zhao Xing, seated in the Floral Chair, remained. Bo Wei flew from the gateway to stand behind Zhao Xing and began pushing the chair.

A rumbling sound emanated.

From the left and right sides of the Floral Chair, distinct black and white air currents surged forth, while two vines from its back pierced into Zhao Xing's body.

Only then did Zhao Xing realize that the Floral Chair, crafted by Bo Wei, could actually manipulate both spacetime and the Grand Dao of Karma!

"This is definitely a Reincarnation Dao Weapon, and a top-tier one!" Zhao Xing thought, surprised.

A Dao Weapon capable of manipulating spacetime and the Grand Dao of Karma was exceedingly rare!

"This is Bo Wei's protective measure for me."

Had Zhao Xing not cultivated Blue Flower mana, he wouldn't have sensed any of this.

Bo Wei then began pushing the Floral Chair forward.

His hands similarly turned black and white, the Floral Chair's hidden patterns illuminated, and the black and white air currents completely enveloped both Zhao Xing and the chair, propelling them forward step by step.

A loud rumble filled the air.

While the outside world remained calm, Zhao Xing felt as if he had just stepped into a raging storm vortex.

The red light barrier reappeared, and the black and white air currents from the Floral Chair began to contend with it.

The surrounding world transformed into a chaotic swirl of colors and lines, eerily reminiscent of a collapsing minor realm.

Zhao Xing felt as if the apocalypse was upon him; the terrifying pressure from the Grand Dao caused both his soul and his True Spirit Celestial Poison to tremble uncontrollably.

If he were weak, this might be expected, but having cultivated Blue Flower mana, he could now distinctly sense this immense pressure.

Boom, boom, boom!

Countless thunderous explosions echoed in his mind, and Zhao Xing felt as though his very being was on the verge of annihilation.

Then, suddenly, everything quieted.

Abruptly, all anomalous phenomena vanished. Zhao Xing realized the red light barrier was gone, and he had already crossed the threshold.

"Grand Elder, are you—"

"Be cautious with your words and actions; do not reveal heavenly secrets."

Zhao Xing sensed a weariness in Bo Wei's tone, as if the latter had just endured a great battle.

It was strange; weren't scholars supposed to be unable to fight?

"Grand Elder, do you have any further instructions?" Zhao Xing quickly composed himself.

"The Floral Chair contains four strands of my power within it," Bo Wei explained, patting its backrest. "Press the left side for emergency teleportation; it ignores all conditions and will transport you directly back to the seventh layer. This is for your use only, and you must remain seated in the chair."

"Press the right side to activate the Floral God Barrier. As long as you don't encounter a god from historical spacetime, even demigods won't be able to break it within three breaths."

Bo Wei's power? Was that not demigod mana?

Mana is a combination of law and spiritual energy, and as a scholar who mastered all professions, Bo Wei's mana could arguably be considered the strongest among demigods.

Bo Wei hadn't intended to reveal the Floral Chair's mysteries so soon, but circumstances had changed dramatically.

The success of Zhao Xing's journey directly impacted whether the Trans-Realm Tower would be shut down.

This had nothing to do with Zhao Xing being a genius or whom he had taken as a master.

It was Zhao Xing's experiences that led the empire to perceive the Trans-Realm Tower as a dangerous divine artifact. If Bo Wei could resolve the underlying issues, there would be room for discussion; otherwise, shutting it down was the only conceivable outcome.

"Your entry via the Floral Chair is essentially a form of illicit passage," Bo Wei explained. "I surmise that the Trans-Realm Tower's spacetime laws must achieve a closed loop before you can use the Realm Jade and Historical Register."

"Therefore, your upcoming journey might prove quite challenging."

"I understand, Grand Elder," Zhao Xing replied. "Which Trans-Realm should I choose to enter?"

"Don't ask me; ask yourself," Bo Wei stated. "You cannot enter the Trans-Realm through normal means; you must make your own choice."

Zhao Xing understood. He was still repelled by the Trans-Realm Tower, but for some reason, the repulsion was not as intense as before.

He could enter, but he couldn't form a team, as the teaming mechanism stemmed from the Realm Jade inherent to the Trans-Realm Tower itself.

Since the Realm Jade was currently unusable, his only way in was via the Floral Chair.

Therefore, Zhao Xing had to choose a suitable destination to quickly rendezvous with Zuo Qiyu and the others.

Bo Wei pushed the Floral Chair towards a secluded hall, where the four other individuals were no longer visible.

Only three interlocked spheres floated in the center of the hall. Their point of convergence emanated a red glow, while the remaining parts still emitted a blue light.

"It truly makes no difference where I enter from," Zhao Xing mused aloud. "The three realms have merged, so entering any Trans-Realm is the same. The true anomaly lies in the intersecting spacetime."

"Since I encountered the anomaly in the Heavenly You Ancient Kingdom, I should choose the Trans-Realm of the Li River Star Transformation."

Seeing Bo Wei's lack of reaction, Zhao Xing ceased contemplating and propelled the Floral Chair towards the glowing sphere.

A series of clicking sounds followed.

As Zhao Xing vanished into the light sphere, the sphere's fusion abruptly accelerated, and the red light intensified considerably.

Bo Wei looked upwards, his expression heavy.

After a moment, he suddenly let out a small, bitter laugh.

"Ah, they're merely a group of cowards, heartless and clinging to life."

Once the Floral Chair entered the light sphere, Zhao Xing experienced a dizzying sensation, followed by unconsciousness.

When his consciousness began to return, he vaguely heard voices calling to him.

"Master Zhao, wake up, wake up!"

Zhao Xing tried to open his eyes, but for some reason, he felt incredibly weary and only wished to sleep indefinitely. He mumbled, "Don't bother me, let me sleep a little longer..."

The voices, however, did not subside; in fact, one grew closer, eventually resorting to shaking him.

"Zhao Feiyang, you scoundrel official, wake up right now, or I'll split you in two!"

"Ah, no, you mustn't! If you kill him, we'll all be ruined."

*Clang!* A sound like a sharp sword being drawn, followed by a piercing pain, jolted Zhao Xing awake. He abruptly opened his eyes.

He found himself still seated in the Floral Chair, though its appearance had somehow changed.

The surroundings were an ancient, elegantly decorated grand hall. Above him, four large characters read: "Contend for Heaven and Earth, Benefit Nation and People."

A stack of official documents lay scattered on the desk before him. To his left stood a divination tube containing twenty-three colorful spirit sticks, labeled with terms like "Pure Brightness" and "Grain Rain."

Zhao Xing noticed he was holding a command stick inscribed with "Beginning of Spring."

Shifting his gaze forward, he saw two individuals.

One was clad in black full body armor, holding a sharp sword whose tip, emanating a faint glow, was barely three inches from his forehead.

Beside him stood an elderly man in a gray straw cloak, his face etched with worry, who was pulling back the sword-wielding young man.

Who was he? Where was he? What had happened?

Zhao Xing's mind felt sluggish, struggling to comprehend the situation.

"Hmph, just as I thought, you were faking it!" The black-armored general's face turned cold. "Zhao Feiyang, give me a straight answer: can you handle this or not? If not, I'll kill you right here!"

"Ah, no, you mustn't! You mustn't!" the old man beside him pleaded repeatedly. "General Fang Yu, calm down, calm down!"

"You are— hmm, General, could you please put down your sword first?"

With the Floral Chair's assistance, the True Spirit Celestial Poison within his Sea of Consciousness settled, and his thoughts gradually cleared. He quickly realized what was happening.

Fang Yu, interpreting Zhao Xing's words as a sign of capitulation, let out a cold snort. "I'll only give you one month," he stated.

"If you haven't resolved the problem in a month, don't blame me, Fang Yu, for marching the Blackfeather Army into Li River Star City to demand answers."

"By then, I, Fang Yu, might recognize your official's hat, but the sword in my hand certainly won't!"

*Clang!*

Fang Yu abruptly sheathed his sword, its gleam sweeping across the desk and cleanly severing a corner.

"Oh, what are we to do? What are we to do? A month, that's utterly impossible!" After Fang Yu departed, the old Sihnong continued to sigh beside him.

Zhao Xing remained silent, quietly waiting for the Floral Chair to transmit information.

At this moment, the Floral Chair possessed the functionalities of a Realm Jade, informing Zhao Xing of the time and location after teleportation, the historical event he was immersed in, and the details of his assumed role.

"The 98th solar year of the 22nd era before the Desolate Realm."

"This particular point in time..."

The first piece of information Zhao Xing received was the current time, which made him frown.

His last entry into the Medicine King Trans-Realm had been in the 94th solar year of the 22nd era before the Desolate Realm.

As it was an era preceding the Desolate Realm, the counting was in reverse; thus, a smaller number indicated a closer proximity to the Desolate Realm era's starting point.

One solar year was equivalent to a thousand Boundary Star Years. This meant there were still approximately four thousand Boundary Star Years until he would encounter his previous self!

Yet, his own lifespan was just over three thousand years!

The next piece of information concerned his role.

"My current position is River Star Regulator of Li River Star City, in the Wu Ma Constellation of the Heavenly You Ancient Kingdom."

"This is a position of high rank but little power and heavy responsibility. According to the Heavenly You River Regulation Records, during the Li River Star Transformation, this specific type of official suffered the most beheadings
