Chapter 481: The Power of Spirit Arts

Wang Changsheng raised his hand, and the Nine-Bend Divine Sand Gourd flew out. With a loud whoosh, countless fine yellow grains of sand poured forth, forming a massive yellow sword over thirty feet long, which menacingly slashed towards the Fire Kylin Boar.

The Fire Kylin Boar once more unleashed a wave of red sound, meeting the yellow giant sword.

A deafening roar erupted as the red sound wave shattered the yellow giant sword, turning it back into scattered fine yellow sand.

Wang Changsheng formed a hand seal, and the fine yellow sand spun rapidly, transforming into hundreds of yellow flying daggers that eagerly sliced towards the Fire Kylin Boar.

Simultaneously, Chen Yilong chanted a sword incantation, and his cyan sword light swirled, forming a colossal cyan python that lunged at the Fire Kylin Boar.

Sun Hongyu tossed the red short blade from her hand into the air. It rapidly expanded against the wind, transforming into a massive red blade over ten feet long, its spiritual light flickering.

She formed a hand seal, and hundreds of red blade shadows materialized around the red giant blade, striking the Fire Kylin Boar with lightning speed, emitting sharp whooshing sounds.

Hundreds of yellow flying daggers struck the red light barrier, producing a series of muffled thuds.

The cyan python opened its gaping maw, its sharp fangs biting into the red light barrier, creating a muffled sound.

Over a hundred red blade shadows struck the red light barrier, shattering it. The blade shadows then struck the Fire Kylin Boar's body but failed to inflict any damage.

“Roar!”

The Fire Kylin Boar let out an angry roar, unleashing a wave of red sound that swept outwards in all directions.

The yellow flying daggers reverted to a large mass of fine yellow sand and flew backward. The red blade shadows dissolved into specks of red light, and the cyan giant python returned to its original form.

Wang Changsheng formed a hand seal, and the fine yellow sand churned, transforming into over a thousand tiny yellow flying needles that struck the Fire Kylin Boar with a hissing sound.

The Fire Kylin Boar dared not face the attack head-on and was about to dodge when a red streak of light shot forward, transforming into a red silk sash that swiftly bound the Fire Kylin Boar.

A layer of crimson flames flickered on the Fire Kylin Boar's body, but it failed to burn through the red silk sash.

The thousand yellow flying needles struck but couldn't penetrate the Fire Kylin Boar's defense; however, the dense barrage of needles blinded its eyes.

The Fire Kylin Boar let out a series of mournful cries and flew towards Wang Changsheng.

Wang Changsheng waved his hands at the void, and countless blue electric arcs materialized, quickly forming a house-sized blue lightning orb that hurtled towards the Fire Kylin Boar.

A deafening roar echoed as a vast expanse of blue lightning engulfed the Fire Kylin Boar.

“Roar!”

A mournful cry pierced the air, and from within the blue lightning, a dazzling crimson light flared. The Fire Kylin Boar burst forth, rapidly charging at Wang Changsheng.

A sharp glint flashed in Wang Changsheng's eyes; the mid-tier Rank 3 Fire Kylin Boar's defensive power was beyond his imagination.

He clapped his right palm at the void in front of him, and a giant blue palm several feet in size instantly shot out, its surface crackling with numerous blue electric arcs.

Blind, the Fire Kylin Boar was unaware of Wang Changsheng's specific move; it only sensed that he had unleashed a high-level spell and remained supremely confident in its physical body.

The Fire Kylin Boar collided with the blue giant palm, erupting in blinding blue light. A tremendous roar ensued, and a powerful shockwave swept outwards.

A mournful shriek pierced the air as the Fire Kylin Boar was sent flying backward from the blue light, numerous scales falling from its body, leaving it covered in blood.

The Fire Kylin Boar, which even magic treasures had failed to harm, had actually been injured by the blue giant palm.

Chen Yilong and Sun Hongyu exchanged surprised glances, the word "Spirit Art" appearing simultaneously in both their minds.

Generally, Spirit Arts are inherent to cultivation techniques, but some exist independently and can be cultivated by high-level immortal practitioners.

They could discern that Wang Changsheng was employing a Spirit Art, but they couldn't infer from this that he practiced an Earth-grade cultivation technique.

Their gazes towards Wang Changsheng simultaneously revealed a hint of apprehension. A high-level cultivator capable of using Spirit Arts was certainly no ordinary person; they themselves, for instance, did not understand Spirit Arts, practicing only Profound-grade cultivation techniques with divine abilities leaning towards defense.

Sun Hongyu changed her hand seal, and the red silk sash burst with blinding red light, countless red runes appearing as it rapidly tightened. A cyan streak of light then shot forth, piercing into the Fire Kylin Boar's body through the existing wound, with a significant portion of the sword blade sinking in.

Wang Changsheng changed his hand seal, and countless yellow fine sand churned, forming a giant yellow hammer that swiftly slammed towards the cyan flying sword.

The entire cyan long sword plunged into the Fire Kylin Boar's body, causing blood to flow continuously.

Chen Yilong changed his hand seal, and with a series of crisp sword hums, countless cyan sword energies shot out, ravaging the Fire Kylin Boar's body.

Wang Changsheng changed his hand seal, and the yellow giant hammer transformed into a large mass of fine yellow sand. It then churned and reformed into a giant yellow sword, which plunged into the Fire Kylin Boar through the existing wound.

A mournful wail erupted as a several-foot-long wound appeared on the Fire Kylin Boar's surface, bleeding profusely.

A house-sized blue lightning orb crashed down, transforming into a vast expanse of blue lightning that engulfed the Fire Kylin Boar's body.

Chen Yilong conjured a cyan longbow, drew it, and released three cyan arrows. With a few "swish" sounds, they vanished into the blue lightning, then reappeared, some blood visible on their arrowheads.

The Fire Kylin Boar plummeted from the lightning, its body charred black and its aura weak. Three finger-thick blood holes marred its abdomen, bleeding profusely.

The cyan flying sword glowed brighter, soared high, and then directly severed the Fire Kylin Boar's head.

Wang Changsheng breathed a sigh of relief and retrieved the Nine-Bend Divine Sand.

The power of the Spirit Severing Palm far surpassed that of divine abilities; his eleven years spent cultivating it were certainly not in vain.

What puzzled Wang Changsheng was that Chen Yilong and his wife hadn't conjured any other magic treasures. He began to suspect they had ulterior motives and grew wary.

Unknown to Wang Changsheng, Chen Yilong and his wife had faced formidable enemies over a decade ago. Several of their magic treasures were destroyed in that great battle, and Sun Hongyu herself was severely wounded.

“Fellow Daoist Wang truly keeps his abilities hidden! I am impressed,” Chen Yilong complimented. Although his cultivation was higher than Wang Changsheng's, he knew he couldn't withstand a single Spirit Art attack, and who was to say Wang Changsheng didn't possess a second one?

“Fellow Daoist Chen, you jest,” Wang Changsheng replied modestly. “The divine abilities of both of you have also greatly impressed me.”

Sun Hongyu flew down beside the Fire Kylin Boar's corpse and extracted its inner core, a hint of reluctance in her eyes. She placed it into a wooden box and, along with a large piece of red beast hide, handed them to Wang Changsheng. The remaining materials they kept for themselves.

Wang Changsheng didn't stand on ceremony, accepting the demonic core and beast hide. These could fetch over a hundred thousand spirit stones, making this a considerable haul.

A short while later, the three of them returned to the surface of the sea.

“Fellow Daoist Wang,” Chen Yilong said, his tone now considerably more polite after learning Wang Changsheng understood Spirit Arts, “Golden Dragon Island in the Five Dragon Sea Region is about to host a major auction. Aren't you seeking the whereabouts of the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Water? You shouldn't miss this one.”

“I will be there on time, Fellow Daoist Chen. I have other matters to attend to, so I'll take my leave now. See you at Golden Dragon Island.”

With that, Wang Changsheng transformed into a blue streak of light and soared away.

“I misjudged him earlier,” Chen Yilong sighed, watching Wang Changsheng disappear. “Then again, a Core Formation cultivator known by the Cyan Rainbow Immortal Couple of the Myriad Sword Sect wouldn't be an ordinary individual.”

“We've hunted demonic beasts with him twice, forging a good connection,” Sun Hongyu nodded, agreeing. “Befriending him will benefit the future development of our Wood Dragon Pavilion.”

“Alright, let's head back quickly!” Chen Yilong muttered. “Evil cultivators have been causing trouble lately. We should return soon! I wonder what crimes that evil cultivator committed to make Yellow Dragon Island offer a reward of five hundred thousand spirit stones for his capture.”

Chen Yilong muttered to himself, then he and Sun Hongyu transformed into two streaks of light and vanished into the sky.
