Chapter 3382: Inheritance in Order, Nurturing the Next Generation

Qinglian Island, Scripture Repository. In a secret chamber, Wang Chuanlin sat on the main seat, his expression solemn.

A handsome young man in a green shirt and an exquisitely dressed young woman in a white dress stood to one side, their expressions respectful. The young man in the green shirt was Wang Yufeng, and the young woman in the white dress was Wang Yuxue. Both were at the mid-Void Refinement stage and had recently been recruited as guardians of the Scripture Repository.

Wang Chuanlin had already advanced to the Integration stage. As a guardian, the family provided him with various resources for his cultivation, including support for breaking through major realms, ensuring he could focus on protecting the Scripture Repository. With the passing of the older generation of cultivators, Wang Chuanlin had become the head of the Scripture Repository. The benefits for scripture guardians were excellent and numerous, making the competition quite fierce. Wang Yufeng and Wang Yuxue underwent multiple rounds of rigorous selection, overcoming numerous challenges to emerge as the new guardians.

“I won’t go into too many rules,” Wang Chuanlin instructed. “First, go organize the new collection of ancient texts the family has acquired, and report to me once you’re finished.”

After Wang Changsheng advanced to the Mahayana stage, the Wang family’s influence grew significantly, making it easier to collect ancient texts. Logically, having two Void Refinement cultivators organize texts would be wasteful, but Wang Chuanlin was simply using this opportunity to assess their abilities. Wang Chuanlin was currently focused on researching immortal scripts, and the family prioritized collecting relevant texts for his studies.

“Yes, Patriarch Chuanlin,” Wang Yufeng and Wang Yuxue readily agreed, then withdrew.

In a quiet manor, Du Xueyao and Wang Shenfeng sat in a stone pavilion, sipping tea and chatting.

“This time, it was finally successful,” Du Xueyao said with a smile. “The Ice Lotus Brew is quite effective at healing injuries caused by lightning strikes. In the future, if clansmen are injured by lightning tribulations while attempting breakthroughs to major realms, they can drink Ice Lotus Brew for recovery.”

Ice Lotus Brew was a sixth-tier spirit wine she had improved based on an ancient recipe. While it proved effective against injuries caused by lightning strikes, it would, of course, be useless for severe wounds. Wang Shenfeng had been injured by the lightning tribulation during his Grand Heavenly Tribulation, though his wounds were not severe. After drinking a pot of Ice Lotus Brew, his condition improved.

Du Xueyao was skilled in brewing. The Wang family had collected numerous wine recipes, and after she married Wang Yidao, she used these ancient formulas to develop new ones. This extensive research was only possible with the Wang family's robust financial backing; the Lan family, for instance, would not have possessed such ample resources to support her in improving multiple ancient recipes.

“Thanks to Patriarch Xueyao,” Wang Shenfeng said gratefully. “Otherwise, I wouldn’t know when I would have recovered.” He was the most highly cultivated poison cultivator in the Wang family and was currently practicing the *Myriad Poisons Scripture*. He had asked Wang Yong'an to help set up a formation, filling his residence with miasma to aid his cultivation.

“Why be so formal among family?” Du Xueyao said with a smile. “I should thank you for being willing to drink Ice Lotus Brew for healing!” She explained that when she brewed new spirit wines, she typically experimented on spirit beasts first; only if they consumed it without issue would she then offer it to the Wang family members.

After chatting for a while, Wang Shenfeng bid farewell and departed. No sooner had he left than Wang Yi'er arrived.

“Brother Yi’er, why are you here?” Du Xueyao asked curiously.

Wang Yidao had a solitary personality, so it was rare for clansmen to seek him out. Furthermore, he wasn't on Qinglian Island; he was stationed on Tianqin Island.

“The family head asked me to come,” Wang Yi’er said, taking out a blue storage ring and a blue jade slip and handing them to Du Xueyao. “These materials are for you to research new wine recipes. If everything is in order, please sign.”

Liu Hongxue, Bai Yuqi, and Du Xueyao had made significant contributions to the Wang family. The family consistently absorbed talented cultivators from outside clans to inject fresh blood, recognizing that its core members couldn't all bear the Wang surname. Du Xueyao expressed her gratitude, accepted the storage ring, and after verifying its contents, signed for it. This protocol was in place to prevent corruption. Any transfer of assets required a detailed manifest and a signed receipt to minimize potential corruption.

On a thousand-mu bluestone plaza, over three thousand Wang family cultivators, ranging from Qi Refinement to Void Refinement stages, stood in neat rows, their expressions solemn. Wang Yuanwei stood at the very front, her expression solemn. These three thousand-plus individuals were all sound cultivators. The family had gathered them and, through multiple rounds of selection, chosen the most outstanding members for specialized training, a path Wang Yuanwei herself had followed years ago.

After the Grand Ascension Celebration, the Wang family established the Heavenly Sound Hall, with Wang Yuanwei appointed as its head, primarily responsible for cultivating sound cultivators. Given the significant contributions of the Wang family’s sound cultivators in several major battles, the family had intensified its efforts in training them.

“From today onwards, you will temporarily reside on Tianyin Peak,” Wang Yuanwei instructed. “As for whether you can remain here permanently, that will depend on your own efforts. Guangqi, see to their arrangements.”

Wang Guangqi acknowledged her command and proceeded to carry it out.

On a ten-thousand-mu bluestone plaza, a massive blue lotus platform stood at its center. Wang Lihe sat cross-legged upon it, lecturing to over twenty thousand cultivators who were seated on meditation cushions. With substantial financial resources, the Wang family now controlled over thirty thousand islands and had intensified efforts in cultivating talents across various fields, with sword cultivators being a top priority.

Integration-stage clansmen took turns giving lectures, and a select portion of the clan was chosen for focused cultivation. The cultivation mechanism was quite flexible: the most common method involved clan competitions, where achieving a high ranking in the family’s grand competition could make one a key cultivation candidate. Other pathways included making meritorious contributions, or participating in clan elder lectures and demonstrating exceptional talent in a certain area, thereby gaining recognition from multiple clan elders.

Wang Guangming sat in a prominent position, listening intently to Wang Lihe’s lecture. He was a notably prominent Void Refinement sword cultivator within the Wang family over the last ten millennia. After Wang Xiuling and Wang Xiulong departed for the Cyan Glaze Sea Region, he became a primary focus for the family’s sword cultivation efforts. Wang Qingshan taught Wang Lihe, Wang Lijiao, Wang Lihe, Wang Huayue, and Wang Ruyi. Once Wang Lihe matured, he in turn taught younger generations like Wang Guangming, ensuring an orderly succession of knowledge.

In a secluded manor, Wang Yong’an, Wang Deguan, and Wang Shenming sat in a blue stone pavilion, sipping tea and chatting. With Bai Yuqi’s whereabouts unknown and Wang Xiangrong on Qianling Continent, Wang Yong’an was the primary representative on Xuanling Continent. He was a formation master highly prioritized by the family for cultivation. Wang Deguan had ascended from the Dongli Realm, and both he and Wang Shenming were sixth-tier formation masters.

“The Seven Stars Sect is hosting the Heavenly Formation Convention and has invited many formation masters to attend,” Wang Yong’an instructed. “You two should come with me! Interacting with other sixth-tier formation masters can broaden your horizons and be beneficial to your growth.”

Whenever the human race on Xuanling Continent held larger celebrations or auctions, Wang family disciples were always invited, and hosts considered their attendance an honor. The Seven Stars Sect, renowned for its formations on Xuanling Continent, was hosting the Heavenly Formation Convention and had extended invitations to numerous formation masters, including Wang Yong’an.

“Yes, Patriarch Yong’an,” Wang Shenming and Wang Deguan readily agreed.
