Chapter 2918: Coincidence (No More Today)

"Don't even mention it. I ran into some Fire Spirit Tribe scouts on the way and almost didn't make it back. I have important information to report to Elder Yi."

Bu Yao's tone was somewhat heavy.

"Then hurry! We'll be retreating later."

The guard urged him.

"Retreat? What's going on?"

Bu Yao paused slightly, his face full of confusion.

"Apparently, they're abandoning this outpost and retreating to other strongholds to bolster their forces. It's a command from above. The women, children, elderly, and infirm are to withdraw to the Sky Lizard Mountain Range first, and high-tier cultivators will follow later."

The guard explained.

Bu Yao nodded, saying nothing more.

Perhaps because of the impending retreat, the guards didn't question him at all and allowed him to pass directly. The red giant dove flew into the stone archway and landed in an open space.

Bu Yao jumped to the ground, put away his spirit beast, and strode towards the mountaintop.

Along the way, he encountered many acquaintances, greeting them and chatting a bit longer with those he knew well.

Less than half an hour later, Bu Yao appeared in the bluestone plaza on the mountaintop. Not far away stood a blue palace over twenty zhang tall, guarded by two sentries at its entrance.

Just as Bu Yao was about to find someone to announce his arrival, a deafening explosion erupted from inside the palace, causing the entire blue structure to shake violently.

"Enemy attack! Enemy attack!"

A panicked cry echoed from within the hall, and the two guards immediately rushed inside to investigate. Not long after, two pained screams rang out.

The alarm blared loudly, and numerous cultivators rushed towards the mountaintop.

With a deafening roar, the main hall exploded, tearing into pieces. Several streaks of escape light shot out from within, hovering high in the sky.

Eight Integration cultivators, six men and two women, hovered above. The highest cultivation among them belonged to a corpulent elder in silver robes, whose eyes were silvery-white.

Lei Ran, leader of the Fire Spirit Tribe's deep-strike harassment unit, was at the late Integration stage.

Bai Xuan was also present. Standing not far from Bai Xuan was a purple-robed woman with a green face and fangs. She had a pair of purple fleshy wings on her back and exuded a chilling aura.

Sang Se, at the mid Integration stage, was the leader of the Yaksha Tribe.

"Gu Ji, how could you conspire with the Fire Spirit Tribe and the Yaksha Tribe? Your Blood Frog Tribe still has many members in the Sky Lizard Mountain Range, and your great-grandson is there too. Aren't you afraid of implicating them by doing this?" bellowed a gaunt elder in golden robes, his left arm missing.

Yi Xi, at the mid Integration stage, was the head of the Lizard Tribe at this outpost.

"Only the wise adapt to changing circumstances," the blood-robed elder with a shrewd expression sneered. "I have no desire to perish with your Lizard Tribe. As for those clansmen, they were already held as hostages by you in the Sky Lizard Mountain Range. If I die in battle, they won't have an easy life either. Rather than that, it's better to rebel. As long as I live, the Blood Frog Tribe can continue."

The Lizard Tribe had long since drawn resentment from its vassal races by detaining the families of their high-tier cultivators as hostages in the Sky Lizard Mountain Range, forcing these cultivators to fight to the death for them. However, at the time, the Lizard Tribe was immensely powerful, and any dissenting races were directly annihilated, leaving no vassal race daring to oppose them.

As the war progressed, the Lizard Tribe grew increasingly weaker, and defeat became inevitable. Most of its vassal races were nearly wiped out. Some high-tier cultivators from these vassal races, unwilling to go down with the Lizard Tribe, sought allegiance with other races. Gu Ji was one of them.

"Enough talk. Kill them all."

Lei Ran formed a hand seal. A deafening peal of thunder erupted from high above, and tens of thousands of thick silver lightning bolts tore through the sky, striking down at Yi Xi and the others.

Yi Xi and the others either activated their Dharma Idols or manipulated their treasures to resist.

For a time, explosions rang out continuously, and qi waves surged like tides.

Bai Xuan formed a hand seal, and a great amount of white snowflakes drifted down from the sky. After a blur, the snowflakes transformed into numerous white ice swords, slashing towards the Lizard Tribe cultivators arriving as reinforcements.

Screams filled the air as numerous Lizard Tribe cultivators were shattered into dust by the white ice swords.

Outside Soaring Dragon Mountain, a deafening roar was followed by a massive crimson mushroom cloud that shot into the sky, highly conspicuous.

Cold Moon, Liao Zhongyan, and the other human cultivators frowned. Not far away were Ba Yin and over a hundred other cultivators.

Wang Chuanming's expression darkened. What an incredible coincidence: the Fire Spirit Tribe and Yaksha Tribe were also attacking this very outpost.

Seeing the anomaly at the outpost, Cold Moon and Liao Zhongyan initially thought the Green Lotus Immortal Couple had been exposed by the Lizard Tribe and were preparing to attack the stronghold themselves. To their surprise, experts from the Yaksha Tribe and Fire Spirit Tribe appeared.

Humans, the Fire Spirit Tribe, and the Yaksha Tribe were already sworn enemies. The three tribes had been at war for many years, their hands stained with each other's blood. When sworn enemies meet, their eyes burn with particular fury.

"Human cultivators! Perfect. We're already shaking the grass to rouse the rabbits, so while we're dealing with the Lizard Tribe, we might as well take care of you too. Kill them all, leave no one alive!"

Ba Yin's gaze turned cold as he activated his Dharma Idol to attack Cold Moon and the others.

Cold Moon and the others had no choice but to fight.

On Soaring Dragon Mountain, Lei Ran and the other Integration cultivators were locked in fierce combat. The lower-tier Lizard Tribe cultivators were either turned into ice sculptures or killed by sound waves, rendering them completely unable to provide support.

A colossal blue tower, over a hundred zhang tall, had most of its structure underground, with only a smaller portion protruding above ground. Its entrance lay open, where Bu Yao was sprawled, his body riddled like a sieve by dense white ice swords.

Passing through the entrance, a spacious and brightly lit hall appeared. Inside, a long blue counter stretched across the room, and on the stone wall to the left was carved a lifelike yellow lizard.

With a flash of spiritual light, Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan materialized.

A red eye appeared on Wang Ruyan's forehead, none other than the True Eye of Lihuo.

Taking advantage of the chaotic battle between the Lizard Tribe, Fire Spirit Tribe, and Yaksha Tribe, they intended to infiltrate the outpost's supply depot and plunder its treasures.

Wang Changsheng's body glowed intensely with blue light. Gripping nine Sea-Calming Beads in each hand, he slammed them against the stone wall.

With a deafening roar, the stone wall shattered into pieces. A faint yellow light screen blocked his path. Behind the yellow light screen, numerous shelves were visible, laden with wooden boxes, jade boxes, treasures, ores, formation flags, and dozens of large chests overflowing with spirit stones.

Wang Ruyan summoned the Golden Crow Lamp, and with a hand seal, its wick ignited. The flames flared, and with a clear cry, a Golden Crow flew out, spewing a stream of golden flame from its mouth. It struck the yellow light screen, causing a wisp of green smoke to rise.

Wang Changsheng's fists glowed intensely. The yellow light screen flickered wildly before shattering like a bubble.

After breaking the restriction, Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan collected everything in the treasure vault, leaving not a single spirit stone behind.

"You're asking for death!"

An enraged male voice resounded; the foreign tribes had discovered them.

Wang Changsheng showed no fear. His body erupted with blue light, and countless streams of blue seawater surged forth. The water violently churned, forming a massive blue water tornado that shot into the sky, tearing a large hole through the blue tower.

The next moment, with a thunderous crash, the blue tower split into pieces.

Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan floated high in the sky, their expressions solemn. Aside from Yi Xi, all other Integration cultivators of the Lizard Tribe had been slain. Lei Ran was at the late Integration stage, and with the addition of Bai Xuan and Sang Se, the Lizard Tribe's Integration cultivators were no match for them at all.
