Chapter 1564: Landing on the Moon

Suddenly, a perfectly transparent soul materialized before Xu Yang and Little Gray.

It was an old man with a snowy beard and hair, yet his face was remarkably youthful. He exuded the aura of an unparalleled genius, but the emptiness and despair in his eyes instantly resonated deep within Xu Yang's soul.

"Who are you? Why are you here?" the venerable-looking old man suddenly inquired. A faint smile touched Xu Yang's lips.

"Perhaps you should answer my question first," Xu Yang replied. "Who are you, and why are you present in this place? This valley is filled with the skeletons of the human race's most powerful cultivators. What precisely transpired here countless years ago?"

The soul of the venerable-looking elder began to tremble uncontrollably, as if the full horror of that ancient, brutal war was replaying in his mind.

"I suppose I am a survivor," the soul began. "When the great calamity struck, my beloved sacrificed her life force to preserve the core of my soul. But aside from me, no other soul here remains intact. I have guarded this place for over a hundred thousand years.

Few realize that the cataclysmic war of that era was orchestrated by a conspiracy involving the Six Royal Veins of the Human-Spirit Lineage. These Six Royal Veins, now the dominant force of the Kunlun Divine Path, laid an elaborate trap, leading tens of thousands of peak cultivators, each representing their own civilization, to their demise here in the Valley of Two Realms.

Under the guise of leading humanity, the Six Royal Veins of the Human-Spirit lured representatives of all the diverse and flourishing cultivation civilizations to this very spot. Then, invoking the will and power of a supreme deity, they annihilated us all, reducing us to mere dust and leaving behind only these pallid skeletons. Each bone here holds an unspeakable history of sorrow.

Since the conclusion of that war over a hundred thousand years ago, the Six Royal Veins have reigned unrivaled within the human domain, becoming the supreme masters of the Kunlun Divine Path and its most loyal defenders and custodians. To us, they are nothing more than a band of shameless sycophants."

This revelation gave Xu Yang a profound new perspective on the Six Royal Veins. They were far from the noble figures they presented themselves to be, self-proclaimed representatives of Kunlun Divine Path's civilization, yet in truth, they were nothing but devils cloaked in human skin. They had resorted to unscrupulous means, even raising their blades against their own human kin. Now, they paraded as the leaders of the Kunlun Divine Path, enslaving the monster beast race. How could Xu Yang possibly tolerate such a legacy?

"Heh, it seems the Six Royal Veins are indeed due for a war to cleanse their ranks," Xu Yang mused. "Their desires have swelled over the years, gradually abandoning the true principles that a human cultivator should uphold. They committed such monstrous atrocities over a hundred thousand years ago, yet they still present themselves as righteous enforcers. Rest assured, I am now fully aware of your past suffering. Soon, I will lead the forces of the monster beast race to jointly challenge the legacy of the Six Royal Veins."

The human elder, still only a soul, gazed deeply at Xu Yang, his eyes brimming with gratitude.

"If you can truly achieve this—overthrowing the Six Royal Veins and ending their tyrannical rule over the Kunlun Divine Path—then, as a gesture of thanks, I will reveal an even greater secret to you. The profound secret concerning the true source of the Kunlun Divine Path's power is actually concealed within Kunlun Mountain itself. The sole entrance, or rather, the sealed origin of Kunlun Mountain's genuine legacy power, lies at the very summit of Kunlun. The day the Six Royal Veins fall will undoubtedly mark the day the Kunlun Divine Path's greatest secret is unveiled to the world."

These were the soul's final words. As he finished speaking, his essence spontaneously dissipated into nothingness, vanishing from the void. With the disappearance of his soul energy, the countless skeletons scattered around them also seemed to develop fragmented cracks.

"So that's it," Xu Yang realized. "That individual had spent years using his spiritual energy to protect the remains of these loyal companions who once fought by his side. In truth, these piles of skeletons had long been drained of all their life force by those bloodthirsty flying insects."

As Xu Yang spoke, he instinctively gazed up at the blood moon hanging in the sky, and a sudden understanding dawned upon him.

"Little Gray," he pondered, "have you noticed that the bloodline auras in this valley all converge towards the blood moon? What if that other imperial bloodline, said to be your equal, is hidden within that very blood? Do you think such a possibility could exist?"

Xu Yang's sudden question made Little Gray, perched on his shoulder, widen his eyes in disbelief.

"Master, how can you even conceive such a notion?" Little Gray exclaimed. "Are you suggesting that another potential monster beast emperor, a holder of a quasi-emperor bloodline, is sealed within this blood moon? How could that be?"

Xu Yang's smile deepened. "Nothing is impossible," he replied. "I once received guidance from the Moon God's legacy myself. Hundreds of thousands of years ago, in my own time, the moon in the greater world was sealed. The Sky Without a Moon lasted for countless millennia, a situation I ultimately brought to an end. Now, to see the Nine Heavens Mysterious Moon manifest as a blood moon, I have every reason to believe it harbors even more profound, hidden secrets. If that's the case, then I'll take you up to the moon, and we'll see exactly what secrets are hidden there. It might just resolve the one remaining mystery in my heart."

Xu Yang was always a man of swift action, refusing to let unresolved questions linger in his mind. With this fully formed idea, he wasted no more time. He scooped Little Gray from his shoulder and ascended directly into the sky, surging towards the blood moon.

Currently, Xu Yang still possessed the protection of the Supreme Law of Reincarnation. Thus, the moment the brilliant moonlight totem radiating from his right hand flared, all the powerful stellar repulsive forces from the mid-heaven instantly vanished from his person. In other words, with the Supreme Law of the Bright Moon as his shield, Xu Yang was now recognized as one of its own, fully accepted by the celestial body. With hardly any effort, he and Little Gray successfully landed on the moon's surface.

Indeed, an incredibly dense crimson aura permeated every corner of the blood moon's space. Xu Yang, with Little Gray beside him, walked across endless crimson ruins, venturing towards an unknown destination. Xu Yang chose that particular direction because the Bright Moon Law in his palm seemed to be guiding him, suggesting that the answer he sought lay at its culmination.

It was unclear how much time passed, but fortunately, Xu Yang utilized the influence of the Grand Realm's space-time law to halt the flow of time and space around them within the blood moon. This prevented them from wasting too much time and potentially disrupting the world's progress.

Eventually, at the end of their relentless journey, a faint crimson glow suddenly flickered into view. "Oh my, Master, look!" Little Gray exclaimed. "There really is something new over there!"
