Chapter 159: Don't Come Over

As Shi Kun and his group fought fiercely against the giant blood bats, Zu An quietly carried Chu Chuyan deeper into the passage.

"I wonder if these bats carry any viruses," Zu An worried. So many bats had been flying around, and the air was filled with their blood and flesh. In his previous life, bats were known as reservoirs of viruses, the source of many diseases. Even Bear Grylls, a man at the top of the food chain, would roast bats for hours until they were thoroughly cooked before daring to eat them.

However, this thought was quickly cast aside. With death possibly just around the corner, who had time to worry about viruses?

After running for an unknown duration, he suddenly vaguely saw a cave entrance at the end of the passage. He breathed a sigh of relief, thinking they had finally reached the end of the tunnel.

Although the passage was generally safe, it offered only one path with no hidden places to conceal themselves. If Shi Kun caught up, it would mean certain death.

Though he knew dangers awaited beyond the entrance, he was determined to find a hiding spot inside and not venture deeper. If he didn't disturb the zombie army, there might still be a glimmer of hope.

It would be best if Shi Kun, the fool, continued deeper underground and was annihilated by the zombie army, leaving nothing but dust.

He cautiously stepped into the cave entrance when suddenly, two powerful gusts of wind slashed down towards his head.

Zu An, already prepared, activated his Sunflower Phantom Steps, instantly appearing several feet away.

Once steady, he finally saw what had attacked him: two axe-wielding zombie warriors.

The two zombie warriors, confident in their strike, were momentarily stunned when their attack missed. They couldn't comprehend how their target had vanished instantly before their eyes.

However, after a brief moment of surprise, instinct drove them to continue their pursuit, axes raised.

Zu An shook his head. These two zombie warriors were, at best, Grade 2, no match for him, and far inferior in speed.

With Chu Chuyan in his arms, Zu An naturally avoided prolonging the fight and immediately bolted. The two zombies indeed couldn't keep up with him, but their pursuit alerted other axe-wielding warriors. New pursuers constantly joined them along the way, and soon about twenty or so warriors gathered, beginning to encircle him.

Zu An frowned, already feeling the pressure. He thought this wouldn't do; more and more zombies would be alerted, and he would be finished sooner or later.

While nimbly evading the zombies, he glanced around for possible hiding places.

To his disappointment, although this level of the cavern was much wider, the surroundings were still bare stone walls, with no place to hide.

"Your movement technique is incredible," Chu Chuyan, held in his arms, observed. All this way, Zu An had weaved through the horde of zombie warriors like a butterfly flitting among flowers, not a single attack touching him.

She had seen his technique during the family competition, but what he displayed now was a world apart from then.

As a cultivation genius, she was naturally curious about various amazing techniques.

This guy had truly hidden his strength to this extent. No wonder Shi Kun's group had suffered several losses at his hands; he was indeed a bit... cunning.

"My master taught it to me. I rely on it to save my life," Zu An thought, it was easiest to blame everything on his non-existent master.

"Your master is a peculiar person. Even I can't discern the method behind this technique," Chu Chuyan said. Though her cultivation was gone, her keen eye remained. Watching him, she had been dazzled, unable to grasp any of its intricacies.

"He is indeed somewhat extraordinary," Zu An replied, recalling the old man Mi's appearance, always feeling he was unfathomable.

"What about your other skill... the one that makes people pregnant?" This was what Chu Chuyan was most curious about. She had personally witnessed Shi Kun's miserable state earlier, and the key was, how could such a skill exist in the world? A magical movement technique was not surprising, but this skill utterly defied her understanding.

Now, she realized that when Xue'er tried to kill him in the mansion, she had unexpectedly failed. At the time, everyone couldn't understand why a Grade 5 expert would suddenly suffer such unbearable abdominal pain. It seemed she had most likely been afflicted by this skill.

Thinking of a young girl suffering such a shameful skill, Chu Chuyan could fully imagine how furious Xue'er must have been afterward.

"It's not real pregnancy; it just makes people experience the feeling of pregnancy and childbirth. However, it comes at a great cost, and I can't keep using it, otherwise, I'd torture those bastards like Shi Kun to death," Zu An changed the subject. "Wife, if you're curious, I don't have to use this skill. I could actually get you pregnant and let you try."

Chu Chuyan was speechless. This guy couldn't go three sentences without teasing her, but having been together for so long, she had grown used to his sweet talk and wasn't angered. "Your speed and strength greatly increased after you harmed yourself just now. Did your master teach you that too?"

"Yes, the cultivation method I practice is quite special," Zu An said, thinking of the mysterious old man Mi. That guy seemed to hide too many secrets and dangers; he wasn't sure whether to tell Chu Chuyan.

Chu Chuyan, however, didn't press further. In this world, cultivation methods were highly personal matters, as exposing them prematurely could make one a target. The questions she had asked earlier were already a bit too much, but she simply couldn't resist her curiosity before facing death.

She hadn't expected Zu An to reveal everything to her. Did he have no defenses against her at all?

Seeing her fall silent again, Zu An worried she might fall asleep. Just as he was about to find another topic to chat about, a sudden warning surged in his heart, and he quickly leaped to the side.

A long spear pierced the exact spot where he had just been.

There were javelin throwers too!

Zu An had already noticed nine spear-wielding warriors appearing not far away. These zombies, whether in physique or equipment, were clearly much more elite than the axe-wielding warriors from before.

The spear-wielding warriors moved in perfect unison, holding their shields in front of them and their long spears outward, advancing step by step towards Zu An.

Though there were only nine zombies, their synchronized footsteps echoed on the ground, creating a momentum that felt like a thousand soldiers.

Zu An's expression changed. These guys had a neat formation, unlike the disorganized axe-wielding warriors, forcing him to constantly retreat, unable to dodge effectively.

Retreating all the way, he was soon backed into a corner. Zu An knew it would be dangerous to retreat further. Seizing an opportunity, he pushed off with his toes and leaped over their heads.

After all, looking left and right, this was their only weakness.

Who knew that as soon as he leaped into the air, three of the spear-wielding warriors also jumped up, several long spears thrusting towards the two of them from various angles.

Zu An internally cursed. This thing could even jump, and so agilely at that!

Those clumsy axe-wielding warriors had given him a false impression, causing him to suffer a great loss now.

Unable to leverage himself in mid-air, it was too late to dodge. Fortunately, he reacted quickly, raising his wrist and firing a sleeve arrow, which struck one of the spearmen directly.

The spearman shook all over, then fell straight to the ground, twitching a few times before breathing his last.

Zu An, while marveling at how specialized the archery within these armies was, pulled out his Deadly Dagger and blocked a spear. Using the recoil, he shifted a foot to the side, then swiftly moved in close to another spearman.

The Deadly Dagger scraped against its body, producing a harsh, grating sound against bone.

He thought the spearman was surely dead, but it acted as if nothing had happened, sweeping its spear towards Chu Chuyan.

Watching the whistling spear, Chu Chuyan would usually dismiss such power, but now it was enough to shatter her bones. She sighed softly, closing her eyes in resignation.

Zu An then realized these creatures were undead, and his Deadly Dagger's effect was probably useless on them. Seeing Chu Chuyan about to perish, Zu An roared, forcibly twisting his body in mid-air to use his back to block the sweeping spear.

His blood surged, but Zu An ignored his injuries. He used the immense force to fly out, leaping clear of the spear formation's encirclement.

Feeling a few drops of warm liquid on her face, Chu Chuyan opened her eyes and saw a trace of blood oozing from Zu An's mouth. With her former cultivation, how could she not understand what had just happened? Her long eyelashes on her beautiful eyes trembled slightly.

"Young Mistress!"

Several green vines flew across the air, smashing the axe-wielding warriors who were about to attack the two of them.

Zu An looked back and saw Qiao Xueying appearing not far away, her flying hair lashing at the zombies one by one. On the other side, Shi Kun and his Grade 4 subordinate were also fighting a group of zombie warriors.

"What are you looking at? I didn't save you for your sake," Qiao Xueying noticed Zu An's gaze and glared back at him fiercely.

Zu An smiled faintly, "I know you're too embarrassed to admit you didn't want me to die. Don't worry, I understand, I understand."

Chu Chuyan: "..."

This guy was truly self-absorbed, and he was even flirting with another woman right in front of her. Why did it feel so strange?

Qiao Xueying noticed his words had made Shi Kun glance frequently their way, and she couldn't help but feel both ashamed and furious. "What nonsense are you spouting? I'll kill you right now!"

Anger from Qiao Xueying +134!

With that, a vine snaked towards him.

Zu An was already prepared and dodged with a laugh. Qiao Xueying wanted to pursue him but was blocked by the re-encircling warriors, forcing her to glare at him with vexation.

Seeing Zu An holding his dream lover and teasing his maidservant, Shi Kun, not far away, felt a wave of annoyance. Looking at the endlessly surging axe-wielding warriors, he snorted, "How dare you block my path? All of you, die!"

A violent surge of wind blades erupted around him. Wherever they passed, the axe-wielding warriors were shredded into bone fragments.

No matter how high these zombies' defenses were, being cut into pieces naturally meant they were utterly dead.

Witnessing this, the spear-wielding warriors who had been chasing Zu An all turned their spears towards Shi Kun and attacked. The wind blades in the air left only shallow marks on their shields before dissipating.

Watching them advance towards him in formation with their shields raised, Shi Kun's face darkened. He swept his sword horizontally, unleashing a ten-meter-long ethereal sword energy that instantly cut the spearmen's shields in half.

Looking at the half-shields in their hands, the spearmen suddenly opened their mouths and let out a series of shrill roars.

"Oh no, they're calling their companions!" Qiao Xueying's expression changed.

Meanwhile, Zu An took advantage of the chaos to continue running deeper inside. Originally, he had wanted to seize the opportunity to run back, but Shi Kun was guarding the way, so he had no choice but to leave the area, hoping that the zombie warriors and Shi Kun would fight to mutual destruction.

Seeing him run, Shi Kun also grew anxious and quickly tried to chase him. He knew this was no place to linger; if that guy ventured any deeper, even he couldn't guarantee his own safety.

However, the remaining spearmen blocked his path. Just as he was getting annoyed, he suddenly noticed Zu An retreating step by step. He couldn't help but laugh, "You brat, why aren't you running now?"

Zu An looked into the depths of the cave, swallowing hard. "Brother Ri Bi, how many spear warriors can you handle?"

Shi Kun was stunned. Suddenly, a rhythmic stomping sound, hitting deep in their hearts, echoed through the tunnel. Looking closely, rows of spear-wielding warriors flooded in from another large door.

Shi Kun's face also changed, and he couldn't help but curse, "You bastard, Zu! Don't you dare come over here!"
