Chapter 1234: Dragon’s Nine Offspring

A range of expressions crossed their faces.

“I didn’t expect to witness such a good show right before we leave,” Yun Jianyue remarked, clearly enjoying the schadenfreude. As far as she was concerned, she was happy to watch the demon clans tear each other apart.

Yan Xuehen frowned, “After all, the Azure Hill Country Lord treated us warmly yesterday. We should stay and see what happens.”

Yu Yanluo also nodded. “Indeed. She even gave us Azure Flowing Flowers. We ought to find a way to repay her kindness.”

Zu An breathed a sigh of relief. This was good; it saved him from speaking up and potentially raising suspicions.

He was also curious about who could be so brazen as to march directly into another country’s royal palace. Even if the ruler wanted to see them, they couldn’t possibly come out, or they would lose face.

Sure enough, a female official soon stepped out to block the way. “Our Country Lord is indisposed today and unable to receive visitors. Please leave, Your Excellency.”

Everyone present was a top master, and with their focused attention, the voices from outside the palace gates could not escape their ears.

“I, your king, have traveled thousands of miles. How can I simply leave because of your words?” the boisterous voice resounded. “Quickly, have your Country Lord come out! I possess all sorts of elixirs and remedies; whatever ailment she has, I can cure it.”

“Who is that, acting so arrogantly?” Yun Jianyue chuckled. The Holy Cult had no shortage of similar personalities.

Yan Xuehen’s expression soured. “That flamboyant attitude reminds me of the Golden Crow Prince.”

Yu Yanluo also sighed. “The demon race is generally more outspoken.”

Even though she possessed some demon bloodline herself, she wasn’t particularly accustomed to life here.

“Please leave at once, Your Excellency. We do not welcome uninvited guests!” The Azure Hill Country Lord held a high status in the hearts of her subjects, and being so openly insulted by the visitor, her people were already seething with indignation.

“How dare you speak to this king in such a manner!”

Immediately, the sounds of a scuffle erupted from that direction, quickly followed by grunts, groans, and screams as several fox guards were sent flying.

Then, a figure stepped directly through the air. Dressed in purple robes, he had very distinctive features: two horns on his head—it was unclear if they were from a dragon or a deer—and a very large mouth with a pronounced underbite.

Yan Xuehen instinctively frowned. “Are there really so many demon masters?”

For the individual before them was clearly also a Grandmaster.

Human Grandmasters were typically rare, each a prominent figure in their respective regions.

Yet here, among the demon race, they seemed to encounter Grandmasters frequently.

Yu Yanluo, who was nearby, remarked, “He carries the aura of a sea creature, and he appears to be of royal lineage.”

“Sea creature?” Zu An was startled. He had encountered many members of the demon race, but this seemed to be his first time seeing one from the sea tribes.

He had, however, seen the skeleton of the ancient Mermaid Queen in a secret realm before.

“Your Excellency, you’ve trespassed into the Azure Hill Royal Palace and injured my subordinates. Isn’t that rather overbearing?” A cold voice rang out as Tushan Yu, having learned of the commotion, arrived.

Yan Xuehen let out a soft gasp. “She truly is indisposed. She looks remarkably haggard.”

“Is she? I actually find her even more captivating than yesterday, truly a sight to behold,” Yun Jianyue mused, scrutinizing Tushan Yu. Though only a single night had passed, the once innocent girl now exuded a hint of mature allure.

Zu An couldn’t help but look her way, and their eyes met for a brief moment.

Tushan Yu awkwardly averted her gaze, her expression complex. However, when she looked back at the large-mouthed man opposite her, a trace of coldness appeared on her face.

“Hahaha, the Azure Hill Country Lord truly lives up to her reputation! What an unparalleled beauty; my long journey here was certainly not in vain!” The large-mouthed man’s eyes widened and fixed on Tushan Yu, unable to tear his gaze away.

Tushan Yu felt a surge of disgust. Compared to this man before her, Zu An truly was a gentleman.

She said coldly, “Chiwen, strictly speaking, your father and I are of the same generation. You are being far too presumptuous.”

Evidently, her subordinates had informed her, and she now recognized him.

“Chiwen?” Zu An felt the name sounded vaguely familiar.

Yu Yanluo, beside him, had already begun to explain. “Chiwen is the Dragon King’s ninth son.”

“The Dragon has nine sons, each distinct,” even Yan Xuehen had heard this adage.

Yun Jianyue chuckled. “Of course they are different. Legend has it the Dragon King is an extremely lecherous fellow who mates with females of all sorts of races. That’s why his children are all so unique.”

Yu Yanluo further explained, “Chiwen is the child born from the union of the Dragon King and a mermaid. Moreover, the Dragon King doesn’t just have nine sons; it’s simply that only these nine mothers had respectable backgrounds and formal titles. The children of the other ordinary women remained nameless and obscure.”

“A mermaid…” Zu An’s heart stirred. He seemed to have quite a connection with mermaids.

At that moment, Chiwen’s expression darkened. “Tushan Yu, you truly overestimate yourself. To put it nicely, you’re the Azure Hill Country Lord; to put it bluntly, everyone knows you use your beauty to serve others. Do you think that by latching onto Hu Qianxiao and becoming his woman, you’re qualified to speak to me like this?”

“Others might fear Hu Qianxiao, but our Dragon Clan does not. Even the Tiger Clan princess was snatched by my father to be his concubine back then.”

“Hu Qianxiao?” Everyone looked at Yu Yanluo.

Yu Yanluo replied, “Hu Qianxiao is the King of the Tiger Clan. The Beast Clans are among the most powerful races in the demon realm, far surpassing our Snake Clan. Their strength is formidable, rivalling even the Royal Court. However, they are internally divided, with the Lion Clan and Tiger Clan locked in fierce contention, neither willing to yield. This internal strife is likely also a result of the Demon Emperor’s balancing tactics.”

Zu An’s expression was peculiar; even in this alternate world, there was a rivalry between lions and tigers.

“What’s this about the Tiger Clan princess being taken by the Dragon King as a concubine?” Yun Jianyue was more interested in that detail.

Yu Yanluo explained, “Bi’an, the seventh of the Dragon King’s nine sons, was born of the Dragon King and the Tiger Clan princess. Additionally, the eldest prince, Qiuniu, was born from the Dragon King and a cow; the second prince, Yazi, from the Dragon King and a jackal; the third prince, Chaofeng, from the Dragon King and a bird; the fourth prince, Pulao, from the Dragon King and a toad; the fifth prince, Suanni, from a lion; the sixth prince, Baxia, also from a lion; and the eighth prince, Fuxi, from a green dragon…”

After listening to her explanation, the expressions on everyone’s faces were truly priceless. Yun Jianyue patted Zu An. “I thought you were quite the womanizer already, but compared to the Dragon King, you’re as pure as a white lily!”

Yan Xuehen’s face flushed slightly, clearly sharing the same sentiment.

Zu An was dumbfounded. The Dragon King truly wasn’t picky, even consorting with toads!

However, his attention quickly returned to the recently mentioned Hu Qianxiao. Could he be the one who sent Tushan Yu?

At this moment, Tushan Yu’s face was flushed, whether from anger or embarrassment. “Chiwen, stop your slanderous accusations!”

Chiwen stroked his chin, appraising her. “Excellent, excellent. You’re beautiful even when you’re angry. You’re certainly worthy of being my woman. I shall claim you today! By the time Hu Qianxiao finds out, our children will be grown, hahaha!”

After a burst of arrogant laughter, he had already lunged toward Tushan Yu, reaching out to caress her cheek.
