Xu Yang smiled. "If that day ever comes, I guarantee you won't live to see it."

"Powerful human, before I leave, I want to confirm one thing with you: Is there any way for you to abandon your protection of the Merfolk?"

Xu Yang scoffed. "Theoretically, it's possible. Our destination is the Glacier Ruins. If you tell me its location now, everything is negotiable. Unfortunately, you don't have that leverage, do you?"

The Flood Dragon leader's face immediately turned ashen. Although he now understood Xu Yang and his companions' objective, he was utterly helpless.

Xu Yang had previously deduced that the secret of the Glacier Ruins must be profoundly linked to the Supreme Sea Pearl. This meant that only the Merfolk could unlock this secret.

After hearing Xu Yang's words, the Flood Dragon Emperor sighed helplessly. "Retreat!"

Upon hearing this, the Flood Dragon Emperor's attendants stared dumbfounded at their leader. "Lord Flood Dragon Emperor, are you sure you're truly retreating like this? If we abandon this precious opportunity, it will be far more difficult to return and strike again."

The Flood Dragon Emperor snorted in furious anger, vanishing from the sea surface, leaving his bewildered attendants frozen on the spot.

The Merfolk Queen lightly waved her hand, and a brilliantly glowing dark gold portal appeared out of nowhere on the sea surface. The center of this portal was exceptionally deep and dark, like a void portal leading to other planes. The aura emanating from within made even Xu Yang, strong as he was, shiver.

Without further hesitation, Xu Yang and his two companions exchanged glances, then proactively followed the Merfolk Queen into the teleportation portal.

When they opened their eyes again, the scene before them had completely changed. The group had arrived inside an incredibly cold, tomb-like palace.

"This is the epic forbidden ground of our Merfolk clan. It holds the crucial core secrets of our lineage. I have brought you here hoping it provides clues for your quest."

Xu Yang hadn't expected the Merfolk Queen to be so sincere. It was evident that this woman was a person of great resolve.

Under the Queen's guidance, Xu Yang and his two companions continued deeper into the cold inner space. Ancient myths and legends of the Merfolk were carved on the stone walls around them. The Queen seemed to have unlocked long-sealed racial memories, telling Xu Yang and his companions about the glorious past of the Merfolk.
