Chapter 326: Desperate Struggle

“What exactly is it?” Yunyao asked. “What’s so strange about that iron ball?”

“Big star, this dead snake has exploited almost every human weakness for survival,” Chen Junnnan said. “When you know there’s an iron ball about to drop from the sky, where would you hide?”

Yunyao thought for a moment. The first choice would naturally be a corner, but if that wasn’t possible, the next best thing would be to press as close to the wall as possible.

But according to Chen Junnnan… why was the display screen unaffected?

“I really can’t guess,” Yunyao said, shaking her head.

“Then I’ll tell you, little master…” Chen Junnnan said with a sly smile. “Out of everyone here, I’m probably the only one who knows that the thing up there looks like a ball, but it’s actually a spiky ‘wowo tou’.”

“Ah?” Yunyao paused. “Wowo… wowo tou?”

Though the answer surprised Yunyao, it instantly gave her a vivid image.

“That’s right,” Chen Junnnan replied. “The thing falling from the sky has a small hollowed-out section at the bottom, perfectly fitting the spot for the display screen.”

“That’s just ridiculous…” Yunyao said, though she felt it made a strange kind of sense.

In Di Ji You Xi games, several rounds are usually played in a day, and repairing equipment each time would be a hassle. The best approach is to kill without damaging the room’s devices.

“Big star, even if someone desperately wants to avoid the iron ball, it’s hard to think of dismantling the display screen in the room and then squatting in the center,” Chen Junnnan said.

He had a point. When you know an iron ball is about to drop, how many people would choose to squat in the middle of the room?

This also explained why Di She used the ceiling to block the iron ball, so no one could see its true form.

“So, you took apart the display screen?”

“Yeah, that display screen was held up by an iron pipe, and I could break it with a chair. But problems came one after another—if I couldn’t vote, I’d be breaking the rules.”

“You, wait a minute.” Yunyao interrupted Chen Junnnan and asked, “Even if that iron ball’s bottom is like a wowo tou, when it falls, there must be some deviation. A small display screen might escape major damage, but a person’s body is much larger than that. How would you…?”

“So, I got a little hurt…” Chen Junnnan said, unable to hide his pride. “That doesn’t matter, though. Luckily, I’m a genius! I thought of a way to switch rooms… cough cough…”

Before he could finish, Chen Junnnan broke into a violent cough, one that sounded painfully wrenching.

“A minor injury? You, you should stop talking for now…” Yunyao sighed. “Chen Junnnan, just hang in there. The game will be over in a few more questions.”

“No…” Chen Junnnan steadied his breathing and said to Yunyao, “The game won’t end for me unless either that old lecher or I die here. Even if you all can finish, I can’t.”

Yunyao fell silent for a moment, not knowing how to persuade him. Chen Junnnan sounded seriously injured, yet he seemed more eager to boast about his exploits.

“Fine then…” Yunyao eventually gave in. “So… quickly tell me how you managed to get into another room…”

“Hey!” Chen Junnnan sounded thrilled. “You should have asked that earlier! Come on, little master will tell you all about it.”

Yunyao never imagined that when the iron ball fell, Chen Junnnan got hit but then grabbed onto its spikes and rose with it back to the ceiling.

According to him, for such a large iron ball to move along the chains on the ceiling, there must be plenty of space up there—enough for a person to move around.

“Next came little master’s grand performance…” Chen Junnnan laughed. “At first, I tried jumping into a room without a ceiling and then activated ‘Ti Zui’ again. Just as I expected, the iron ball still followed.”

“So that’s what you meant by… being able to ignore all rules and control the iron ball’s landing spot…” Yunyao found it incredible. “But this isn’t really controlling it—it’s just making the iron ball keep chasing you…”

“Are you saying it’s not control?”

“I…” Yunyao knew that if their roles were reversed, she would never come up with such a desperate strategy.

The iron ball had deviations each time it fell—who knew when it might crush Chen Junnnan’s head? Yet he kept summoning it right above him, time after time.

“Later, little master got even bolder,” Chen Junnnan said, coughing a few more times. “Since the iron ball can fall when I’m in a room, what if I stand on the ceiling—could I kill someone below?”

“You’re absolutely crazy…” Yunyao couldn’t help but retort. “Is this the tactic you always use in games?”

“Yeah,” Chen Junnnan nodded. “With a brain a hundred times sharper than Lao Qiao’s, and moves a thousand times more agile than Lao Qi’s, plus my life motto of ‘where there’s a road, a way will appear’—what game in this world can’t I win?”

“That’s way too far-fetched!” Yunyao exclaimed. “You’re basically gambling with your life!”

“But isn’t it all about gambling with your life?” Chen Junnnan chuckled. “Big star, now you know everything. I need you to do me a favor.”

“What favor…?”

Chen Junnnan thought for a moment before answering, “There are only forty-eight questions in total, and we’ve already had thirty, so the iron ball will drop at most six more times.”

“That’s right.”

“I want you to help me—in those six drops… smash that old lecher a million times.” Chen Junnnan said.

“What do you think I am?” Yunyao felt like spending time with Chen Junnnan was making her a bit crazy too. “My ‘Hui Xiang’ is ‘Strong Luck,’ not ‘Woodpecker.’ How could I possibly smash him a million times?”

“But little master’s brain only goes this far…” Chen Junnnan said. “My tactic is stuck. That old lecher doesn’t have a ceiling above his head, so he’d spot me for sure. Once he does, he’ll figure out my strategy.”

“So that’s how it is…” Yunyao nodded. “To save himself, he has plenty of options—like lifting the iron ball with his hands or, like you, dismantling the display screen and hiding in the center.”

“Exactly. So, what should we do next?” Chen Junnnan asked.

Yunyao slowly closed her eyes after hearing this. Yes, this wasn’t the time to praise Chen Junnnan—the most important step was still ahead.

Di She was still alive.

With so few questions left, how could they use those six opportunities to smash him to death?
