Chapter 1004: Gathering and Parting

The six “White Donkeys” surrounding Bai Lingmiao consisted of two lamas, two White Lotus devotees, and two evil spirits.

As he saw Bai Lingmiao, holding the twelve-petal twin lotus, sitting on a Kongming lantern surrounded by the six “White Donkeys,” Li Huowang found the scene exceptionally familiar.

His pupils constricted slightly, and he suddenly remembered seeing this exact scene on a wall beneath the ancestral hall in Niuxin Village.

He didn't know what it meant, but Li Huowang instinctively felt it was absolutely not a good sign!

Seeing Wusheng Laomu about to touch the half-dragon, half-human Bai Lingmiao, Li Huowang contorted his body, directly blocking her way, and raised his military saber. "Don't even think about touching her!"

However, at that very moment, Li Huowang saw Wusheng Laomu's figure in front of him gradually fade, and another figure emerged from within—it was Yang Na, her face filled with urgency, rushing towards him.

Looking at the familiar tear mole on her face, Li Huowang's expression showed extreme internal struggle, and he found himself unable to lift the military saber in his hand.

Yang Na from reality and Bai Lingmiao from Daliang, existing in different worlds, were both the people he cared about most. When these two figures simultaneously appeared in Li Huowang's mind, he could no longer maintain his composure.

Li Huowang's body began to crack, blood and internal organs splattering everywhere. His body gradually started to split front and back, forming two Li Huowangs.

A pale right hand, missing a finger, reached out, effortlessly passing through Li Huowang's splitting body, and gently touched Bai Lingmiao's brow.

The instant they touched, Li Huowang's four eyes saw Bai Lingmiao's and Yang Na's bodies instantly dematerialize, as if they were merely projections.

As their bodies dematerialized, something hidden within them began to overlap. The true form behind the projections quickly emerged: Wusheng Laomu, the real Wusheng Laomu.

"Wasn't I right? This is the true existence. We are all projections. No matter which side, they are all merely projections of reality under sunlight from different angles." A familiar voice echoed in Li Huowang's ear, but quickly faded away.

Scattered specks of light passed through the Yak Gate, gradually converging on the "White Donkeys." Soon, the bodies of the six seated "White Donkeys" were progressively obscured, eventually forming six prayer beads, suspended in a fan shape behind Wusheng Laomu.

In an instant, a gentle white light began to spread, gradually dispelling the chaos of Baiyujing. The Dao of compassion and death continuously merged, affecting the surroundings.

And at this close proximity, Li Huowang heard some sounds—a kind of overlapping triple voice: "Huowang! Act now!"

Upon hearing the overlapping triple voice, the fragmented Li Huowang also re-merged. He gazed blankly at Wusheng Laomu before him, momentarily unsure of how to face her, or in what capacity.

"Do you know what the Three Bodies are? Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya, Nirmanakaya. These are the Three Bodies. And I am beyond the old Three Bodies." Qingwang Lai's voice resonated again.

"This is maddening!" With Li Huowang's roar, the malevolent energy around him violently surged outwards. He rushed forward, staring nervously at Wusheng Laomu before him.

"Who exactly are you now? Are you Yang Na? Or Bai Lingmiao? Or something else entirely? If you are the true one, then who is the real me?"

As Li Huowang began to ponder this question, his overlapping body once again became unstable.

Images from two different worlds continuously appeared around Li Huowang, sometimes even simultaneously.

Wusheng Laomu shook her head slightly, and gestured for him to look up.

Li Huowang also looked up, following her gaze, and saw that the hole in the firmament had grown even larger, with black water still stained with the blood of the Si Ming.

Wusheng Laomu extended her long sleeve, covered in white feathers, wrapped it around the roaring General-Minister Head nearby, and presented it to Li Huowang.

Li Huowang looked at the roaring General-Minister Head, took a deep breath, and took it. He pulled open his own chest, and slammed the General-Minister Head against his rapidly beating heart.

"I don't care who you are," he declared, "when this is over, send Bai Lingmiao back! Otherwise, I'll never let you go!"

"Thump-thump-thump~" Li Huowang heard his heart beat faster and faster, exploding like war drums in his ears. Overwhelming malevolent energy, as if solidified, enveloped Li Huowang's entire body.

"Kill!" Li Huowang violently swung the spine sword in his hand, rushed out of the ruins, and entered the woodland to his left.

In the rain-drenched woods, gunshots and sounds of battle ceaselessly echoed. Various corpses lay strewn on the ground, blood and rainwater intertwined, indistinguishable.

When he saw Banan Xu pressing a gun to an enemy's neck and blowing it apart, Li Huowang, his single eye bloodshot and veins bulging, immediately charged forward without hesitation.

With a single swing, he sliced off one man's head. Then Li Huowang leapt high into the air, and with his mouth, tore off half of another person's face.

Just as a person on the left was about to raise their gun and aim, a graceful figure flashed by. The disheveled Yang Na, with a single slash, cut off both their fingers and the gun.

Li Huowang, wielding his saber with one hand, charged into the battlefield, fighting with continuous roars. Against the completely frenzied Li Huowang, these black-clad individuals were no match.

In an instant, they were decimated. Corpses piled up on the ground, and even as the rain washed over them, the air remained thick with the stench of blood.

Suddenly, Li Huowang felt a shadow overhead. When he looked up, he saw several inverted black mountains pressing down on him.

Just as it was about to swallow Li Huowang again, his entire body trembled violently. The inverted black mountains swayed like a mirage, and then rapidly vanished before Li Huowang.

Wiping the blood from his face with the back of his hand, Li Huowang yelled to the left, "Zhao Shuangdian! Stop fighting! Lead everyone else back to Baiyujing! Hurry!"

"Don't panic, we might not necessarily lose." Despite the current situation, Zhao Shuangdian remained remarkably calm as she reloaded her gun.

Li Huowang wanted to explain something, but he opened his mouth and, for a moment, didn't know what to say. His expression turned anxious, and at this moment, he forgot what he was truly afraid of.

Zhao Lei, missing an ear, staggered past him. Gasping for breath, he held a severed hand. He bit fiercely into the severed hand, then charged forward again.

Not far away, Wu Qi gripped a syringe, and fiercely plunged it into someone's body. As the liquid was injected, the person's tongue began to swell, compressing their windpipe.

Seeing others getting more deeply entangled, Li Huowang reached into his bosom and grabbed something forcefully, shoving it into his mouth. The surrounding rainwater instantly became transparent again, and the words that had been stuck in his throat finally burst out.

"Their elephants have already charged!"

At this very moment, Li Huowang once again saw Fusheng Tian—that utterly despairing Fusheng Tian. Fear began to surge within him, but it was constantly countered by the malevolent energy.

Having warned Zhao Shuangdian, just as Li Huowang was about to reach into his own brain again to retrieve all his memories of Fusheng Tian, he then saw Fusheng Tian in the distance glance at him.

And with that simple glance, Li Huowang's body disintegrated.
