Chapter 89: 抢宝

As the dwarf gloated and Han Li harbored his intentions,

Two more figures leaped out from the Seven Mysteries Sect. After jumping from the crowd, they immediately dashed towards the dwarf at lightning speed. These were the remaining two martial uncles of Wang Juechu.

Both men wore expressions of profound grief, clearly heartbroken by the burly man's death. As a result, they harbored intense hatred for the Golden Light Immortal. Ignoring whether the dwarf was a sword immortal or not, their sole desire was to kill him and avenge the man's death.

Sect Leader Wang initially intended to stop their reckless actions. However, he then reasoned that the dwarf, who practiced demonic arts, would eventually have to be confronted. Moreover, his two martial uncles were the only ones who might pose a threat. Rather than stopping them now, it would be better to let them fight to the death while they were filled with the desire for revenge.

With this thought, Wang Juechu swallowed the words he had intended to call them back.

Having learned his lesson recently, the Golden Light Immortal dared not underestimate his opponents this time. He directed the gray light, pointing at the two men, and the gray glow instantly transformed into a long arc, flying straight towards them.

The scholar, one of the two opponents, saw the gray light, which resembled a flying sword, hurtling towards them. He raised an eyebrow, and with a flick of his hand, a thin silver thread shot out from his sleeve, meeting the gray glow head-on. This caused the gray light to pause momentarily, but it then continued forward as if unaffected. Clearly, the silver thread had little effect.

Others couldn't discern what the silver thread was, but Han Li, with the extraordinary vision granted by his Evergreen Arts, saw it distinctly. It was clearly dozens of silver needles connected in a straight line. Han Li was greatly interested, wondering what method the scholar used to propel such light, thin needles with such powerful force.

Seeing that the silver thread had no effect, the scholar didn't panic. He bent his body and suddenly spun like a top. Immediately, countless cold glints, both large and small, shot out from his spinning figure. These glints split into two paths: one formed a silver stream that directly collided with the gray light, producing loud clattering sounds and holding the gray glow suspended in mid-air; the other flew directly towards the dwarf, striking his golden shield with a spectacular clanging sound.

The stream of cold glints that clashed with the gray glow continuously shed debris and fragments, but their original forms could not be discerned due to their incompleteness. However, the cold glints that bounced off the golden shield were intact and undamaged. These were various hidden weapons: throwing knives, bodhi seeds, iron lotus seeds, coin darts, and a diverse array of other items, some of which were unfamiliar and nameless.

The Golden Light Immortal paused for a moment, then curled his lip. He didn't believe these common metals could block his precious item for long.

"Hah!" A thunderous roar, like spring thunder, reverberated through the entire arena, startling everyone.

Only then did people notice that the gray-robed man who had run out with the scholar had, at some unknown point, drawn the precious sword from his back. He was now walking steadily towards the gray light, and from the tip of his sword, a white glow, more than two inches long, was emerging. This white glow flickered erratically, radiating an intimidating chill.

"Sword Qi!" Someone, no one knew who, was the first to shout out the name of this supreme sword technique, longed for by all swordsmen.

With a boom, the entire arena erupted in excitement!

If flying swords were merely legendary, then Sword Qi was a myth in the martial world, the aspiration of all swordsmen.

Now, with both flying swords and Sword Qi appearing consecutively and a confrontation about to begin, how could the bystanders not feel their blood boil, as if their lives had truly been worthwhile!

At this moment, Jia Tianlong was far from excited; instead, he felt a chilling sensation and cold sweat pouring down. Only now did he truly understand the meaning of delayed realization and intense fear.

Although he had known that the Seven Mysteries Sect concealed three great masters, he had never imagined that they would be so powerful as to be able to use Sword Qi. If he hadn't invited the Golden Light Immortal, a cultivator, to intervene this time, the gray-robed man alone, with his Sword Qi, could have wiped out everyone on his side.

As Jia Tianlong's face turned pale with fear, the gray-robed man had already arrived beneath the gray glow.

At this moment, whether by the scholar's intention or because he had truly exhausted his hidden weapons, his spinning figure suddenly stopped. The silver stream holding back the gray glow also ceased, and the unhindered gray glow naturally descended directly towards the gray-robed man's head.

The gray-robed man, holding his sword with both hands, leaped into the air without fear. He swung his Sword Qi, fiercely cleaving down at the gray light.

With a clear "clang," the gray-robed man fell from mid-air to the ground. He staggered backward several steps, then opened his mouth and spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, his expression becoming dispirited. The front three inches of his long sword's tip had vanished, leaving it blunt.

The gray glow, after taking the blow, also fell to the ground like a bird struck by a bullet. But even so, the gray glow had not lost its brilliance and continued to pulse and flicker on the ground, appearing full of spiritual energy.

Witnessing this scene, both Jia Tianlong's side and the Seven Mysteries Sect members simultaneously gasped. However, the gasps from the Seven Mysteries Sect were filled with joy, while those from Jia Tianlong's side were filled with worry.

The scholar was also overjoyed. He glanced at the dispirited gray-robed man, then at the dwarf. After a slight hesitation, he drifted towards the dwarf, intending to deal with the main enemy first.

Before the scholar had drifted a few steps, the gray-robed man's loud shout of "Duck!" suddenly came from behind him.

The scholar's heart leaped in alarm, and he tried to react, but he felt a chill at his neck as the gray light flew past his eyes. He then saw a headless body run forward a few steps before collapsing to the ground. That figure's back looked eerily familiar. Just as the scholar realized this, he completely lost consciousness.

The Golden Light Immortal was now full of arrogance. He directed the gray glow, which had once again leaped up from the ground, towards the sole surviving gray-robed man among the three masters. He was gloating over having eliminated the scholar with a mere trick.

As he was considering killing the remaining Seven Mysteries Sect members immediately after dealing with the gray-robed man, he suddenly heard a voice from the opposing crowd: "I quite like this flying thing of yours. How about you let me play with it?" Before the words even finished, he felt a powerful spiritual force attach itself to the gray light, forcefully severing his connection to it and seizing its control.

The gray glow, which was originally flying towards the gray-robed man, made a turn in the air and awkwardly flew diagonally into the opposing crowd.

Wherever the gray glow went, everyone panicked and scrambled to get out of the way. Only one ordinary-looking youth, seemingly seventeen or eighteen years old, remained motionless. This youth smiled at the Golden Light Immortal, revealing pearly white teeth that contrasted sharply with his dark skin. Then, he pointed at the gray light, and it obediently landed in his hand.

"A cultivator!" A chill ran through the dwarf's heart, and his face instantly turned deathly pale.
