Chapter 2486

The book *A Mortal’s Journey* has finally concluded.

As I wrote the last character and put down my pen, I felt a great sense of relief, yet also a reluctant emptiness.

I believe many readers who have followed the story from the beginning share this rather complex mix of emotions.

This is the first book I have completed, but I am confident it will not be the last.

I took a look at the publication record for *A Mortal’s Journey*:First uploaded: February 20, 2008First listed for sale: August 1, 2008Completion date: September 23, 2013

The book spanned a total of five years and seven months, reaching over seven million characters. Although it may not compare to some prodigious authors on the website, it truly represents an immense amount of effort and dedication.

The initial concept for *A Mortal’s Journey* alone took nearly three years to develop.

When I first considered writing, I hesitated for a long time before finally deciding to embark on a career as a writer.

After all, as a first-time novelist, I couldn't compare to experienced authors who had already written several books, and I encountered many difficulties and distractions when I began writing.

Just the most basic task of typing on a computer nearly deterred me completely at the beginning.

Before writing *A Mortal’s Journey*, I only knew the most basic computer operations and had never truly typed extensively; I always used the "one-finger typing" method.

I remember typing the first chapter, which was just over two thousand characters. Even though the content was already perfectly clear in my mind, it still took me a full four hours.

However, upon completing that chapter, I felt a sense of accomplishment I had never experienced before.

This feeling was one of the reasons that motivated me to persevere.

But the true driving force that kept me writing *A Mortal’s Journey* day and night until its completion was the love and high regard of its many loyal readers.

Over five years of unwavering support have allowed many readers to develop deep affection for *A Mortal’s Journey*, and it has also helped me connect with many enthusiastic friends.

Here, I wish to express my sincere gratitude and thanks once again to all these readers and book friends!

I believe this joyful feeling of being acknowledged and recognized by others is what every author desires most.

Compared to the original outline, the completed *A Mortal’s Journey* has many added elements, but also some reduced ones.

These elements were deemed unnecessary for *A Mortal’s Journey* and are instead being reserved for establishing a different xianxia world in my new book.

I can now directly announce the title of my new book: *Mo Tian Ji*. It is planned for upload in November.

I have also been conceptualizing this book for quite some time. Although I haven't started writing it yet, I believe it will be an equally captivating novel, and I hope everyone will enjoy it just as much when it's released.

Haha, I'll also use this month-long break to write a good amount of stored chapters so that everyone can have plenty to read when it comes out!

Well, that's all for now!

The next time Wang Yu meets everyone will likely be through *Mo Tian Ji*.

I wish everyone good health and a happy life!
