Just then, earth-shattering war drums boomed from the battle-ships, followed by a hundred super demonic beasts, each resembling a small mountain, rushing out from some of the giant ships and charging furiously forward.

Each of these demonic beasts was over a hundred *zhang* in size. They resembled black rhinoceroses enlarged a hundredfold, and with low roars from their mouths, they charged relentlessly head-on. It was clear they intended to rely on their massive bodies to destroy the city wall in a single strike!

At the same time, various low-level demonic beasts also swarmed out from other giant ships in dense hordes, following the super demonic beasts like a surging tide.

Immediately, demonic energy billowed, and ten thousand beasts roared in unison!

Countless human strongmen appeared in rows atop Yitian City's walls. With a raise of various crossbow-like long-range weapons, fireballs, ice shards, wind blades, and other attacks immediately rained down in dense barrages upon the demonic beast army.

The demonic beasts charging at the forefront, after several rounds of these attacks, had almost no power to resist and plummeted from the sky. Some were instantly killed, turning into bursts of bloody rain, while others became charred husks or frozen blocks, on the verge of death.

For a moment, the demonic beast army lost tens of thousands of low-level demonic beasts, and the entire attack front came to a halt.

However, the most conspicuous rhinoceros-shaped super demonic beasts completely disregarded the attacks from the human strongmen!

A layer of extremely dense yellow light barrier appeared on their bodies. The attacks that landed on it only caused it to flash wildly a few times, without causing the slightest damage.

In a flash, these hundred gigantic demonic beasts reached the city wall and, with their dark horns, forcefully rammed forward. Hundreds of sharp shrieks suddenly erupted. A loud tearing sound ripped through the air!

The light barriers formed by the formations, in the face of these black halos, were as fragile as paper. They were easily cleaved open and vanished in a flash into the city wall, tearing open enormous cracks dozens of *zhang* long.

The human strongmen who happened to be within these cracks were instantly annihilated without any resistance, not even a trace of dust remaining.

Seeing this, the nearby human strongmen naturally blanched with fear. Some panicked strongmen attempted to turn and retreat down from the city wall. But at that very moment, streaks of shimmering light suddenly appeared above them. As the light shimmered, head-sized yellow crystal orbs emerged, each emitting rays of yellow light with a flash.

Wherever the yellow light rays flashed, the human strongmen attempting to flee were bisected, falling to the ground. They were summarily executed on the spot.

"Those who flee in battle shall be slain! Those who disobey orders shall be slain! Those who do not exert themselves to eliminate the enemy shall be slain!" Three chilling voices, like the frost of deepest winter, echoed across the city walls.

Then, with a flash of spiritual light, several Nascent Soul cultivators clad in blood-red armor materialized from the shimmering streaks above. Each was accompanied by five yellow crystal orbs hovering and circling, their faces grim and impassive!

Upon seeing these enforcers appear, the previously somewhat chaotic human strongmen were struck with awe and dread. Not a single one dared to act recklessly, only desperately wielding their weapons in turn, continuously unleashing attacks upon the forces below the city.

For a time, even the protective light barriers of the super demonic beasts were forced to tremble, and they were compelled to halt their advance.

Simultaneously, profound incantations reverberated from within the city. Deep blue grand formations suddenly lit up behind the city walls, followed by a tremendous roar of thunder. Streaks of blue electric arcs, emitting astonishing rumbling sounds, shot forth from these formations, transforming into massive lightning nets, hundreds of *zhang* wide, that descended upon the other side of the city wall.

Amidst the flashing thunder, super demonic beasts and large numbers of nearby low-level demonic beasts were enveloped by the lightning nets, then exploded.

Massive blue thunderclouds emerged, within which countless electric arcs roared and boomed!

The bodies of the low-level demonic beasts were instantly torn apart by the lightning. Even though the super demonic beasts' protective demonic light was incredibly dense, almost tangible, it couldn't withstand the assault and shattered inch by inch. Streaks of lightning relentlessly struck their enormous bodies, causing these super demonic beasts to roar in pain, their bodies instantly becoming charred.

However, the vitality of these super demonic beasts was truly astonishing. Despite being subjected to such attacks, not a single one actually perished; instead, this kind of assault seemed to have completely enraged them.

With continuous flickers of their horns, they unleashed several more black halos in one breath, furiously slashing at the city wall.

In an instant, black light obscured the sun in the sky, and demonic energy surged like a sea!

From some of the giant ships, purple light pillars suddenly spewed forth, vanishing in a flash into the bodies of the super demonic beasts at the forefront.
