With a "bang," a golden light burst forth, and streams of silver runes shot out from the disk towards various parts of the mountain.
As the silver light flickered, the runes rapidly embedded themselves into the rocks and then swiftly moved through the mountain's interior.
Han Li floated silently in the air, his face expressionless, making no further moves.
A short while later, the disk in the void below suddenly hummed and then glowed brightly with golden light.
Seeing this, Han Li raised an eyebrow and lifted a hand towards the disk below.
The disk trembled, shot up into the sky, and after a brief flash, strangely appeared in his palm.
Han Li glanced down at it.
A dazzling orb of light appeared on the disk's surface.
His mouth twitched, a yellow light flashed around his body, and he immediately shot towards the mountain below.
Silently, he plunged into the mountain and flew through its interior at an incredible speed.
In just a moment, his eyes lit up as a huge cavern strangely appeared below him.
A head-sized orb of iridescent light floated motionless in the center of the cavern.
It was entirely formed by the silver runes that had flown out from the disk earlier.
His escape light faded, and Han Li appeared inside the cavern. He quickly scanned his surroundings, immediately spotting several winding tunnels connected to it.
He stirred slightly, then strode into one of the tunnels.
The tunnel was exceptionally dark, almost pitch-black.
But as Han Li casually waved his hand, several faintly glowing white crystals flew out from his sleeve and hovered above his head without falling.
This naturally illuminated the tunnel as if it were daylight.
After walking only a short distance, Han Li released his spiritual sense and swept it over the rough, uneven stone walls around him.
A moment later, he paused and opened his mouth.
A streak of green light shot out and with a flash, struck the stone wall.
Under the sharp sword light, the stone wall was cut open like tofu, and in the blink of an eye, a stone opening appeared on the wall.
A strange "clang" sound strangely echoed from the dark hole, sounding exceptionally clear in the narrow tunnel.
Hearing it, a hint of joy appeared on Han Li's face.
He formed a hand seal with one hand and pointed into the void within the hole.
With a "whoosh," a small green sword shot back out from within, its blade impaling a piece of unknown black-purple ore.
"It is indeed here," he murmured. "The reserves are quite substantial. If I were to take it all, it would probably take a few more days." Han Li raised his hand, retrieving the flying sword, gripped the ore, and examined it closely.
Naturally, he wasn't going to stay here and act as a miner himself. He immediately swept his hand over his storage bracelet, and several balls of spiritual light flew out, revealing several puppets of various shapes before him.
These puppets were all refined by him in the Human Realm. Although their cultivation level was extremely low, they were more than sufficient for hard labor as miners.
Han Li tapped his head again, releasing his second Nascent Soul. After instructing it to remain in the cavern and oversee the puppets' activities, he himself activated his earth-burrowing technique and reached the mountaintop.
At this moment, Qu'er also flew over from the lake, carrying tens of thousands of Flying Rainbow Fish demon cores, and handed the storage bracelet containing them to Han Li.
After inspecting them, he was greatly satisfied. After praising her a few times, he carefully put away the storage bracelet.
"Master, Qu'er senses that there are quite a few spirit herbs on this island. May this servant go gather them?" Qu'er hesitated, then suddenly said this to Han Li.
"Spirit herbs?" Han Li said, "You yourself are a being of heaven and earth spiritual essence, so if you have such a sensation, it's probably accurate. Very well, there are no powerful beasts here, and we have ample time. Go ahead and search for some." Han Li was somewhat surprised to hear this but had no intention of stopping her. After some thought, he nodded in agreement.
"Thank you, Master. Then this servant shall go," the young girl said, her face lighting up with joy.
With a flash of white light, she transformed into a ball of spiritual light and ascended into the sky; after a single circle, she shot towards another lush green mountain nearby.
Han Li smiled, then immediately found a large boulder nearby and sat down cross-legged.
He shook his sleeve.
Over a dozen array flags of various colors shot out, and with a few flashes, they vanished into the surrounding void.
With a "poof."
A five-colored light barrier emerged, enveloping the entire mountaintop, but with a flash, it strangely disappeared again.
From a distance in the air, the area appeared largely unchanged from before; only Han Li, who should have been sitting on the boulder, was nowhere to be seen.
After setting up the restrictions, he finally, with peace of mind, formed a hand seal with one hand. His body glowed with golden light, and a golden figure surged forth from behind him.
It was the Brahma Sacred Manifestation.
He pointed at the manifestation.
Instantly, purple runes on the three-headed, six-armed manifestation's body flashed, and it transformed into a golden body, standing motionless before him.
Han Li narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing the golden body for a while, before suddenly beckoning with one hand.
One of the golden body's three heads opened its mouth and unexpectedly spat out a ball of silver light, subtly enveloping an object within.
It was precisely the silver ruler he had acquired after slaying the golden-horned youth that day.
Although this treasure was not a Profound Sky Treasure, it had displayed extraordinary profundity that day, and its power was not to be underestimated. It was most likely a treasure of the Heaven-Reaching Spirit Treasure rank.
He had never been certain of its true nature, and only now did he have the leisure to take it out and identify it.
With a flash, the silver ruler was drawn into his hand.
Han Li's fingers brushed over the silver ruler's surface as he slowly closed his eyes and probed it with his spiritual sense.
His expression remained calm and undisturbed. After an unknown period, his eyes suddenly snapped open.
"The Primal Chaos Ruler is actually a Heaven-Reaching Spirit Treasure!" he muttered. "As long as I cultivate the Treasure Communication Art recorded within it, I can activate this treasure."
He whispered softly, and then, his palm grasping the silver ruler flashed with green light as he infused streams of pure spiritual energy into the treasure.
The next moment, the silver ruler emitted a long hum, and with a tremor, suddenly projected a silver light screen from its surface.
Within the light screen, rows of ancient characters clearly emerged.
Han Li's eyes flickered, and he memorized the Primal Chaos Ruler's Treasure Communication Art. With a flick of his wrist, the light screen instantly dispersed, and the treasure vanished with a flash.
Afterwards, he put away the golden body, formed hand seals with both hands, and began cultivating the Treasure Communication Art of the Primal Chaos Ruler.
Time flew by; three days passed in a flash.
With Han Li's current peak Void Refinement cultivation, he naturally didn't need to cultivate for as long as he did with the Xutian Cauldron back then.
In just three days, he completed the cultivation of the treasure's Treasure Communication Art and could now effortlessly store and retrieve the ruler within his body.
Meanwhile, during this period, the puppets below had nearly finished excavating the unknown ores hidden within the mountain.
It was estimated that the task would be completed in another day.
During this time, the young girl Qu'er also gathered many herbs from the island, some of which were indeed rare spirit herbs in the Spirit Realm.
This was an unexpected pleasant surprise.
However, after two consecutive days without incident, the young girl Qu'er had grown much bolder and had even begun searching for extremely reclusive spirit herbs at the bottom of the nearby lake.
Because Han Li was cultivating the Treasure Communication Art at a critical juncture, he merely sent her a verbal warning and said no more.
But of course, he naturally left a wisp of his spiritual sense on the young girl in case any accidents truly occurred.
It was unclear whether this was foresight or if trouble was simply destined to occur.
Half a day after he completed the Treasure Communication Art, while he was meditating and recuperating on the mountaintop, he seemed to sense something. His face suddenly turned cold, and he uttered an extremely chilling "courting death," then immediately transformed into a green rainbow, breaking through the restriction and flying off in a certain direction.
After a few flashes, the astonishing rainbow vanished at the edge of the horizon.
Almost simultaneously, hundreds of miles from the island, above the lake surface, three streaks of escape light frantically shot towards the island.
Within one white light was a small figure, which was none other than Qu'er.
A few miles behind them, four strange triangular battle chariots were in hot pursuit.
Each of these chariots was only a few zhang (several meters) in size, its surface covered in green rust, its spiritual light dim, and even somewhat dilapidated in appearance. Yet their speed was truly astonishing, gliding dozens of zhang silently with each tremor.
Even though Qu'er was skilled in escape techniques, she could only watch as the chariots behind her slowly closed the distance.
As for the two other figures in escape lights ahead, their flying speed was even greater than Qu'er's, and they could barely maintain their distance from the pursuing chariots.
"Heh heh, Fellow Daoist Yue," a hoarse, unpleasant male voice called out from one of the chariots behind them, sounding somewhat impatient, "you've already suffered a great loss of vital energy in the previous battle. Even if you unleash your potential now, where can you run? If you know what's good for you, hand over the Nine-Flame Grass in your possession. I might even allow you to perform a 'soldier's disincarnation' and cultivate a next life."
"Hmph," a cold female voice responded from the blue-hued escape light ahead, "even if this immortal maiden destroys this spirit herb, you still won't get a single shred of it!"
From another gray light, an old man's exceptionally angry voice also sounded: "Immortal Yue, why bother talking nonsense with them? They immediately turned on us and plotted against us after getting the treasure; we absolutely cannot trust them a bit."
"Elder Xu, rest assured," the woman's voice softened as she spoke. "After what happened earlier, if this immortal maiden were still to believe their words, that would truly be ridiculous."
Almost simultaneously, the woman's secret telepathic message reached the old man's ears: "Elder Xu, this direction is correct, isn't it? I fear we truly cannot hold on for much longer."
"It should be correct," the old man replied telepathically, while speaking other words aloud. "According to the earlier reaction of the magic artifact, there should be people from our Heavenly Cloud sect nearby in this direction. That young girl behind us has a strange aura, as if she's something that cultivated into human form; she's likely a spirit beast brought by another team in this area. They've planted a mark on us, so we can only risk it all on this gamble."
Hearing this, the woman sighed lightly and said no more, focusing entirely on urging her escape light forward.
