Chapter 929: Really Became Xiao Yangzi

Luohongxia and Elder Zhuhong stood rooted to the spot, at a loss. Elder Zhuhong admitted she liked children, but she had never imagined there would be so many in the Immortal Palace.

"Did someone cast a time-reversal spell, sending the Immortal Palace back to the past?"

"No, that's not how returning to the past works."

The Immortal Palace disciples varied greatly in age, and now they all looked like children. Time reversal couldn't explain this. What exactly had happened? They had only been gone for three days, yet the Immortal Palace had become so unfamiliar.

"You... you're Lu Yang, aren't you?" Luohongxia asked hesitantly. Even in this small form, she could still recognize Lu Yang's original appearance.

"Not now," Lu Yang firmly refused, then quickly picked up the clothes from the ground and wrapped himself in them. "The current me is Lu Yang." The person who had been naked in the snow and ice moments ago had nothing to do with him.

"What's going on?"

"I don't know either. We just ate some roasted rabbit, slept, and woke up like this." Lu Yang was innocent; he was completely bewildered. How did he just turn into a child?

"Fairy, don't sleep, wake up!" Lu Yang shook the Immortal Fairy awake, who was lying on the snow bed with her fingers interlaced over her chest. While sleeping, the Immortal Fairy looked exceptionally beautiful, so beautiful that it made Lu Yang forget all her previous actions and acknowledge her as the foremost beauty of ancient times. But this was no time to admire how beautiful the Immortal Fairy was!

The Immortal Fairy was sleeping even more soundly than Lu Yang and was equally unwilling to wake up. She woke from her sleep, saw the child-like Lu Yang, and immediately perked up.

"Oh, how did you get so small?" The Immortal Fairy shot up into a sitting position, constantly comparing Lu Yang's height to her own. Lu Yang now only reached her waist. "You've really become 'Little Yangzi'."

"I came to ask you for a diagnosis, Fairy," Lu Yang pleaded with the Immortal Fairy.

"Oh, you being so small is quite nice," the Immortal Fairy said with a giggle, squatting down to stroke Lu Yang's head, showing no intention of taking things seriously.

Outside, Immortal Palace disciples gradually woke up, and screams erupted one after another. However, their voices were tender, like infants wailing, making Lu Yang feel as though he had stumbled into a kindergarten, where he was the only little adult, neither crying nor fussing.

Luohongxia and Zhuhong kept pacifying one screaming child only to turn immediately to another. Their bodies weren't tired, but their hearts were. Elder Zhuhong felt she might not really need the water from the Twin Rivers anymore.

"Senior Brother Lu Yang, what's happening to us...?" Lanting shyly wrapped herself in clothes, even covering her head, leaving only half her face visible.

Lu Yang rubbed his forehead. *Junior Sister Lan, please don't look at me like that; it's as if something happened between us last night. We're barely adults combined in this state, what could possibly happen?*

Fortunately, the Immortal Palace disciples weren't truly children; they regularly went on missions and handled major situations. After a few screams upon waking, they calmed down, though they had certainly never seen a scene like this before.

Other elders, hearing about the incident, rushed over. Only the disciples had eaten the rabbit last night; the elders, maintaining their dignity, had not participated in the grand feast.

"Junior Sister Yulu, can you see what's going on here?" Luohongxia called over Elder Zhou Yulu, who was most skilled in medicine. Elder Zhou Yulu had successfully treated Xue Shilu's bloodline issues. Elder Zhou Yulu's eyelids twitched at the sight of children everywhere. Her professionalism as a healer helped her calm down, and she resisted the urge to record with a recording orb, instead taking each child's pulse one by one.

"Poisoning? Unlikely. Is it a tonic?"

"Was there something wrong with what they ate yesterday?" Luohongxia asked, seeing only the skeleton of the demonic rabbit on the rack.

"It shouldn't be. I checked this demonic rabbit before we ate it; there were no issues."

Despite saying that, Zhou Yulu still scraped off a small piece of meat from the skeleton, immersing her spiritual sense and continuously analyzing it. "The meat is indeed fine."

Lu Yang breathed a sigh of relief. It was good that it wasn't his fault.

Suddenly, Elder Zhou noticed the strange-looking charcoal in the large pit. "Did someone chop up the osmanthus tree and burn it as firewood?" She drew a piece of charcoal towards her, immersed her spiritual sense, analyzed its composition, and finally discovered the root of the problem.

"The osmanthus tree is the problem. This particular osmanthus tree was tampered with; several substances were added to it that have a shrinking effect."

"After burning, the osmanthus tree's fragrance masked other scents, causing anyone who smelled it to be unknowingly affected."

In fact, after the rabbit meat was smoked by the osmanthus tree, it also retained these substances. However, it was only the surface meat; the meat closer to the bone hadn't been smoked yet.

Lu Yang re-inhaled the breath he had just exhaled. So, it was still related to him after all.

"Are Little Lan and the others alright?" Luohongxia was most concerned about this.

"No major issues. Their bodies just shrank; if left alone, they'll return to normal in a few days. They'll probably recover before I even manage to develop an antidote."

"It's good that it's nothing serious."

"Palace Master, the current issue isn't Junior Niece Lan and the others; it's the osmanthus trees." Elder Zhou pointed to the skeletal demonic rabbit and said sternly, "This demonic rabbit grew larger because it ate osmanthus-filled mooncakes. We later discovered that Zhang Guihua's osmanthus tree was problematic, containing substances that cause growth. Now we've found another osmanthus tree with a shrinking effect. Who exactly tampered with these osmanthus trees, and how many have been affected?"

Luohongxia's expression grew serious. This was indeed a major problem. The Immortal Palace was protected by formations; outsiders couldn't enter. This was the work of someone inside the Immortal Palace!

"Fairy, do you know who did it?"

The Immortal Fairy shook her head. "I don't know." *As if she would be so indiscreet as to observe everything happening in the Immortal Palace with her divine sense all day.*

The matter of the osmanthus tree was important, but it wasn't the most urgent. The most pressing matter right now was these children.

"Lu Yang, why don't you go back to your guest room first?" Luohongxia suggested. Lu Yang was the only male cultivator present, and the Immortal Palace disciples who had turned into children couldn't put on their clothes. With Lu Yang there, they were all self-conscious and unwilling to move, fearing he might see something he shouldn't.

"Alright," Lu Yang agreed, understanding the principle of separation between genders.

However, clearly some people didn't understand this principle, such as the Immortal Fairy. In the mental space, the Immortal Fairy held 'little Lu Yang's' arms and spun him around, making rhythmic 'oh-oh' sounds. The mental space was filled with the Immortal Fairy's joyful laughter. Lu Yang remained expressionless, staring at the Immortal Fairy with deadpan eyes, like a toy being played with at will.

"Fairy, there's a difference between men and women; close contact is improper," Lu Yang kindly reminded her, attempting to improve his situation.

The Immortal Fairy squatted down, poked Lu Yang's forehead, finding the current Lu Yang particularly amusing. She giggled, "Why would a little tot care about gender?"
