Chapter 812: Young Master Meng Returns Home

Lu Yang hesitated, wanting to say that the imperial robe looked strange.

"Fairy, are you sure you embroidered yourself and Senior Sister on this imperial robe?" Lu Yang stared at the robe, genuinely unsure who the two figures were.

"Of course, aren't their names written here?" Immortal Fairy said, pointing to two spots on the robe.

Lu Yang thought to himself, "Good thing you wrote the names, otherwise, I'd believe you if you said it was me and Old Meng." Immortal Fairy puffed out her chest, her expression and words full of pride. "Didn't you say, Little Yangzi, that imperial robes have always been embroidered with the strongest individuals? In today's cultivation world, who's stronger than me and little Yun?"

"Why do you call me Little Yangzi?"

Immortal Fairy looked utterly perplexed. "Is there a problem? I heard emperors call their attendants that."

Lu Yang was speechless.

Never mind, there was no need to explain such complex things to the Fairy.

"How about I make some slight modifications to your and Senior Sister's images on the robe?" Lu Yang couldn't even look at the two figures on the imperial robe.

"Alright," Immortal Fairy immediately took off the imperial robe and tossed it to Lu Yang. She then ran around the hall barefoot, skipping. Lu Yang conjured gold and silver threads with his mind, threaded the needle, and soon Immortal Fairy's exquisite and stunning face vividly appeared on the robe.

"Indeed, it's a touch better than my own skill." Immortal Fairy rarely admitted that Lu Yang was superior. Lu Yang remained unfazed by praise or criticism and continued to embroider Senior Sister. Soon, Senior Sister's likeness also appeared on the imperial robe.

Just as Lu Yang was about to utter a few more compliments to Immortal Fairy to solidify his position as head steward, a rift appeared in the mental space, revealing Senior Sister.

She cast her gaze upon Lu Yang, holding the needle and thread, and then on the imperial robe resting on his lap. Her eye twitched, a rare display of emotion.

"Junior Brother, you..." Lu Yang, startled, immediately stood up, dissociating himself. "It has nothing to do with me! The Fairy made me do it!"

"Didn't you suggest embroidering me and little Yun on the imperial robe?"

"Fairy, don't spread rumors! I didn't say anything!"

Listening to her junior brother and Fairy Senior shift blame back and forth, Yun Zhi largely understood what had happened. "Fairy Senior, have you considered a different style for the imperial robe?" Yun Zhi kindly suggested, subtly hinting that the item didn't quite resemble an imperial robe.

"A different style?" Immortal Fairy pondered for a moment, then suddenly understood.

"You mean, since I'm the strongest in this world, only my image needs to be embroidered on the imperial robe!"

Yun Zhi sighed softly. "Never mind, let the imperial robe be as it is."

Anyway, there was no one else in the mental space, so the Fairy could wear it however she wished.

After Yun Zhi left, Immortal Fairy excitedly put on the imperial robe, twirled around happily, and showed off to Little Yangzi. "How is it? How is it? Isn't it beautiful?"

Little Yangzi bowed respectfully. "Your Majesty is naturally beautiful; this imperial robe merely serves to accentuate your appearance."

In the past, when traveling to the Demon Realm or the East Sea, Lu Yang would need to find someone who had been there to inquire about local conditions. This time, with Meng Jingzhou, a local, accompanying him, Lu Yang wouldn't have to ask around.

"It's a pity that Junior Sister Tao and the others have all gone to suppress the Ruthless Sect."

Lu Yang had originally intended to invite Tao Tianye and Man Gu to the Buddhist Nation, but upon inquiring, he learned of the significant changes within the Ruthless Sect. Now, there were virtually no idle members in the Dao Seeking Sect; every single one had been dispatched to deal with the remnants of the Ruthless Sect.

Li Haoran, however, had not left. He was diligently studying artifact refining techniques, so it wasn't convenient to disturb him. Old Ma drove the two, and in just two days, they arrived at the Imperial City.

The Imperial City, as the largest city in Great Xia and indeed the entire cultivation world, was unimaginably vast. From a great distance, Lu Yang could already see several massive dark silhouettes that were mountains within the city.

A river several hundred zhang wide divided the Imperial City into two, creating the South City and the North City. This was Lu Yang's second visit to the Imperial City, yet he was still profoundly impressed. At the city gate, he saw many cultivators from the demon race, sea race, and Buddhist Nation. Their clothing and appearance were distinctly different from those of cultivators from the Central Continent, making them instantly recognizable. While rare in other cities, such cultivators were ubiquitous in the Imperial City.

To travel from other continents to Great Xia, these cultivators had to be at least at the Nascent Soul stage.

The guards at the city gate saw Meng Jingzhou's identification token, and their pupils immediately contracted.

Young Master Meng had actually returned to the Imperial City?!

The guards watched the carriage enter the Imperial City. Out of professional conduct, they did not report Meng Jingzhou's return. After all, Meng Jingzhou was not a wanted criminal, so there was no need to report his arrival.

And accompanying Young Master Meng to the Imperial City was the rumored disciple of Daoist Bu Yu?

The carriage stopped before a plaque bearing the characters "Meng Residence." In the lower right corner of the plaque, a name was written: Jiang Ping'an.

The First Emperor of Xia had personally inscribed the plaque for the Meng Residence, which was akin to a pardon token.

"We're here. This is my home," Meng Jingzhou said, jumping off the carriage. He looked at the long-unseen gate, filled with emotion.

Almost six years had passed since he ran away from home; he had finally returned.

"This is your home?!" Lu Yang got out of the carriage and saw that the gate of the Meng Residence was as tall as the legendary South Heaven Gate. Intricate and exquisite patterns were carved into its vermillion red panels, and two stone lions at the entrance held stone spheres in their mouths, appearing almost lifelike. The steps were carved from top-grade spirit stones, with auspicious clouds and mythical beasts carved along their edges.

Even the gates of the imperial palace wouldn't surpass this.

Even one of the Imperial City mountains he had seen from afar was located within the Meng Residence.

"This plaque was written by the First Emperor of Xia?" Lu Yang noted the name on the plaque. The Meng family indeed had such qualifications, as they were once another major power that vied for dominance with the Emperor of Xia.

"What's so special about that? The imperial palace's plaque was written by my own ancestor."

The two guards at the entrance saw Meng Jingzhou dismount from the carriage and were so excited they stammered. One of them quickly ran inside to inform the family head, "Young... Young Master has returned!"

"Oh, still you two guarding the gate, huh?" Meng Jingzhou clearly recognized the two guards.

Previously, he couldn't discern the cultivation levels of these two guards, but now he could; they were both late-stage Soul Transformation cultivators.

The remaining guard chuckled bashfully. "Young Master jokes. It's only been a few years; not everyone can improve their cultivation as quickly as you, Young Master."

Meng Jingzhou was about to say something else when his expression changed. He felt a terrifying pressure spread from within the Meng Residence. "Good boy, you've finally returned!"

A middle-aged man suddenly appeared before Lu Yang and Meng Jingzhou. Lu Yang hadn't even seen how the man appeared.

"Dad, Dad, I'm back," Meng Jingzhou said, too guilty to look at his father.

Upon seeing his long-lost son, Meng Potian burst into hearty laughter, patting Meng Jingzhou's shoulder.

"Good, it's good that you're back."

Meng Jingzhou heard his father's normal tone and realized he had probably been genuinely forgiven. He finally dared to look directly at his father and sincerely called out, "Dad."

"Family shame should not be aired publicly. I'm very relieved that you've returned to take your beating."
