Chapter 770: The Reason Why the Immortal Fairy Cannot Be Revived

Ao Ling emerged from a long sleep. Upon seeing the Immortal Fairy, tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.

"Xiao Ling, do you remember me?" the Immortal Fairy asked, pointing to herself, unable to believe it, as Lian Yi had completely forgotten her.

Ao Ling wiped her tears and gently shook her head, her gaze apologetic. "I don't remember," she admitted. "But my husband and the others told me there were once five Immortals in the world. When the fifth Immortal fell, everyone's memory was altered, causing them to forget this Immortal's existence."

"So my husband and the others told me about this Immortal. They also said this Immortal was very important to me."

Ao Ling took the Immortal Fairy's hand, looked into her eyes, and said earnestly, "That Immortal is you, Immortal Sister. However, I have no recollection of what Lord Tianjun and the others told me."

What Ao Ling didn't mention was that from the moment she first saw the Immortal Fairy after waking, she felt an inexplicable sense of trust and familiarity. It was as if there had always been an empty space in her heart, and upon seeing the Immortal Fairy, that void was silently filled.

"My husband also said that if anyone could awaken me from the 'feigned death' state, it would only be you, Sister. Where is my husband? He said he would bring you here to wake me up. Where is he?"

Ao Ling looked around, searching for the Qilin Immortal, but found herself lying in a small pavilion surrounded by a vast, boundless lake. "Strange, where is this? I clearly remember sleeping in my cave." Confusion clouded Ao Ling's eyes. This wasn't what her husband had told her. "Sister, what's going on?"

The Immortal Fairy was equally puzzled. Lu Yang, who had been silent until then, suddenly asked, "Senior Ao Ling, could you tell us what happened before you fell into your sleep?"

"Who is this?" Ao Ling finally noticed a young Nascent Soul stage cultivator next to the Immortal Fairy.

"This is Lu Yang, the second-in-command of our Immortal lineage," the Immortal Fairy introduced, her tone clearly showing her high regard for him. "He is the one who resurrected me."

"Ah?" Ao Ling grew even more confused. This, too, was unexpected.

She lowered her head in thought, sifting through her memories. "My experiences before falling asleep... Let me see, where should I begin? Oh, yes, I'll start from the day the Immortal War began."

"At that time, Lian Yi was cultivating, and my husband was protecting her. I was reading a book when suddenly my mind went blank, and an excruciating pain shot through my chest, as if I had lost something forever. Then I heard my husband roar. He manifested his Qilin true form, strode through the sky, and countless stars shattered into dust in his wake."

"Ying Tian and the other three from the neighboring Immortal Realm had similar reactions to my husband. I don't know what the four Immortals sensed, but they all converged on the area around the North Star. The four of them engaged in a fierce battle with an unknown enemy. I had never seen them so enraged; it was a fight to the death."

"That battle lasted for seven full days. During that time, I went to find Lian Yi and asked her what had happened, but like me, she knew nothing. Seven days later, my husband returned gravely wounded. He said the enemy was mysterious and difficult to deal with. For safety, he instructed both Lian Yi and me to use the 'feigned death' technique."

"Lian Yi performed the technique, but I insisted on staying awake, demanding my husband explain the situation. Under my strong insistence, he explained the reason. That's when I learned that all the strange occurrences were related to your demise, Immortal Sister."

"The one who killed you also erased your existence. My husband and the other three, knowing of your fall, were furious and sought to eliminate the culprit. Unfortunately, they didn't succeed. As a secondary measure, they reshaped the stars, forming a six-sided continent, and imprisoned the culprit here."

"They couldn't eliminate the culprit quickly; in fact, we didn't even know where the culprit was. My husband and the other three discussed it and decided that the immediate task was to find a way to resurrect you, Sister."

"They said the simplest way to revive you was to speak your name. But even they had forgotten your name. They even manifested thousands of avatars, simultaneously uttering different names, but it still failed. Logically, by saying so many names at once, one of them should have been correct; it was a matter of probability."

"So the four of them suspected that one avatar did say the correct name, but the culprit secretly intervened, using some undetectable method to cause that avatar to utter the wrong name. This was merely a theory, unprovable. After all, once they spoke your name, my husband and the other three would forget what they had uttered."

Lu Yang said in a deep voice, "There's another possibility."

"What is it?" The Immortal Fairy and Ao Ling both looked at Lu Yang.

"The mastermind only obscured 'Immortal Fairy Huang Dou Dou' in the ancient language, not in the current language. I remember you once said, Fairy, that no matter what language system was used, merely speaking your title and immortal name would resurrect you. But only you knew this; you never told anyone."

The Immortal Fairy remembered. It was shortly after her resurrection, when Lu Yang was learning 'Precognition' and incidentally studying the ancient language, that he asked if she could be resurrected in any language system, and that was her reply.

"Current language?" Ao Ling didn't understand what Lu Yang was saying. She felt as though many things had happened after she fell asleep. How long had she actually been asleep?

Since waking up, Ao Ling had been speaking the ancient language. Both Lu Yang and the Immortal Fairy were proficient in it, so communication was not an issue. She was unaware that no one outside knew the ancient language anymore.

"Yes, according to current evidence, the ancient language disappeared after the fall of the Spark Dynasty. The outside world now uses a different language system for communication," Lu Yang analyzed seriously. "This explains the problem. You couldn't be resurrected using the ancient language. No one knew this—neither the four Immortals, including Ying Tian, nor the mastermind—and no one had considered it."

After realizing this, Lu Yang felt a lingering sense of fear, as if he had narrowly escaped a disaster. "It's fortunate no one knew about this. Otherwise, if the mastermind continued to obscure her name even after the language system changed, the Immortal Fairy might never have been resurrected."

"Come to think of it, I resurrected the Immortal Fairy with just a casual utterance. That's incredibly good luck. Could it be that all the luck accumulated by the previous generation in saving the world was used up for this? Pah, what kind of good luck is resurrecting the Immortal Fairy?"

"Wait, wait a minute. Are you saying the Spark Dynasty, founded by my husband and the other three, has fallen?" Ao Ling was astonished. The Spark Dynasty, established by four Immortals, had actually vanished?

"Senior Ao Ling, you know about the Spark Dynasty?"

Ao Ling nodded. "Of course. I witnessed the establishment of the Spark Dynasty with my own eyes."
