Chapter 334: Ideas Flowing Like a Spring

Lu Yang had long heard about the cultivation techniques compiled by his Senior Sister, which were so significant that the Dao Seeking Sect had even dedicated a special area for them. Unfortunately, the cultivation techniques on the first floor of the Scripture Pavilion were too rudimentary, so he hadn't had the chance to study them until now.

Today, he finally saw them.

"I knew it," Immortal Fairy exclaimed, suddenly enlightened. "No matter how brilliant your Dao Seeking Sect disciples are, they couldn't just casually create cultivation methods of this level." She had previously thought the sect's geniuses were so exceptional that even the "Lunar Avatar Technique" was nearly as good as the ones she herself had compiled.

"Well, technically, Senior Sister is also a disciple of our Dao Seeking Sect," Lu Yang emphasized.

While the most outstanding senior brothers, Dai Bufan and Ji Hongwen, were still striving to catch up with the elders, his Senior Sister, from the same generation, had already left them far behind. This was the gap.

The bookshelves before him were filled with a dazzling array of cultivation techniques, all either modified from existing ones or entirely new ones compiled by his Senior Sister.

"Heh heh, what's wrong? Are you intimidated by the sheer number of techniques Yunzhi has compiled?" A weathered laugh echoed in Lu Yang's ears.

Lu Yang turned his head and saw a hunched old man standing beside him, appearing unremarkable.

"Excuse me, are you...?"

"Just a rather idle old man who guards the Scripture Pavilion to pass the time. You can call me Old Tao."

Lu Yang wouldn't dare actually call him Old Tao. He secretly surmised that the man was either an elder or even a grand-master, with the latter being more likely given the special nature of the Scripture Pavilion.

"Tao Elder, do you have any advice for me?"

"It's not really advice. With Yunzhi teaching you, what could an old man like me possibly guide you on? I just saw you come here and it reminded me of Yunzhi when she was little."

"Yunzhi when she was little?" Lu Yang's interest was piqued, overshadowing even his desire to study the cultivation techniques.

Immortal Fairy, even more eager, sprang up from the bed, excitedly waiting for Old Tao to tell his story.

"When Yunzhi was first brought into the sect by your master, she wasn't very tall, about this high." Old Tao gestured to his chest. He was already hunched and short, and Yunzhi at that time only reached his chest. "She was taciturn and cold, and I couldn't tell if that was her innate personality or due to her life in the secret realm."

"However, after she came to the Scripture Pavilion, her expression visibly brightened."

"That girl was too young back then, not yet old enough to cultivate. Your master simply let her browse freely in the Scripture Pavilion to lay a foundation."

"The girl focused solely on reading the cultivation techniques in the Scripture Pavilion, frowning as she read."

"At the time, I thought the girl was as cute as a jade carving, so I walked over and asked her if there was anything she didn't understand, telling her she could ask me and I could explain."

"She had a displeased expression on her face and pouted, saying that these techniques were poorly written. When I asked her what was wrong with them, she shook her head like a rattle, saying she couldn't pinpoint it, but just felt they were badly written."

"While these techniques certainly had flaws, they were far beyond what a little girl could discern."

"I just laughed it off, not taking it seriously, assuming the girl found the techniques abstruse and difficult to understand, and was just being stubborn by saying they were poorly written."

"Who would have thought, after so little time, that girl would grow to a point where no one could catch up to her? She even developed her own unique insights into cultivation techniques." Old Tao sighed with emotion, never having imagined that the little girl from back then would cultivate to such a height.

"Cultivate well, and perhaps one day you might even surpass Yunzhi!" Old Tao patted Lu Yang's shoulder, entrusting him with a significant responsibility. "Work hard!"

Inspired, Lu Yang began studying the cultivation techniques compiled by his Senior Sister.

"The 'Heaven-Incinerating Bloodflame Technique' is a cultivation method supposedly hidden in an ancient grotto-heaven. While immortal cultivators typically possess lifespans far exceeding mortals, and cultivation aims for longevity, this technique goes against that principle. It achieves rapid cultivation growth by burning one's lifespan to break through realms. In critical moments, one can also temporarily burn lifespan to boost combat power."

"The Mission Hall stipulates that every disciple must complete two missions per year."

"To fulfill her mission, Senior Sister falsely claimed to have visited an ancient grotto-heaven and discovered this 'Heaven-Incinerating Bloodflame Technique.' In reality, she created it herself. Because Senior Sister only had incomplete information, knowing it was a technique that exchanged lifespan for combat power, her version of the technique transformed the burning of one's own lifespan into burning the lifespan of others."

"In combat, by forcibly burning the lifespan of others, it grants the opponent immense combat power while rapidly accelerating their aging. The opponent would then age and die before they could even fully utilize their newfound strength."

"The 'Chaos Transformation Scripture' is the Blue Nether Sect's foundational cultivation technique, never transmitted outside the sect. Upon reaching mastery, practitioners can emit chaotic mist. This mist cannot be dispersed, blocking vision and divine sense, allowing the practitioner to move freely within it and ambush opponents."

"Senior Sister falsely claimed to have gone to the Blue Nether Sect to study and learn their foundational technique, the 'Chaos Transformation Scripture,' and then submitted her own compiled version of the 'Chaos Transformation Scripture' to the Mission Hall. Upon reaching mastery, this technique forms a 'Chaos Domain,' suppressing all paths and rendering all other techniques ineffective within it. All living beings within the domain lose the will to resist, and there's even a slight chance of cultivating a 'Chaos Dao Body.'"

"Currently, the Blue Nether Sect has replaced their foundational technique with Senior Sister's version."

The more Lu Yang read, the more his scalp tingled. There was no way he could surpass his Senior Sister. The good news, however, was that these techniques weren't written by Senior Sister during her Golden Core stage, so Lu Yang still had a chance.

Lu Yang stopped thinking about external matters and gradually immersed himself in various cultivation techniques: those by his Senior Sister, by sect elders, and those circulating in the market. He delved into understanding the mindset of the technique's compilers, the intention behind each step, becoming utterly absorbed and forgetting everything else.

Half a month passed in a flash. Lu Yang emerged from his study of various techniques and suddenly remembered that he was there to continue writing a cultivation method.

"Time to write!"

Lu Yang scratched the back of his head. He had read so many techniques, feeling incredibly knowledgeable and confident in his potential in the field of cultivation methods. Yet, when he picked up his brush to write, he realized he didn't know how to begin.

"But I felt like I'd learned it all while reading them?"

Lu Yang braced himself and began writing. Immortal Fairy watched from the side, not saying a word. Speaking up with advice at this moment would only harm Lu Yang.

Lu Yang pondered deeply for half a day, finally arriving at an idea, and began to continue writing his cultivation method.

"This is it!"

His thoughts flowed freely, and he wrote rapidly, his brushstrokes like dancing dragons and snakes. The half-month he spent studying cultivation techniques was not in vain. He felt he had thoroughly comprehended them and was now innovating upon that foundation, with a continuous stream of ideas flowing onto the paper.

"Yes, this is how the next part should be written!"

He now only regretted that his writing speed was too slow to keep pace with his rapidly evolving thoughts.

Two days later, the Golden Core chapter of the "Heart-Illuminating Mind-Cleansing Manual" was complete. He then revised and refined it, making the technique more concise and its wording more precise.

"It's finished!"

He immediately left the Scripture Pavilion and went to Tianmen Peak to hand the completed manuscript to his Senior Sister.

His Senior Sister carefully flipped through it, nodded slightly, and praised him: "Not bad. This time, only about eighty percent of the content needs slight modifications from me."
