Chapter 188: Child, what is your wish?

Yan Fei wasn't the only one puzzled; even the higher-ups of the Immortal Sect were astonished. They wondered if this was a popular fighting style among the younger generation, or if they were simply falling behind the times.

Mang Gu, holding Meng Jingzhou and Lu Yang, spun in place, sweeping away all incoming projectiles and attacks.

"This is bizarre! Attack together!" Yan Fei bellowed, charging forward. Seeing this, the others swarmed after him. They were determined to overwhelm them, even if it meant using sheer numbers.

"Combination Technique – The Great Pinwheel!"

The three shouted in unison as Mang Gu, holding his two companions, spun at an incredible speed.

Mang Gu now wielded the most formidable blunt instrument and the sharpest blade, capable of both offense and defense! Crucially, these "weapons" could strike on their own, proving highly effective.

Meng Jingzhou, employing the Six Forms of Heaven Shaking, swung his fists, leaving enemies bruised, battered, and with broken bones.

Lu Yang, using his hands like swords, unleashed sword energy and employed the Single-Character Sword Art. Like a towering sword, he mercilessly reaped the lives of his enemies.

This collaboration was simple yet highly effective. Mang Gu spun, Meng Jingzhou punched, and Lu Yang struck with his palms; each performed their role without hindering the others.

Yan Fei's soft armor split open from a strike by Lu Yang's sword energy. Without the armor, he would have been bleeding profusely.

Though the combination technique appeared haphazard, it was, in fact, incredibly powerful.

Mang Gu, transformed into an ancient demon god, wielded Yin and Yang energy, carving a path through the crowd. Competitors were either bludgeoned to death by Meng Jingzhou or sliced apart by Lu Yang's sword energy.

After suffering significant losses, Yan Fei no longer dared to engage in close combat.

Observing this, the others also decided to flee. While revenge was tempting, survival was paramount.

However, this technique had two drawbacks: first, all the kills were attributed to Lu Yang and Meng Jingzhou; second, it caused extreme dizziness.

"Ugh—" All three began to retch.

Despite their training, the duration was too short, and the high-intensity spinning proved beyond their endurance.

While retching, Lu Yang attempted to comfort his companions: "I-I heard that dizziness is caused by our internal organs. Once we reach the Golden Core stage and can control our organs, we'll be able to use this move repeatedly!"

"Ugh—is that true?" Meng Jingzhou doubted Lu Yang's claim. "In theory, yes. We'll try it once we reach the Golden Core stage."

Seeing their weakened state, the opponents prepared to charge once more.

The trio changed tactics. When an attack came, Mang Gu grabbed Meng Jingzhou's ankle, and Lu Yang seized his neck. They used Meng Jingzhou as a living shield to block the assault.

Realizing this tactic was effective, Lu Yang and Mang Gu pressed their advantage, charging forward with Meng Jingzhou as their vanguard.

"Hey, hey, hey! You two are going too far!" Meng Jingzhou protested loudly. "We never agreed I'd be the shield when we planned this!" Even with his sturdy build, taking direct hits like that was incredibly painful.

The two then set Meng Jingzhou down.

As several opponents attacked from one direction, Meng Jingzhou and Mang Gu each lifted one of Lu Yang's legs. Lu Yang then drew his demonic blade and faced multiple assailants simultaneously. His movements were swift and precise, like a serpent's tongue, allowing him to hold his own.

Suddenly, Lu Yang's eyes narrowed, and he propelled himself forward, charging directly at Yan Fei. *You're the one who keeps causing us trouble!*

"You don't know your place!" Yan Fei scoffed, unfazed by Lu Yang. "I admit I'm no match for the three of you combined, but you're alone now. Do you truly think you can kill me?"

Yan Fei pulled out a jade flute, his life-bound magic artifact, capable of generating soundwave attacks.

Yan Fei blew into the jade flute, aiming to intercept and eliminate Lu Yang.

Lu Yang's body sank into the ground, evading the attack. The trees behind him were cleanly severed at the waist, illustrating the devastating power of the blow had it struck a person.

"Earth Evasion Technique!" Yan Fei exclaimed in shock. He hadn't expected Lu Yang to master such a difficult Five Elements spell. "Where will he reappear?!"

Yan Fei quickly spun around, anticipating an attack from behind.

To his surprise, the ground beneath his feet cracked open, and a Bodhi tree emerged, bearing two Lu Yangs.

Lu Yang and his clone simultaneously stepped from the Bodhi tree. The clone unleashed a Tiger Fist, transforming into a vibrant, ferocious tiger that lunged at Yan Fei, while Lu Yang, wielding his demonic blade, swept it horizontally towards him.

At such close range, he could control his clone with absolute precision.

The tiger demon Lu Yang was incredibly fierce, and Lu Yang's blade technique was overwhelming. In close combat, Yan Fei had no time to play his jade flute!

"Enlarge!" The jade flute instantly grew to eyebrow height, transforming into a staff. Yan Fei wielded it, swinging it rapidly to block the attacks from Lu Yang and his clone. The jade staff spun with a loud whooshing sound.

Lu Yang quickly tilted his head, narrowly avoiding an invisible soundwave attack. He realized this was another way Yan Fei could activate his flute's power.

"Clever idea!" Lu Yang sneered, but he was already prepared, rendering the attack harmless.

Within the Dao-Seeking Sect, such a move was considered child's play and wouldn't even be acknowledged. Only someone as ignorant as Yan Fei would use it as an offensive tactic.

Besides, against absolute power, could Yan Fei truly hope to make a ripple?

Outside the Dao-Seeking Sect, Lu Yang was confident in his invincibility at the Foundation Establishment stage, let alone with two of himself.

Lu Yang then used the demonic blade to execute a sword technique.

The tiger demon roared, speaking in human tongue: "Decapitation Art!" "Fierce Tiger Descends the Mountain!"

Attacking from different directions, the two tore Yan Fei to shreds.

The demonic blade instantly acknowledged Yan Fei as its master, only to devour him just as swiftly. Yan Fei became its shortest-lived owner.

Witnessing this scene, Vice Cult Master Jin asked the Cult Master, "Didn't you say Yan Fei was your successor? Aren't you going to intervene?"

The Cult Master sneered, "Successor? That was merely a facade Yan Fei created for himself, using subtle hints to make people believe he was my successor and thereby gain advantages."

"Aren't you going to punish him?"

"Why should I? If he truly possessed the capability, acknowledging him as my successor would be no issue. But if he lacked ability, as he did today, then his death is inconsequential."

A mere Yan Fei was not distinguished enough to earn the Cult Master's serious attention.

"Have you chosen who will be fortunate enough to become the vessel for your spirit?" the Cult Master respectfully inquired of the Immortal. The Immortal had already made his decision: "Lu Yang."

"This individual is ruthless and cunning, with exceptional talent and innate abilities. He barely qualifies to become the vessel for my spirit!"

Despite his words, the Immortal truly believed Lu Yang was the most perfect candidate for spirit possession.

The Cult Master felt a pang of regret. Since becoming Cult Master, he had never encountered anyone more suited to be a demonic cultivator than Lu Yang. It was a pity he had now been chosen by the Immortal.

Nevertheless, being chosen by the Immortal was an honor for Lu Yang. Sacrificing one Lu Yang in exchange for the Immortal regaining his peak power was a highly worthwhile transaction.

"Bring him to the secret chamber."

"Yes."

The Cult Master hovered in the air, releasing his imposing aura. "The competition has concluded. Lu Yang, with the highest palm imprint score, is the first-place winner and has the distinct honor of receiving the Immortal's blessing!"

Lu Yang's outstanding performance was undeniable. Despite this, the other participants still felt a profound sense of regret, believing they had missed out on the Immortal's blessing.

"Lu Yang, come with me," the Cult Master beckoned, causing Lu Yang to float up and follow him to the entrance of the secret chamber.

The Cult Master instructed Lu Yang, "The Immortal's blessing is of great significance. Enter the secret chamber, and you will then understand the meaning of my words."

"Understood."

A genuine smile spread across Lu Yang's face, prompting the Cult Master to nod discreetly. He truly appeared to be a devout follower of the Immortal.

Lu Yang stepped into the secret chamber, noting how impoverished the Immortal Sect must be; the room was pitch black, completely devoid of light.

Suddenly, three sticks of incense lit up in the censer beneath the Immortal's statue. Their smoke curled upwards, coalescing into a human figure that took the form of a benevolent old man.

"Come here, child," the benevolent old man beckoned to Lu Yang.

Upon seeing the benevolent old man, Lu Yang became visibly excited. "You... you are..." The old man smiled and nodded. "Yes, exactly as you've guessed." "You're really a statue spirit?"

The Immortal was speechless.

"Child," the Immortal clarified, "I am the Immortal of Immortality. Tell me your heart's desire, and I shall help you fulfill it."
