Chapter 1227: The Destined Person

This story begins after the fall of the Tinder Dynasty.

After the Tinder Dynasty fell, I originally intended to end my life. However, I hadn't witnessed the Immortal's revival, my past grand declarations remained unfulfilled, and Xiaoling and Lianyi would never get to meet the Immortal. I was truly unwilling to die like that.

The Qilin Immortal sighed. He was reluctant to recall this period, which was arguably the most uncertain and melancholic time of his life.

To escape the pursuit of the Nirvāṇa Immortal, I hid within a rosary. The rosary was passed down through many hands, yet I never encountered someone destined to find me. Later, Sisi's mother picked it up, but she also wasn't destined to find me and never discovered my presence.

After her passing, she bequeathed the rosary to Sisi as a memento. Sisi inadvertently entered the small world within the rosary, and it was then that I decided to mentor him.

Sisi had good cultivation talent and grasped many principles quickly. Under my guidance, his cultivation steadily improved, far surpassing his peers. He successfully passed the various selections of the Great Qian Dynasty, becoming a Divine Lord candidate, and then ultimately, the Divine Lord.

Whenever Lu Yang heard the Four Ancient Immortals diligently teaching their disciples, he would compare them to the Immortal Fairy and sigh inwardly. What could he do? He had to accept his fate, given that he was stuck with the Fairy.

Later, to mitigate the influence of faith power, Emperor Jun and Siming led a group of Half-Immortals and Tribulation Transcenders to hide in the Immortal Palace within the sun, where they cast a seal. In the early years of the Great Yu Dynasty, Emperor Wu Yao added a second seal.

By the time Emperor Jun and Siming finally broke the seal left by Wu Yao, it was already the late Great Yu Dynasty, and chaos was beginning to emerge.

After the seal was broken, I detected that Wu Yao had tampered with the world seal. Considering that Wu Yao's Dao Fruit was a 'Substitution Dao Fruit,' it was easy to deduce what he had done. I felt this was an opportunity.

The world seal was a barrier cast by the Four Ancient Immortals at the bottom of the Six-Faced Continent, using the power of their own Dao Fruits.

Initially, I intended to use Sisi to find clues about the Four Ancient Immortals and leave the sun. However, Sisi was still in a deep sleep at the time, so I had no choice but to leave the rosary to meet Wu Yao.

Just as I predicted, I needed Wu Yao's help, and Wu Yao needed mine.

Wu Yao allowed the Great Yu Dynasty to fall into ruin precisely so he could sacrifice it and substitute himself out of the Box World.

However, he failed; the price he paid was insufficient to substitute himself out.

Furthermore, the world seal bore the power left by the 'Survival of the Fittest Dao Fruit,' meaning repetitive moves could no longer affect the seal.

This meant Wu Yao could not substitute himself out again unless I granted permission.

To this end, he hoped I could temporarily undo the seal of the 'Survival of the Fittest Dao Fruit,' allowing him to continue with the substitution.

I agreed, but in return, I demanded that he substitute in the Immortal Fairy's fated one. Based on past failures in reviving the Immortal, merely uttering her name was not enough; it required genuine luck.

In my estimation, this person needed to possess exceptional luck to revive the Immortal Fairy.

Later, when I heard that Xiaoling and Lianyi had successively appeared, I surmised that the Immortal had already been revived. The battle in Monster City further solidified my conviction, as only the Immortal Fairy could fight the Nirvāṇa Immortal to such a cataclysmic extent.

The Qilin Immortal looked directly into Lu Yang's eyes and stated, word by word, "Young friend Lu, you revived the Immortal. You are her fated one."

Lu Yang felt as if he had been struck by lightning. Although he had long harbored suspicions and shouldn't have been surprised, when the truth was laid bare before him, Lu Yang still felt a sense of unreality, as if he had woken from a dream. "Was I truly substituted in by Wu Yao?"

Immediately, a strange expression crossed Lu Yang's face. Considering his circumstances before death, it seemed Wu Yao's substituted situation might not be ideal. Wu Yao's equipment and Dao Fruit were all in the Senior Sister's hands, and his own body had been blasted into smithereens. Was Wu Yao's immortal body substituted out, or was it shattered by the Senior Sister? "Never mind," he thought, "no need to dwell on it. Wu Yao has profound good fortune; he'll be fine."

The Central Heavenly Emperor looked at Lu Yang in disbelief. He had always wanted to leave the Box World and see what lay beyond, never imagining that Lu Yang was from outside. He hastily asked, "What is the world outside truly like?"

"Aha, Xiaoyangzi, you truly are this Immortal's fated one!" the Immortal Fairy exclaimed, grinning as she hugged Lu Yang and stroked his head.

"Fa-Fairy, please don't do that." Lu Yang was momentarily flustered, unsure how to react, and quickly pushed the Immortal Fairy away. Even after spending so much time with the Fairy, Lu Yang still wasn't accustomed to such intimate contact.

"Xiaoyangzi, are you blushing?" The Immortal Fairy found it quite novel to see Lu Yang blush for the first time. "No, I'm not," Lu Yang stammered, his expression flustered, and quickly changed the subject.

"Fairy, aren't you surprised that I'm from outside this world?"

The Immortal Fairy exclaimed, "What's so strange about that? This Immortal is also considered to be from outside." Lu Yang realized she had a point; before the Fairy's demise, the Box World didn't exist, so she, too, could be considered to be from outside.

The Immortal Fairy poked Lu Yang's arm and asked curiously, "Quickly tell this Immortal, what did you experience in the outside world? Did you self-detonate?"

"Huh?" Lu Yang was even more surprised than before. "Fairy, you can tell that?"

The Immortal Fairy put her hands on her hips proudly, raising her chin. "Of course! How many times do you think this Immortal has self-detonated? I can tell at a glance if someone has or hasn't." She continued, "Didn't I tell you long ago? You are naturally suited for our Immortal lineage!"

Lu Yang opened his mouth, instinctively wanting to retort, but the words wouldn't come out. This truly was a matter of fate.

Lu Yang suddenly remembered another question: "By the way, Senior Qilin Immortal, since you left the rosary, doesn't that mean Greydou knows your location?"

The Central Heavenly Emperor was eager to ask, "Who is Greydou?" The Qilin Immortal paused, then asked on behalf of the Central Heavenly Emperor, "Who is Greydou?" "That's the Nirvāṇa Immortal," Lu Yang clarified. The Qilin Immortal said, "Oh," but the Central Heavenly Emperor still didn't understand and spoke up, "Who is the Nirvāṇa Immortal?" No one answered his question. The Qilin Immortal said, "Of course she knows my location."

"Aren't you afraid of her?" The Qilin Immortal chuckled lightly, no longer appearing as dejected as before now that he knew the Time Immortal was still alive. "Are you kidding? Why would I be afraid of her?"

Lu Yang hadn't expected the Qilin Immortal to be so powerful. No wonder he dared to call himself the foremost of the Four Ancient Immortals; he truly was extraordinary. "Did you fight her?"

"No, I didn't. I had Wu Yao block the Nirvāṇa Immortal. He had no choice but to stop her; if I died, the seal would remain, and he'd be trapped forever." The Qilin Immortal couldn't help but praise Wu Yao as he recalled the scene, remarking that Wu Yao was a truly helpful ally, very trustworthy, and extremely resilient, creating an opportunity for him to escape. Lu Yang was speechless. "Wu Yao must have had the worst luck in eight lifetimes to make a deal with you."
