Chapter 1120: Soybean Dynasty Ancestral Temple

Lu Yang and Immortal Fairy's consciousness simultaneously returned to the Buddhist realm.

"Huh? Where am I?" Lu Yang found himself in a dilapidated temple, sitting cross-legged on a lotus platform, holding his fingers in a lotus mudra, like a Buddha statue. Outside, rain pattered.

"Oh, Young Cult Master, you're awake?" Jin Caiwei, who was guarding Lu Yang, noticed he had finally woken up and went out to call the other women back.

Lu Yang's mind was a bit muddled. He vaguely remembered that three days ago, when Barbarian Bone summoned him away, he had just arrived in the Buddhist realm, surrounded by desert. How was it that only three days had passed and he had been moved to a temple? And which temple was this? "You're awake?"

"Oh, this temple is quite interesting." Immortal Fairy floated out, examining the temple with great interest. The person who built this temple had quite a creative mind. "Second Boss, you're awake?" "Immortal Sister is back too?" "Welcome back, Master."

The women had waited for three days and finally saw Immortal Fairy and Lu Yang awaken.

"Third Boss, did you build this temple?" Immortal Fairy asked with a smile. Lu Yang, lacking experience, couldn't discern anything unusual, but she immediately recognized the temple's distinctiveness.

Yun Mengmeng chuckled shyly. "It wasn't just my idea. The main thing was that when First Boss and Second Boss left, they didn't say when they'd be back. We couldn't just let you two stand in the desert indefinitely. We originally thought about going into the city, but with so many of us, and since you, Second Boss, always say to keep a low profile when traveling, we decided it would be better to build a temple right here to shield us from wind and rain."

"Then I suggested that since we were building a temple, we might as well use food as the raw material."

As she spoke, Yun Mengmeng walked up to Lu Yang. A lotus served as Lu Yang's seat. She broke off a piece of the lotus and put it into Lu Yang's mouth. "Second Boss, try this. Is it delicious?"

Lu Yang instinctively took a bite and was surprised to find that while he didn't know the ingredients, the lotus was truly delicious. "This isn't a lotus, is it? It's a leaf from an Immortal Spirit Fruit?" Immortal Fairy asked.

"Yes, Master," Qing He replied. She explained that it was a leaf from an Immortal Spirit Fruit she had cultivated from an embryonic Immortal Dao Fruit. It was only a step away from being an immortal artifact, so precious it couldn't be measured in spirit stones.

"These windows are Flat Spirit Fruits!" Jin Caiwei exclaimed excitedly, having contributed significantly to the temple's construction. "The lamp oil is honey I brought from the Demonic Realm."

"...So, this entire temple is edible?"

Lu Yang finally understood why Immortal Fairy praised the temple's unique construction. It was indeed unusual, serving as both shelter and food—killing two birds with one stone. "It's raining outside, isn't it? Is this temple okay?" Judging by the sound, it was raining heavily.

"No worries, the temple was built using waterproof food!" Yun Mengmeng confidently declared. Their purpose in building the temple was to provide shelter from wind and rain, so there was no way it could be washed away. "Is it not finished yet? Some parts are still broken. I can help if it's not complete."

Lu Yang pointed to a section of the wall where a small hole was visible.

Jin Caiwei cautiously raised her hand. "That part was eaten by me." So, they were building and eating at the same time?

Yun Mengmeng grinned and took Lu Yang's and Immortal Fairy's hands, leading them outside the temple. "Look, this is the name everyone came up with for the temple."

On the plaque, the three large characters "Soybean Temple" were exceptionally striking.

"This temple is indeed well-built. Let's just make it the ancestral temple of our Soybean Dynasty." Immortal Fairy had heard that ancestral temples were built in every dynasty, and while their Soybean Dynasty was new, it would eventually need one.

Everyone but Lu Yang was delighted, as this meant Immortal Fairy affirmed their three days of hard work. The Soybean Dynasty finally had a stronghold in the real world.

Lu Yang found the ancestral temple's construction truly indescribable, but since everyone agreed, he, as an immortal, found it difficult to object. "Then I'll help out and perfect our ancestral temple."

"I hereby establish a rule: Repair the Soybean Dynasty's Ancestral Temple."

Using his immortal body to establish rules in the Buddhist realm was thousands of times easier than at Dao Inquiry Sect. The Buddhist realm truly was a wonderful place. Countless golden streams of faith power emerged, transforming into food, filling the temple's holes.

In the blink of an eye, the ancestral temple was completely revitalized, looking exactly as it did when first built.

Jin Caiwei curiously tasted a repaired section and shook her head. "Young Cult Master, this won't do. Food made with the power of rules has no soul." "Let me try too." Yun Mengmeng, Qing He, and others successively stepped forward to taste, all agreeing it wasn't as delicious as what they had made.

"Little Yangzi, you must have respect for food," Immortal Fairy also emerged to point out Lu Yang's conceptual error. Lu Yang: "..."

I'm sorry, I was wrong. Can I practice the power of rules in a different way?

Out of respect for the food, Lu Yang withdrew his rule power, turning the ancestral temple back into a dilapidated one. "Someone's coming."

Lu Yang suddenly said. As he released his immortal consciousness to perceive the world, he detected a group of people approaching. They were all mortals, seemingly seeking shelter from the rain. "Quickly, hide."

Everyone hurried into the temple, either sitting or standing on the lotus platforms, changing their appearances to disguise themselves as Buddhas or Bodhisattvas. "Uncle Wang, there's a temple here! Let's take shelter from the rain inside!"

A group of people rushed forward, overjoyed to see the temple.

"That's strange. When did a temple appear here?" Uncle Wang stood outside, feeling something was off. "Soybean Temple? I've never heard of such a place."

"Never mind, come in quickly."

If they continued to get soaked like this, they would definitely catch a cold, which would make traveling difficult.

They scrambled into the temple, finding that despite its dilapidated state, it provided perfect shelter from the wind and rain. "Phew—we're alive again."

They unloaded their luggage, checked for any wet spots, and took off their clothes to dry them.

"Which Buddha is this?" As they settled down, they became curious about the temple, noticing that they didn't recognize any of the Buddha or Bodhisattva statues. Nevertheless, the statues were all solemn and inspiring, filling them with awe.

"Look at this little Bodhisattva, so small." This was said of Jin Caiwei.

"Silence! Show reverence, and don't be rude!" Uncle Wang reprimanded them, then led them to kneel before each Buddha and Bodhisattva statue, thanking them for allowing them to shelter from the rain.

Finally, Uncle Wang took out a bag of spirit stones. Though not many, it was a sincere offering, which he placed into the merit box at the foot of a Buddha statue. "Uncle Wang, weren't these the spirit stones you found at the graveyard? Why give them to the Buddha statue?" A companion asked, confused.

Uncle Wang sighed deeply and remarked, "I found this bag of spirit stones yesterday, and today I encountered a temple. How could such a coincidence exist in the world? There must be a destiny at play. It means these spirit stones were not meant for me, but rather for the temple."

With the rain over and the sky clear, Uncle Wang and his companions led their horses away from the temple.

Lu Yang hopped down from the lotus platform and gazed at the merit box at his feet, his expression strange. He felt a connection between the bag of spirit stones and his lifespan. "Why does this stuff feel so much like 'life-buying money'?"
