Chapter 109: Senior Sister, Have I Learned It?

When Daoist Buyu learned he had a chance to be released, he was so eager that he almost wished to become Lu Yang's disciple. Lu Yang, startled, quickly declined, saying it was out of the question.

When Lu Yang shared his ideas with Daoist Buyu, Daoist Buyu also agreed that what Lu Yang said made a lot of sense.

"Indeed," Daoist Buyu said, "we've overlooked the power of publicity. Mortals know far too little about cultivation, the Five Great Immortal Sects, and other sects."

Daoist Buyu stroked his beard in thought. "Compiling storytelling narratives about the Wayseeking Sect is truly a skillful task," he mused. "Please allow me to ponder it for a bit."

"Our Wayseeking Sect has a history of 120,000 years, which can be divided into three stages: the creation of the sect by Primordial Daoist, its establishment as one of the Five Great Immortal Sects by Primordial Heaven Sovereign, and its revival by Han Hai Daojun, the Ancestor of Restoration. Each stage has many stories that can be told. Just the opening, 'Primordial Daoist's Cosmic Inquiry,' alone can provide a wealth of material."

Lu Yang thought to himself, "As expected of Master. To be able to frame Primordial Daoist getting lost as something as grand as 'Cosmic Inquiry' – this skill alone is worth learning for a while."

"Of course," he continued, "we can't omit current events; that's the key. For instance, I can't be described as being picked up by Junior Brother Three. It should be changed to someone born of heaven and earth, destined to arise with the times, born with a short sword in hand, its hilt inscribed with the character 'Kill'... *cough*, I'm just joking, I wouldn't really say that."

Daoist Buyu met his Senior Sister's icy glare and instantly caved. "I will definitely describe everything truthfully, without a shred of falsehood!" he quickly assured.

Daoist Buyu said in a pleading tone, "My dear disciple, could you please release your master first? Regarding the Wayseeking Sect's deeds of slaying demons, eradicating evil, and upholding justice, your eight Senior Uncles are the actual participants. For your master to compile these narratives, I must certainly ask them for the detailed processes. Only then can I have room to elaborate."

Yun Zhi felt that what he said this time was quite reasonable, so she prepared to release her master.

Then Yun Zhi simply left. Daoist Buyu panicked, shouting from behind, "My dear disciple, you haven't released your master yet!"

Yun Zhi replied without turning her head, "Meditate in the cave for three days, and the barrier will disappear on its own."

Lu Yang thought to himself, "Good heavens! So Master has been imprisoned for ten years and yet hasn't managed to meditate for three consecutive days. No wonder Senior Sister doesn't want to release him."

Lu Yang jogged to catch up with his Senior Sister and eagerly said, "Senior Sister, I want to learn a spell that can be cast using only my mouth."

"Why is that?" Yun Zhi asked.

"When I fight," Lu Yang explained, "I've noticed that my feet can dodge and attack, and my hands can hold a sword and cast concealed weapons – all have their uses. Only my mouth is useless."

"Think about it," Lu Yang continued, "if I'm in a stalemate with an enemy, weapons clashing, neither able to gain an advantage, and I suddenly cast a spell with my mouth, catching them off guard, I'm guaranteed to win!"

Yun Zhi couldn't quite grasp what Lu Yang meant by "stalemate with an enemy," as her battles were always overwhelming victories. However, since Lu Yang was willing to learn, she had no reason to stop him.

"I have a technique," Yun Zhi began, "once learned, you can exhale Youjin Qi, capable of cutting hair with a breath. It requires a Metal Spirit Root constitution; your Sword Spirit Root barely qualifies. However, it requires a few breaths of charge time, and you cannot perform other actions during the charge."

Lu Yang shook his head. "The limitations are too great," he said. "It's useful for sneak attacks, but rarely in direct combat."

"How about the Samadhi True Fire?" Yun Zhi suggested. "It gathers power in your abdomen, and once exhaled, the upper, middle, and lower true fires can only be extinguished by water without a source. However, the learning difficulty is too high; it might take several months. You've never learned Five Elements spells before, so I don't know what your talent is in this area."

Yun Zhi suddenly fell silent. She remembered that the first Five Elements spell Lu Yang learned was Shrink Ground.

Lu Yang was delighted. "It's the famous Samadhi True Fire!" he thought. "If there's a chance to learn, I must learn it. Even if I can't, at least I'll have tried and put the thought to rest."

"I want to learn Samadhi True Fire," Lu Yang declared.

Seeing Lu Yang had made his choice, Yun Zhi didn't stop him. She took him to the place where he first began cultivating.

It was here that Lu Yang practiced lifting the vat and grabbing tofu, successfully guiding Qi into his body, a place of great commemorative significance.

Yun Zhi explained in a calm tone, "The so-called Samadhi True Fire refers to the three fires: Spirit, Essence, and Mortal. Their classification is similar in principle to the River Spirit Axe."

"The Heart is the sovereign fire, also known as the Spirit Fire, named Upper Samadhi," she continued. "The Kidneys are the ministerial fire, also known as the Essence Fire, named Middle Samadhi. The Bladder, which is the Sea of Qi below the navel, is the commoner fire, named Lower Samadhi."

"When casting the Samadhi True Fire, you must focus on the three locations: heart, kidneys, and bladder."

"I've told you before to keep your kidney water consistently full; this is precisely why," she explained. "The human body has Five Elements, and most Five Elements spells rely on the Five Organs, so kidney water is crucial."

"I will demonstrate it for you; observe carefully."

Yun Zhi aimed at a large tree. With a slight opening of her lips, she exhaled a stream of Samadhi True Fire. A tree as thick as a person's embrace instantly turned to ashes. Lu Yang didn't even have time to react!

This was even after Yun Zhi had tried her best to reduce its power. If she had used her full power, it would be debatable whether Tianmen Peak would even remain.

"Have you learned it?" she asked.

Lu Yang hesitated. Senior Sister's teaching methods were always mysterious, and the key was his own comprehension. "I'll try," he said.

He had created his own "Heart-Illumination and Nature-Perception Art," which allowed him to discern the essence of things. This was also one of the reasons he wanted to learn the spells taught by his Senior Sister.

It was time to showcase the power of his self-created cultivation method!

Lu Yang mobilized the spiritual power within his body, concentrating it in his heart, kidneys, and bladder. With a forceful exhalation, he spat saliva ten meters away!

"Samadhi True Fire!" Lu Yang shouted, refusing to believe it. His saliva again flew ten meters!

"Ptooey!"

"Ptooey!"

Lu Yang continuously cast the spell, spitting until his mouth was completely dry.

Samadhi True Fire was indeed difficult to learn.

Seeing Lu Yang struggling to learn, Yun Zhi handed him a gourd. Lu Yang took a sip and found it extraordinarily sweet, like jade nectar.

"What kind of water is this? It's so sweet!" Lu Yang exclaimed.

"Sugar water," Yun Zhi replied.

Lu Yang was speechless.

Of course sugar water is sweet.

With persistent spirit, Lu Yang repeatedly tried, practicing from noon until evening, and finally began to grasp the knack.

"This time, it will definitely work! Samadhi True Fire, exhale!" Lu Yang mustered all his strength, mobilized all the spiritual energy in his body, and circulated it through his greater and lesser circulations. With a fierce exhalation, blazing flames shot from his mouth, scorching the large tree, which crackled and popped!

"It worked!" Lu Yang smiled, realizing he truly had a talent for learning spells. He had learned in one afternoon a spell that typically took several months.

Yun Zhi, watching from the side, felt that something was off with the flames. She stepped forward, disregarding the high temperature, picked up a small pinch, rubbed it between her fingers, and then licked her fingertip.

"Sweet?" she murmured.

Why would flames have a taste?

"Cast it again," she instructed.

Lu Yang didn't understand why, but again exhaled the true fire. Yun Zhi tasted it again. "Salty?" she wondered.

"One more time," she said.

Yun Zhi tasted it again. "Spicy?" she exclaimed.

Yun Zhi repeatedly tried, finding that Lu Yang's flames were extremely powerful, but had a very peculiar taste: either sweet, salty, or spicy.

Lu Yang eagerly ran over. "Senior Sister, have I learned it?" he asked.

Yun Zhi looked at Lu Yang with a strange expression. "You've learned it," she said, "but you've learned 'Three Flavors True Fire'."

"Three Flavors True Fire?" Lu Yang repeated, puzzled.
