Chapter 1036: Senior Brother Dai, I Have Become an Immortal

In ancient times, the Time Immortal rarely suffered defeat. The fundamental reason for this was his ability to foresee the future, knowing whether his chances of winning or losing a battle were greater.

This ability was praised by the Immortal of Immortality as the "Great Invincible Elixir!"

After the Time Immortal saw all future possibilities, he broke out in a cold sweat, inwardly cursing Mingyu for being unreliable.

The true sect master of Wen Dao Sect? With such astonishing cultivation, it would be more accurate to say she was the true ruler of Great Xia!

At this thought, the Time Immortal's face broke into a smile. He already had a Buddha-like appearance, and his smile became even more benevolent.

"I have known the Immortal of Immortality for a long time," he said. "How could I not believe her words?"

"She said you are the strongest in this era," he continued, "so you must certainly be the strongest in this era!"

The Time Immortal changed the future with mere words, and no one perceived it, which was a testament to his immense power!

"So, it's true that I'll be the strongest in the future?" Lu Yang asked, pointing at himself, greatly excited. Although the future was elusive, if the Time Immortal, who controlled time, offered such an assessment, then the future would be very credible.

"Of course, young friend Lu Yang is certainly the strongest in the future," the Time Immortal said with certainty. Now, if anyone claimed Lu Yang wasn't the strongest in the future, he would vehemently disagree.

"You possess the embryonic form of an Immortal Dao Fruit and an immortal body. You are no longer merely in the Spirit Transformation stage, but have created an entirely new realm—the Immortal Transformation stage!"

"Creating something from nothing, creating a new realm—this is something only ancient sages could achieve!"

Lu Yang gasped. So he was really that powerful?

The Senior Disciple Sister was also curious about the Time Immortal's experiences over the past 300,000 years, so the Time Immortal had to recount how he had traversed time throughout those years.

"Elder Time Immortal's methods are truly marvelous," Yun Zhi praised.

Faced with Yun Zhi's praise, the Time Immortal could only offer an awkward smile.

"Elder Time Immortal, would you like to visit our Wen Dao Sect?" Lu Yang invited.

"No," he replied. "The Western Temple has just endured a great battle, and there might be more unforeseen incidents. I will remain in the Grand Hall as a temporary safeguard."

"Please keep my existence a secret for now, to avoid any unexpected complications."

"What about Elder Ying Tian Immortal...?" Lu Yang asked.

"There's no need to see him, nor to inform him of my existence," the Time Immortal stated. "Ying Tian, Nine Heavens, and Qilin—I don't trust any of them right now."

After saying this, the Time Immortal paused. "However, the Heaven-Splitting Axe can be returned to Ying Tian Immortal. It's been borrowed for 300,000 years, so it's time to return it."

"Uh, Elder Ying Tian Immortal forged a new weapon for himself," Lu Yang awkwardly said, "and it seems he doesn't really need the Heaven-Splitting Axe."

"Is that so?" the Time Immortal responded. "Then I will continue to keep it for him." He took the Heaven-Splitting Axe that Lu Yang handed him.

Should another unexpected incident occur at the Western Temple, the Heaven-Splitting Axe could still conceal his presence.

"One more thing," the Time Immortal asked. "How is that child, Tang Chuanwu?"

"We were worried about him encountering further trouble, so he's currently residing at our Wen Dao Sect."

"I recall he has no spiritual roots," the Time Immortal said, picking up several different spiritual fruits from the offering table.

These were offerings from the Grand Hall, and each spiritual fruit was of immeasurable value.

"Have him eat these fruits in the specified order," he instructed, "they can help him form acquired Golden Spiritual Roots."

"I thank you on Chuanwu's behalf, Elder," Lu Yang said.

"It's a small matter," the Time Immortal replied.

Lu Yang and his two companions bid farewell to the Time Immortal and left the Grand Hall, with the Time Immortal waving them off.

After seeing the trio off, the Time Immortal gazed at the desolate Western Temple and mumbled softly.

"Young friend Lu Yang really blew it up thoroughly," he said to himself. "I wonder when the Western Temple can be repaired."

"Will the Heavenly Venerate never return?" In the dead of night, Xinding tossed and turned on his bed, thinking only of the day's battle.

The battle had been chaotic, and no one had noticed that the Azure Edge Sword flew out from behind him.

After that battle, the Heavenly Venerate disappeared and never reappeared.

Suddenly, faint golden light appeared in his tent. The light gathered, coalescing into a golden figure.

"Little monk," the golden figure said, "are you still awake at this late hour?"

"Heavenly Venerate!" Xinding exclaimed.

The Tofu Heavenly Venerate stood with his hands behind his back, looking up at the sky, his eyes filled with vicissitude. "The Western Temple ultimately became ruins because of my appearance," he said. "However, after this battle, my karma has been resolved, and there is no longer any reason for me to remain."

"Heavenly Venerate, may I go with you?" Xinding asked, gazing reluctantly at the Tofu Heavenly Venerate. Although they had only been together for a few months, Xinding had long since regarded the Tofu Heavenly Venerate as his master.

The Tofu Heavenly Venerate shook his head. "Little monk, you are naturally enlightened in Buddhism. If you were to join my lineage, it would hinder your progress. Staying at the Western Temple is the best choice for you."

"If you cultivate diligently," he added, "there may come a time when you see me again."

After saying this, the Tofu Heavenly Venerate once again transformed into specks of golden light and vanished.

Lu Yang arrived at the gates of Xitian City and met up with his Senior Disciple Sister and Second Senior Disciple Brother.

"All done?" they asked.

"Yes, it's done," Lu Yang replied. "Let's go back."

Ye Zijin circled Lu Yang curiously. "Little Junior Brother, did you really become an immortal?"

He still couldn't understand how his Little Junior Brother had become like this.

"Only within the Buddha Kingdom, and this isn't true immortality," Lu Yang said modestly.

When Lu Yang left the Buddha Kingdom, he left his immortal body, along with the embryonic form of the Immortal Dao Fruit, within it. If he returned to the Buddha Kingdom, he could become an immortal again at any time.

Although he was somewhat reluctant, he couldn't remain in the Buddha Kingdom indefinitely just for that reason.

"Back to the Sect!" Lu Yang declared.

Lu Yang spoke with his chest out and head held high, full of confidence. This visit to the Buddha Kingdom had been very fruitful, as he had found the Heaven-Splitting Axe and the Time Immortal, gained an immortal body, and captured Lord Sichen. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to call him the great hero who saved the Buddha Kingdom.

Then Lu Yang secretly crossed the border, returning to Great Xia.

He had been taken out of Great Xia by the Beast of Nian, so there was no record of his departure.

Lu Yang returned to the familiar Wen Dao Sect and finally relaxed.

Although the Buddha Kingdom was good, the Wen Dao Sect was still where he felt most comfortable.

"Senior Sister, see you in a bit!" Lu Yang said, turning to bid a temporary farewell before heading straight for the Mission Hall.

Such a major event had occurred in the Buddha Kingdom, and he had even captured Lord Sichen. How many contribution points could this earn him?

In the room, Dai Bufan held a piece of intelligence, frowning and rubbing his chin, when he heard a familiar knock at the door.

"Senior Brother Dai, are you there?" Lu Yang called out.

"Ah, Junior Brother Lu," Dai Bufan responded. "Come in."

Lu Yang pushed the door open and entered, radiating warmth, a stark contrast to the frowning and pensive Dai Bufan.

"Junior Brother Lu, you've come at just the right time," Dai Bufan said, beckoning Lu Yang over. "I just received intelligence that Lord Sichen of Great Qian attacked the Western Temple, but was defeated by a mysterious immortal who suddenly appeared. I heard from Senior Sister that you have a strong affinity with immortals. Do you know who this mysterious immortal is?"

"Yes, I do," Lu Yang replied.

"You actually do?" Dai Bufan exclaimed, surprised. He had just asked casually without much hope, and Junior Brother Lu really had an answer?

"Who is it?" he pressed.

Lu Yang proudly pointed to himself. "It's me."

"Huh?" Dai Bufan was utterly confused, not understanding what Lu Yang meant, or rather, his current understanding simply couldn't comprehend Lu Yang's words.

Seeing that Senior Brother Dai didn't believe him, Lu Yang pulled out a recording orb, which showed the battle with Lord Sichen from a first-person perspective.

"Senior Brother Dai, I've become an immortal," Lu Yang announced.
