Chapter 974: Large Universe-Class Organism

"A message from a Great Cosmos-level evolver?!" Chu Feng was naturally shocked. The inscription was densely packed and incredibly difficult to decipher, written in an ancient script from the Yang Realm. Chu Feng studied it for a long time but could only make out a few characters, and the content itself was naturally startling. He immediately focused on the end of the inscription, the part that disturbed him the most. The signature was astonishing, claiming to be "a half-crippled being on the Great Cosmos path." Following "half-crippled" were two characters, the name of the inscription's author, but Chu Feng did not recognize them.

He was no longer ignorant; having spent a long time with the Stone Fox, he naturally understood everything about the Yang Realm. Great Cosmos-level evolvers were terrifying entities, having nearly reached the end of the evolutionary path. Once they attained that level, outsiders had no idea what form such beings took or what they transformed into. With no further path, they had to forge their own continuation of the broken road! Even the Stone Fox regarded such beings with both awe and reverence!

"He knew his life was ebbing and wanted to enter the Great Netherworld to extend it..." Chu Feng pondered the text. The more abstruse it was, the more interested he became, for it was left by a being at the very forefront of evolution. He managed to decipher a small portion of its meaning. This ancient being, much like Great Cosmos-level beings from even more distant eras, had ultimately failed. It was on the verge of collapsing on the path of evolution, entering the mid-to-late stages of life's decay. This individual wanted to enter the Great Netherworld but couldn't find the way!

Beings of this caliber had naturally conducted various deductions, believing the Great Netherworld truly existed. However, after leaving the Yang Realm, this being ultimately only entered the Lesser Netherworld. Yet, even there, he discovered anomalies, seeing various traces in the primordial chaos: battlefields from incredibly ancient times, presenting a terrifying sight. In this being's view, these were likely the remnants of a great war fought long ago by ultimate powerhouses at the cutting edge of evolution.

As he proceeded, this individual discovered new clues, which moved and even horrified him. He felt that this place was originally far from simple; it had merely been shattered. In the past, it might have been unimaginably glorious, with an evolutionary civilization of absurdly high standing. This person even found a clue to an ultimate evolutionary path within the Yang Realm's evolutionary civilization!

"What's going on?" Chu Feng felt a bit bewildered. This being, who called himself a "half-crippled Great Cosmos-level" evolver, seemed to have a rather unconventional train of thought. Hadn't Great Cosmos-level beings reached the end of the path? Why was he speculating about an "ultimate path" now? Moreover, people in the Yang Realm believed that as time progressed, the evolutionary path would become increasingly perfected. How could this Great Cosmos-level being's message imply that there was another path? This made Chu Feng's heart pound, stirring a strange excitement within him.

He frowned even harder, dedicating all his mental energy to studying the characters on the stone tablet. He truly regretted not having humbly sought more guidance from the Stone Fox to thoroughly research the ancient scripts of the Yang Realm. Now, he could only deduce, constantly guessing characters and relying on context to identify them. Chu Feng struggled immensely, deciphering the inscription bit by bit.

The longer he spent, the more deeply moved he became, his heart surging with turbulent waves. The Great Cosmos-level being's text mentioned that in unimaginably distant eras, the path of evolution had fluctuated, experiencing periods of extreme glory and times of decline. During some of those brilliant periods, the evolutionary path had branched, with civilizations heading in different directions. The current evolutionary civilization was merely one path that had branched off multiple times from previous forks! Upon reading this, Chu Feng's body stiffened slightly, but his heart trembled—there was only one path now! If one were to trace it back, it would be quite astonishing. The Great Cosmos-level being believed that if one were to trace it back, the other paths might not necessarily be wrong. But where was the light of civilization from those other evolutionary paths shining now? Chu Feng continued to read, carefully studying the inscription.
