Chapter 87: Out-of-Body Experience

"What is this?" Wang Jing was very surprised, looking at the gleaming particles in Chu Feng's hand, and was momentarily speechless.

"Could these be exotic fruits?" Chu Zhiyuan, comparatively calmer, immediately thought of this, though he had never seen them before.

"Yes, they are!" Chu Feng admitted.

"What?!" Both Wang Jing and Chu Zhiyuan were stunned by his confirmation, unable to maintain their composure. Their hearts pounded with disbelief.

They knew how incredibly expensive these items were. Shuntian, a major northern hub and one of the country's largest cities, had a few high-end stores where exotic fruits were occasionally sold at astronomical prices. Rumor had it that even the lowest-grade exotic fruit cost eight million Earth coins, equivalent to at least forty million Kyushu coins!

Now, their son, Chu Feng, had actually brought back such an item. How could they not be utterly alarmed?!

"Xiao Feng... where did you get these?" Wang Jing's voice was strained.

"I brought them back from Mount Taihang," Chu Feng said calmly, opening his palm for them to examine more closely. In his hand were twelve pine nuts, each one a shimmering purple, gleaming like a diamond, and emitting a delicate fragrance. Just looking at them, they seemed extraordinary—less like nuts and more like captivating, brilliant works of art.

"Purple-gold pine nuts... could they be seeds from that small tree on Mount Taihang?" Chu Zhiyuan quickly regained his composure and made an accurate guess.

"Exactly, they're the fruits from that pine tree!" Chu Feng confirmed.

"Oh my goodness, I heard that white snake has been guarding that place, and many awakened beings fought over it. Who knows how many died? And you... you actually brought some back." Wang Jing was incredibly shocked; the more she understood, the more terrified she became. She quickly pulled Chu Feng closer, checking him for any old injuries. Almost a month had passed, yet the battle at Mount Taihang was still frequently discussed, having claimed thousands of awakened lives and shocked the entire world.

"Mom, don't worry, I'm perfectly fine, not a single scratch on me!" Chu Feng reassured her.

"These fruits are extraordinary; their value is immeasurable," Chu Zhiyuan stated, fully grasping their significance. Even fruits from ordinary plants were already sky-high in price, starting at a minimum of forty million Kyushu coins. Seeds from an extraordinary pine tree were simply unimaginable. No one would sell them; even a whisper of their existence would cause a sensation. These items were priceless because they could cultivate masters.

"These aren't complete pine cones, just a portion of the pine nuts, but they're enough for you, Mom and Dad," Chu Feng explained. The small tree discovered by Vajra and others yielded a single fruit, but the pine tree on Mount Taihang produced many pine nuts, allowing multiple people to evolve. While these distributed pine nuts could create several powerful individuals, their effects couldn't compare to what Vajra and his group experienced. For most, consuming four or five pine nuts was enough; more wouldn't significantly further improve their physique. The purple-gold pine nuts simply had this characteristic: they seemed to favor the evolution of a group rather than pushing an individual to the absolute peak. Still, even a few of these pine nuts combined were far superior to the mysterious fruits produced by other plants.

"Xiao Feng, a lot must have happened to you. Tell me, are you stronger than ordinary awakened beings now?" Chu Zhiyuan, lost in thought, asked his son.

"Yes!" Chu Feng replied with certainty, reassuring his parents that even with the dangers outside, he was strong enough to face anything.

"Then I'm relieved. Today, I was most likely deliberately hit; there might be something more to it. But I was afraid you'd act rashly, so I kept it from you," Chu Zhiyuan said. An awakened being had previously tried to harm them, and this time, he again sensed something was wrong, harboring hidden worries. Now, Chu Zhiyuan felt a little more at ease.

"Dad, Mom, don't worry about this; don't be afraid. I'll handle it," Chu Feng reassured them. However, a surge of anger erupted within him. This was no accident; his father had confirmed that someone had deliberately tried to kill him. Chu Feng was furious. This wasn't the first time; people had repeatedly tried to harm his parents. This was unforgivable; he would uproot them all! Despite the danger, his father had kept it hidden, fearing he would act rashly and get into trouble. This made Chu Feng feel uneasy and guilty, knowing those people were originally targeting him.

"That person is despicable!" Wang Jing said angrily.

"Xiao Feng, do you still need these pine nuts to improve your physique?" Chu Zhiyuan asked.

"I don't need them anymore," Chu Feng informed them.

"Good, then we'll eat these pine nuts." Chu Zhiyuan nodded.

Chu Feng suppressed his anger. In front of his parents, he remained calm, not wanting to worry them, and even joked, "Dad, didn't you say 'awakened beings' should be called 'demons,' and I felt you and Mom were a bit repulsed by them? Why are you suddenly so enthusiastic now?" "At that time, we had no chance to obtain exotic fruits, so that was just comforting ourselves," Chu Zhiyuan said with a laugh, not blushing at all. In this regard, father and son were very similar.

"In this world, great chaos is bound to erupt in the future. To live well, one must possess sufficient strength for self-preservation," Chu Zhiyuan said seriously. "There's no choice. Even if eating the exotic fruit makes horns grow or scales appear, we still have to eat it!"

"Will horns really grow?" Wang Jing's face paled. After all, she was a woman, and even with her youth fading, she still cared deeply about her personal appearance.

"Don't worry, I won't mind you," Chu Zhiyuan chuckled.

"But I'll mind you!" Wang Jing glared at him.

Their relationship was strong; they had always been like this.

Chu Feng chuckled, forcefully cracking open the twelve purple-diamond-like pine nuts, urging them to eat them quickly.

Chu Zhiyuan didn't hesitate. He picked up six pine nuts, put them directly into his mouth, and said, "They taste really good!" He was decisive, swallowing them quickly—a trait he shared with Chu Feng, acting immediately once a decision was made.

"Mom, eat them, it's fine!" Chu Feng urged.

Wang Jing gritted her teeth and put the six pine nuts into her mouth, closing her eyes as if heading to an execution. She genuinely feared horns would sprout after she ate them.

"So fragrant!" she suddenly exclaimed, for the purple-gold seeds indeed had an exquisite taste, far surpassing ordinary pine nuts.

"Huh, I haven't turned strange?" Wang Jing waited for a long time but felt no changes in herself.

"The transformation takes some time. Different people have different reactions; the process can involve pain, drowsiness, or fever, but don't worry, everything will be fine," Chu Feng reminded them. He was, in fact, quite excited, curious to see what changes his parents would undergo and what mysterious factors their bodies contained.

Half an hour passed, and neither of them showed any signs of discomfort.

"I imagine after a good night's sleep, everything will be completely different when you wake up tomorrow," Chu Feng said, sounding relaxed.

"Ding-dong!" Suddenly, the doorbell rang. A sharp glint appeared in Chu Feng's eyes. He gestured for his mother to open the door, while he stood up and temporarily moved towards his own room.

"What's wrong, Xiao Feng?"

"Don't worry, just handle it normally," Chu Feng said. He had sensed something; the person outside had a strange aura.

"Tongtian Express!" After the door opened, a young man handed over a package.

"Oh, it's the clothes I ordered online," Wang Jing said with a slight sigh of relief.

However, the delivery person walked straight in and closed the door behind him.

"You... what do you want?" Wang Jing asked, her guard up, quickly stepping back.

"Nothing much, I heard someone in your family injured their back, so I came to take a look." The Tongtian Express delivery person smiled and entered Chu Zhiyuan's bedroom. He acted with an air of casual arrogance, treating the place as his own and completely disregarding Wang Jing and Chu Zhiyuan's feelings. He sat down nonchalantly and said, "How's the injury? I don't suppose your back is broken, is it?"

Wang Jing was furious; this person was truly despicable. Chu Zhiyuan gestured for her not to say anything more.

"Who are you, and how do you know I was injured? What do you want in our house?" Chu Zhiyuan asked, knowing this was likely what Chu Feng wanted to find out as well. Despite her anger, Wang Jing remained silent.

The delivery man had an ordinary appearance, with no obvious characteristics of an awakened being. Only his eyes seemed eerie, occasionally glowing with a terrifying blue light.

"It seems your injury isn't severe. I originally expected you to be run over by a car, with both legs broken and multiple fractures, but not to die. It's a pity the desired effect wasn't achieved." The man spoke with a tone of regret, discussing such a wicked act so casually.

"How can you be so vicious? You almost killed my husband, and yet you dare to come to our door? Who exactly are you, and what do you want?" Wang Jing questioned him, filled with indignation. This person was truly malicious, daring to provoke them after doing such a thing; he was utterly detestable. But she restrained herself, wanting to sound him out and discover his identity.

"No, that person was taller and stronger than you. You're not the same person," Wang Jing said, frowning as she noticed something amiss.

"It was all me; I just changed my skin," the person said, sitting with crossed legs, quite leisurely, and pouring himself a cup of tea to drink.

"What do you mean?" Chu Zhiyuan frowned.

"To possess earth-shattering abilities yet always operate in the shadows truly makes me uncomfortable. Acting this way is like wearing brocade robes at night," he said, shaking his head and sighing.

"Someone like you isn't worthy of talking about earth-shattering abilities! I despise you!" Wang Jing said with disdain.

"Hmph!" The person snorted coldly, clearly displeased. He possessed extraordinary abilities, but outsiders were unaware, and he seemed to have a strong desire to confide in someone.

"To you, I am a god!" he declared, blue light flowing in his eyes.

Then, a hazy blue light emerged from his body, hovering in the room, about the size of a fist.

"Where am I?" The delivery man opened his eyes in confusion.

Whoosh! But quickly, he clamped his mouth shut again, as the blue light returned to the body.

"You..." Wang Jing gasped, greatly startled.

"You're a spiritual entity, capable of possessing other people's bodies?" Chu Zhiyuan asked, very surprised.

"That's right, you guessed correctly. I possess a powerful mental magnetic field and can leave my own body to control others. This is the unique and terrifying ability I gained after consuming an exotic fruit." The man said lazily, sitting there at ease, completely disregarding Wang Jing and Chu Zhiyuan.

"You offended someone you shouldn't have. When I'm called upon, I leave no traces. You'll always have accidents," he said nonchalantly.

"For example, even if your legs were crushed by a car today and you ended up in a wheelchair for life, no one would be able to trace it back. This is because the person I control is deeply hypnotized. After the incident, he would only remember accidentally knocking someone in front of an oncoming car." The man spoke with a smile.

"How can you be so malicious?" Wang Jing asked, feeling both hatred and fear towards the man.

"Malicious? It's too early to say. I came tonight to decide how you should have an accident. Hmm, it could be a gas leak, causing an explosion and fire, leading to severe injuries. Or, one of you could accidentally slip in the bathroom and suffer a broken bone. You choose." He spoke easily, smiling as he presented their options for severe injury.

In the other room, Chu Feng's eyes were icy. He suppressed his aura, listening coldly. This person was truly too malicious; Chu Feng wished he could kill him instantly.

"You're not killing us, just torturing us like this. Aren't you afraid of word getting out?" Wang Jing asked.

"I'll deeply hypnotize you, and you'll forget all of this. Everything will appear to be an accident. Alas, I'm the one doing it, but I have to erase all traces. It's truly uncomfortable, so I can only confide a little before I act." He seemed somewhat dissatisfied. It was clear that his powerful abilities, combined with his need to operate covertly, fueled this desire to confide.

"Who exactly sent you to target us like this?" Chu Zhiyuan asked.

"Alright, I'll satisfy you. Actually, I would have told you anyway; it's my style, though I'd make you forget in the end. It was a woman from Jiangning City who hired me. You absolutely cannot afford to provoke her! Now, choose how you want to be severely injured." He stood up, blue light flashing in his eyes.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you, her main target is your son. He will die!" he added.

A mass of blue light left his body; the spiritual entity floated out, ready to strike.

Boom! Suddenly, a muffled thunderclap seemed to explode in the room. The blue light shrieked miserably, instantly shattering in half. Chu Feng walked in, having used his Ox Demon Roar to attack the spiritual entity.

During the battle at Mount Taihang, over a dozen awakened beings under Mu's command, who had consumed special potions causing violent spiritual fluctuations, were all killed by a single roar from Chu Feng. One can imagine how terrifying the Ox Demon Roar was! Recently, Chu Feng had rapidly evolved, gaining immense strength, making him even more formidable. This attack, selectively aimed at the blue light, was highly effective.

"Ah..." With half of the blue light annihilated, it surged back into the delivery man's body, fleeing in a frenzy.

"Xiao Feng!" Wang Jing cried out, somewhat frightened.

"Mom, Dad, don't worry, I'll be back soon." Chu Feng followed the man out of the house, though he was still quite surprised. The fact that this person could project his spirit out of his body was truly bizarre. Moreover, his spirit was indeed very powerful; under such a terrifying Ox Demon Roar, at such close range, and without the protection of a physical body, it was only shattered by half, demonstrating his immense strength. However, seeing that he needed a physical body to open doors and couldn't pass through walls, Chu Feng felt relieved and wasn't afraid he would escape.

Chu Feng followed unhurriedly, intending to kill the man's true body! It could be expected that a spirit leaving its own body carried certain risks, so the man's true body had to be nearby.

Whoosh! Sure enough, not far from Chu Feng's house, a dim blue light burst out of the delivery man's body and rapidly fled into the distance. Chu Feng sneered, secretly following it, determined to eliminate the man's true body.

Not far away was a park with many trees. The blue light rapidly darted towards it, escaping into the depths of the woods. There, a person sat motionless, and the blue light instantly merged into their head.

Chu Feng's speed was incredibly fast; when pushed to its limits, he could run approximately two hundred and sixty meters per second, which was quite terrifying. So, as soon as the blue light returned to that body, Chu Feng suddenly accelerated and instantly closed in.

Bang! Chu Feng delivered a kick, and the person's body instantly emitted a soft crack as their spine broke, sending them flying. He then landed two more kicks, and the person's legs snapped with a crunch. Chu Feng then stepped on the man's mouth, warning, "Don't yell, or you'll suffer even worse!" Only then did he release his foot. The man groaned, suppressing his voice and not daring to scream. His face was ghostly pale, and sweat instantly drenched his clothes.

"You injured my dad's back and wanted a car to crush his legs? Why don't you experience it yourself first!" Chu Feng stood close, looking down at him.
