Chapter 864: The Number One Forbidden Land in the Underworld

In the cold, silent universe, a deathly stillness prevailed. Even the starry sky was dim, and the starlight seemed suffused with a sense of death, evoking feelings of despair, chill, and bleakness.

Ahead lay a unique place, renowned as the oldest forbidden zone in the Underworld Universe and the most perilous and terrifying cosmic abyss.

No sound was heard there, no sense of time passed, only a chilling darkness. A cosmic abyss stretched out before them, as if severing the universe and separating Yin from Yang.

This place was called the Great Abyss.

Darkness and deathly silence were its eternal themes. Throughout history, countless supreme experts had ventured into it, but none had ever returned, their blood staining the darkness.

Legend had it that billions of years ago, the Dragon Ancestor, the universe's foremost expert, had declined because of the Great Abyss and eventually passed away.

Of course, before his death, he had glimpsed a fragment of the future, discerning the location of the Yang Seed, which he had sought his entire life, and left a message for future generations, pointing directly to Kunlun.

However, at that time, no one knew where the so-called Kunlun was, nor where the Yang Seed resided.

Tens of millions of years ago, the Demonic Ancestor, equally powerful and acclaimed as the universe's mightiest expert, had also entered the Great Abyss and survived, but eventually declined and perished.

Twenty million years ago, deities appeared in the Underworld Universe. However, upon reaching the depths of the Great Abyss, divine blood splattered, and within a single day, the gods collapsed!

The Great Abyss thus became the foremost forbidden zone in the Underworld Universe.

This place was too mysterious. No one knew what lay within this cosmic abyss. All who ventured there had died, even the universe's strongest experts.

In ancient times, Yaoyao's grandfather once passed by this place and unexpectedly obtained the Pirating Breathing Technique nearby.

Although he did not enter the Great Abyss, his fate was still tragic. He eventually went mad, losing his true nature, and remains in a muddled state to this day, having missed the great ancient Earth war.

No one dared approach. Even those who could illuminate the heavens trembled in fear, believing they would surely die if they were to truly delve deep.

Some even speculated that in the depths of this Great Abyss, Celestial Venerables had perished and Dao Masters had vanished, creating a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, where the weakest among them were deities.

Of course, this was merely the conjecture of a few individuals and should not be taken seriously.

The Great Abyss, silent for countless ages, was somewhat unusual today. Still soundless, a faint white light emerged, cool and pure.

Looking closely, it was a woman, ethereal and clad in a snow-white dress, emerging from the Great Abyss. Unfortunately, the darkness there was so profound that even fragments of time were twisting and deforming.

Finally, the woman gradually freed herself from the Great Abyss, emerging from the foremost forbidden zone of the Underworld Universe, silent and still, like a ghost escaping from a swamp.

She was beautiful, with a slender figure, standing tall and graceful like a divine lotus. Even without seeing her face clearly, her figure alone and her tranquil aura bespoke extraordinary grace, as if a female immortal had descended.

Suddenly, she turned towards the direction of the starlight. Her face was revealed, flawless and pure as jade. Her eyes, however, were vacant, though a strange divine glow occasionally flickered deep within them.

If Chu Feng were here, he would be horrified and greatly startled, because this woman resembled someone too closely; they were practically identical.

She looked exactly like Yaoyao!

Her dark hair cascaded like a waterfall, her figure was exquisite, and her face was flawless. Not a single blemish could be found on her.

At this moment, her physical body glowed, crystalline and translucent, whiter and more delicate than mutton-fat jade. Driven by instinct, she was operating an extremely profound and intricate breathing technique, and in an instant, various cosmic energies surged towards her.

Including starlight, which converged from all directions like countless waterfalls, pouring into her body.

Looking closely, her snow-white gown was stained with streaks of crimson blood, which, though long dried, still appeared strikingly tragic and beautiful. Furthermore, the gown bore palm prints, and some areas were torn.

Any ancient expert present would have been greatly astonished. This white gown was once the universe's foremost battle attire, worn by the most beautiful woman.

After quietly completing the breathing technique, her eyes vacant, she slowly descended into the Great Abyss, as if in slow-motion freefall, transforming into a white light, then a white speck, until she finally vanished completely.

From beginning to end, this place remained utterly silent and still. Not a single sound was heard. The Great Abyss was so dark and hollow it was chilling.

At the same time, on Earth, in Kunlun Mountain, Yaoyao, who was in secluded cultivation, suddenly opened her eyes. Divine radiance split the air from her gaze, and vibrant soul light surged. In an instant, her aura skyrocketed, forming an energy vortex that swept across the sky.

Immediately, laws resonated, and chains of order softly hummed, intertwining and manifesting in the void. Her body was also suffused with the fragrant scent of divine medicine and supreme Yang energy.

However, Yaoyao was terrified at this moment. Her spiritual body felt cold, as if it had a physical form, and she experienced a chilling sensation that made her hair stand on end.

Her heart felt heavy, and she felt incredibly suppressed. When was the last time she had felt this way? It was during the ancient Earth era!

Soon after, a great war erupted on Earth as various races launched a combined assault. Blood flowed like rivers, and corpses piled up like mountains. Nearly all the saints on Earth were slaughtered, and pure-blood clans suffered catastrophic casualties, with only a few survivors.

She immediately called out to Young Lady Xi, Yellow Ox, Big Black Ox, Old Donkey, and others.

"Something is wrong," she urged. "You all retreat, travel far and quietly. Protect yourselves with the Demonic Ancestor's Cauldron and temporarily leave Earth. Don't forget to take Chu Feng's parents with you."

This was Yaoyao's warning and reminder, stemming from an instinctive premonition. She felt something significant was about to happen!

After speaking these words, she alone ascended the celestial vine on Kunlun Mountain and entered secluded cultivation quietly. Alone, in the quietest state, she sought to comprehend the universe, question herself, and let her subconscious soul resonate.

Finally, Yaoyao took out a glistening particle of Immortality Gold. Since ancient times, a wisp of her obsession had resided within it, nurturing an aura of immortality.

Until today, her soul light had recovered and grown stronger.

However, she still harbored some unresolved issues. In the final ancient battle, she had slain her peers to such an extent that none dared to raise their heads. Even if the greatest talents from across the universe joined forces, she swept them all aside; their numbers were simply not an issue. She looked down on everyone.

Yet, she was ultimately killed by a Heaven-Illuminating level expert. Only a wisp of her obsession managed to escape. What about her physical body?

Even if her flesh and blood had exploded and her body disintegrated, something should have been left behind, because her father had left her a supreme treasure capable of withstanding several ultimate attacks from Heaven-Illuminating level experts.

However, she ultimately found nothing.

"A wisp of obsession, and the Immortality Gold," she mused. "I want to uncover the secret of my own existence. I feel my soul light trembling, resonating. What exactly is happening today?" Yaoyao asked herself.

Then, holding the Immortality Gold, she closed her eyes, sensed carefully, and questioned her inner self.

The next moment, the imprints of yesteryear and the call of this life made her body tremble. She saw an endlessly dark place, a cosmic abyss, where a faint white light flickered, possessing a fatal attraction for her.

"In ancient times, my memories ended abruptly here!" Then, Yaoyao rose. Her soul light was still throbbing. For some unknown reason, she felt uneasy today.

"The Immortality Gold guides my path forward!" Yaoyao whispered, questioning her inner self once more.

Then, holding the Immortality Gold, she left Earth. She ventured directly into the cosmos, even repeatedly opening wormholes, following an intuition towards a certain ancient cosmic land!

Meanwhile, outside the Underworld Universe, in the ruined cosmos within the primordial chaos, near the closest zone to the Yang Realm, chaos surged. Countless small worlds and spaces were densely packed, drifting like isolated islands within the chaos.

On this day, terrifying sounds emanated from the deepest part of the chaos. An ancient path, sealed for billions of years, was being cleared and forcibly opened, transforming once more into a small pathway.

Crack!

It could be seen that near that small path, the chaos surged violently, and various bolts of lightning constantly struck, immensely terrifying. Their power was so immense that even Heaven-Illuminating level experts, if struck, would instantly turn to ashes, their forms and spirits obliterated.

These were Primordial Chaos Divine Thunderbolts. Even deities, if struck, would die, leaving behind only black ashes.

Even stronger evolvers, stepping onto this path and standing amidst the lightning, would be blasted to death by the thunderbolts within the chaos, without doubt.

Looking closely, there was some grass around the small pathway. This was astonishing. To see plants in the midst of chaos signified terrifying mutated species.

One could imagine how terrifying and overwhelmingly powerful the evolvers were who could clear this ancient path!

Finally, they were close. They were about to completely escape the chaos and step out onto that path, soon appearing in the ruined cosmos, following one spatial isolated island after another.

"Celestial Venerable, we actually succeeded!" someone exclaimed in delighted exhilaration.

"Celestial Venerable's power is boundless, truly terrifying!" another chimed in. "To actually pierce through the chaos and open a small path from the Yang Realm to the Underworld Universe, your divine accomplishment is unmatched!"

The speakers were several young people, each immensely powerful. Faint symbols of order flickered and covered their bodies. Such strength was exceedingly extraordinary and formidable!

"I can only escort you this far," said an old Daoist. "Return to the Yang Realm at the appointed time. This path will close and cannot remain open for long."

An old Daoist, mere skin and bones, spoke. Yet his shriveled old skin was golden, extremely bizarre and terrifying. As he spoke, the chaos exploded, and various laws and orders were annihilated. The ground where he stood became a pure land, indestructible through myriad kalpas, his true body eternal—truly terrifying.

"Celestial Venerable, are you not coming to the Underworld with us?" a young person asked in surprise. They had always assumed this Celestial Venerable would traverse the Sea of Chaos and descend into the Underworld.

"The Underworld is strange," the old Daoist warned sternly, "and it's not suitable for me to stay long. You too must be careful, do not be careless, and return quickly."

"Ah, I heard that a great potentate was bringing disciples here to reside for a long time and search for the legendary ancient seed," another young person remarked. "Why are you leaving so soon after arriving?"

In their view, this Celestial Venerable possessed boundless magic power. Wherever he stood became a heavenly realm. As a great potentate, omnipotent, why would he still care about this cold, gloomy universe?

"This side is divided into several universes, all belonging to the Underworld or Netherworld," the old Daoist solemnly instructed. "Some areas are exceedingly bizarre. Someone once saw the corpses of several Celestial Venerables in a dark cosmic canyon, a truly tragic sight. Therefore, you must not underestimate it!"

Then, he turned. With a single step, primordial chaos divine thunder exploded, spatial laws were annihilated, and symbols of order shattered. He vanished in that single step, clearly wary of the Underworld, returning to the Yang Realm at the fastest possible speed.

"Underworld, we have arrived! Tremble!" one of the remaining individuals declared, his voice indifferent, no longer as cautious as when facing the Celestial Venerable, but utterly self-assured and supremely arrogant.
