Chapter 645: Faith Old Black Gains Eternal Life

It seemed the black energy tower considered his style to be like a locust plague, stripping everything bare, scraping the earth clean... in short, he was blacklisted!

Chu Feng looked embarrassed, then became indignant.

"Isn't this an opportunity left for us? Why are you guarding against me?"

The black energy tower solemnly replied, "I've never seen an evolver like you. You even dig up the soil. Are you planning to carry away Mount Kunlun?"

Chu Feng: "..."

He thought, *wasn't it just a bit of digging?* More importantly, he had wanted that divine tree, but it had escaped!

Then, Chu Feng was lectured.

The black energy tower earnestly instructed him that while the fruits of Kunlun's immortal medicines could be harvested, over-exploitation was not allowed, nor were his bandit-like actions tolerated.

It was almost as if it had labeled Chu Feng as someone who would strip everything bare.

"I just genuinely wanted to dig up some soil, nothing else," Chu Feng said, yet he shrewdly looked around, adding, "If I can't carry Kunlun away, surely I can pull out a few radishes?"

Then, he acted decisively, swiftly pulling out a dozen arm-thick golden ginseng roots from crevices in nearby rocks and under cliffs, complete with soil. His movements were quick and skilled, and he stuffed them all into his spatial bracelet.

The energy tower, rigid and stern, warned him to leave immediately!

Chu Feng felt that the black energy tower was even darker than before, like a person with a long, dark face, glaring at him unpleasantly, full of vigilance, as if guarding against a thief.

"Honestly, you're not very hospitable. No one's visited you in years. I might be your only relative, shouldn't you treat me better? Quickly, bring out all the divine treasures buried in Kunlun and let me pick seven, eight, or even a dozen at random. You don't need them anyway, do you?"

Chu Feng stuck around, pestering the legacy tower.

Of course, he emphasized that a legacy tower should be dutiful and responsible, passing on everything to him.

"Everything you desired, you have already received," the black energy tower's mechanical voice stated, then it expelled him, saying, "Now, immediately, begone!"

"Old Black, what are you doing? I saw you were lonely and wanted to chat. My fervent heart has been chilled by your indifference," Chu Feng whined, lingering and reluctant to leave. Besides the large radishes, he also wanted to dig up some purple-gold cabbage-like spirit ganoderma mushrooms and, moreover, excavate that terrifying walnut tree.

"Alarm, alarm, Taotie race invasion..." The black energy tower sounded an alarm. Various symbols on the surrounding ground shone simultaneously, and the remote God-Slaying Landform was about to revive.

Chu Feng, crestfallen, fled immediately, forcibly expelled.

He left the center of the Pure Land and returned near Luohuang Slope, sitting on the green bamboo boat, guarding the Heavenly Ladder, waiting for a chance to escape the perilous area.

Suddenly, Chu Feng heard someone screaming on the other side of the Heavenly Ladder, terrified and trembling. It was surprisingly the same few people who had fled earlier, stumbling back.

They were disheveled, their faces ashen, and covered in blood, looking utterly miserable.

They shrieked desperately, having lost their shoes, like stray dogs, extremely frightened.

Chu Feng was startled to see a red whirlwind sweep past, lashing against those people, cutting them like knives and making them bleed profusely.

The wind was composed of bloody human heads, swirling and forming a terrifying red whirlwind, as if a peerless demon had been unleashed, with blood surging sky-high.

Each head was hideous, snarling, bleeding from its orifices, and covered in lividity and long hair. Such things, combined with blood to form a whirlwind, were truly chilling.

The result was that these people, with no way to ascend to heaven or descend to earth, all fled back up the Heavenly Ladder, utterly terrified.

"It's over, we're doomed!" a field master from the God Race stammered after fleeing back. "This area is immensely strange. The effect Luohuang Slope exerted on us hasn't disappeared. It's not letting us go, forcing us back."

Fortunately, after they returned, the bloody head whirlwind vanished and did not reappear.

Chu Feng felt a chill and his heart pounded. He recalled the record on the moon, which stated that although Luohuang Slope left a sliver of hope, those who escaped it never seemed to find a good end, dying strangely in the end.

For a moment, silence fell.

Even Chu Feng began to overthink things. Luohuang Slope could make even a true phoenix fall, preventing escape. This place seemed intent on annihilating everyone, wiping them all out!

Unfortunately, the ancient texts on the moon contained little information about Luohuang Slope. It was a rare and bewildering landform.

He had initially thought there would be a way to escape, but now it seemed this place was too sinister and might utterly destroy everyone nearby.

"Old Black, I'm different from them. Can I leave safely?" Chu Feng secretly transmitted a message into the Pure Land, trying to curry favor with the black energy tower.

However, he received no response; the black energy tower ignored him.

"What do we do? Are we all going to die here?" The returned escapees looked bitter, each dejected, no longer in the mood to gather immortal medicine.

After an unknown period, a voice came from the other side of the Heavenly Ladder: "Luo Zhicheng, you broke through. How are things?"

Another group from the God Race arrived, only five people. The leader carried a bone mirror and said, "The elders in our clan were worried, so they sent us with a fragment of the Yin-Yang Mirror, which can reveal those hidden in the void."

"Things aren't great," someone on this side of the Heavenly Ladder replied, not telling the whole truth, their eyes flickering, wanting to band together for safety.

The people on the other side didn't pay much attention and were about to set off, climbing the Heavenly Ladder.

Someone, still with a sense of camaraderie—though also considering their own safety—said, "Don't come over! Quickly go and call for help to rescue us! This is Luohuang Slope, and it harbors a great terror!"

Those on the other side froze, feeling a deep chill.

"Run, it's back!" someone in the Pure Land warned, as they spotted the red whirlwind, with heads rolling, ferocious and malevolent.

However, the people on the other side saw nothing, looking bewildered. Yet, they felt a chill, their hair standing on end.

"Yin-Yang Mirror, illuminate the illusions of yin and yang!" The person holding the bone mirror suddenly roared, activating the precious mirror in their hand. Then, they too saw the red whirlwind of human heads.

Furthermore, at that very moment, one of them disintegrated instantly, turning into bloody mud and shattered bones, dying tragically on the spot.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

The remaining four had no choice but to leap onto the Heavenly Ladder and flee for their lives.

In the most dangerous moments, people act purely on instinct. The people on the other side were alive, and a great terror lurked behind them, compelling them to embark on this path involuntarily.

Chu Feng knew it was time to fight for his life. The people opposite held the fragmented Yin-Yang Mirror, specifically intended to deal with him, and he could no longer hide his presence.

Following the principle of striking first to avoid suffering later, he decisively clutched the Reincarnation Blade, hid behind a large boulder, and prepared to kill.

This area became increasingly perilous. As soon as those people set off and ran towards this side of the bank, some were afflicted, becoming skin and bones on the way, their life force drained, and they fell onto Luohuang Slope.

In the end, only the leader managed to rush over alive, clutching the fragmented Yin-Yang Mirror. He frantically shone it behind him, fearing something might have attached itself to him.

His face was pale as he said, "I came here to deliver the Yin-Yang Mirror to you, to get rid of that devil Chu Feng, but I didn't expect to get trapped here too."

Just then, Chu Feng struck, erupting in an attack. A crimson blade light flashed, splitting him in two and killing him instantly!

Chu Feng snatched the fragmented bone mirror into his hand, seizing it, then vanished in a flash.

"Who's there?!"

"It's... Chu Feng! The Yin-Yang Mirror just swept over him; I saw it was him!"

The remaining few all jumped up, horrified. An arch-enemy had been hiding among them; it was unimaginable, as they hadn't known it earlier.

"Puff!"

Next, one of the field masters was cut in half at the waist, dying instantly. The Reincarnation Blade dissolved both his body and spirit, utterly obliterating him.

"Stand together, combine forces to eliminate him!"

Someone shouted loudly!

However, field symbols on the ground flickered. In this terrain, everything was related to field arts, and Chu Feng directly employed field techniques, preventing them from approaching.

In the end, none of these people were left; all were killed.

Chu Feng was merciless, showing no leniency toward the God Race and Underworld Race members, eliminating all these enemies.

Then, he turned and left, feeling he couldn't delay any longer. Even if he encountered more strangeness, he had to try to leave. He realized that the longer he stayed, the more unpredictable this place became.

Finally, Chu Feng, holding the stone box in one hand and the Reincarnation Blade in the other, charged onto the Heavenly Ladder and desperately fled along the original path!

"Trust Old Black for eternal life, Old Black Tower, you must protect me!" Chu Feng shouted.

He figured that since the black legacy tower had given him an opportunity, it wouldn't offer no protection at all. It should ensure his safety on the journey.

However, the next moment he began to curse. Goosebumps rose on his skin; he knew he had been mistaken. The legacy tower simply didn't care what happened in the outside world.

At that moment, he felt an inexplicable cold aura sweeping over Luohuang Slope, threatening to devour his vital energy and spirit. The sensation was terrifying.

"Whoosh!"

He immediately turned and swung his blade outwards, feeling as if he had collided with some sinister wind. Faint, eerie laughter drifted to him, seeming like a hallucination, yet also real.

Chu Feng activated the Dao-Pilfering Breathing Technique. In an instant, his Yang energy surged powerfully, making his entire body glow like a small sun, illuminating the area.

"Hmm?!"

He was deeply surprised. Legend had it that this breathing technique from the Yang realm was very effective here, dispelling the cold.

At the same time, he decisively opened the stone box, revealing the vibrant Reincarnation Flames, and called out, "Folks of Luohuang Slope, we're from the same place! No need to drag me down. I just returned from the Path of Reincarnation!"

Seizing the opportunity, Chu Feng turned and ran.

But then, cold breaths appeared behind his back. Something was trying to cling directly to him, seemingly wanting him to carry it—it was like the legendary evil spirit possession.

Chu Feng ran even faster. Logically, this distance should have ended by now, but on Luohuang Slope, it wasn't the case at all. He found that the Heavenly Ladder seemed to have suddenly become incredibly long.

Next, he felt his ankles seized by a pair of icy hands, dangling below him, moving along with him.

The Heavenly Ladder, perched on Luohuang Slope like a bridge, had misty white fog below. The moment Chu Feng looked down, he vaguely saw a ghastly pale face with no mouth or nose, its surface flat, only a pair of sinister eyes staring up at him.

Chu Feng raised his blade to chop, but the long knife sliced through what felt like air. The face vanished, yet Chu Feng still felt a pair of cold hands grasping his ankles.

Left with no choice, he flicked out a bit of Reincarnation Fire, finally breaking free. His ankles were released, and he bolted into a frantic sprint.

Boom!

However, just as he was about to escape to the other side, the Heavenly Ladder was violently overturned by a powerful force. Chu Feng let out a yell, his face extremely pale, devoid of color.

Below, white fog surged, forming a terrifying vortex filled with ancient strands of hair and broken, hook-like long fingernails, creating a chilling sight. He was about to fall into it.

What on earth was this place? Even Chu Feng felt horrified.

He struggled fiercely, hacking wildly with the Reincarnation Blade!

Still, he was severely injured. Dry strands of hair pierced through his legs, and those hook-like fingernails tore at his flesh, threatening to drain his life force.

"Get lost, all of you!"

Chu Feng roared, wildly swinging his blade, but it had little effect on these things because there were too many. The nails and hair were so densely packed, it could trigger trypophobia.

At the critical moment, he could only use the Reincarnation Fire to drive them away again. Amidst a putrid smell, he instantly broke free and scrambled onto the bank. He then saw himself covered in blood, having forced out many strands of hair and fingernails from his legs, which made him feel both creepy and nauseated.

Before he could catch his breath, a red whirlwind arrived, composed entirely of bloody, snarling human heads with hideous faces, threatening to engulf him.

Chu Feng let out a strange yell, leaped onto the green bamboo boat, and immediately fled through the air.

Boom!

He felt the magical boat sink, and looking back, he saw it was packed with human heads, pressing it down. These things could even pursue him into the void.

Chu Feng's face turned green. The divine boat was stained with blood, and the heads rolled and surged toward him.

He leaped off with great force, then overturned the green bamboo boat, dumping all the human heads. He immediately put away the boat and fled on foot.

Finally, he managed to escape this dimensional space in one breath, reaching the outer dimensional layer. When he looked back, the red whirlwind of human heads did not seem to have pursued him.

He let out a long sigh of relief.

Just then, he happened to see three people in the area: Ying Wudi, Ying Xiaoxiao, and Ying Zhexian, the three siblings from the Demigod Race.

In that brief moment just now, Chu Feng felt as if he had lived another lifetime, having narrowly escaped death on Luohuang Slope.

Now, not to mention seeing these three, he would be overjoyed even if he found members of the God Race or Xilin Race, as they were living people, not eerie unknowns.

However, Ying Wudi approached him with an unfriendly expression.

"Brother Ying, don't misunderstand, I bear no ill will towards you. In fact, I've always wanted to befriend you; I've long admired you."

Having just survived a tribulation, Chu Feng was overflowing with enthusiasm, opening his arms as if to give a warm embrace.

Ying Wudi looked as if he had seen a ghost. *What kind of person was this?* A grown man coming up for hugs—how undignified!

Beside him, the peerlessly beautiful Ying Zhexian dodged away as if avoiding a ghost, her eyes strange, thinking this person was too presumptuous.

Chu Feng looked sheepish and quite awkward.

Only Ying Xiaoxiao remained, blinking her large eyes with great curiosity. The silver-haired loli then suddenly darted forward and spontaneously pounced on him, clinging to him like a koala bear.

This greatly startled Ying Wudi and Ying Zhexian, making them extremely wary.

The silver-haired loli decisively and swiftly pulled off Chu Feng's bronze mask, stared with wide eyes, and then let out a strange cry: "Oh my!"
