Chapter 613: Chu Feng and His Son

Inside the stone chamber, the ferocious beast head, covered in green fur as hard as steel needles, wore a look of terror. In the corner, the field expert was similarly terrified, his face frozen in extreme fear even in death, having apparently been scared to death.

Chu Feng circled them, observing meticulously. He pondered, realizing that these two were powerful beings who couldn't have genuinely died of fright. It seemed there was something profoundly terrifying and exceptionally strange on the path ahead.

Finally, he stood before the brown stone wall, staring at the massive boulder. Should he move it? He desperately wanted to return; staying here for too long made him anxious.

After the Battle of Kunlun, everyone believed he was dead. He could only imagine the grief of his family and friends. He yearned to return and tell them he was still alive.

He was also deeply concerned for their safety, fearing they might be discovered by outsiders. The mere thought of such a scenario sent shivers down his spine.

Finally, Chu Feng moved the boulder. Instantly, a vast, pitch-black hole appeared, utterly silent and remarkably still.

The field expert had hastily blocked this path, yet he had ultimately perished.

It was unnervingly quiet. Was this the site of the ancient tragedy? Inside, it was pitch-black and utterly silent, showing no immediate signs of danger.

Nevertheless, Chu Feng maintained a solemn expression, holding the Vajra Restraint as he stepped inside, fully prepared for anything.

He dared to enter, not only because he was desperate to return home, but primarily because he possessed the stone box. He had discovered that in this land of reincarnation, once a mountain-and-river map appeared on one side of the box, it could suppress souls and effectively subdue eerie phenomena. For instance, it allowed him to navigate the massive millstone, reach the end of the reincarnation path, and even stealthily return.

Otherwise, Chu Feng would never have acted so rashly. He had to be responsible for his own life; if he died, what would become of his father and loved ones?

The black hole was eerily silent. Was this indeed the place where the strange and terrifying events of yesteryear transpired?

Chu Feng stepped inside, merging with the darkness. At that instant, his body subtly stiffened. A chilling draft blew from behind, and then his neck felt cold, as if someone were breathing on it.

Immediately, goosebumps erupted all over him, and a tingling sensation, as if from an electric shock, spread from head to toe. Yet, he reacted with lightning speed, spinning around abruptly and striking with the Vajra Restraint.

He moved, stirring up a fierce gust of wind, but there was nothing behind him. Silence reigned, as if nothing had occurred, and the chilling draft had vanished.

Chu Feng's scalp prickled. How many years had passed? Based on the inscriptions on the stone wall, Chu Feng had estimated at least tens of thousands of years. Yet, the eerie presence in the stone cave persisted?

He had believed that time could erase all things. Now, it appeared some phenomena could endure, untouched even by the passage of ages.

"Come on!"

Chu Feng shouted defiantly. He put away the Vajra Restraint, taking out the stone box, while holding a black talisman paper in his other hand. He then stepped forward once more.

The cave was silent, and even darker than the path he had just taken, filled with a deathly stillness that involuntarily evoked negative emotions. This was no place for the living.

All along the way, Chu Feng kept his body tense, prepared to wield the black talisman paper and the stone box at any moment to ward off evil.

After walking several hundred meters, the black hole grew even colder. This tunnel was exceedingly long. Suddenly, a breath grazed Chu Feng's neck once more, instantly making his hair stand on end.

"Damn it!" he couldn't help but exclaim. It was too unnerving. If this thing were to attack him, his head might very well drop to the ground, he thought.

A breath right on his neck was utterly terrifying. In a silent, eerie underground passage that had been dark for tens of thousands of years, such an experience was bound to make anyone's skin crawl.

Chu Feng did not stop. He reasoned that if the entity could sever his head, it wouldn't have waited this long; perhaps the stone box on his person was playing a crucial protective role.

He hastened his pace, determined to pass through this path in a single push and burst into Earth.

Suddenly, his scalp tingled as he felt a cold hand touch it, its chilling coldness seeping through his hair.

"What the..." Chu Feng cried out, finding the experience utterly dreadful.

Then, the moment he opened his mouth, he felt a cold breath directed at him.

Upon sensing this, Chu Feng reacted by blowing back fiercely.

"Ugh!"

The chilling draft vanished from the opposite side, leaving him thoroughly chilled and his entire body slightly stiff. Chu Feng was flummoxed; he had never imagined he would genuinely encounter such bizarre events after stepping onto this path.

"Do you think I'm easily scared? When I was four, I was already undefeated among my peers; all the little brats in kindergarten called me 'Big Brother.' The elders themselves had to personally intervene and go to my mother to finally subdue me! Who are you? If you've got guts, come out! Brother Feng here will have a chat with you today. Stop just blowing cold air; if you've got guts, step out!"

In the darkness, no one responded to him. A deathly silence pervaded the area, and the path stretched far ahead.

Chu Feng gritted his teeth and pressed on. His grip on the stone box was so tight that his hand had turned slightly pale, indicating his entire body was taut with tension.

Suddenly, a strong, chilling gust of wind swept by, ruffling Chu Feng's hair. From the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of something to his side. He quickly turned, faintly seeing a wisp of intensely chilling hair, detached from any body, before it instantly disappeared.

"I don't care what you are!"

Chu Feng broke into a full sprint, dashing forward while wildly waving the black talisman paper. He then felt himself enter an even more sinister place, as if he had stepped into the Hall of Yama itself.

He paused briefly to examine his surroundings with his Fiery Golden Eyes. It was a mine pit, and he was merely passing through. One side was as dark as a hellish abyss, utterly impossible to discern.

This discovery horrified Chu Feng: it was the main area of the mine pit, impenetrable even to his Fiery Golden Eyes.

At this moment, his skin felt like it was tearing. This was like a vast burial ground, with countless beings interred within the pit. An overwhelming, dense surge of chilling energy assailed him, making his heart pound and his spirit tremble involuntarily.

"Forget it!"

Chu Feng no longer looked in that direction. Instead, he used a section of the mine path to rush forward, knowing the exit was not far, just ahead.

"Ouch!"

Chu Feng let out an odd cry as he tumbled away, for just a flash earlier, something had abruptly appeared and tripped him.

However, with a backward somersault, he regained his balance and came to a stop ahead.

At that moment, he looked into the distance. The end of the black hole path seemed to shimmer with light, meaning he was nearing the end, and the exit was there.

"Hiss!"

Suddenly, he heard a gasp behind him, followed by a cold hand covering his neck.

"Damn it!" Chu Feng instantly flared up, quickly dodging while attempting to block with both the stone box and the black talisman paper.

This time, however, he had a terrible feeling. Something clung to his back, impossible to shake off; it felt like a chilling aura, yet also like a person as light as air.

Chu Feng increasingly felt his body growing heavy and somewhat stiff. A continuous breath warmed his neck, and cold hands occasionally shifted there.

"Damn it!"

He panicked. Could it be that even the stone box and black talisman paper couldn't suppress this entity? How utterly bizarre was this? It was truly defying the heavens!

Eventually, he remained unable to shake it off. Chu Feng finally steadied himself and ceased struggling. Since the entity hadn't made a lethal move, he wasn't in a rush to resolve this major predicament immediately.

Chu Feng retrieved a precious mirror, which he had seized from a divine son. He then used it to look behind him. This was no ordinary mystical artifact; it could reflect spiritual bodies and similar entities.

Then, Chu Feng's hair stood on end. A chill spread through his entire body, leaving him numb from head to toe, utterly horrified.

In the mirror, a black shadow clung to his back, motionless, like a figure with dishevelled hair, pressed against him.

Suddenly, the black shadow's hair floated, and it exhaled a chilling breath. The precious mirror in Chu Feng's hand instantly cracked and was destroyed, with blood oozing from the shattered fragments, a truly unsettling sight.

Chu Feng was horrified. This was utterly terrifying and terrible. He was carrying something on his back; perhaps with the stone box in hand, the strange entity couldn't harm him. But if he were to escape with it, who knew when something unforeseen might occur? After all, he couldn't keep the stone box in his hand indefinitely; what if it fell, or he accidentally put it down?

"No, I must resolve this great danger!"

Chu Feng gritted his teeth and began to run back. He refused to carry that bizarre entity into Earth; if it couldn't harm him but instead targeted those close to him, he would live with eternal regret.

Chu Feng ran frantically all the way back to the stone chamber, but he still felt something on him, even though it was very light. He also felt as if his neck were being embraced.

"Damn you, unless you're a celestial immortal, I'm not done with you!"

Chu Feng was utterly repulsed and increasingly unnerved. He paused briefly before the field expert's corpse in the stone chamber, taking one last look at his inscription.

Then, Chu Feng left. After bursting out of the spatial rift, he headed straight for the City of the Dead, making directly for the luminous area. He absolutely refused to exit while carrying that unknown entity. He intended to enter the City of the Dead and be ground within the millstone, resolving that whether it was a demon lord or an immortal, it would be crushed first.

With a whoosh, Chu Feng leaped onto the City of the Dead, rushing all the way until he finally arrived there once more.

At that moment, some areas of the city still contained Reincarnation Fire. As Chu Feng approached, he distinctly felt his body lighten, and the strange entity vanished.

"Afraid of the Reincarnation Fire?"

Nevertheless, Chu Feng dared not be careless and continued to sprint. This time, he acted proactively and decisively, throwing himself into the fray. He rushed onto the millstone, then leaped into the pile of corpses, grinding himself.

Even though he felt the entity had departed, he remained uneasy and decided to go through one grinding cycle just to be safe.

"That thing is too powerful! It dared to follow me into the City of the Dead. What in the world is it?!" Chu Feng's hair stood on end.

He looked down at himself and discovered numerous marks on his body, including small child's palm prints, women's scratch marks, and various others.

"When were these left?" he wondered, bewildered.

His body was densely covered with black marks, but a single wipe of his hand removed them all.

"My God!" Chu Feng exclaimed. He had no idea how many times he had been attacked, completely unaware. Clearly, the stone box had played its part, deterring all evil.

However, it ultimately provoked a formidable entity that latched onto him, yet proved unable to deliver a fatal blow.

Chu Feng clutched the stone box tightly. Soon after, with a splash, he fell into the pool of blood and mud, where he was ground for a full cycle, the other corpses reduced to fleshy pulp and blood.

This time, he had no inclination to explore the reincarnation path; instead, he simply retraced his steps.

"Damn you! I didn't bring you here to be ground, nor did I send you to reincarnation. I've been more than benevolent; don't bother me again!"

After emerging from the millstone, Chu Feng wandered the city, attempting to collect the Reincarnation Flames. However, he discovered that no secret treasure could contain them; anything that tried would be incinerated into dust.

The six-colored fire was truly terrifying!

Finally, Chu Feng took out the three seeds and successfully collected them with the stone box. A cluster of vibrant, pulsating flames, which never extinguished, now resided within.

"I need to calm myself; there's no rush to proceed!"

Next, Chu Feng went outside the city, where he stayed for two days, adjusting his condition. The strange entity did not reappear, which gave him a degree of confidence.

Following that, he cultivated there for a full five days without leaving, bringing himself to his peak state by frantically absorbing the fist imprints, sword intent, and other energies present.

"It's time to go. If that path is clear, I can always return here to cultivate; this is a rare and invaluable training ground!"

Next, Chu Feng embarked on that path once more.

This time, the pitch-black stone chamber felt even more sinister. Along the path ahead, something occasionally breathed on him, which remained unnerving.

However, he held the stone box, within which the six-colored Reincarnation Fire pulsed, and nothing managed to latch onto him.

Finally, Chu Feng saw light as he neared the exit. He let out a long breath of relief; he had succeeded, navigating this strange path and was now on the verge of entering Earth, returning home.

"Ah, I can finally calm my nerves," Chu Feng sighed, letting out a long breath.

However, in the very next moment, cold lips appeared beside his ear and let out a faint sigh.

"Am I a jinx?!" Chu Feng nearly jumped. After all, a group of powerful beings had perished here; this entity was undoubtedly terrifying to the extreme.

Meanwhile, in the starry sky, someone else was also gripped by fear.

A young Taoist was locked in a fierce battle with the universe's most renowned goddess.

It was a battle between mother and son.

"This Taoist priest is truly pathetic. Even just trying to survive until the day of my birth requires such desperate, heartbreaking effort, fighting with all my might. The most crucial part is that I'm battling my mother in this life. Unbounded Heavenly Venerable, damn you!"

The young Taoist gazed speechlessly at the sky, feeling that any more words would only bring tears. He genuinely wanted to burst out of the womb and find someone to reason with properly; this was no way to bully a person!

Ever since he embarked on the path of reincarnation, he had been plagued by misfortune, feeling utterly unloved and neglected. Now, even his own birth mother, whom he had never met, sought to destroy him!

"This Taoist priest truly... I don't want to live anymore!" The young Taoist was utterly indignant. He desperately wanted to ask this mother what profound grudge she held that compelled her to destroy him.

He suspected his young mother might have some physical issue, making her unsuitable for childbirth, otherwise, why would she constantly try to refine him to death?

Yet, when he summoned the special mist he had brought from the Reincarnation Cave, he could clearly feel that this "mother" was very young, her entire being suffused with an extraordinarily sacred radiance—a manifestation of a transcendent physique. Her human potential was vast, with astonishing primordial energy dormant within, clearly indicating the possibility of her becoming a peerless overlord of an era.

With such an exceptional physique, why was this still happening?

This had been going on for many consecutive days, and the young Taoist was on the verge of a breakdown. His mother was relentless, her will too firm, clearly determined to eliminate him.

At this moment, he completely broke down in tears.

"Damn it, who's going to save me?!" he cried. "Father, my dad in this life, I miss you! Where are you? I desperately need you; please come and save me!"

The Taoist couldn't bear it any longer, wailing from within the womb, desperate for help.

However, if he knew who his father was, and who had snatched his black talisman paper, he certainly wouldn't be calling him "Dad." He'd probably be so furious that he'd be spitting fire from all seven orifices.

In the purgatory dimension, on that eerie path.

In the darkness, Chu Feng shivered and muttered, "Who's talking about me? Does someone miss me?"

At last, he emerged from that terrifying area. After that faint sigh, nothing else appeared.

He neared the exit, reaching the luminous spot, poised to enter Earth.

"I'm finally back alive, everyone! We'll meet again!"

Both father and son were greatly frightened.
