Chapter 426: Mother Star Direct Pureblood Descendant

Craters are ubiquitous on the moon. Chu Feng entered the ruins with a solemn expression, feeling a sense of dread.

This was no peaceful place. In fact, this journey was unlikely to be smooth. Dangers lurked everywhere, and he had no idea what lay ahead.

The ruins were vast. Once, there had been grand palaces and magnificent towers, but now they were just piles of rubble and broken walls, bearing witness to past sorrows. Did the moon really have palaces in ancient times, like the Guanghan Palace? Were they home to highly evolved beings?

As he delved deeper, the building materials became more astonishing. Huge jade blocks were everywhere, and there were even metal tiles that still retained a faint luster.

Soon, Chu Feng spotted a large, sturdy tree in the distance. Its ancient bark was cracked, resembling dragon scales, and its entire trunk was dry and lifeless. Legends say the moon is home to the Guanghan Palace, Chang'e, the Jade Rabbit, and a cassia tree. Though moved, Chu Feng wasn't surprised. After seeing actual palaces, a large tree was hardly unusual.

"Is that the cassia tree?" Chu Feng considered approaching it to collect some branches, thinking they might be useful for alchemy. Even if it had been dead for many years and its divinity had completely faded, it was still once a divine tree!

He was still some distance from the tree.

"Hm?!" A strong sense of unease gripped Chu Feng in this area. He felt an oppressive, malevolent aura that seemed to tear at the very fabric of existence, causing his blood to surge and his body to feel as if it would disintegrate. Just moments ago, it had been peaceful and utterly silent. How could it become so terrifying near this zone?

Here stood copper palaces and towers. Even in their broken state, they were taller and more imposing than structures in other areas, exuding a chilling presence amidst their ancient dilapidation. As Chu Feng skirted around these copper structures, the strange malevolent aura intensified, becoming even more terrifying, as if it could tear his flesh apart.

Continuing forward, he gradually approached the cassia tree, which stood an impressive five hundred *zhang* tall. At that moment, he finally saw what else was there—the source of the malevolent aura!

Chu Feng was utterly shocked, barely believing his eyes. His eyelids twitched, goosebumps rose all over his body, and a chill ran down his spine. His throat went dry, and a fiery sensation rose within him, yet a chilling aura emanated from his spine—all due to the sight before him.

Not far from the cassia tree stood numerous colossal stone pillars, thrusting skyward. They resembled massive, sharp iron spikes. A white tiger, enormous beyond belief, like a mountain itself, nearly as tall as the cassia tree, lay covered in blood, impaled by many stone pillars! All the pillars were tall and sharp, piercing through the mountain-sized white tiger, protruding into the air and dripping scarlet blood.

A tiger this massive, and white at that—what level of being was it?! Instead of the Jade Rabbit, he had found a terrifying giant tiger on the moon, a sight that made his heart tremble. The tiger's blood had not dried; it was still vivid scarlet, emitting a radiant glow like intertwined red lightning, filled with potent energy. The malevolent aura emanated from this tiger, as if it could shatter heaven and earth, making the very void tremble. It was hard to imagine its power!

Most critically, Chu Feng clearly sensed that the white fierce tiger, along with the sharp stone pillars, was enveloped by a mysterious energy field. He could even see clear field symbols appearing intermittently, indicating earth-shattering field rules that suppressed the white tiger's aura and prevented its vital energy from leaking out. For such a malevolent aura to escape even a world-class field, it was deeply unsettling, making him feel as if his flesh would be torn apart.

What an terrifying beast! Chu Feng suspected that without the special field enveloping the tiger, ordinary evolvers coming here would simply disintegrate under its aura, their bodies and spirits utterly destroyed. This was horrifying; the creature was unimaginably powerful!

Chu Feng circled the mountain-sized fierce tiger, staying outside the energy field, sensing the creature's immense power. Its blood was still vibrant and crystalline, radiating divine light and containing unparalleled energy.

"How is this possible?!" Chu Feng was suddenly startled. He saw faint wisps of mist around the white tiger's mouth and nose, indicating weak breaths. It wasn't completely dead! This sent shivers down his spine. After so many years—this mysterious fierce tiger, at least from ancient times, impaled by forty-nine massive, sharp stone pillars—it was still alive?!

Chu Feng was greatly alarmed. A blood-soaked tiger, still alive, impaled in a lunar crater! His mind was filled with doubt. Who had impaled this fierce tiger here? To which faction did it belong—was it good or evil? He had no idea.

Ultimately, Chu Feng broke off some dry branches from the cassia tree and collected them, but he dared not break through the energy field to try and obtain the fierce tiger's blood. He lingered there for a long time before setting off again, heading deeper into the ruins.

Along the way, he saw many bas-reliefs depicting past events: racial wars, bloody migrations across the stars, countless men, women, and children perishing repeatedly—scene after scene of old tragedies, a mournful epic.

"Earth was once ranked eleventh, achieving ultimate glory, after which a great war broke out, leading to its eternal decline. This was the war of those years!" Chu Feng was deeply moved, his emotions fluctuating as he gazed at the scenes. He clenched his fists at times, and at others let out low growls, unable to control his emotions. He saw seven or eight-year-old children fighting valiantly, battling until they bled, only to suffer pitiful ends, obliterated, their young lives harvested. He even saw infants impaled by spears wielded by races from the stars, lifted high and flung away, leaving trails of blood.

"Was this the outcome back then? The plunderers from the stars—so cold-blooded and despicable, they all deserve to be executed!" Chu Feng murmured.

"You sympathize with the beings of the mother star. You temporarily meet the requirements. Please submit to a blood test." A sudden voice rang out, devoid of emotion, even somewhat cold.

Chu Feng instantly snapped alert, looking around suspiciously. Who was speaking? At the same time, he was confused by how intensely his emotions had fluctuated just now. Normally, seeing such scenes would indeed evoke anger and sympathy, but not to the point of such extreme loss of control.

Then, his pupils contracted. From the bas-relief on the giant stone, a spear extended, pointing directly at him. He quickly retreated, dodging it.

"Please submit to a blood test," the emotionless voice repeated, emanating from a dilapidated energy tower. It advanced with the spear, thrusting it towards Chu Feng. At that moment, the broken energy tower glowed intensely, suppressing Chu Feng and pinning him in place, unable to move. Then, with a *thump*, the spear pierced his body. The pain was unbearable; blood gushed out and splattered.

Chu Feng cried out, struggling fiercely, having unexpectedly met with misfortune. The energy tower arrived and departed quickly, flying up with the spear, emitting a soft glow as if analyzing Chu Feng's blood.

"A direct descendant of the mother star, pure bloodline," the cold, emotionless voice echoed again. In fact, it was a psychic wave.

"Who are you?" Chu Feng clutched his wound. After unlocking his heart's shackles, he possessed powerful regeneration abilities. Immediately, the bleeding stopped, and the wound began to heal, repairing his body.

"The Tester," the energy tower responded mechanically. Then, it sent another psychic wave, stating: "You are a being from the mother star, and you sympathize with the mother star. You meet the conditions. Would you like to attempt to receive the legacy?"

Chu Feng listened, dumbfounded. So... this was it! It wasn't his first time seeing an energy tower; he had long suspected them to be advanced technology, but now it seemed they were far more than just tools for evolution.

"Even if you needed to test my blood, did you really have to stab me with a spear?!" Chu Feng cried out indignantly once he understood the situation. It was utterly barbaric!

The cold voice replied, "I didn't realize you were so weak. Generally, beings who come for testing have tough skin, requiring a sharp spear to be thrust forcefully to pierce the epidermis and obtain blood."

Hearing this explanation, Chu Feng almost wanted to punch something, to blast that broken energy tower down! However, he really couldn't resort to force against this thing. He had just been immobilized, unable to move, and was powerless against it.

Chu Feng said, "Since I meet the criteria, then give me the legacy!"

"Continue deeper. If you are fully compatible, you will naturally receive it," the mechanical psychic wave emanated from the energy tower. Then, it began to disappear, merging back into the giant stone bas-relief.

"Hey, aren't you the legacy itself?!" Chu Feng called out. In his understanding, the energy tower represented the legacy, containing various secret techniques.

"I am broken; I only perform blood tests." After saying this, it vanished. As it finally departed, a ray of light emanated from the bas-relief, shining on Chu Feng and instantly healing his wound. Chu Feng's expression was unusual. Without another word, he strode forward.

On the moon, it was cold and desolate. Evidently, where Chu Feng was situated was a secret realm. He walked further inward. The ruins diminished, and he gradually saw some intact buildings. Finally, he entered a palace. It was neither made of copper nor constructed from jade. It was quite ordinary, built of dull, grayish stone, without any luster.

Walking inside, Chu Feng felt the insignificance of all things in the long river of time—even celestial bodies would turn to dust over ages. This place was truly unique. Chu Feng looked up. The space above the palace, initially hazy and gray, now transformed into a shimmering, indistinct star sea, making him feel as if he had entered outer space.

"Defeated, our race is doomed..." Chu Feng heard voices and even began to see visions occurring in the hazy star-sea above the palace. He then saw many women and children, the elderly, the weak, and the infirm, and powerful evolvers covered in blood bringing up the rear. They were fleeing their mother star, intending to escape into the cosmos.

Undoubtedly, this was a tragedy, even more vivid than the bas-reliefs he had seen earlier. A five or six-year-old girl cried loudly, "Brother, don't die! I want you to live, to be with me..." She reached out her small hand, trying to grasp something, her large eyes filled with tears as she wept sorrowfully. In the distance, a battle raged. Those covering the rear fell one by one. The girl's brother, not much older than her, was impaled by a spear, covered in blood. In his final moments, he turned back, struggling to look at his sister, opening his mouth as if to say something, but it was full of blood. The next moment, his head was severed by a blade!

"Brother!" the little girl screamed, her heart rending with grief.

This was just one snapshot. Those who left their homes and fled their mother star became refugees, leaving behind countless corpses, suffering untold casualties—it was too horrific.

"Go, I'll stay!" an old man, his body already severely mutilated, still cried out. He stood in for the younger generation, facing the enemy, his body gradually burning as he fought his last battle!
