Chapter 414: The World Has Changed

On the azure sea, a bamboo raft carried Chu Feng and Lin Nuoyi. They spoke of the past and discussed the present. As they faced their parting, there was no heaviness or fervent emotion, only peace and tranquility.

Some things needed no deep thought; time would flow, and years later, their life paths would undoubtedly diverge greatly. Chu Feng looked up, certain images reflecting in his mind. In the coming years, he would likely marry and have children, but what about Lin Nuoyi, on the other side of the starry sky? He shook his head at the thought.

The bamboo raft cut through the water, returning to Laoshan. Meanwhile, chaos reigned within Heavenly Deity Biology. The top echelons were shaken by the annihilation of the Evolution Dynasty's forces deep within Laoshan, a significant blow to them. The outside world was also in turmoil. A famous mountain, a single path: extraterrestrial beings were crossing over in large numbers. After many initial arrivals perished, some successfully made it through.

Chu Feng paid no heed to these events; he was there to see Lin Nuoyi off on her journey.

Time passed quickly. That night, as the bright moon hung high, a silvery-white pine tree glowed on a spiritual peak in Laoshan, with Lin Nuoyi standing beneath it. Chu Feng stood some distance away, gazing at her from behind. Against the cliff face, she seemed ethereal, enveloped by the night mist and moonlight. Her figure was beautiful, yet somewhat unreal.

“Goodbye!” Lin Nuoyi turned and looked at Chu Feng.

“Take care!” Chu Feng remained rooted, watching her leave.

Ahead, a swathe of symbols materialized, and a mysterious star-path, emitting a faint glow, opened on the cliff face, leading to an unknown destination. Lin Nuoyi’s energy tower appeared with a soft hum. She stepped onto the faintly glowing path, and her entire being instantly blurred. She waved her hand, and then departed.

A clear brilliance flashed, as if swallowing large portions of moonlight and starlight. The peak shone brightly, drawing in a celestial rain of light from the cosmos. But soon, the area dimmed again, falling into a deathly silence. Beneath the silver pine, everything returned to normal; there was nothing left.

Chu Feng stood for a long time, then finally turned around. He saw Lin Nuoyi's parents; they were nearby and had arrived earlier. He nodded gently, greeting them both.

“If the star-path isn’t broken and remains traversable, it should reappear once more at dawn,” Lin Nuoyi’s father said. Lin Nuoyi’s parents possessed a star stone, and if the path reappeared, they would use it to follow Lin Nuoyi, as had been previously arranged. This was the only star stone; holding it allowed access to the path. Ultimately, even with Lin Nuoyi’s detached demeanor, there were still things she couldn’t let go of. Lin Nuoyi’s parents appeared calm, but were in fact very anxious and worried that the star-path might be broken, leading to an accident for Lin Nuoyi after she stepped onto it.

At dawn, beneath the silver pine, the star-path reappeared! At this moment, Lin Nuoyi’s parents first showed joy, then a profound sense of melancholy, reluctant to leave this world. But in the end, they stepped onto the path their daughter had taken.

“Goodbye!”

Chu Feng waved at them, then turned and descended the mountain.

Behind him, the last glimmer of starlight flashed, drawing in cosmic energy from the air, and the two vanished with it. Simultaneously, the silver pine withered, and the cliff face silently turned to ash. Then, the entire mountain was shortened by a section, and the thousand-year-old Taoist temple perched upon it crumbled into dust. This transformation happened without a sound.

Chu Feng left, departing Laoshan directly without any delay.

By the time the sun rose, Chu Feng was already thousands of miles away. He switched on his communicator, which had been off for a long time, and was immediately bombarded by a flood of messages. He looked them over repeatedly, unable to reply to them all. As his finger scrolled through his contacts, he sighed softly, realizing that from now on, one person would be forever out of reach, becoming merely a memory.

Soon after, his communicator kept ringing; a group of powerful demons from Kunlun were looking for him.

“Brother, where are you?”

They informed him that quite a few extraterrestrial beings had crossed over and were appearing everywhere. The group of great demons had decided to officially abandon Mount Kunlun. At this critical juncture, they wished to lie low, unwilling to contend for power or engage in conflict.

Upon hearing this, Chu Feng looked up at the sky. This world had indeed changed. Who knew how many people from other star systems were arriving, entering Earth's space in droves? The sky was still the same sky, the ground still the same ground, and the air still fresh, but a certain trajectory had shifted. Even the great demons of Kunlun had come to terms with it, abandoning their sacred land. This was neither bowing down nor compromising; it was all simply for survival.

“Brother, what are your plans?” the Snow Leopard King asked through the communicator. The great demons all wanted to see him; after leaving Kunlun, they hadn't yet decided where to go next. For now, they were merely lying low, unwilling to fight a bloody battle over famous mountains.

“Me? Eat, sleep, beat up peas!” Chu Feng replied.

“What?”

The great demons were bewildered. Even the old lama didn't chant Buddhist sutras, his mind full of questions, looking utterly confused through the communicator.

“My mistake, well, it's eat, sleep, beat up aliens!” Chu Feng corrected.

“Beat up aliens? Didn't your sister-in-law tell you to lie low and not reappear for a while?” the Horse King asked, puzzled.

Chu Feng said, “Hmm, alright, lie low. But I just don't like the look of these aliens. Why should we hide just because they're here, and even give up our famous mountains to them?”

“That’s not right, brother, you’re the one who said we should withdraw from the famous mountains first to avoid bloodshed and casualties! Your current state isn't right. Quickly tell us where you are, let’s meet up,” the Snow Leopard King and others exclaimed.

Indeed, Chu Feng was truly annoyed. First, Yellow Ox, Black Ox, and others had left, with no certainty if they would ever emerge alive from Immortal Mountain. Now Lin Nuoyi had also departed, separated by immeasurable distances, and the great demons of Kunlun were forced to abandon Mount Kunlun. Ultimately, it was all due to the extraterrestrial arrivals. As people from other star systems continued to arrive, it was foreseeable that the situation for Earth's indigenous inhabitants, especially the evolvers, would become increasingly dire. Even now, as he traveled, he could feel a difference; the entire world seemed altered. A quick glance at news reports showed that all were discussing the arrivals. In just two days, peace had vanished from all regions, and the creatures within all famous mountains were agitated.

“Brother, speak up, where are you?” the Horse King’s loud voice boomed from the other end of the communicator, as he hadn't heard Chu Feng’s reply.

“Hold on, I think I see some aliens. I’m going to give them a good beating first, we’ll talk later!” Chu Feng said, staring at a patch of mountainous terrain ahead, then immediately hung up the communicator.

Thousands of miles away, the great demons were petrified. What was their brother planning? Was he going to actively beat up aliens?

“Damn it!”

“Aliens are pouring in like dumplings now, pot after pot, appearing everywhere with a popping sound, constantly emerging from the famous mountains. Is our brother going to stir up trouble?!”

“Hello? Hello? Hello?!”

The great demons were utterly speechless. They yelled into the communicator a few more times, only to realize it had been hung up long ago. What was wrong with their brother? Hadn't he said he would lie low and endure? Why was he going to seek trouble with the aliens himself?

“He really means ‘eat, sleep, beat up peas’—no, ‘beat up aliens’?!” one great demon wondered skeptically.

Ahead, several aliens emerged from a mountainous area. They didn't appear weak and were discussing the Laoshan tragedy, the downfall of the dynasty, and mentioned Chu Feng's name. As a result, Chu Feng, already in a foul mood, charged directly at them.

Bang, bang, bang… He immediately launched into a brutal beating. He didn't aim to kill, just to deliver a thorough thrashing. The aliens roared in fury. They had just arrived, barely surviving their emergence from the folded space, only to be savagely beaten before even provoking anyone else? They could tell this was a native, certainly not from another star system like them. Hadn't they been told this place was in decline, devoid of powerful evolvers?

“Roar, roar, roar…” These individuals roared loudly. Not yet knowing Earth languages, they expressed their anger through bellows and struggled to fight back, only to be beaten even more severely.

“Alien brats, what are you howling about? You all deserve a good beating!” Chu Feng declared, escalating his assault.

Not every arrival was as formidable as the Great Xia Prince. In fact, ninety-nine percent of those who managed to safely cross over were beings in the 'lock' realm; otherwise, they wouldn't have survived. The aliens were actually not weak, but they were completely suppressed by Chu Feng and thoroughly thrashed.

In the distance, passersby witnessed the scene, their eyes wide with shock. Wasn't that Chu Feng? Was he fighting… alien brats? Or rather, brutally beating them?

“Who are you, and why are you attacking us?” The aliens asked, filled with indignation, using telepathic communication. They had been beaten to a pulp, bruised and swollen, yet their attacker hadn't aimed for a killing blow.

“I am the Chu Feng you speak of. I don’t like the look of you, so I just wanted to give you a beating!”

The aliens were speechless with frustration. They wanted to curse; they were incredibly unlucky. They had already heard that this native was strange and powerful, but how could they encounter him the moment they appeared?! The passersby were also speechless. It seemed, apparently, possibly Chu Feng had initiated the attack? Was he looking for trouble with aliens? The human observers were greatly astonished.

Soon, news of the incident spread, posted online, astonishing everyone. The entire world had changed, with many extraterrestrial beings arriving, yet Chu Feng dared to act like this? This was too fierce, incredibly savage. Especially, what did he call the aliens? Alien brats! Many people were somewhat dumbfounded. Was this guy too eccentric? Could he actually do such a thing? At first, many didn't believe it.

After beating up the aliens, Chu Feng strolled away casually, leaving behind several extraterrestrial beings lying prostrate, faces contorted with indignation. However, these individuals were also somewhat convinced. After their anger subsided, they exchanged glances, realizing they could only blame their own bad luck. Who told them to discuss that native, only for him to overhear? He was too uncanny, not someone to be provoked!

In fact, this wasn't an isolated incident. As Chu Feng traveled, he encountered four or five groups of extraterrestrial arrivals consecutively, missing none, and giving them all a thorough beating. While others would steer clear of arrivals, Chu Feng, in his foul mood, would actively approach them if he saw them emerging from the mountains. When evolvers from other star systems showed him disrespect, he would decisively give them a brutal beating! Although he had a pretext, his actions also had a hint of 'seeking trouble,' leading him to severely beat up four or five groups of aliens along the way, sending them flying in all directions.

Not to mention ordinary people, even those who knew him, like Xiong Kun, Hu Sheng, Jiang Luoshen, and Ouyang Qing, were dumbfounded and flabbergasted. Upon learning of this, the great demons of Mount Kunlun were also speechless. So, he really meant ‘eat, sleep, beat up aliens’ after all?!

Just when people thought Chu Feng would cause major trouble, events unfolded beyond everyone's expectations. Some extraterrestrial beings emerging from the folded space actually began to show goodwill towards Chu Feng.

“Chu Feng, our Saintess requests your presence!” An extraterrestrial powerhouse came seeking him, extending a solemn invitation.

“Saintess? Such beings have really arrived?!”

“I say, Brother Chu Feng, that… way of speaking isn't very good, is it?” The extraterrestrial being smiled without warmth.
