Chapter 355: Pitfall

The soil shimmered. A small tree, three feet tall, resembled a golden pine, rooted in the ground, and was the only vegetation present. The air was thick with the rich scent of fruit.

Liu Wucheng lay prostrate on the ground, seeing stars, his ears buzzing, and blood streaming from his nose and mouth. The small tree was within reach, yet it seemed incredibly distant to him.

Fury surged within him. Someone he had captured "to work" had dared to touch the extraordinary fruit he valued so highly and had even injured him.

He considered this a great humiliation, driving him to extreme rage.

The person he deemed useless had actually slapped him twice, the blows crisp and loud. His face was swollen, and his teeth were completely loose. It was utterly shameful.

The assailant, the one he had previously believed to have lost his path of evolution, was now nonchalantly eating the exotic fruit, its rich fragrance almost tangible.

Liu Wucheng got up again, his eyes bloodshot. He snarled, "You're dead. Do you know who I am? You will die without a burial place!"

His gaze was chilling, like a venomous snake staring at Chu Feng. No one had ever dared to treat him like this, to slap him and steal his opportunity right to his face.

"You're quite stubborn for someone who doesn't know his place, still daring to threaten me?!" Chu Feng said, chewing the exotic fruit and walking forward in blissful rapture.

At that moment, he felt every pore in his body open, his whole being glowing with golden light, enveloped in the fruit's aroma. This exotic fruit was truly magnificent.

Liu Wucheng sensed something was wrong. He had been shouting loudly, but why weren't the people outside coming in? This place seemed isolated from the outside world, completely silent.

Chu Feng narrowed his eyes, feeling light as air.

He felt he had never tasted a fruit so delicious. It was smooth and tender on the tongue, with unparalleled sweetness and fragrance, like a hundred-year-old vintage, capable of intoxicating one to the bone.

At this moment, he even forgot that the fruit could promote evolution; he was simply savoring its exquisite taste.

"Swoosh!"

Seizing the moment while Chu Feng's expression was "distant," Liu Wucheng opened his mouth and spat out a stream of Gengjin Sword Energy. It surged from his lungs and erupted from his nose and mouth, possessing terrifying lethality.

This was an unconventional flying sword, even more formidable than a tangible one!

Furthermore, this was a secret technique. Ordinary people could not master it; without the proper incantations, attempting to practice it would damage one's lungs, obstruct the path of evolution, or even cause disability.

Chu Feng's eyes suddenly brightened. He lifted his leg and kicked directly, meeting the sharp Gengjin energy from the lung head-on.

"Idiot, you're asking for death!" Liu Wucheng sneered, convinced that no flesh-and-blood body, no matter how powerful, could compare to the Gengjin Sword Energy cultivated in the lungs; it was destined to be severed.

However, the sole of Chu Feng's foot glowed, energy boiling!

This was the Divine Leg technique. Besides allowing him to achieve incredible speeds, it also possessed terrifying power, capable of shattering mountains with a kick.

How formidable was this energy?

Especially now, with the small millstone within Chu Feng, all his bodily energy had been purified, its quality sharply improved, making his Divine Leg technique akin to a true divine ability.

Otherwise, dealing with that metal energy cultivated from the lungs would indeed have been tricky.

With a bang, Chu Feng's kick struck the sword gleam, causing it to explode. The scattered metallic energy splashed, astonishingly transforming parts of the earth and rock into metal.

This was a bizarre transformation!

At the same time, Chu Feng kicked Liu Wucheng flying, his chest caving in, many bones broken, and him coughing up large mouthfuls of blood.

Next, Chu Feng delivered another kick, sweeping the sole of his foot across Liu Wucheng's face. Immediately, all his teeth flew out, and he was sent hurtling sideways into the distance.

He crashed to the ground, his heart filled with terror. His vision blurred, and he nearly fainted. He fought against the overwhelming fatigue to remain conscious.

Liu Wucheng spoke with difficulty, "Spare me, or you won't survive either. The people outside will have noticed something is wrong and surely contacted our elders."

His tone softened. At the very least, his demeanor was much humbler than before, no longer arrogant.

"Delicious, the taste is too wonderful."

Chu Feng's words were so casual, as if he hadn't heard a word Liu Wucheng said.

"Chu Feng, don't misjudge the situation. Even if you aren't crippled, what then? You are no match for the Descenders. If you kill me, my elders will certainly act ruthlessly once they find out. You won't be able to stand against them."

Liu Wucheng recoiled. His face was pale, and fear gripped his heart. Seeing Chu Feng in this state made his heart sink deeper and deeper.

Chu Feng continued to eat the fruit, surrounded by its fresh aroma. He felt the vitality within him rapidly surge, his cellular activity incredibly vigorous, surging like a tide.

"So comfortable," he murmured, stretching his limbs. He walked forward, and with a "bang," a single kick sent Liu Wucheng flying a hundred feet away.

In mid-air, Liu Wucheng's bones shattered and his tendons snapped, his mouth full of bloody foam. He finally landed in an area where faint flames flickered, and immediately shrieked in agony.

Because, brilliant flames suddenly erupted there; it was Solar Fire Essence, drawn out and burning fiercely, directly engulfing him.

Liu Wucheng screamed, rolling on the ground. In an instant, he was burned beyond recognition, his skin split, bones dissolving, and tendons melting, a truly horrific sight.

Because this was Solar Fire Essence. Let alone his body, even stronger individuals would die if they encountered it; no one on Earth could withstand such concentrated fire essence.

"Chu Feng, you'll die a terrible death! How dare you do this to me! The people outside must have noticed; they'll report it to my father, and he'll tear you into ten thousand pieces!" Liu Wucheng shrieked.

"I'm truly embarrassed for you. All you do is spout your father's name – what good is he?! You brought this fate upon yourself with your arrogance. Did you really think Earth was your private domain, you descendants of Descenders?" Chu Feng scoffed, completely unconcerned.

He had wanted to eliminate these people for a long time. They were too arrogant, kidnapping him, treating him as free labor, looking down on him, and even plotting to silence him when they spoke privately.

To Chu Feng, such people deserved only one fate: to be kicked to death.

He wasn't worried at all. This area was isolated from the outside, so how could the few people outside know what was happening within?

"Killing all of them wouldn't be ideal. I was still planning to deeply cooperate with them, after all, the resources and information they possess are astonishing," Chu Feng mused to himself.

If it weren't for these people today, he definitely wouldn't have found the tomb of the ancient tribal leader God Khan, nor would he have plucked the golden exotic fruit.

"Leaving just one is enough. I'll kill the rest. But who should I keep?" Chu Feng hesitated, his thoughts determining the fates of the others.

Outside, Li Xinghe and Yu Hanzhi grew impatient, showing signs of unease.

"Why is Liu Wucheng taking so long? He's been inside for a while now, why hasn't he come out?" Yu Hanzhi grumbled.

"I'll go check," Li Xinghe said. He worried Liu Wucheng might be hoarding the treasures, as they had agreed to take the golden fruit for alchemy and share it.

"I'll go in with you," Yu Hanzhi said.

The two walked side by side, treading cautiously along the path Chu Feng had taken.

Li Xinghe stepped in first and instantly caught the refreshing scent of fruit. He saw Chu Feng there, eating the fruit, with golden light emanating from his nose and mouth.

He instantly erupted in fury. How outrageous! There were only two fruits on the tree, and Chu Feng had eaten one?!

"Chu Feng, how dare you! Do you know what you're doing?!" He yelled, his earlier mild-mannered demeanor completely gone, his face ashen.

"You... you dared to eat our fruit, you're asking for death!" Yu Hanzhi shrieked, exasperated, after entering.

"You two are disgusting. Just because you're descendants of Descenders, you act so arrogant and self-important, believing everything good belongs to you?!" Chu Feng looked at them.

Li Xinghe and Yu Hanzhi's faces instantly turned ashen. At the same time, they realized something was wrong: Liu Wucheng was nowhere to be seen, and they had a bad feeling.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

They quickly retreated, wanting to leave first and settle scores with Chu Feng later. As descendants of Descenders, a single command from them would bring countless individuals to their service.

Though they were decisive, as they retreated, their scalps tingled. They couldn't get out; the original path was blocked, and the field had closed.

"You native, do you know your place?" Yu Hanzhi snarled.

"You're the most disgusting woman, always babbling about 'natives' and 'Descenders from beyond the domain,' as if you're all aliens. Weren't your mothers from Earth?!" Chu Feng retorted mockingly.

"How dare you speak to me like that?!" Yu Hanzhi shrieked, her beautiful face contorted with rage.

Chu Feng sneered, "What are you even? So self-important. If you love the outside domain so much, then get off Earth. Don't live here; you're truly annoying."

Yu Hanzhi was so enraged her delicate body trembled. No one had ever dared to speak to her like this. Since she emerged from the Arctic Immortal Cave, who hadn't treated her with respect?

"Where's Liu Wucheng?" Li Xinghe asked in a deep voice. He had no time for pretense now, no longer acting approachable, his face so grim that water could drip from it.

"Over there," Chu Feng pointed a hundred feet away. There lay a terrifying, human-shaped pile of ash.

"Oh, oh, oh, so comfortable, I can't stand it!" Chu Feng actually cried out, because the surge in his cellular activity was somewhat frightening.

He now felt as though he could break the sixth great seal at any moment.

"You... you deserve to die!" Yu Hanzhi shrieked, simultaneously horrified and involuntarily retreating.

"Ribbit, ribbit, ribbit..." Just then, the toad croaked, attempting to enter the field. Chu Feng guided it, shifting some magnetic stones to allow it to successfully break through.

With a "whoosh," Yu Hanzhi rushed towards the toad. She had heard Chu Feng say he cared deeply for this mount, never abandoning it, and she wanted to strike first and take a hostage.

"Slap!"

However, she never expected that once the toad entered and assessed the situation, it would no longer hold back. It immediately leaped up, swung its arm in a full circle, and delivered a powerful slap to her.

With just that one blow, Yu Hanzhi was sent flying, one of her arms nearly broken, which utterly horrified her. What kind of toad was this?

"I've put up with you for too long!" the toad bellowed, standing upright. It quickly rushed over, pursuing Yu Hanzhi.

"You disgusting toad, how dare you!" Yu Hanzhi cursed.

"You're the toad! Your whole family are toads! This venerable one is a divine beast, and I'll beat you to death!" The toad struck with lightning speed.

It's worth noting that it and Chu Feng had fought for a long time on that day, possessing frighteningly terrifying strength!

Yu Hanzhi immediately coughed up blood from the impact. Her face was filled with horror. She couldn't even defeat a toad? Was there any justice in this world?!

"Cough!"

And then, at that moment, the toad opened its mouth and spat directly at Yu Hanzhi. In an instant, her face was covered in spit.

Yu Hanzhi shrieked, trembling all over, her skin crawling with goosebumps. She frantically wiped her face, feeling as if she was going mad.

"I'll kill you!" she raged.

Cough! Splat!

The toad coughed and started spitting again, this time like a torrential downpour, spraying a large amount of liquid that drenched Yu Hanzhi like a drowned chicken.

"Ahhh!" It was a high-pitched scream. Yu Hanzhi nearly fainted from rage. This experience was like torture from hell.

For a woman who valued her beauty, this was the most terrifying form of torture. She couldn't bear it, trembling as she retreated, then retching there, nearly throwing up bile.

The toad delivered a slap, a veritable "toad palm," sending Yu Hanzhi flying. She fell to the ground, blood streaming from her seven orifices, clearly on the verge of death.

Finally, imitating Chu Feng, it threw Yu Hanzhi into the Solar Fire Essence, burning her to ashes.

Li Xinghe witnessed all of this firsthand. Even though the temperature here was high, he was so frightened his hands and feet turned cold, and chills ran down his spine. A despised toad, Chu Feng's mount, that had accompanied them on their journey, was actually so monstrous, easily disposing of the powerful Yu Hanzhi. Was there any justice in this world?!

Li Xinghe's vision blurred, and he nearly fainted. He knew it was over; his life was in jeopardy.

"How can you be so strong?" He looked at the toad, then at Chu Feng.

At this point, there was nothing he didn't understand. Chu Feng was definitely not crippled; he was setting a trap. He dared to kill the descendants of Descenders... he would surely kill Li Xinghe to silence him.

"Don't attack, I have something to say. Brother Chu..." Li Xinghe wanted to talk to Chu Feng.

However, with a "bang," he was sent tumbling into the Solar Fire Essence, letting out a horrific scream.

His fate was sealed.

Just then, the Beast King Cai Ying arrived, peering in from outside the field, wanting to enter.

Chu Feng naturally didn't stop her, allowing her to successfully enter.

"You..." She was aghast.

"Feathered brute, you've been sarcastic the whole way here, and you became even more audacious once we arrived, even suggesting to kill me first. Now, I'll roast you!" the toad said chillingly, then burst into laughter.

"Bang, bang, bang..."

After a brief exchange, the toad forced Beast King Cai Ying back to her original form and killed her on the spot.

In just moments, Li Xinghe and the others were almost completely annihilated. Only Xu Mei remained outside, still unaware of what had transpired inside.

"You're lucky enough. I'll let you live for continued deep cooperation." Chu Feng looked outside.

"You've killed everyone, how can you still cooperate?" The toad squinted at him.

"I'm warning you, don't squint at me," Chu Feng glared at it. Then he added, "Who said I killed them? Clearly, this place is dangerous; they accidentally fell into the Solar Fire Essence pit and were burned to death."

"What fire essence pit? You clearly tricked them into their deaths!" the toad said, still squinting.

"Dare to seriously spout nonsense and slander me again, and I'll roast you immediately!"

"Damn it, is there no justice left?!"
