Chapter 222: Divine Servant

He landed lightly, possessing an exceptionally distinguished, ethereal, and profound aura. A gentle smile graced his face as he looked at Lin Nuoyi.

His long silver hair cascaded down, emitting a silvery glow that enhanced the crystalline quality of his fair complexion. He had striking features: cerulean eyes, a high nose bridge, and a very chiseled appearance.

Although his face was Western, he was remarkably handsome.

Aman!

It was him, the Divine Emissary.

Chu Feng, the Yellow Ox, and the Black Ox all recognized him instantly. They had encountered this person outside the Misty Canyon when returning from their western expedition.

Lin Nuoyi remained calm and unruffled, offering no response.

"Brother Chu, we meet again," Aman said with a smile, turning to Chu Feng.

Chu Feng felt a genuine dislike upon seeing him. It wasn't their first meeting, and he knew Aman was far from the sunny disposition he projected. Aman was arrogant, conceited, and hypocritical on the inside, though he concealed it well.

Nevertheless, Chu Feng nodded and greeted him.

"After many days apart, the Ox King's demeanor is even more impressive than before," Aman remarked, looking at the Black Ox. He then waved to the Yellow Ox as well, being very considerate.

The Black Ox ignored him, feeling immense disgust. He knew Aman's hypocrisy well; though Aman had appeared graceful at their first meeting, the contempt and arrogance deep in his eyes had inadvertently surfaced.

Everyone's reactions were muted, but Aman remained consistently amiable. He approached Lin Nuoyi, mentioning some observations from his time in Jiangning and thanking Heavenly Gods Biotech for their hospitality.

Lin Nuoyi was calm. She wasn't as direct as the Black Ox, nor as perfunctory as Chu Feng. She spoke a few words to him, indifferently but politely.

Nearby, the White Tiger was bewildered. He didn't know Aman, but just from his appearance, he was clearly no ordinary person, enveloped as he was in divine radiance.

However, the White Tiger's mind wasn't slow. Even though Aman seemed gentle like a gentleman, the reactions of the two oxen and Chu Feng suggested he was a complex individual.

Aman was composed, nodding with a smile to the White Tiger and Lu Shiyun as well, greeting everyone comprehensively.

Chu Feng stepped forward. He knew that Lin Nuoyi had come to Longhu Mountain precisely to avoid meeting this so-called Divine Emissary.

"Brother Aman, please come this way, let's talk," Chu Feng said, aiming to help Lin Nuoyi out of the situation. He didn't want to see her entangled, even if Aman was very polite and always wore an enthusiastic smile.

The more polite Aman was, the more hypocritical Chu Feng found him.

Lin Nuoyi's eyes softened for a moment as she glanced at Chu Feng, but quickly reverted. She actually didn't want Chu Feng to step in; she felt she could handle it herself.

She knew well that this Divine Emissary was not simple, and the people behind him were highly influential.

"Alright, Brother Chu, it's been many days since we last met. I was just thinking of catching up with you," Aman said with a hearty laugh, walking directly towards him.

The Yellow Ox frowned. Aman still carried the snow-white silver lamp, but its wick now flickered with black flames, making even him wary.

This was a terrifying weapon, and it was Aman's confidence to walk freely across the Eastern lands, as he believed himself unafraid of any challenge.

Although Chu Feng disliked him, he didn't want to immediately break ties. He conversed calmly, asking about the fruits of Aman's journey to the East.

"Not bad," Aman replied. "Some of the paramount experts in the East are very reasonable and show great respect for the divine oracle. They've decided to pardon Schiller and drop the charges."

"Oh, which expert is that?" Chu Feng asked, not believing him. Aman might appear sunny, but he was far from straightforward and honorable.

"Which son of a bitch dares to defy public condemnation and let Schiller go?!" the Black Ox roared, his eyes wide. Then he sneered, "I think you're just making things up, aren't you?" He was direct and showed no politeness.

"The Ox King is truly overbearing. Your words are quite rude," Aman said flatly. A divine light flickered in his eyes—a hint of his sharpness, though he didn't reveal it fully.

"We came to see Longhu Mountain. Are we still going to look?" Lu Shiyun interjected.

Lin Nuoyi walked towards her, and together they began observing Longhu Mountain to understand the true situation of the area. The White Tiger quickly followed, concerned his sister might wander off.

"Heh heh..." Aman chuckled, glancing at Chu Feng and the two oxen. His eyes held confidence and a divine glimmer. Unwilling to speak further with them, he slowly followed Lin Nuoyi as she walked away.

"I don't like this so-called Divine Emissary at all. What kind of show is he putting on? Isn't he just a lackey for some otherworldly genius? Divine Emissary my ass!" the Black Ox muttered from behind.

Of course, this was a mental transmission, with a very limited range, audible only to Chu Feng and the Yellow Ox.

His eyes flashed menacingly. "Can we take him out?!" he asked.

It wasn't just him; Chu Feng also felt that if they could deal with Aman, the sooner the better.

This Aman was working on Schiller's behalf. Ultimately, he was an enemy, not a friend!

The Yellow Ox sighed softly. "He's difficult to deal with. The silver lamp he carries is an extraordinary magical weapon. It contains the Essence of Lunar Fire. Once unleashed, black flames would engulf the sky, potentially incinerating even creatures that have broken six shackles."

Chu Feng rubbed the Vajra Yaksha with his hand. Unless it was a one-hit kill, the consequences would be severe.

"A magical weapon of that caliber is enough for self-defense. Unless you can shatter that silver lamp first, you likely won't be able to kill him," the Yellow Ox informed him.

If Chu Feng wanted to act, he would have to directly destroy the silver lamp. Otherwise, if the Lunar Fire erupted, it would incinerate mountains, evaporate lakes, and devastate the entire area.

Upon hearing this, a fervent gleam appeared in the Black Ox's eyes. This silver lamp was incredibly powerful; if they could seize it, it would truly be a handy weapon.

Aman stopped, standing ahead, waiting for Chu Feng and the two oxen to approach. A faint smile touched his lips, no longer as warm and bright.

Lin Nuoyi had already walked away.

He knew himself that the three behind him held no fondness for him, a sentiment present since their last meeting. Moreover, this man and two oxen showed a distinct lack of reverence!

Aman felt a slight chill. He considered himself a Divine Emissary, walking these Eastern lands, yet even a so-called Demon King Chu and two oxen dared to be disrespectful to him, which truly angered him.

In fact, he very much wanted to use the silver lamp to directly slaughter the three, but for some reason, he always felt a certain threat emanating from them and didn't dare to act rashly.

"Huh, why aren't you smiling anymore? You were all radiant just now. Why are you looking at us like that?" the Black Ox asked.

"I was waiting for the three of you. I'd like to chat," Aman said indifferently, dropping his earlier geniality. He felt there was no need to hide his true feelings from them anymore.

"What do you want to talk about? Longhu Mountain, or the divine oracle?" Chu Feng asked nonchalantly, clearly just going through the motions.

"Longhu Mountain has long been reserved by the divine. Don't harbor any wishful thinking; no one can ascend this place. You... heh!" Aman declared arrogantly, a cold sneer on his face.

This made the Black Ox want to kick him. He found this Divine Emissary lackey increasingly distasteful, especially since he dared to look down on the three of them.

Next, Aman looked at Chu Feng again and said, "I hear you and Miss Nuoyi graduated from the same university and had some interactions?"

"You investigated me?!" Chu Feng glared at him, a cold glint in his eyes.

Aman said flatly, "You're not worth my investigation; you don't have that qualification. I only became aware of some things from Miss Lin's past when I was focusing on her."

He was now completely unmasked, fully revealing his arrogance.

Aman was very arrogant. "Furthermore, I warn you: you are completely unqualified to be with Miss Lin. Stay away from her, or your fate won't be pleasant."

At this point, even the Yellow Ox wanted to give him a beating. Was this man so fearless simply because he possessed a magical weapon?

The Black Ox was even more eager to strike directly. He couldn't stand such a hypocritical person; Aman had earlier feigned righteousness, but now his true colors were finally showing.

"You're warning me?" Chu Feng stopped the Black Ox, looking at Aman. "On what grounds? Just because you run errands for that so-called god, and as his servant, you feel superior?"

His voice wasn't loud, but to Aman's ears, it felt like a dull knife stabbing him, making him uncomfortable. To be called a servant of god ignited a furious blaze in his chest.

He was a Divine Emissary, yet he was being so belittled. His gaze instantly turned cold, and holding the silver lamp, a layer of dark light spread, enveloping his body.

Chu Feng's taunt was because he intended to act.

The moment was right; he sensed the presence of the Undying Phoenix King.

Unfortunately, Aman suddenly drifted backward a distance; he no longer wanted to strike.

Aman was very cautious. He could never quite fathom Chu Feng and the two oxen, always sensing some kind of threat from them, which kept him from acting rashly.

This was his extraordinary quality: keen divine perception.

"Let me offer you a piece of advice: stop disturbing Miss Nuoyi's peace. She is destined to be with the divine and our lineage, not someone you, a mere mortal, can aspire to," Aman stated.

He then smiled again, returning to his sunny demeanor. "We don't need to confront each other; we're not enemies. Perhaps we'll even cooperate in the future."

He turned and left, but in a secluded spot, he immediately pulled out a communicator and contacted someone. "Senior, come quickly to Longhu Mountain. Chu Feng is here, and without paramount experts nearby, he can be easily killed!"

"What Divine Emissary? He's just a lackey! How dare he disrespect us? I really want to kill him right now," the Black Ox fumed, fire in his eyes.

"Don't rush," Chu Feng said. "The Undying Phoenix King is already here. Once the Siberian Tiger arrives, we'll act immediately, deal with him, and try to seize the silver lamp intact."

"This guy really hates us. He was about to make a move just now, but then he backed down," the Yellow Ox commented.

"Could he be waiting... for Schiller!" Chu Feng's heart tightened as this speculation arose.

This Divine Emissary had come to the East specifically to act on Schiller's behalf. Both served that same god. After so much time, Schiller's injuries must have almost healed.

Chu Feng transmitted a message to someone not far away: "Phoenix King, don't show yourself for now. Wait to ambush Schiller!"

"I hope the Northeast Tiger gets here soon. We can ambush Schiller together!" the Black Ox said, rubbing his fists.

If two experts who had broken six shackles launched a combined attack, they might be able to make Schiller suffer a bitter defeat!
