Chapter 211: Avoid It or Be Eaten

King-level creatures from the sea have come ashore. It’s impossible to tell how many powerful beings have evolved in those vast oceans; their numbers are simply too immense to count!

Chu Feng, with deep eyes, quietly sipped his drink. He thought of many things: could there truly be ocean eyes and Dragon Palaces? Had the immortal islands and the Fusang divine tree overseas already emerged?

In the adjacent hall, Qi Teng and Ma Kuo were having a pleasant conversation with Xia Lan, who had traveled a long distance from the East Sea, showering him with compliments.

“My apologies, Brother Xia, I didn’t realize you had already broken the fourth genetic lock, making you a super king! Your strength is no less than that of the Demon King Chu! It’s laughable to think about it; what’s so great about Chu Feng? He’s not necessarily stronger than you, Brother Xia, yet he’s so arrogant, repeatedly rejecting us!”

“Come, let me propose a toast to Brother Xia. We’ve truly enjoyed ourselves today.”

Qi Teng and Ma Kuo held deep prejudices against Chu Feng, and their hostility was very evident when they spoke of him.

Xia Lan laughed heartily, exchanging toasts with them, while also meticulously asking them about the situation on land. He appeared crude but was quite discerning.

Chu Feng was speechless. So many people wanted to win him over, extending olive branches, but he simply didn’t have the energy to attend all their invitations. He had gently declined, and as a result, some people resented him.

He truly didn’t know what to say. Was Chu Feng arrogant, or were these people just accustomed to arrogance and dominance? They became so hostile simply because he didn’t agree to their requests.

Then, his expression turned cold. How dare these two insult him? Even if they weren’t yet kings, what if they were true king-level powerhouses? Not even the master of the Qin Research Institute would dare be so disrespectful to him!

Recently, he had consecutively slain king-level creatures. Powerful beings like Scarlet Scale and the Golden Lion had fallen one after another, and even the Vatican had been razed to the ground, striking fear into all kings.

He had just returned from the Western expedition, renowned for his formidable reputation. Were these two people truly in a position to mock him?

At that moment, Xiong Kun and Hu Sheng returned. They were about to speak, but Chu Feng stopped them.

“Ridiculous! Chu Feng dares to disrespect us? Does he really think he’s an unmatched expert? What is he, anyway? He’ll be taught a lesson sooner or later, and face misfortune!” Qi Teng said with satisfaction from the adjacent hall.

Ma Kuo also nodded, saying, “I’m looking forward to Brother Bailong making his move and suppressing the Demon King Chu. I really want to see the indignant and frustrated look on his face after he’s defeated, haha... Does he truly believe no one can stand against him?!”

The two laughed heartily and without restraint.

Xia Lan looked at them with a faint smile and said, “You’re overthinking it. If my elder brother Bailong makes a move, Chu Feng won’t have a chance to live; he’ll be directly slaughtered! Oh, my mistake, I meant he’ll accidentally be killed during a fair duel.”

Qi Teng and Ma Kuo burst into laughter upon hearing this, toasting Xia Lan once more.

In the adjacent room, Xiong Kun, Hu Sheng, and the others, whose hearing was far less keen than Chu Feng’s, still vaguely caught some of the conversation, and their expressions all changed.

“Let’s go take a look,” Chu Feng said, rising to his feet.

Xiong Kun, Hu Sheng, and Lu Qing all shivered. They knew Chu Feng’s temperament; he feared not even the Holy See and had participated in the Western expedition.

He had no fear of the powerful Western Alliance, let alone others.

Xiong Kun knocked on the copper ring of the large door, quickly drawing sounds of displeasure from within. Ma Kuo and Qi Teng had already given instructions not to be disturbed without their summons.

“Could it be my elder brother?” Qi Teng wondered, not daring to complain further.

However, when he personally opened the door and saw a burly young man, his face immediately darkened. “Who are you? So ill-mannered, disturbing our enjoyment!” he snapped.

Xiong Kun glared, fearless. He shoved Qi Teng aside and strode directly into the room.

“How dare you!” Ma Kuo roared, having approached and glared furiously at Xiong Kun.

However, he noticed something was off with Qi Teng. After being pushed aside, Qi Teng’s face was pale, and he hadn't dared to reprimand Xiong Kun, standing there almost rigid.

Soon, Ma Kuo’s mind reeled, and he too froze in place, as he saw Chu Feng standing outside the door. All color drained from his face instantly.

“Chu... Feng?!” Qi Teng uttered with difficulty, his body recoiling, pupils constricted in fear.

Ma Kuo mirrored him, also stepping back.

Their scalps tingled, and a chill ran down their spines. Their bodies tensed; they had never imagined the person they were just talking about would appear right there.

Xiong Kun and Hu Sheng invited Chu Feng inside, casting cold smiles at Qi Teng and Ma Kuo. These two had truly been too bold, daring to insult the Demon King Chu behind his back.

Chu Feng stepped in, his expression indifferent.

“Brother Chu, I didn’t know you would honor us with your presence. Please forgive our lack of welcome!” Qi Teng forced out a smile, his body stiff, barely managing to take half a step forward to greet him.

Chu Feng raised his hand and slapped him across the face. Qi Teng shrieked, his mouth filling with blood from the immense impact. His entire body flew horizontally, most of his teeth falling out in the process, and he crashed against the back wall.

“Brother Chu, what is this?” Ma Kuo’s face turned pale, his heart filled with extreme dread.

The next moment, his face nearly exploded, blood gushing from his mouth, teeth mixed with it as they fell. He, too, flew backward, slamming into the wall.

The two wailed and writhed on the floor. Not only had their teeth fallen out, but their jawbones were also completely fractured and splintered. The pain was unbearable.

“You two dare to insult me behind my back? Haven’t your elders taught you manners?” Chu Feng said calmly, looking down at them.

The two on the ground were a mix of shame and rage, but also utterly terrified. Who wouldn’t be wary of this Demon King Chu?

Had they known he was nearby, they would never have dared to speak so disrespectfully and mock him.

Yet, deep down, they were still shocked and enraged. Chu Feng’s actions showed he didn’t put them in his eyes at all, directly stating that their elders hadn’t raised them properly.

“Let alone you two, even if a king-level representative from the Qin Research Institute came, they wouldn’t dare act so presumptuously in front of me!” Chu Feng said coldly.

Ma Kuo and Qi Teng felt as if cold water had been poured over them, chilling them from head to toe. They recalled Chu Feng’s achievements: destroying the Holy See’s divine city, devouring Western dragons. He had faced the most formidable powers, and indeed, he had no fear of the Qin Research Institute!

Their hearts were bitter, filled with immense dread. They were truly unlucky to have been caught red-handed.

“Just two ants, daring to slander and plot against my young uncle, how ridiculous! They have no idea of the immensity of heaven and earth!” Xiong Kun scoffed.

“They made their own bed, now they must lie in it!” Hu Sheng shook his head, his narrow eyes glinting. He and Xiong Kun stepped forward together and began stomping them forcefully.

*Crack!*

The sound of bones cracking mingled with the miserable screams of Ma Kuo and Qi Teng. Both were terrified out of their wits. Was Chu Feng going to beat them to death?

In a short while, they were both completely fractured, lying on the ground like two piles of mud, unable to move.

“Demon King Chu?!”

Only then did Xia Lan, still seated in the hall, speak, looking at Chu Feng in the courtyard with a surprised expression.

He was very robust, covered entirely in a layer of dark red armor that gleamed with a cold metallic sheen. Even his head was protected by a dark red helmet.

It wasn’t until Chu Feng looked at him that Xia Lan stood up. He was over two meters tall, exuding an intimidating aura, with two divine beams of light shooting from his eyes.

“Does your elder brother Bailong intend to kill me?” Chu Feng asked.

“A misunderstanding. My brother merely wishes to spar with you. He might not be able to fully control his strength, so it’s quite normal if either of you gets hurt,” Xia Lan said with a smile.

“Still not admitting it? We heard everything just now!” Xiong Kun, being straightforward, scoffed.

“Oh, really? Fatalities and injuries are unavoidable when powerful individuals fight; it’s quite normal. Is Brother Chu perhaps afraid?” Xia Lan chuckled, then his smile faded. “How about we spar a bit first?” he suggested.

He was polite, yet extremely arrogant, knowing that Chu Feng had only broken four genetic locks, putting them on the same level. Xia Lan was quite unconvinced.

Chu Feng spoke, “You are from the ocean. I have never met you before. Go tell your elder brother Bailong not to make a move just because he’s been incited. Let’s consider this matter closed for today. I don’t wish to make enemies for no reason.”

Xia Lan remained unmoved, stating indifferently, “Brother Chu, you’re overthinking it. What kind of person is my elder brother Bailong? Could Qi Sheng really sway his will? My brother genuinely wants to challenge you.”

“Is that so? So, your elder brother is destined to fight me, and once he defeats me, he will kill me?!” Chu Feng asked.

“Any sparring match can have unforeseen circumstances; no one can say for sure,” Xia Lan stated casually.

Cold glints appeared in the eyes of Xiong Kun, Hu Sheng, Lu Qing, and the others. These creatures from the ocean were truly arrogant. Although Xia Lan spoke lightly, his words were extremely domineering.

“Is that so? Since this fight is unavoidable, then so be it! Didn’t you say you also wanted to spar with me? Let’s begin!” Chu Feng said.

Xia Lan burst into laughter and suddenly struck. Swift as lightning, he launched an incredibly fast attack, a punch hurtling towards Chu Feng’s head, vicious and decisive.

Chu Feng raised his fist to meet it, clashing directly with him.

Lightning suddenly erupted from Xia Lan’s fist, intensely bright, engulfing the area and threatening to cover Chu Feng beneath it.

In his hand, he was actually clutching a bead that emitted beams of thunder, incredibly powerful. This was the source of Xia Lan’s confidence; in the sea, he often used it to instantly kill opponents!

Xiong Kun, Hu Sheng, and the others exclaimed in shock. As extraordinary beings, they feared lightning the most, feeling as though they were facing divine punishment, and their scalps tingled.

They all knew that Xia Lan appeared to be a rough individual, but he was actually extremely ruthless. His opening move was a surprise attack, clearly intending to kill Chu Feng in a single blow.

Chu Feng sneered, his palm glowing. With a booming sound, lightning erupted, shattering the bead in Xia Lan’s hand into countless pieces with a *crack*.

Moreover, fierce electrical light surged from his palm, spreading out to engulf Xia Lan, making him tremble uncontrollably before sending him flying horizontally.

With a *whoosh*, a spear of lightning materialized in Chu Feng’s left hand and pierced directly into Xia Lan’s body. With a *bang*, Xia Lan’s chest exploded, his body nearly torn in two.

Only then did Xia Lan shriek in agony. He was in immense pain and utterly disbelving that the bead capable of unleashing lightning had been destroyed!

What shocked him most was that the Demon King Chu himself commanded lightning and electrical arcs that were several times more powerful than his own bead!

“Brother Chu, your strength is indeed formidable. I admit defeat; I am no match for you, completely subdued,” Xia Lan said.

At this point, he had reverted to his original form, which was an enormous lobster, over ten meters long and as thick as a water tank, filling the entire courtyard.

“So, it’s a fresh, tender large lobster!” Chu Feng remarked with an unusual expression, staring at him.

“What do you want to do?” Xia Lan’s body tensed. He was keenly aware of a bad feeling and cried out, “The sparring is over! I’ve lost!”

“You yourself said that fatalities and injuries are unavoidable during sparring. What do you think I’ll do?” As Chu Feng spoke, he raised his hand, and energy beams emanated from his palm and fingers. With a *thud*, he sliced the large lobster into two halves.

“Ah...” Xia Lan shrieked. Its vitality was tenacious; even with its lower half severed, it wouldn’t die immediately. With a look of horror, it pleaded, “Brother Chu, you should consider the consequences. We have no enmity. How about we just let this matter go?”

“It’s too late. I offered you a suggestion earlier. Since we’ve already started, there’s no turning back!” Chu Feng said. He knew that even if he let Xia Lan go, the lobster would bear a grudge. Rather than that, it was better to simply kill it.

Xia Lan was utterly terrified. In his sea domain, wielding that bead, he was invincible and rarely met his match. Was he truly going to die here today?

“What are you waiting for? Get to work!” Chu Feng looked at Xiong Kun, Hu Sheng, and the others.

“Huh?!” They were puzzled.

“Clean it up, steam it, stir-fry it, and make some porridge for me. And get some good wine! Wouldn’t it be a waste not to eat such a large lobster?!” Chu Feng said, suggesting three ways to prepare it.

Xiong Kun, Hu Sheng, and Lu Qing’s scalps tingled, and their hair stood on end. They truly witnessed how formidable the Demon King Chu was. This was a king-level creature, and he was just going to eat it?

“Is... is this wise?” Hu Sheng, being cautious, couldn’t help but ask quietly. He knew this was a creature from the ocean; offending them could have unpredictable consequences.

Chu Feng said coldly, “What’s wrong with it? If I let it go, will it remember my kindness? It’ll be even more eager for revenge. Since it’s unavoidable, then eat it!”

Not far away, Ma Kuo and Qi Teng watched everything unfold, nearly fainting from fright. They finally understood what kind of terrifying person they had provoked.

This was truly terrifying!

That was a king-level powerhouse, and the Demon King Chu was ready to eat him on a whim!

Ma Kuo and Qi Teng shivered, their faces deathly pale.

“God Chu, this is a serious matter!” Lu Qing, a female from the Five-Colored Deer tribe, was the most timid and worried about the terrible repercussions.

Hu Sheng quietly added, “Even a major power like the Qin Research Institute will be displeased.”

“I’m the one who should be displeased!” Chu Feng’s eyes flashed with cold electricity. “A few juniors from the Qin Research Institute dare to plot against me? This matter isn’t over yet. If they don’t give me an explanation, I’ll pay a visit to the Qin Research Institute. I want to ask if this is the attitude of those old geezers?!”

On the ground, Ma Kuo and Qi Teng heard this and were chilled to the bone. They thought their own punishment would be enough, never imagining they had stirred up such a huge disaster, shaking the heavens!

“God Chu, we were wrong! Please punish us if you’re displeased. Don’t make a big deal out of this!” both cried out simultaneously.

“You two aren’t worthy. Have the person who can truly make decisions at the Qin Research Institute come see me!” Chu Feng said indifferently.

He decided to use this incident to establish his authority, to make some major powers understand that they shouldn’t be accustomed to being condescending and overly domineering. Did they truly believe that if they offered an olive branch, Chu Feng would just accept? He would give them an unforgettable lesson!

“Today, I’ve killed a member of the sea race. Let the Qin Research Institute handle the aftermath. If they don’t resolve it properly, I don’t mind paying them a visit myself!” Chu Feng declared.

The trouble had originally been stirred up by Qi Sheng from the Qin Research Institute, who wanted to use Bailong, an expert from the sea race, to deal with him. Now, Chu Feng was going to kill and eat this king-level sea creature, letting the Qin Research Institute deal with the headache.

“No!” Xia Lan shrieked in despair.

However, Xiong Kun, Hu Sheng, and the others, having received their orders, completely ignored him. They decisively drew their knives, cut open the lobster shell, and began extracting the translucent lobster meat.

Soon, the enticing aroma of fresh seafood wafted through the area, accompanied by the rich scent of wine.
