Chapter 21: Powerful Bull Demon Fist

Chu Feng stood there like a log, his eyes wide with astonishment, staring at the yellow ox practicing boxing in the courtyard. This fellow... was truly amazing!

The yellow ox stood on its hind legs, steady yet nimble. When it changed its footwork, it moved with both speed and grace, completely unlike a typical ox.

Chu Feng watched from the side, deeply surprised.

The yellow ox glanced at him but didn't stop. Its face was filled with pride, an indescribable arrogance. It intensified its punches, making them incredibly powerful and intimidating in an instant.

Its body was agile; one moment it was like a roc swooping down on its prey, its punches generating strong winds, diving with an unstoppable, awe-inspiring might. The next moment, it was like a gluttonous beast devouring the heavens, incomparably fierce, with the rumble of thunder deafening the ears, radiating a formidable presence.

Chu Feng was startled. The yellow ox's boxing style was somewhat terrifying; even without direct experience, he knew it was incredibly formidable.

The yellow ox, full of self-satisfaction, continued to practice its boxing, becoming even more extraordinary. However, when it glanced at Chu Feng again, its expression froze as it realized Chu Feng's hands were empty; he hadn't brought the communicator back.

It immediately stopped punching and ignored Chu Feng, being quite pragmatic.

Chu Feng was still puzzled, "Why did it stop?" He hadn't seen enough; that boxing style was truly extraordinary.

Initially, he was somewhat bewildered, unsure why the ox had given up. But upon closer observation, seeing the yellow ox's shifty eyes stealthily glancing at him, as if confirming something, he instantly understood.

This fellow was indeed still thinking about the communicator!

"Yellow Ox, I picked out the latest model communicator for you; it looks very high-end and sophisticated. But I didn't bring enough cash earlier, so I'll go get some more and buy it for you right away."

The yellow ox perked up its ears, and after hearing him finish, it immediately grinned, breaking into a silent, joyful laugh – a rare moment of happiness rather than mockery.

Chu Feng muttered to himself, *This stubborn ox is so pragmatic.*

At the same time, the yellow ox pretended to resume its punching, making a couple of gestures, and finally exhaled a puff of white breath, signaling completion, essentially giving itself an excuse to save face.

Chu Feng was quite speechless. *Was that really necessary? It had already stopped punching, yet it forced a 'finishing move'?*

However, seeing the yellow ox's composed demeanor, he pretended not to notice anything either.

"Moo!"

Seeing him standing there motionless, the yellow ox mooed directly, actually starting to urge him on.

Without another word, Chu Feng turned and left, heading straight for a secondhand shop about half a *li* away. As he entered, he called out, "Uncle Liu, sell me your oldest, cheapest communicator."

"Little Chu, when did you get back?" Uncle Liu adjusted his thick reading glasses, smiling as he looked at Chu Feng.

"A few days ago. Long time no see, Uncle Liu, how's your health?" Chu Feng greeted him with a smile.

"I'm fine. But why do you want an old communicator? Don't young people nowadays prefer new models?" Uncle Liu asked, puzzled.

"I have a use for it. It doesn't matter if the functions are outdated, but its appearance must be new!" Chu Feng emphasized.

"Even though this is a secondhand shop, old communicators are hard to sell, so I don't have many," Uncle Liu explained.

He rummaged through boxes and cabinets and finally found a few. These items rarely sold; unless a very few nostalgic people bought them for collection, they had little value.

Chu Feng immediately spotted a bulky one that still looked very new. Apart from the screen, the rest of it was silvery-white and shiny.

"That's the one!"

"Little Chu, I must say, although this one looks new, its functions are clearly inferior to the others," Uncle Liu said.

"It's fine, this is perfect. As long as it looks new, that's enough!" Chu Feng decided on it.

Uncle Liu was a bit speechless but didn't say much more.

Finally, when Chu Feng was about to pay, he waved his hand and said, "Never mind. This old thing just takes up space here anyway. Just take it as a gift."

"Alright then, Uncle Liu. Next time, I'll bring you a good bottle of wine," Chu Feng said, not standing on ceremony.

"Oh, right, Little Chu. A while back, before you returned, a few young people came to town. When they passed by here, I think I heard them say they were looking for you."

Uncle Liu mentioned this as Chu Feng was about to leave.

He was startled. Who would be looking for him? If they were classmates or friends, they should have contacted him first.

"Those young people didn't look ordinary, and one of the girls was very beautiful," Uncle Liu said, sharing what he had seen.

Chu Feng left with a puzzled mind, truly unable to guess who might have been looking for him.

"Yellow Ox, look! I brought you back a high-end, sophisticated communicator, better than the one I use myself!" Chu Feng shouted as soon as he entered the courtyard.

The yellow ox dashed over with a whoosh, still on its hind legs, and directly snatched the communicator with its two front hooves, cradling it.

It glanced at its brand-new, silvery-white communicator, then at the one Chu Feng was using, and immediately showed disdain, baring its teeth in a mocking grin.

"You're so ungrateful! I bought you the most high-end one, and you still despise me? Never mind, I'm generous, I won't argue with you. Quick, teach me how to practice that boxing style," Chu Feng said.

The yellow ox ignored him, placed the communicator on the stone table, and its front hooves, glowing with a faint golden light, started poking at it erratically.

Finally, it grew angry because it couldn't get it to start!

It turned to Chu Feng, white smoke puffing from its nostrils, questioning him.

"It's not charged yet," Chu Feng said leisurely. He had remained silent while it frantically poked, only speaking slowly now.

"Moo!"

The yellow ox carefully picked up the brand-new, high-end communicator and very cautiously handed it to Chu Feng, gesturing for him to charge it.

When it saw Chu Feng carelessly toss the silvery-white communicator onto the desk in the room and casually yank a power cord to plug it in, its eyes nearly popped out of its head.

Its expression clearly meant, *Be careful, don't break my fancy gadget!* At the same time, it didn't forget to cast another disdainful glance at Chu Feng's own device.

While it was charging, the yellow ox began to poke at it again, but ultimately, it became frustrated. After all, it didn't understand the language or recognize the characters. Although very interested, it faced too many obstacles in using it.

When he saw it approach, grunting, Chu Feng took a long time to roughly figure out what it meant.

"What do you want to do, put my contacts in your communicator? Get lost, as far away as you can go!" Chu Feng's temper flared, remembering what had happened last time.

The yellow ox was very interested in the device's ability to communicate with people over long distances, but Chu Feng could never agree to that.

Since that wish couldn't be fulfilled, it had Chu Feng teach it how to watch video reports.

"If you learn to read, everything will be simple. Talking, watching videos, browsing text reports—all will be no problem," Chu Feng patiently explained, a plan he had considered early on.

Indeed, the yellow ox nodded. It had come to this world with a purpose, and it felt that if it could recognize the local script and have a communicator, things would be much more convenient.

"You teach me boxing, I'll teach you to read," Chu Feng said with a grin.

The yellow ox glared at him, letting out a few moos, as if to say, *You planned this all along!*

"Overall, this will benefit you too. The world is about to become turbulent. I'm just trying to protect myself. Only by surviving can I help you find that peculiar small tree in Kunlun," Chu Feng stated.

The yellow ox extended a front hoof, pointed at him, and finally, with wide ox eyes, nodded, signaling a mutual compromise.

For three consecutive days, Chu Feng practiced boxing. However, the first stance of this boxing style was very difficult to master; each movement had to generate a terrifying force.

He had previously learned Sanda and was skilled, but this new boxing style was completely different. With each swing, he could feel a strange power covering his fists.

Especially when the yellow ox instructed him to swing his fist while trying that breathing technique, it became even more extraordinary; occasionally, his fists would emit a dull thunderous sound.

Chu Feng was pleasantly surprised and utterly engrossed.

Over these few days, the yellow ox learned quite a few characters and proved to be very intelligent. This was precisely why Chu Feng didn't dare to teach it too much, feigning the need for consolidation. He feared that once the ox learned enough, it would renege on its deal and stop teaching him boxing.

During these three days, Zhou Quan, the fatty in the county town, was practically going insane.

This was because Zhou Quan was currently the only contact in the yellow ox's communicator, which Chu Feng had entered for it. For three days, whenever the ox remembered, it would call the fatty.

Sometimes it was noon, sometimes midnight, and sometimes at dawn. Whenever it was idle, it would poke a few times, call the fatty, and moo at him.

"Aaaaaah... Ox King, I'm going to kill you sooner or later! It's bad enough that you call me in the middle of the night, but now again? It's almost dawn, and I just fell asleep. I can't take this anymore!"

Zhou Quan was losing his mind, harassed day and night by the yellow ox.

However, he couldn't always turn off his communicator. Recently, the world had been in turmoil, and some of his relatives and friends were not nearby and hadn't returned, so he frequently needed to contact them.

"I'm warning you, if you harass me again, I'll really stew you alive next time!" Zhou Quan fumed.

However, the yellow ox revelled in it. Every time Zhou Quan jumped with rage, the ox found it immensely amusing; it had become its mischievous pleasure.

Therefore, Zhou Quan's warnings were completely useless.

"Chu Feng, look what you've done! Ox King, I want to eat you alive, aaaaaah..."

Zhou Quan was on the verge of tears.

By the fourth day, the yellow ox had learned a fair number of characters. At Chu Feng's request, it wrote down the name of the boxing style.

Although the characters were crooked, they were still legible.

"Great Strength Ox Demon Fist," Chu Feng read aloud.

The yellow ox was arrogant, holding its head high with nostrils flared, immensely proud of this boxing style, as if saying, *This is a truly magnificent martial art.*

"That name is incredibly cheesy," Chu Feng said.

"Moo!"

The yellow ox was furious. With a roar, it made the room tremble slightly.

"You guard the house, I'm going out for a bit." Chu Feng slipped out of the house. He was going to Uncle Zhao San's place to pick up the crossbow arrows, which should be sharpened by now.

Uncle Zhao San's weapon workshop was bustling with people because, with the strange changes happening everywhere, everyone wanted to buy some weapons for self-defense.

"Little Chu, you're here! I've had them ready for you for a while; if you hadn't come, I would have sent them over myself," Uncle Zhao San said, a tall man with stiff short hair and a booming voice, laughing heartily.

"Thank you, Uncle Zhao San." Chu Feng smiled, picking up the package, which felt quite heavy.

On the way, as he passed the secondhand shop, Uncle Liu greeted him and said, "Little Chu, those young people from last time are back, but a few are missing. They've gone to your house."

Chu Feng was surprised. Who could it be? With roads severed and strange phenomena appearing frequently everywhere, who would dare to travel long distances? He felt a deep sense of doubt.
