After Kunlun Mountain's revival, the terrain outside was expansive, like a natural battlefield. The soil was reddish-brown, and large creatures frequently moved in and out of the mountains. This open area outside had long been trampled as hard as rock, dotted only by a few sparse ancient trees.
"Be careful not to reveal your full strength," the Yellow Ox whispered from behind as he chased along, cautioning Chu Feng not to act recklessly. After all, old monsters like the Old Lion, the Black Dragon King, and Schiller were terrifying. If they were targeted, the outcome would likely be grim.
Chu Feng's long hair shone like crystals. He wasn't among the first to rush down the mountain, but he was now quickly moving to the front, eager to start a fight immediately.
"Keep a low profile!" the Great Black Ox panted as he rushed forward, finally pushing through the crowd to grab Chu Feng and whisper another warning. There were many people at the mountain pass, blocking the way, otherwise he and the Yellow Ox would likely have lost track of Chu Feng.
"I know," Chu Feng nodded. He understood that this battle would be fierce, and some powerful individuals might well bleed and die here.
The Kunlun kings led their people out of the mountains. Opposite them was a dense, dark mass: the Eastern Expeditionary Army. Thousands strong, a menacing combination of humans and other species, their figures indistinct and their scales glinting. These were no ordinary soldiers; they were all powerful extraordinary humans and beasts, and so many had arrived at once! In terms of numbers alone, the Eastern Expeditionary Army held a clear advantage over Kunlun Mountain.
"Oh my God, what am I seeing? A Western dragon! And over there... giants! So many races close to divinity, it's like entering a mythical realm!" A blonde, blue-eyed female reporter gasped, her face showing fear, but quickly replaced by excitement and eagerness.
"Shut up, don't scream!" someone reprimanded the female reporter. This area was on the flank of the battlefield, away from the main Eastern and Western armies, and currently a relatively safe zone, where intelligence officers and reporters from various countries had gathered. These individuals had risked their lives to come to Kunlun, all hoping to obtain firsthand information. The great battle between East and West was drawing worldwide attention, with all nations watching closely!
A somber atmosphere settled over the battlefield. Both sides fell silent; no one shouted anymore. The Eastern Expeditionary Army was vast, featuring fiery-red lizards dozens of meters long, knights in shining armor, unicorns as white as jade, and beautiful women with flowing golden hair. The Eastern Expeditionary Army was teeming with powerful beings; most had taken human form, while a smaller portion revealed their true bodies, forming a dark, oppressive mass, like storm clouds gathering before a torrential downpour. This atmosphere was oppressive and unsettling!
"There are so many powerful beings!" Even though the Kunlun side was mentally prepared, people couldn't help but show astonishment. The Kunlun kings and their invited reinforcements all looked solemn. The Eastern Expeditionary Army was stronger than they had anticipated, no wonder they were so confident.
"There are at least one or two hundred king-level beings!" the Great Black Ox sighed, feeling overwhelmed. A bloody, fierce battle was inevitable. Fortunately, they had invited many Eastern powerhouses, bringing numerous reinforcements; otherwise, Kunlun Mountain's forces alone would certainly not have been able to resist.
At the very front of the dark, dense army opposite, there was a long line of king-level powerhouses, all emitting astonishing and incredibly terrifying energy fluctuations. Among them, the central figures were the most striking; it was impossible not to notice them because their auras were so terrifying. The entire battlefield had fallen silent precisely because of them.
The Black Dragon King stood with his hands clasped behind his back, his black hair cascading like a waterfall, his eyes like lightning, sweeping across the sky, surveying all heroes with disdain. He possessed this confidence because he was a dragon, a creature far surpassing ordinary races. Evolved to its peak, it was said to be comparable to gods, with unparalleled combat strength!
The Arctic King had white hair and a rugged appearance, but the chill in his eyes sent shivers down one's spine. Without a doubt, he could look down upon all other kings. An old man with a full head of thick golden hair was particularly eye-catching, as his entire body glowed, emitting light golden qi and blood that surged skyward, intimidating all the kings. The entire battlefield was under his terrifying pressure. Without any introduction, people instantly recognized him: this had to be the Old Lion King! Everyone fell silent. This old lion was renowned as an invincible master, and it seemed he was indeed terrifying to the extreme.
Van Lin, an ancient yoga master from India, had translucent skin and a bald head, appearing like a divine monk from an earlier era. His entire body glowed with a solemn and majestic aura, and faintly, a divine halo could be seen behind his head, like a deity from legend. People gasped. This was a manifestation of ancient yoga and Indian martial arts cultivated to the extreme—this was absolutely a terrifyingly powerful master.
Beside Van Lin was the Old Vampire King, with gleaming golden hair and a perfectly tailored suit. He looked utterly unlike someone participating in a battle, refined and scholarly, with a gentle smile. However, any powerful individual could sense the terrifying aura within him; he had once consumed the blood of powerful beings from various races, and his killing intent was extremely heavy!
Schiller also arrived. Known as the King of the Vatican and the instigator of this conflict, he stood there peacefully, devoid of joy or sorrow. Yet, his presence made even a peerless master like the Mastiff King adopt a solemn expression. This was because the Mastiff King sensed a brilliant, sun-like force of light within the human body of this person, who was hailed as the last knight. In addition, there was also a terrifying dark force, a single individual possessing two completely opposing energies. These were the pillars of the Eastern Expeditionary Army, six peerless masters who had broken through six layers of shackles. They stood side by side at the very front, like six insurmountable mountains, majestic and immense, suffocating those who beheld them!
"Kings of Kunlun Mountain, in recent days, we have not seized the opportunity to attack the mountain, nor have we launched a night raid. This is sufficient proof of our sincerity." A king from the Western faction stepped forward, his voice booming and echoing throughout the mountain range. This was a human with bronze skin and long brown hair. He was burly, carried a golden war spear on his back, and his large, bell-like eyes gleamed with a cold light as he spoke loudly. His name was Kunto. Language was not a barrier; many on this battlefield were proficient in both Eastern and Western tongues.
From the Kunlun side, the Horse King stepped out. He was over three meters tall, even more imposing, with a large bald head and piercing eyes, a truly fierce presence. The Horse King sneered, "You speak with such righteousness, as if you are acting honorably, but you were merely waiting for Schiller, the Old Lion, and others to arrive."
"If you don't believe it, then so be it. In that case, how about we have a straightforward and honorable battle?" Kunto said, issuing a challenge. Not far away, the Black Dragon King, the Old Lion, and others remained silent, their presence like mountains, their aura immensely powerful, without making any statement.
"It's obvious this was orchestrated by the six peerless powerhouses, including the Old Lion and Schiller. They want to gauge the strength of the Eastern powerhouses first." A king-level powerhouse on the Kunlun side whispered. The Horse King glanced at the Mastiff King, seeking his opinion. The Mastiff King nodded. They also wanted to assess the strength of the Western forces.
Chu Feng was so hungry his stomach felt glued to his back, desperate to rush out and fight. However, seeing that Kunto was just a human, he was quite disappointed and didn't compete with the Horse King for the fight. Both moved very quickly, rushing out and immediately engaging in battle.
Kunto was extremely powerful, a formidable individual who had broken four layers of shackles. He was renowned among Western human masters, second only to Schiller, Augustus, and others. Wielding his spear, which emitted lightning-like flashes, he caused great trouble for the Horse King. As they fought, sand and stones flew, and the earth cracked. Kunto's spear thrust, accompanied by blinding electrical light, was intensely bright, like an exploding sun. The Horse King struck the shaft from the side with his palm, creating a deafening sound. The Horse King's palm was exceptionally hard. He had once trained with an old lama, learning the Tantric Mahamudra, making his palm as tough as divine metal, impervious to missile explosions. The two battled fiercely, intertwined like two beams of light, moving incredibly fast.
"Who among you of similar rank will fight me?" Just then, another figure emerged from the Eastern Expeditionary Army's ranks: a woman in black. She appeared beautiful but carried a chilling aura. "The Black Widow!" someone whispered, recognizing her origin: a powerful being evolved from a spider.
"I'll face you!" From the Kunlun side, a beautiful woman in palace attire stepped out, her green hair flowing. Equally beautiful, she was King Pan from the Silk-Spinning Cave, also evolved from a spider. Their encounter was like a needle point against an awn, a battle between members of the same species! In the battlefield, white light crisscrossed as terrifying webs, highly corrosive, shot between them. Where they landed, the ground collapsed and blackened. These webs could destroy divine weapons and sharp blades.
Bang, bang, bang... They clashed, locked in a fierce struggle.
Another individual emerged from the Western side; this time, a red-haired man, evolved from an old scorpion, whose strength was unfathomable. He strode forward. Chu Feng grew anxious. Why were all the opponents either humans or poisonous insects? None were edible. He was so hungry his heart pounded, desperate to make a move. A powerful individual invited from outside by Kunlun strode forward to meet the old scorpion.
One after another, individuals emerged from both the Eastern and Western factions, engaging in fierce battles in the open mountain terrain. A total of eight pairs of powerhouses were clashing! Chu Feng's eyes glowed green. There were one or two suitable targets, but he was a step too late; others had already claimed them. It wasn't until the tenth opponent appeared from the other side that he decided to act!
This opponent was a Bird King, soaring with outstretched wings, emitting dazzling light as if shrouded in a splendid curtain of radiance. It was very powerful. Chu Feng darted forward with a whoosh, deliberately suppressing his speed to conceal his true strength, moving at only twice the speed of sound. Even so, sand and stones flew, and sonic booms echoed continuously.
At that moment, blood was shed again on the battlefield, as several pairs of combatants reached a decisive outcome, resulting in casualties. The Horse King was struck by a spear, which pierced his right chest, splattering blood. A look of pain appeared on his face; his injury was severe. But at that moment, his right hand, as large as a millstone, had already slammed towards his opponent, appearing reddish and enveloping the area in front, as if performing a divine ability. Kunto took a heavy blow. Though he avoided his head, his shoulder was instantly deformed, bones shattered and tendons torn, sending him flying sideways.
In the Western faction, many king-level beings were shocked, knowing Kunto's formidable and unfathomable strength. He had once confidently sought to challenge the undefeated Golden Lion of his rank but missed the opportunity due to other matters. Both sustained heavy injuries and were unable to continue fighting, resulting in a draw. In fact, the Kunlun side was equally startled. The Horse King's combat strength was extremely high, and he was very famous on the Kunlun side, especially after training with the old lama, his strength had advanced by leaps and bounds. Even such a formidable individual was injured, nearly defeated, which showed the opponent's strength.
"Thud!" Another pair of combatants determined their victor: the Black Widow's head fell to the ground, and she transformed into a large black spider, lying dead on the battlefield. Thud, thud, thud! Almost simultaneously, battles between several other groups of powerhouses concluded. On the Kunlun side, three had died, and two had emerged victorious! This was the battlefield, brutal and unforgiving. King-level beings fought fiercely, and a single mistake could lead to bleeding and defeat.
It was precisely at this moment that Chu Feng burst onto the battlefield and engaged the Bird King. With a bang, he showed no courtesy, leaping up and throwing a punch skyward. The force was astonishing, mysterious energy surged, and the sound was deafening. The Bird King was incredibly fast, flapping its wings at an extremely high frequency. After dodging swiftly, it began to circle Chu Feng, attacking him.
Crack! Chu Feng raised his left hand and pressed down forcefully. Arcs of electricity shot out. He didn't want to waste time; he wanted to deal with this prey immediately. He was so hungry he was seeing stars. Although he was suppressing his power, the moment the lightning appeared, it instantly shocked the Bird King, making all its feathers stand on end. Unable to dodge, it plummeted to the ground with a thud. Chu Feng grabbed it and, in a flash, disappeared towards Kunlun Mountain.
What just happened? Everyone was stunned, staring at his retreating back. Initially, people hadn't paid much attention to their skirmish because it had just started and seemed unremarkable. Their focus was on the larger battles where casualties were already appearing. However, in that brief moment of distraction, this fight had already ended.
"Oh, did you catch that figure just now? How did the battle end so quickly?" In the distance, intelligence officers and reporters stood dumbfounded, complaining incessantly.
"Why do I feel like that person looks a lot like Chu Feng?" someone exclaimed, as the slowed-down replay showed a profile shot of the person, remarkably similar to Demon King Chu.
"No way?!" A commotion arose. If it really was Chu Feng, it would undoubtedly cause a huge stir, as everyone knew he had died.
On the Kunlun side, many kings were speechless, watching Chu Feng run off with the Bird King. They truly didn't know what to say. At that moment, his eyes were burning with intense excitement, as if he were carrying a beautiful bride and running wildly, afraid someone would snatch her away.
On the Western side, some also grew suspicious. "What just happened? How did that battle end so quickly? Was that kid a Bird King himself? Why did he look like he'd just snatched his beloved? That expression was utterly twisted, his eyes were glowing green!"
"It seems the Hummingbird King should be spared; he likely won't be killed. That kid looked at it as if he were looking at a priceless treasure." Someone on the Western side whispered. These individuals felt slightly relieved, thinking the Hummingbird King would be fine.
However, not long after, a commotion arose from the Kunlun Mountain side. Someone was starting a fire, and others were suggesting that honey should be basted on the wings when roasting poultry, offering various advice. "Wait a minute, what's happening over there? Something's not right!" Some on the Western side were surprised and peered in that direction.
"Damn it, no, someone's going to roast the Hummingbird King!"
"What?!" On the Western side, some kings were utterly shocked.
On the Kunlun Mountain side, even some king-level beings felt dizzy. That Demon King Chu really knew how to stir things up. A fierce battle was raging in the mountains, yet he was behind the lines, starting a fire and roasting a Bird King with others. This was truly so unconventional that it left people speechless, like a "fresh mudslide"—an unexpectedly bizarre turn of events!
