Chapter 179: One Man Guards the Pass

The Vulture King scoffed, "He's only broken one genetic lock, yet he has the audacity to come to the West and cause trouble. Such a person is simply asking for death. We'll kill as many as come; there's no suspense."

The Jackal King also spoke, his words dismissive of Chu Feng. "What is he? In a fair fight, I could easily brutalize him!" He then smiled at the Golden Lion, adding, "It's better if he dies. If a powerful king like you, Brother Lion, were to personally kill him, it would only diminish your status and stain your hands unnecessarily."

It was the Jackal King who had originally provoked the Golden Lion into action, leading to their confrontation with Chu Feng and his companions in the Sacred Medicine Garden.

In the mountains, the trees were not dense, but they were exceptionally lush. Some pine trees had incredibly robust branches, twisting and winding across the landscape like coiling dragons.

The Golden Lion, with his tall and imposing physique, stepped steadily on a thick carpet of pine needles. His eyes glowed like bolts of lightning, and he exuded immense vitality. Within his body, a vast, ocean-like energy lay dormant, containing terrifying power. Even the slightest emanation of this energy would double the pressure on those nearby.

This group constituted a formidable force: three king-level beings and seven quasi-kings. If they were to reach Kunlun Mountain, they would undoubtedly be a powerful reinforcement.

A millstone-sized rock blocked their path, but the Vulture King kicked it aside effortlessly, sending it flying into the distant forest.

They had all assumed human form now, standing and gazing at the misty area ahead. They were not far from the gorge passage.

"Once we pass through this misty gorge, we'll be on Eastern soil, not far from Kunlun. I'm really looking forward to conquering that deep mountain soon," the Jackal King said, his laughter grating.

"East, I've arrived!" declared the Golden Lion. Influenced by the Old Lion, he had long coveted the East, his eyes burning with eagerness, wishing he could instantly charge forward.

The Jackal King flattered him, "Apart from experts who have broken six genetic locks, who can stop you, Brother Lion? When the time comes, you'll sweep everything away. Once the Eastern campaign succeeds and we establish a foothold in Kunlun, we can conquer even more famous mountains!"

The Golden Lion nodded, his gaze cold. "The Land of Ten Thousand Gods must be taken. Anyone who obstructs me will be killed. That is the foundation for our future divinity!" Clearly, they viewed Kunlun as a transcendent holy land, even speaking of achieving godhood there.

"If possible, we will advance further east and conquer the Land of Fengchan!" The Golden Lion spoke with a smile that was chilling, golden beams of light shooting from his pupils.

"Conquer the Land of Ten Thousand Gods, seize the Land of Fengchan!" shouted some of the quasi-kings from behind, their faces alight with excitement and longing, for then they too could evolve alongside them.

The group stepped into the mist, heading towards the gorge. It was at this moment that a figure emerged from the mist, walking towards them, less than ten *li* away.

"Someone's there!" The Golden Lion was exceptionally perceptive. Even in the strange, vision-obscuring mist, he sensed a presence, and light flickered in his eyes.

Chu Feng made no attempt to conceal his aura, striding purposefully forward. He, too, had sensed a group of people approaching from the opposite direction.

"Could it be that the guardians of the passage know we're here and have come specifically to greet us?" the Jackal King wondered aloud. He had nothing to worry about; with the Black Dragon King and the Arctic King leading the vanguard and threatening Kunlun Mountain in the East, who would dare to challenge them and brazenly appear behind their lines? Moreover, walking with the Golden Lion, he had no fear of encountering other powerful beings along the way; anyone who dared to obstruct them would simply be seeking death.

"Yes, I've come to welcome you," Chu Feng replied with a smile, his voice carrying across several *li*. He used his Divine Footwork, taking calm and regular steps, yet each footfall landed dozens of meters away, bringing him closer swiftly.

"Who is that? The voice sounds familiar," the Jackal King mused, puzzled.

Before long, Chu Feng was close. He hadn't broken the sound barrier, but he arrived calmly, observing the group through the white mist.

"How can it be you!" the Jackal King shrieked. Instantly, goosebumps prickled his skin, and his scalp tightened. What was happening? How could a dead man reappear?

"Heaven couldn't take me, so naturally, I remain in this world," Chu Feng said calmly.

"The missile attack on the Vatican—that couldn't have been you, could it?" the Jackal King exclaimed. Having become a king, his intuition was sharp, and he made the connection immediately.

As he thought further, his hair stood on end, and he felt a deep sense of dread. Not just him, even the Golden Lion's pupils contracted sharply. Discovering Chu Feng alive today was a tremendous shock to them.

"That's right, I set off the fireworks in the Vatican. Tit for tat," Chu Feng said with a bright smile, making no attempt to hide it, "sharing" his joy and sense of accomplishment with them.

The expressions on all their faces instantly changed. The news was truly appalling! They trembled. The shocking incident had actually been carried out by Chu Feng, from the East. If this became known, it would shake the entire world.

The Jackal King, the Vulture King, and the quasi-kings behind them were all stunned, their minds reeling. A boundless surge of terror rose within them; they were nearly petrified. Everyone had believed him dead, yet he had quietly acted, turning the world upside down! The most terrifying thing was that the world still didn't know he was responsible. What else did he plan to do? This was chilling. Chu Feng, the Demon King, was lurking in the shadows, clearly planning many more major moves, causing intense unease in their hearts. In an instant, this group thought of many things!

"Ovid and the White Bear—they weren't killed by you too, were they?" the Vulture King asked.

"Yes!" Chu Feng admitted frankly.

The group was terrified. He was the one who had roasted the White Bear King? The so-called Great God of Jerusalem was actually Chu Feng, the Demon King! If this got out, it would be a world-shattering, explosive piece of news, headlining reports in every country!

A crimson glow burst forth, and Chu Feng's flying sword shot out like a red蛟龍. It severed the hand and communicator of a quasi-king, which clattered to the ground. "Ah..." the man screamed. He had tried to send a message to the outside world, to reveal the astonishing secret here, because it was too shocking. Everyone worldwide was discussing those two sensational cases; who could have imagined they were the work of a supposedly dead man?

"Just you, alone, dreaming of ambushing us?" The Jackal King's eyes flashed with a cold light. He was deeply shocked and furious, his hostility towards Chu Feng intense.

Chu Feng merely smiled, saying nothing. But this was indeed his purpose: to eliminate these reinforcements and deter the Eastern expeditionary force!

"Arrogant!" the Jackal King sneered.

"Then come and try!" Chu Feng stepped forward. This Jackal King had been targeting him ever since the Vatican incident. Now that they met again, there was nothing more to say but to send him on his way.

"With the Lion King here, how dare you act so brazenly!" The Jackal King's confidence wavered. He genuinely didn't dare to engage. Even the White Bear had been roasted; for him to charge forward would be a pointless death.

"Didn't you always want to kill me? Why are you retreating now?" Chu Feng pressed closer.

The Jackal King's face changed, and he instinctively stepped back. Behind him, the quasi-kings exchanged strange looks. Not long ago, the Jackal King had been so arrogant, dismissing Chu Feng as nothing and claiming he could easily brutalize him in a fair fight, yet now he himself was retreating.

The Golden Lion, who had remained calm until now, finally moved. He strode forward, showing no fear. On the contrary, he wore a look of madness, his gaze burning. His body radiated a terrifying aura, and his energy fluctuations were incredibly powerful!

"Excellent! You're not dead. This is the best gift heaven could give me. I'll tear you to shreds with my own hands!" the Golden Lion declared, his immense vital energy surging and dominating the area.

However, Chu Feng was utterly fearless. "First, let me settle my score with the Jackal King. I'll deal with you later!" he said.

The next moment, he moved, charging forward directly at the Jackal King.

"You..." The Jackal King was horrified. He dared not confront Chu Feng, sensing he was no match for him now, and fled backward at top speed.

At the same time, the Golden Lion struck. A thunderous roar erupted, and an ocean-like burst of golden light exploded from him, surging forward to kill Chu Feng.

Chu Feng briefly parried a strike from the Golden Lion, then, without changing direction, continued his pursuit of the Jackal King.

"How dare you!" The Golden Lion's gaze turned icy. Chu Feng's audacity in trying to bypass him to kill someone else was truly insolent.

"Why not?" Chu Feng retorted, breaking the sound barrier as he pursued. His speed was far superior to the Jackal King's, and in a blink, he caught up in the forest.

The Jackal King's blood ran cold. He hadn't expected Chu Feng to bypass the Golden Lion and directly chase him down. This was too aggressive and domineering; Chu Feng's strength had significantly surpassed his previous level.

He roared, fighting Chu Feng with all his might, hoping to hold out until the Golden Lion arrived to brutally kill Chu Feng, the Demon King.

However, with just one exchange, the Jackal King's face changed, turning ashen. After his palm was struck by a punch, it first cracked, then bled, and finally shattered. "Ah..." the Jackal King howled in extreme pain. He never imagined he would be so severely wounded with just a single contact. How strong was this Demon King Chu? He was completely panicked!

In his perception, the current Chu Feng might be no weaker than the Golden Lion, perhaps even stronger.

*Thud! Thud! Thud!*

Chu Feng launched a furious assault, determined to kill the Jackal King. In an instant, his punch aura blazed fiercely, like a sun streaking across the sky, illuminating the entire forest.

The Jackal King shrieked. Both of his arms were completely shattered, and he vomited blood, his body sent flying sideways, crashing through large sections of the forest and massive rocks.

"How dare you!" The Golden Lion roared in fury, charging forward to block Chu Feng.

Behind them, the group watched in shock. In just a few blows, the Jackal King was clearly finished. His arms had turned into a bloody mist, his shoulder had exploded, and one leg had been severed. What immense power was that? The others were horrified!

The Golden Lion charged forward, but it was too late. Chu Feng's punches were too powerful, delivering blow after blow! The Jackal King was nearing despair, evading with all his might, and when he couldn't dodge, he tried to parry, but he still couldn't hold out long enough for the Golden Lion to save him.

Chu Feng's punch pierced through him, and the Jackal King let out a final, piercing shriek before exploding in mid-air, his body torn into pieces.

Those behind them trembled! Chu Feng had killed a king-level being right in front of the Golden Lion, sending shivers down everyone else's spines, making their backs run cold.
