Chapter 1341: Heaven

Above the heavens, there exists another realm entirely, not the so-called Heavens.

The so-called Heavens is a legendary place, steeped in endless blood and myth, transcending all. To the progenitor of the envoy clan, that realm is too enigmatic and incredibly terrifying.

Unfortunately, even someone as mighty as the clan's progenitor could not enter. They were merely tasked with guarding a path and watching as those truly capable of ascending to the heavens departed.

"What else?" Chu Feng asked, dissatisfied. He looked down at the Vajra Bangle in his hand, where in its inner ring, shimmering lights imprisoned a thumb-length, trembling soul-light.

"The Heavens cannot be reached by anyone less than the strongest being of an entire civilization's history. And all who have gone there have undergone strange transformations."

"Furthermore, the Heavens are quite sinister. Some say it is vibrant with life, while others describe it as utterly desolate, containing only the dust of time. Some claim it's the source of all anomalies, and others believe it's the ancient end of the Netherworld, with even the Path of Reincarnation extending from it. Still others suggest that a single speck of dead dust falling from the Heavens can create an entire grand realm. It is far more mysterious and magnificent than we can imagine, or perhaps, simply terrifying!"

The envoy's soul-light trembled, attempting to relay as much valuable information as possible.

Chu Feng declared, "I wouldn't go to such a wretched place even if invited!"

What had he heard? A place both enigmatic and dangerous, clearly not somewhere pleasant. It sounded like a cursed land; the farther away, the better!

Then, he glared at the envoy with an unfriendly expression. What kind of wretched places were those? What value did they hold? He was utterly dissatisfied.

The envoy was stunned, then felt a wave of powerlessness. Who among those aspiring to become the strongest wouldn't care about that legendary place? Everyone longed to ascend there!

"This information is worthless!" Chu Feng declared, preparing to strike a fatal blow.

"Wait a moment!" the envoy shrieked, terrified. "The strongest must refrain from going to the Heavens, because the world and lands we inhabit possess no true permanence. Everything we perceive will disintegrate, everything that exists will eventually dissipate. It is constantly decaying, transforming into ruins."

Chu Feng looked at him and said, "Then tell me, what exactly is the Heavens? You've given me so many 'some say's, but those are just rumors and utterly unreliable."

The envoy opened his mouth, his nerves taut, and felt a wave of helplessness. His clan was powerful, but their knowledge was indeed limited.

Ultimately, he had to state it directly: it was a path leading to the Heavens. However, throughout history, no one in their clan had ever succeeded in traversing it.

Furthermore, their knowledge came only from fragments of jade slips and tattered skull-bone books they had found along that path.

All of this was the dying testimonies of beings who had perished on that path, and their personal deductions.

Chu Feng was momentarily speechless, feeling an urge to spit in his face.

"You believe the words of a bunch of failures?" he scoffed. "They didn't even make it up there themselves!"

Upon hearing this, the envoy felt a wave of embarrassment. That was indeed the truth.

"Actually, the credibility is still very high," the envoy explained. "Beings of that caliber, even if they failed and died on the path, had, after all, reached the peak of power. Perhaps they had already touched upon something to be able to make such conjectures."

"How many such paths are there?" Chu Feng asked.

"Only one," replied the envoy. "We guard it together with several other clans. Occasionally, we can explore and unearth some rare celestial treasures there. Only the strongest races can approach and possess them."

The envoy prattled on like a string of popping beans, divulging everything he knew and was able to disclose.

Chu Feng sighed, "So, after all this, you're just scavengers, picking up scraps, digging up an ancient path that has been broken for countless civilized eras, excavating shattered artifacts and relics from beneath the earth."

The envoy was speechless. What else could he say? Strictly speaking, that was indeed the case!

"Is there a secret incantation that can open the gate on that path?" Chu Feng asked.

This time, it was the envoy who wanted to spit in Chu Feng's face. What was he thinking? Was he imagining that chanting "Open Sesame" or "Heavens, open!" would unlock that broken path?!

He truly wanted to douse Chu Feng with... no, with Divine King's blood. The envoy felt a little lightheaded from his intense indignation. Even his clan's progenitor couldn't enter; such immense divine power had lingered on that path for many years, yet could find neither the way nor the gate.

"How do people in the Heavens cultivate? What do they rely on for evolution? Seeds?" Chu Feng asked.

He had always wondered about the origin of his three seeds, and now he somewhat suspected they might have fallen from the Heavens.

Through the ancestral imprint given to him by Heavenly Venerable Yu Shang, he discovered that the three seeds had an astonishingly profound origin. They had once resonated with a certain Mother Qi Cauldron of All Things, vibrated with a bronze coffin, and then shattered the void before departing.

The cauldron was one thing; it was likely a weapon of some Heavenly Emperor. But there were seemingly three bronze coffins, linked to the strongest beings of different eras!

The three seeds actually had such an ancient history, spanning an unknown number of civilized eras.

Yet, they were merely seeds, plant-based and not metal, yet surprisingly incorruptible. They had endured for an incredibly long time and never decayed.

Chu Feng held high hopes for the three seeds. He would soon need to use them, and he was determined to uncover their secrets.

The envoy said, "On that broken path, a fragmented jade slip was unearthed. It mentioned that evolution through pollen is very important. In the Heavens' system, this was a crucial branch, and its civilization was once incredibly brilliant! However, for some unknown reason, as if something was missing, it gradually declined."

After hearing this, Chu Feng crossed his arms and said nothing, his mind wandering.

Nearby, Ying Zhexian and the veteran from the Pseudo-Immortal clan were both lost in thought upon hearing this. This greatly differed from the fragmented information they had received through special channels.

Based on what they knew, the realm above the heavens was already terrifying, but now it seemed similar to the mortal world, still a far cry from the Heavens.

"Is there anything else special?" Chu Feng asked. "Have you ever seen any artifacts that fell from the Heavens onto that path?"

He harbored suspicions about the three seeds and sought answers.

The envoy felt dizzy, muttering inwardly. If such artifacts truly existed, his clan would have ascended to the Heavens long ago. What would they still be doing searching and excavating the broken path?

However, he soon remembered a stone wall. Every time the setting sun shone upon it, a blurry pattern would appear, subtly moving.

"Yes, there is," the envoy confirmed. "On the broken path, there's a stone cliff said to have fallen from the Heavens. Every time the setting sun shines upon it, it appears to be bleeding, and a coffin emerges, like a ferry meant to carry people away across a crimson ocean."

However, no one could fully comprehend it. If anyone tried to extend their soul-light and enter the coffin-ferry on the stone wall, they would ultimately transform into a drop of blood themselves.

Chu Feng was dumbfounded upon hearing this. What kind of demonic stone wall was this, capable of such a feat with just a coffin pattern?

"No one has gone to that broken cliff for many years," the envoy said, "I don't know if it's still there."

As he spoke, his soul-light suddenly erupted with dazzling divine radiance. A mirror broke free from his soul and shone towards Chu Feng.

He suddenly counterattacked, striking with deadly intent, unwilling to remain shrunk to thumb-length and imprisoned within the Vajra Bangle's inner ring.

This was a prohibition of his clan, originally inscribed deep within their souls to prevent others from exploring their profound techniques. Now, he had activated it to kill his enemy.

This prohibition, left by a great figure, had transformed into a mirror, and the light it emitted was incredibly intense. Normally, any soul-light from other clans struck by its beam would melt like ice and snow and then vanish completely. The prohibition set by the clan's mighty figures was truly terrifying.

While dodging, Chu Feng unleashed heavenly tribulation across the sky, with countless lightning flashes engulfing the mirror's light.

At the same time, he activated the Vajra Bangle. It shone brightly and violently contracted. The envoy's soul let out a miserable shriek, completely turning into ashes. As he vanished, the mirror also disintegrated, for it had been attached to him, and with the envoy himself gone, the prohibition naturally ceased to exist.

With a crisp chime, the Vajra Bangle, as clear and translucent as jade, appeared in Chu Feng's hand, and he placed it on his wrist.

It was as white as jade, still as clear and brilliant as before.

It had absorbed Heavenly Blood Mother Gold and Starry Sky Mother Gold, yet its color remained unchanged, still as pure white as suet jade.

However, some patterns had appeared on its surface. These were the most mysterious Dao traces, from the other two Mother Golds, and most of the patterns came from the Mother Gold liquid pool!

Even a piece of ordinary iron thrown into the Mother Gold liquid pool could transform into a secret treasure, let alone Chu Feng's Vajra Bangle, which was formed from primeval Mother Gold!

The entire world fell silent. The two envoys from above the heavens were dead, slain by Chu Feng.

The old woman from the Pseudo-Immortal clan felt her hair stand on end. This was a Great Divine King; if he turned hostile, they would face dire consequences and struggle to survive.

Initially, she had placed her hopes on Ying Xiaoxiao, believing she was quite familiar with this Great Divine King.

But why was she so intensely uneasy now? The veteran from the Pseudo-Immortal clan sensed an incredibly strong killing intent, locked onto her and Ying Zhexian!

At this moment, Ying Zhexian finally moved. She raised her head, looked at Chu Feng, and walked towards him step by step.

She was indeed beautiful, with peerless grace. As her white robes fluttered in the wind, she appeared as if she had walked out of the Moon Palace, ethereal and otherworldly.

"Chu Feng!" she softly called.
