Chapter 1235: Ancestral-Level Showdown

"Monkey, do you think you can cover the sky with one hand?!"

The Nine-Headed Bird ancestor's eyes, like blood moons, reflected high in the sky. His face was as cold as an ice age as he gazed down, emanating chilling killing intent. A crimson light erupted from his body, like a falling, blood-stained galaxy, soaring towards Cao De on the ground with earth-shattering power. The might was astonishing; the void was torn apart, and endless red light filled the heavens and earth, resembling a crimson waterfall, pressing down on everything, then transforming into a sea of blood. This was the Nine-Headed Bird ancestor's unleashed vital energy! With a single thought, he could annihilate everyone on the ground!

The Six-Eared Macaque ancestor let out a soft cry, his eyes gleaming with surging golden light—a completely different kind of energy, masculine and domineering, like the burning essence of the sun. With a boom, it dispersed the blood mist. The Nine-Headed Bird ancestor's face grew even colder. He stared indifferently at the towering golden ape, who stood as tall as the sky itself. "Six-Eared, you still haven't gotten rid of your habit of meddling. Be careful not to get your face slapped!" he said icily.

The Nine-Headed Bird ancestor now appeared in human form, enveloped in blood mist and emanating chaotic energy. Seated cross-legged in the void, he looked incredibly terrifying. He possessed nine heads—one large and eight smaller ones—arranged side by side, making for a bizarre sight.

"Try extending even a single finger!" the old Six-Eared Macaque retorted, incredibly strong and dominant. Standing there, towering to an unknown height, his golden fur swayed, distorting the void itself! The energy within evolvers of this caliber was terrifying; if fully unleashed, it would undoubtedly shake heaven and earth.

The Nine-Headed Bird ancestor's face grew grim. Threatened repeatedly, what did they take him for? His direct descendant had been beaten to death, his heart crushed by a rogue cultivator. Now that he had appeared, how could he possibly back down?! "I'm just killing an insect; is it worth you stepping in for him? Six-Eared, if you want to sever the ties between our two races, then try to stop me. Don't regret it!" The old Nine-Headed Bird spoke coldly and indifferently. Then, his body surged with crimson mist, and chaotic energy churned as he prepared to attack.

Below, Chu Feng was indignant. This old man's words were truly unpleasant, calling him an "insect." Chu Feng desperately wished he could reverse time, become a titan, and slap him to death! He secretly prepared the Reincarnation Soil and the chopstick-length black wooden spear, ready to strike at any moment, seething with anger.

"I never regret anything! What nonsense! You hit the young, and the old come out. If everyone were as shameless as your Nine-Headed tribe, this battlefield would have long been in chaos. Come on, come on, let this old man see how you extend your claws!" The Six-Eared Macaque ancestor sneered, utterly forceful and domineering, disregarding the Nine-Headed Bird's threats. He stood there, golden light surging, stirring up the entire heavens and earth.

The Nine-Headed Bird ancestor erupted in fury. For how many years, apart from his youth, had no one dared speak to him so rudely? It was intolerable! Seated in the void, at human height, his nine heads trembled in unison, radiating crimson light. In an instant, terrifying energy fluctuations ripped through the high heavens. Above the battlefield, lightning flashed, thunder roared, and blood rain poured down—a manifestation of an ancestor's rage, appearing with his single thought. People were awestruck; this phenomenon was too terrifying. Near him, blood-colored lightning intertwined, more dreadful than a heavenly tribulation. The electrical light tore through the sky, and space itself was ripped apart. Even a Divine King venturing in would perish, their body and spirit utterly destroyed. In fact, as soon as his killing intent stirred, his attack began. With a mere thought, he could slay swathes of Saints. On the ground battlefield, countless Saints collapsed, feeling as if they would explode, their very soul lights on the verge of shattering. And this was merely the fringe effect, not a direct attack.

However, the old monkey was prepared. He sealed the battlefield, confined heaven and earth, and unleashed surging golden light that horizontally spanned the high sky, blocking the Nine-Headed Bird's crimson energy. Boom! The Nine-Headed Bird ancestor attacked. He remained stably seated, extending only his right hand to strike downwards. The movement was incredibly violent and terrifying. The hand rapidly enlarged, descending swiftly, crushing the universe as if to annihilate the world. Everyone's scalps tingled, feeling as though they were suffocating. This hand, emanating chaotic energy and blood mist, grew larger than a mountain. Descending from beyond the heavens, it was like a force pressing down on the entire cosmos, utterly dreadful. Normally, let alone a Saint like Chu Feng, even a Divine King would be easily crushed to death by this hand!

Boom! The old monkey moved. His right fist print was enormous, golden light soaring, tearing through the sky. He thrust a punch upwards to intercept the palm. The collision between them was a clash of fundamental rules, while the crushing force of their physical bodies could also destroy the sky. The destructive power was immense, normally causing many nearby living beings to perish horribly. Even with the complete suppression of the Yang Realm's laws, at their level, even a slight movement was enough to destroy countless lower-realm evolvers. Fortunately, they exercised restraint, fearing the dreadful scene of widespread carnage and rivers of blood. They were careful to control their strength and the order runes they employed. Otherwise, if they truly acted without abandon, allowing this battlefield to sink and all life to be extinguished, they would incur significant karma, and certain individuals would not permit it!

"Monkey, you're meddling!" the Nine-Headed Bird said grimly. From that strike, his vital energy churned, and his body swayed unsteadily in the void. It had been many years since he had fought the Six-Eared Macaque, and he was wary, as they had been formidable rivals in the past. Under normal circumstances, he was unwilling to provoke him easily. "This old man is going to meddle!" The Six-Eared Macaque ancestor soared upwards, his colossal body, as if cast from gold, charging towards the Nine-Headed Bird. "Boom!" The Nine-Headed Bird ancestor instantly transformed, becoming a colossal, sky-obscuring, crimson-bodied raptor. It was so massive that it covered the entire firmament, causing all living beings to tremble and shiver uncontrollably. Crack! A magnificent, gleaming great saber appeared in the old Six-Eared Macaque's hand, illuminating the sky. He slashed it towards the blood-colored fierce bird. It was a saber of order, not an ordinary weapon. The Nine-Headed Bird glowered, opening its mouth to spew crimson light—undoubtedly light of laws—to suppress its foe. It was now engaged in a life-and-death struggle with the adversary it had battled fiercely in its youth.

Boom! They collided violently, piercing through the sky and leaving vast swathes of chaotic energy. Then, they vanished together, having moved beyond the heavens to engage in a fierce battle. Otherwise, even with their restraint, they could have created a terrifying scene of mountains of corpses and blood surging across the battlefield, which other living beings could not withstand. Before long, crimson feathers, stained with blood, drifted down and then incinerated. The Nine-Headed Bird ancestor's roar echoed, so powerful that many felt their souls would explode. Fortunately, the entire battlefield was covered by a barrier of light, enclosing it and blocking the shockwaves from beyond the heavens. At this moment, not just others, but even Divine Kings were awestruck, lamenting the immense power gap. Even if they were to approach such a high-level confrontation, they would instantly perish. Beyond the heavens, a crimson glow stretched across millions of miles of the firmament. That terrifying beam of light incinerated the outer regions, making the entire sky appear as if stained with blood, with crimson light surging boundlessly.

The two clashed violently. The Nine-Headed Bird ancestor was wounded and utterly enraged, momentarily fleeing the battlefield to a distant place. "Nine-Headed, have some dignity in the future. Don't meddle in the disputes of the younger generation for no reason, or else you'll eventually die a violent death, and at the hands of your descendants, no less." The Six-Eared Macaque ancestor spoke, his voice like thunder, echoing far and wide. "Six-Eared, your tribulation will come!" the Nine-Headed Bird said coldly. He then charged back, revealing his true form, to battle the monkey beyond the heavens. Even from an immeasurable distance, terrifying visions were reflected: two beings, one golden and one crimson, fiercely entangled and violently colliding. In the end, the Nine-Headed Bird was sent tumbling, many of its crimson feathers cut off by the golden ape's saber of order. It roared with earth-shattering fury, blood flowing, once again heavily wounded. Behind the Nine-Headed Bird's head were nine divine rings, all imbued with the power of laws. Against others, they could directly suppress and destroy all things. However, when facing the old monkey, he felt somewhat powerless. Even with all nine divine rings trembling, they only managed to brush off some golden monkey fur, making the old monkey bare his teeth but causing no significant injury.

Boom! The old monkey's six ears vibrated in unison, listening to the opponent's soul sound and sensing his inner thoughts. He began to anticipate his enemy's moves, becoming even more formidable. Golden light streamed from his mouth, and order radiated from his eyes, as if possessed by a war lord. With a bang, in their final exchange, the Nine-Headed Bird ancestor was struck by the ape's golden palm, sent directly tumbling away, and then fell out of the heavens. With a flash of crimson light, the Nine-Headed Bird reappeared above the Saint encampment, having reverted to human form. He wore a winged robe, his hair disheveled, looking somewhat disheveled and his face ashen. In this initial engagement, he had been defeated. While further fighting might still offer a chance, at their level, unless they were determined to fight to the death, the outcome was considered decided, and it was time to cease.

"Monkey, you're good. Today you intervened for an ant. One day, I'll make you feel the pressure of the cosmic starry sea weighing down on you. Your Six-Eared Macaque race may not be able to bear it!" "Isn't it just the Eleventh Forbidden Zone? This old man is waiting!" The old monkey's eyes shimmered with golden light as he descended, standing firm on the battlefield, defiantly retorting.

On the ground, Chu Feng was asking Mitian about the true cultivation level of their ancestor. In fact, he also wanted to know how profound the Nine-Headed Bird ancestor's cultivation was. Being called an "insect" repeatedly that day had infuriated him, and he wanted to roast the Nine-Headed Bird ancestor in the future! "Heavenly Venerable!" Mitian informed him with a serious expression. Chu Feng was surprised. Not a Great Sage, just a Heavenly Venerable? This was somewhat unexpected for him. "What kind of look is that? What do you mean?" The monkey saw his expression and instantly grew displeased. He communicated with him secretly, saying, "Do you think in this world, which level of beings lives the most freely and can act without restraint? Normally, it's a select few Heavenly Venerables!" Most Great Sages were practically in a dying state; very few beings who reached that stage were still normal. They were all incredibly old, their bodies withered, and their life forces decaying. In fact, many Heavenly Venerables were also in a similar state, greatly aged. Only a small number still possessed surging vitality, remaining at the peak of their lives and able to act with impunity. Therefore, they became the most troublesome high-level threat for various races. Mitian sighed, "Actually, Heavenly Venerables rarely appear. In most cases, peak Divine Kings dominate the world, and their influence is already very significant." There were undoubtedly Great Sages within the Six-Eared Macaque tribe. However, they were truly not suited to appear in public unless the tribe faced a moment of life or death.

The Nine-Headed Bird ancestor glanced at Chu Feng, feeling extremely unwilling. Even though he had called Cao De an "insect," he was inwardly somewhat surprised, and even wary, fearing his future rise. This was because the young man was already a Great Saint, which was terrifying. If such a being successfully advanced, one day becoming a Divine King and transforming into a Heavenly Venerable, even he would feel dread. As is well known, Great Saints are unrivaled among their peers! The Nine-Headed Bird ancestor had to be wary, which was why he didn't hesitate to bully the junior and eliminate Cao De today. Unfortunately, the old monkey appeared directly, intervening and denying him that opportunity.

"Young man, I'll give you a chance. Come to my tribe to atone with a humble apology, and I swear I'll let bygones be bygones; I'll even take you as my disciple." No one expected the Nine-Headed Bird to say such a thing at the last moment. It was jaw-dropping; the change in his demeanor was too drastic. His tone had actually softened. At this level, generally, one would take their promises seriously. Since he said this, it meant he was giving Cao De an opportunity not to be killed. However, how could Chu Feng submit? The old monkey had stood up for him and already had a falling out with the other party. How could he possibly pledge allegiance to the Nine-Headed Bird tribe? So, he simply ignored him! Saying too many harsh words now was useless; he didn't have the strength. He merely turned his back, presenting the Nine-Headed Bird ancestor with the back of his head. Everyone showed surprise.

"Very well. To despise my Nine-Headed Bird tribe like this, Cao De, you truly are something, full of character, eh!" The Nine-Headed Bird ancestor's voice was chilling. "In the future, whoever brings Cao De to my tribe, I will take them as my closed-door disciple!" the old Nine-Headed Bird said sinisterly, radiating killing intent. "Is that interesting? Your tribe is truly shameless. Get lost!" the Six-Eared Macaque ancestor roared. The Nine-Headed Bird suddenly turned, his body wreathed in crimson light, his face bearing boundless killing intent. With a roar, he charged forward. Boom! After a final strike, the old Nine-Headed Bird vanished, leaving behind some blood-stained feathers that burned in the void. The Six-Eared Macaque ancestor's body also swayed, and a trickle of blood appeared at the corner of his mouth.

"Senior!" Chu Feng rushed forward. Mitian and the others were also very anxious, calling out, "Ancestor!" "It's nothing!" The old monkey waved his hand. Then, he looked at Chu Feng and said, "I look forward to your rise. I hope you can stand shoulder to shoulder with Li, become Cao the Dark Hand. Don't be a flash in the pan, or else I'll have severely offended the Nine-Headed Bird tribe today, and there will be great trouble." He seemed quite candid, directly stating that he valued Cao De's potential. Mitian was speechless. He knew well that his ancestor had indeed been candid in his youth, but his heart had darkened somewhat in old age, making it difficult to discern the truth behind many of his words. However, he believed that the ancestor held no ill will towards Cao De. Chu Feng's expression was solemn. "Is the Eleventh Forbidden Zone truly behind the Nine-Headed Bird tribe?" After a slight pause, he added, "From now on, leave it to me!"
