In the lobby, the security guards had all retreated, clearly eager to escape immediately. Meanwhile, attractive female evolvers provided meticulous service, immediately helping Old Gu check into his room.
Inside the building, various precious decorations were dazzling. For instance, a painting of a great roc spreading its wings hung on one wall. Upon closer inspection, the frame actually contained a specimen of a golden-winged roc. Its golden feathers were resplendent, and runes faintly appeared, making it truly extraordinary.
It was fine not to look closely, but once you did, a sharp aura assailed you. The golden roc claws seemed capable of crushing one planet after another.
Next to it was a bonsai, a ten-thousand-year-old red-rock pine. It was gnarled like a coiled dragon, yet less than two meters tall, exuding an imposing presence.
Every casual sight was extraordinary.
"Let's go!" Old Gu said calmly, gesturing for them to lead the way.
Two tall, very beautiful women, both with purple hair smooth as silk and always bearing sweet smiles, led the three to a crystal platform. With a flash of divine light and a whoosh, they were instantly teleported away.
They arrived at the top floor, in front of a very luxurious room, which was precisely the Ancestor-level suite Old Gu had requested.
The two women stopped, while Old Gu led Chu Feng and Dong Dahu into the room.
"Please send up a cosmic brain," Old Gu instructed the two women before closing the door.
His and Chu Feng's internet-enabled communicators and other devices had been destroyed during their battle on the overseas island and had not yet been replaced.
Upon entering, Dong Dahu was immediately stunned and utterly shocked. Not to mention the rich spiritual energy that assailed him, the sheer space alone left him dumbfounded.
This was no mere room; it was an entirely separate world, a true grotto-heaven!
The so-called Ancestor-level suite appeared to be a single room, but its interior was vast, with stone arch bridges, babbling spiritual springs, pavilions, and shimmering jade-green lakes.
"Oh, Old Gu, you really have connections! This display is astonishing," Dong Dahu exclaimed. "It's just a guest room, yet it contains a world of its own, a grotto-heaven!"
"Bumpkin," Old Gu scoffed, "this is far inferior to my guest rooms back in the day."
"Who's a bumpkin? How dare you speak like that?" Dong Dahu retorted, unconvinced. "Who knows what you were like in prehistoric times?"
"Back then, the rooms I stayed in contained splendid realms, vast landscapes of mountains and rivers," Old Gu continued. "I had celestial maidens from top Daoist traditions as companions. Even the ornamental koi in the ponds were God-King level. When I hosted a top-tier banquet, we'd set up Heavenly Dragon barbecues right amidst the magnificent rivers and mountains, catching Azure Luan to steam and boil..."
"Would you die if you stopped bragging?" Dong Dahu said, yet he couldn't help himself. He swallowed with a gulp; casually barbecuing Heavenly Dragons and roasting Azure Luans was indeed an unbearable temptation.
"Just facts!" Old Gu replied calmly.
"You guys, the first generation, truly lived much better than the second generation," Dong Dahu said enviously.
"The empire I built myself, am I supposed to save it all for raising children, for the second generation to squander?" Old Gu said without even raising his head, sitting on a chair beside a jade table, its back draped with a divine tiger skin.
"Damn it, this hotel is outrageous! They really don't know how to do things. They actually have a tiger skin spread here?!" Dong Dahu exclaimed.
"Alright, stop yelling," Chu Feng interjected, stopping him. "It's better to just listen to Old Gu brag!"
"I'm not bragging. This was my daily life back then," Old Gu said dismissively.
Heavenly music filled the air. Someone requested an audience from outside the grotto-heaven, which was the room's exterior.
The cosmic brain was delivered. The woman presented it respectfully with both hands.
Old Gu said, "Alright, you may leave now. Send the Dragon Liver and Phoenix Marrow feast quickly. Also, bring a few bottles of ten-thousand-year-old immortal brew, and hurry up with the true holy maidens."
The woman looked troubled and reported softly, "Dragon Liver and Phoenix Marrow are out of stock. We genuinely don't have any, only sub-dragon and sub-phoenix species. In fact, we haven't served a true Dragon Liver and Phoenix Marrow feast for many years."
"How disappointing. Go ahead," Old Gu said. "Sub-species it is. Though a bit rough, we'll just have to make do and eat. I'm truly hungry."
Hearing Old Gu's impatient tone, the woman quickly bowed and gracefully withdrew.
"I'm just quietly watching Old Gu subtly show off there." Dong Dahu, sitting on a crocodragon-skin armchair, squinted at Old Gu and asked, "Old Gu, you're putting on quite a show. What if you can't keep it up soon and it all completely collapses?"
Old Gu glanced at him and said, "This is merely the coarsest food and lodging. How is that showing off? You don't understand the glory and dominance of the prehistoric first generation back then."
Chu Feng said, "Alright, Old Gu, if your persona collapses later, just think about how to escape. You've already bragged excessively, so we won't try to stop you!"
"Stop talking, let me quietly check some information!"
Old Gu activated the cosmic brain and then logged into some very obscure interfaces. Ordinary evolvers clearly wouldn't know about these dark forums.
He was searching for information, looking for the organizations he had left behind in the past. With each sigh, Old Gu's expression grew a little dim.
He saw some records, all of which were now considered history. They recounted how glorious certain organizations had been in the past and how they had vanished into dust.
"I left behind thirteen organizations back then," Old Gu murmured. "As a result, ten of them had already been annihilated, and two were never even mentioned, seemingly destroyed even earlier."
Old Gu was saddened, his face filled with sorrow; this was not an act. He was thinking of some people and events from the past.
"Old Gu, you left behind so many organizations back then, you must have been incredibly wealthy and powerful!" Dong Dahu exclaimed in awe. He knew that Old Gu's organizations were definitely not ordinary.
"Please don't underestimate the abilities of sworn brothers of old," Old Gu replied proudly. "Back then, I was also a hegemon, my peerless demeanor once illuminated the Yang Realm!"
Dong Dahu genuinely didn't know what to say. Upon reflection, Old Gu's words made sense. Given his status, he must have indeed shaken the Yang Realm and stood supreme over the world back then.
"Weren't there thirteen organizations? You mentioned twelve. What about the last one?" Chu Feng asked.
"I'm looking... Hey, I found it! Heavens, there's still one organization that hasn't been annihilated, and it's quite powerful in the dark world now!" Old Gu became emotional, and then, surprisingly, tears welled up in his eyes, sparkling with crystal clear drops.
These organizations held some of his sentiments from back then, and his sworn brothers were also part of them. Suddenly discovering that one organization still existed made him both excited and sad.
Perhaps the original leader of that organization was still alive? Chu Feng couldn't be sure, but he hoped his old comrades were still in the world, waiting for his reunion!
Dong Dahu said, "Wow, this is a prehistoric organization! After such a long time, it still exists in the world. It's a living ancient history! Old Gu, what are you waiting for? Quickly contact them! Then we can also become revered ancestors!"
Old Gu shook his head and sighed softly, "Human hearts are most prone to change; one must be wary. I also hope some of my old comrades are still alive and remember me, but for safety's sake, caution is still necessary. Ah, life!"
He fell silent and continued to look up information on that dark forum, researching the organization.
After a long time, Old Gu nodded, a faint hint of joy on his face. "Alright, it's not bad. We can use their power!"
Chu Feng asked, "What are you researching? So many years have passed, and you don't dare to contact them directly. How will you use them?"
Old Gu said, "I'm checking their reputation, to see if they're still upholding the rules I set back then. Hmm, very good, they're all perfectly fulfilled."
Dong Dahu also shook his head, saying, "Forget it. As you said, human hearts change easily. Even if they followed your rules back then, they've probably forgotten them in this era."
Old Gu said, "I'm referring to recent times, whether they've still been upholding the rules in recent years. It's quite good."
"Ah, what rules did you set that they're still following even now?"
Hearing this, Old Gu took out four different tokens from a dark spatial bracelet: one glowing purple, one shimmering with white light, one flowing with red radiance, and one completely black.
"I told them back then that no matter how many years passed, whoever saw these tokens had to uphold the rules, and they could collect the token once the task was complete."
Old Gu had intentionally given away some of these tokens back then. Even as ages passed, one would occasionally be unearthed, and when found and presented to the organization, they still honored the agreement.
"Did everyone know about these tokens back then?" Chu Feng asked.
"Some forces knew about these tokens, but no one knew that the organization was mine," Old Gu said.
Dong Dahu said, "So you mainly prepared for your own return? You were afraid those organizations would grow too powerful and turn against you, so you created some tokens with a hidden purpose?"
"Mhm," Old Gu nodded calmly.
"But you only prepared four tokens? You can only command them four times? That's too few, isn't it?" Dong Dahu asked greedily.
However, the next moment, he realized he had underestimated Old Gu's shamelessness, which was a hundred times more greedy than his own.
With a clang, Old Gu pulled out a large pile from his spatial bracelet, at least four or five hundred tokens.
Chu Feng and Dong Dahu were both dumbfounded. This Old Gu really was... incredibly well-prepared!
"The material is quite special, and my elder brother helped refine them. No one can imitate them. These are enough for me."
"Yes, yes, yes, more than enough!" Dong Dahu cried out excitedly. He put an arm around Old Gu's shoulder, calling him a kindred spirit.
Old Gu put away the pile of tokens, leaving only a single black one, the most inconspicuous of the four types.
"What effect does issuing this token have?" Dong Dahu asked.
"This is the lowest-tier among the four types of tokens. I wouldn't dare to use the higher-tier ones," Old Gu said.
"I'll first summon eight God-King bodyguards," Old Gu said as he scanned the token with the cosmic brain. After uploading it, he entered some commands into a specific interface to contact the organization.
Shortly after, he received a reply and nodded, "It's done!"
Even Chu Feng gasped, and Dong Dahu was utterly dumbfounded. The lowest-tier token among the four could directly summon God-Kings, so what about the highest tier?
Thinking about it carefully, Old Gu really couldn't use the highest-tier tokens.
"Actually, unless absolutely necessary, I wouldn't dare to use the second-highest tier either," Old Gu said, adding, "You don't need to worry about the gladiator arena. Once those God-Kings arrive, I'll have them handle the negotiations."
"This time, we're really going to take off! It seems those ominous premonitions won't come true after all," Dong Dahu said, pleased. He then cried out in glee, "From now on, we'll roam the world freely, unchallenged in the Yang Realm!"
Someone came to ask for instructions, saying, "Most esteemed guest, the Dragon Liver and Phoenix Marrow feast is ready. Uh, are you sure you still want true holy maidens to pour the wine?"
"You have a problem?" Old Gu squinted at him.
"Well, it's like this: it's truly difficult to invite holy maidens from top evolution sects. However, there's a banquet being held in the hall on the 999th floor downstairs, with holy maidens and direct descendants from various races. Perhaps we could try asking them?"
Before Old Gu could respond, Dong Dahu interjected, saying, "Yes, you can! If you can find a way to summon that Ying Zhexian to pour wine, I'll richly reward you!"
