A group of people were preparing to welcome Mo Feng, the young Human King of the Desolate Race, upon his emergence from seclusion. Shi Huang was particularly excited.
Boom!
Within the blood-red waterfall, dense bolts of lightning struck Chu Feng's body, one after another. Lightning burst from his seven orifices, and he felt as if he was being roasted alive.
The terrifying power of the lightning was astounding. Even among the most formidable Golden Body cultivators, let alone ordinary ones, few could have survived; a single bolt was enough to reduce any creature at this level to ashes!
Chu Feng was convulsing from the electricity coursing through his entire body, trembling uncontrollably, feeling both exquisite pain and intense pleasure.
Even his bone marrow was filled with electric currents, and his eyeballs pulsed with crackling electricity. The sensation was indescribable!
He cursed, thinking how sinisterly powerful this lightning was. Was this truly a tribulation for humans? It felt like a death trap, designed solely to obliterate him. Though it seemed to be nearing its end, it simply refused to conclude.
This Heavenly Tribulation was far more immense and terrifying than any he had encountered in the Lesser Netherworld or the Foreign Land. It was catastrophic, clearly intent on crushing him.
"Is this ever going to end?!" he roared, as thick black smoke, along with arcs of electricity, billowed from his mouth and nose—a sign of severe bodily damage.
His very bones were exposed and charred black, and his flesh was shriveled and peeling off in places, a truly gruesome sight.
Crackle, rumble...
Above his head, the blood-red waterfall cascaded down, interwoven with lightning. Disaster continued to pour forth, accompanied by thunderous roars, as if declaring, "This old man conquers with virtue!"
Chu Feng could barely endure it. If he had any strength left, he would have pointed at the heavens and unleashed a string of curses. Was this tribulation trying to torture him to death?
His blue blood was almost completely dried up, and his bone marrow felt thoroughly cooked. Chu Feng was in a pitiable state, with no end in sight to his suffering. How much longer would this last?
"Brother Mo Feng is truly awe-inspiring," someone exclaimed, greatly astonished. "He's only eleven or twelve, yet he's undergoing such a Golden Body tribulation. I feel he's as strong as, if not stronger than, any historical figure!"
Someone else sighed in deep admiration and shock.
Shi Huang nodded and said, "Considering who Brother Mo Feng is, coming from the Desolate Race with the Human King bloodline, carrying the secrets of his ancestor within him, and having the Human King's blood flowing as a continuation of his ancestor's life, how could a core disciple like him not be powerful?"
Chu Feng was tormented to within an inch of his life, utterly exhausted and barely able to bear it. This type of tribulation could only be endured passively; there was no escape.
Clang!
He even threw out the Heavenly Blood Starry Sky Mother Gold Dagger, hoping to conduct the electricity and divert the lightning. It had some initial effect, but in an instant, the lightning surged back towards him, as if an unseen entity was watching him, the thunderbolts seemingly sentient, chasing him down to strike.
Chu Feng was defiant, refusing to believe in evil. Since he couldn't escape, he called out hoarsely, "Come on, come on! This young master feels incredibly comfortable, floating in bliss, about to ascend! What a truly grand enjoyment in life!"
Finally, six beams of lightning descended upon him, their blinding light cooking his bone marrow with electric energy. Then, abruptly, the area went dark.
All the lightning vanished suddenly, and the Heavenly Tribulation ceased.
Chu Feng truly didn't want to move. Like a dead fish, he laboriously dragged his body and propped himself up on a distant, heavily scarred cliff face to rest.
The Northeast Tiger immediately darted over, very worried. "Brother, are you alright?" he called out.
He poured his pot of Meng Po Soup into Chu Feng's mouth, hoping to help him heal his injuries.
"I'm fine, there are plenty of benefits," Chu Feng said, enduring the pain. He sat cross-legged and began circulating his breathing technique, knowing that surviving the tribulation meant immense gains.
The lightning contained destruction but also vibrant life force. Within his parched body, a special lightning glow pulsed, emitting a rich aura of vitality.
Chu Feng recovered rapidly, his body crackling. A layer of old skin peeled away. He took out his own Meng Po Soup and drank deeply; it was truly a powerful tonic, the most beneficial supplement.
Soon, Chu Feng's body began to glow, blue light radiating from within. With a boom, his bone marrow shone like dazzling, burning stars, constantly surging and regenerating.
Next, his dried blood began to reappear, flowing more and more abundantly throughout his body, like the arrival of a rainy season. His blue Human King blood revived, stronger and richer than before.
At this moment, he felt an incredibly potent power and a complete surge of vitality.
After an unknown period, Chu Feng's injuries were completely transformed. His body was brimming with vitality, and his Human King blood was even more formidable than before, as azure as the sky.
However, once he calmed down and made a certain adjustment, his blood slowly transformed back to its vibrant red color.
"According to Mo Feng, Human King blood can undergo a second transformation, changing color and becoming even more powerful. Will the blue blood in my body turn a different color in the future?"
Chu Feng pondered this. He had fully recovered, his physical and mental state better than ever, reaching the pinnacle of power within the Golden Body realm.
His Golden Body shimmered with an astonishing blue radiance.
"He's alive again! He's alright. I need to hurry and go into seclusion," said the Northeast Tiger. He didn't want to waste this rare opportunity and cherished his time.
Old Gu hovered nearby as well. Having just helped guard Chu Feng, he now left Mo Feng with Chu Feng and began his own seclusion.
Not far away, some people arrived, all smiling, coming to offer congratulations.
"Congratulations, Brother Mo! To undergo tribulation at the Golden Body realm, rivaling historical figures, is truly an achievement worthy of the annals!" someone chuckled.
"Brother Mo Feng, successfully completing your hunt and then undergoing the Golden Body tribulation, your name is destined to echo through eternity..." Shi Huang arrived, exaggerating his praise, his face beaming with a wide smile as he shouted.
However, the very next moment, all the smiles on his face froze, and his voice abruptly cut off.
Whose back did he see? That rogue young cultivator!
He felt as though he had been hit over the head with a club; his mind went blank, and the words in his mouth were all swallowed back, choking him until his face turned red and his neck swelled. It was utterly unbearable.
Shi Huang stumbled, feeling like he wanted to vomit blood.
How could it be that rogue cultivator? The sight, the outcome, made him stare with wide, disbelieving eyes. He simply couldn't accept it.
Everyone else was dumbfounded, and those who had accompanied Shi Huang were equally stunned. The place fell silent, not a sound to be heard; the scene was too bizarre.
They saw Mo Feng, hanging on the ruined cliff face in front of the young rogue cultivator, resembling a piece of charred wood, half-dead, and actually prostrate at the young cultivator's feet.
This utterly shocked them. That was a direct descendant of the Desolate Race! He had failed his hunt and was instead captured and subdued, now like a lump of mud!
Instantly, many thoughts rushed through their minds. All their previous assumptions were wrong; this outcome was truly cruel, striking them like a bolt of lightning, almost charring them to a crisp.
"You... you're trying to kill a member of the Desolate Race, you've killed Mo Feng?!" someone cried out, their face pale and contorted.
Shi Huang, in particular, was ashen-faced. If Mo Feng truly died here, when it came time to settle accounts, he wouldn't be able to escape, as he was the one who instigated the attack.
"Ah, that's the Heavenly Blood Starry Sky Mother Gold Dagger! He's... Ji Dade?!" someone shrieked, recognizing the dagger stuck into the cliff.
Many knew that Chu Feng had taken this sword during the Dragon's Nest conflict in the Borderlands. Clearly, some of the participants from back then, now grown from children to youths, were present.
Chu Feng rubbed his face, concealing his true appearance, and turned around. He felt he had miscalculated; after the tribulation, he had been so focused on recovering that he didn't have enough time to put away the Mother Gold Dagger.
However, it wasn't a big deal. Ji Dade was merely one of his aliases; it wouldn't reveal his true identity.
"Ji Dade?"
"That's right, my name is Ji Dade. No matter who I fight, I always conquer with virtue," Chu Feng declared, facing the crowd.
"You dare to strike such a wicked blow? This time, you're dead for sure." Shi Huang wasn't angry; instead, he started to laugh, realizing that Mo Feng's elder brother was also in the blood-red waterfall, just above them.
He turned and ran, quite decisively. However, Chu Feng found him utterly obnoxious. Transforming into a streak of blue-gold light, he pursued Shi Huang and, with a boom, sent him flying, spewing mouthfuls of blood. Just one strike was enough to demonstrate the immense power of his Golden Body.
"Quick, go report to Mo Lei and ask him to intervene!" Shi Huang shouted.
Mo Lei was above them, a Divine King. When he learned his brother was in such a wretched state, captured by someone, he would surely rush over to deliver a fatal blow.
Shi Huang shouted this for his own survival, fearing Chu Feng would slaughter him there and needing Mo Lei to save him.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...
The few people who had come with him, all his close associates, fled, rushing upwards.
Chu Feng couldn't stop them all; some escaped, while others were left bleeding and near death from his attacks.
Boom!
Almost instantly, Mo Lei appeared, arriving directly. His face was icy. His younger brother had actually been defeated here while hunting humans?
This was unthinkable! Their clan, claiming to be a branch of Human Kings, defeated by a rogue human cultivator?!
"Release him!" Mo Lei's face was grim. He was already enraged by the disturbance to his enlightenment, and seeing his brother's wretched state made his expression even fouler.
If the blood-red waterfall hadn't cut off his senses, he would have surely detected it immediately and never allowed such a thing to happen.
Now, his younger brother had become a prisoner of a human youth, captured. If this got out, it would be utterly humiliating, a true disgrace.
Chu Feng stood ready for battle. He had originally intended to escape, but Mo Lei was too fast; he hadn't had time to flee.
Moreover, he felt that the organization wasn't reliable. Where was the promised protection? Why hadn't anyone appeared? No one came out!
Left with no other choice, Chu Feng held Mo Feng with the Heavenly Blood Starry Sky Mother Gold Dagger pressed against his forehead. At the same time, he held the Overturning Seal in his other hand, with Old Gu cooperating perfectly.
"Dare to resist? You seek death!" Mo Lei snarled.
He was a Divine King. Crushing such a minor cultivator would be effortless for him, even if the opponent had captured his brother. It wouldn't hinder him much.
In an instant, he unleashed his domain, intending to imprison Chu Feng. For a minor rogue cultivator, threatening him with his brother was utterly useless; there would be no chance to deliver a fatal blow.
Boom!
At the crucial moment, Old Gu moved. The Overturning Seal, thrown by Chu Feng, erupted with Divine King-level energy.
Mo Lei's Divine King domain was shattered, failing to encompass Chu Feng and thus failing to imprison him.
In the distance, the heavily injured Shi Huang and his companions frantically retreated, leaving the area and hiding deeper within the blood-red waterfall. If the Divine King-level energy were to spread, they would undoubtedly suffer greatly.
If not for losing this enlightenment opportunity by leaving the blood-red waterfall and being unable to re-enter, they would have truly wanted to get away completely.
"It's fine, the blood-red waterfall can block the spread of Divine King energy. Only that small area is dangerous. We'll wait here. That... Ji Dade, he's dead for sure!"
Shi Huang gritted his teeth. He felt as though he had the worst luck imaginable today. First, he was beaten and humiliated himself, then he asked Mo Feng of the Desolate Race to retaliate, only for things to go wrong again. Nothing was going his way.
What reassured him was that a Divine King was now intervening, with Mo Lei having appeared. Surely, that rogue cultivator was doomed, with no chance left.
"Hmph, a bit of skill. That's a Sky Gold Stone Coffin, forged into a secret treasure. Is there a corpse inside? It holds some secrets!" Mo Lei's expression was frosty as he looked down at Chu Feng. "How do you wish to die?!" he added.
He didn't even acknowledge Chu Feng and Old Gu. As a Divine King-level cultivator of the Desolate Race, even if not entirely unrivaled among his peers, few beings could contend with him.
The Human King bloodline was terrifyingly boundless!
He wasn't afraid of Chu Feng killing his brother. He was confident he could stop it, and even if that so-called Overturning Seal had some trick to it, he was certain he could suppress it.
"This young master is doing quite well and has no intention of dying!" Chu Feng beckoned the Northeast Tiger over and tucked him into the stone jar.
"A lowly ant-like bloodline dares to be insolent before a Divine King of the Desolate Race? I'll crush you with one foot and leave your lingering soul to be a lamp wick, burning for a hundred years!"
Without hesitation, Mo Lei brought his foot down. His sole expanded, intending to crush Chu Feng alive. At the same time, he extended both hands, dealing with Old Gu while also attempting to retrieve his younger brother.
"Get over here and die!" His foot glowed, forming a purplish-red vortex that sought to pull Chu Feng in, intending to imprison him and crush him to death, forcing him to end his life in the most humiliating way.
"This young master will kill you first!" Chu Feng roared.
Naturally, anger burned within him. So what if he was a Divine King? So what if the Desolate Race was so lofty? He would do everything in his power, using all his trump cards, to fight to the bitter end and eliminate his opponent.
