Chapter 1123: Eternal Invincible Body

Chu Feng stood motionless, listening intently. Some people, who were simply observing the Time Furnace, unexpectedly heard this sound! The particularly deep black finger marks on his hand were eerie, making his skin crawl as if a malevolent ghost had clawed him. Yet, he had felt nothing earlier, not even a slight sensation. They only became visible, emerging from within the stone jar, which was quite unsettling. Of course, his primary concern now was what this sound was trying to convey.

"The one whom Heaven cannot bury, interred amidst the floating earth of the Four Poles. Chop the Yin and Yang as two fuels, ignite the fire of the Great Void, draw in the flames of the Ancient Cosmos, and burn!"

This passage repeated several times, accompanied by a very blurry and indistinct figure. It was a creature, not clearly discernible, but it appeared to be covered by a certain type of earth, with flames rising from it. The more it burned, the more dazzling and sacred it became, emitting a radiance that seemed eternal!

Chu Feng remained motionless, simply watching. However, that so-called brilliance was merely a fleeting flash. He couldn't discern the creature at the center; it was too dazzling. His spiritual power was insufficient to approach, and even with his Fiery Golden Eyes, he couldn't look directly; the intense glare prevented him from seeing any specific details, causing sharp pain in his pupils.

The sounds ceased, and the flames and creature vanished completely. The stone jar returned to silence.

Chu Feng awoke and looked at his right hand. All the black finger marks had vanished, as if purified and completely erased.

"How bizarre... what exactly is going on?" Chu Feng began to ponder. That passage, in particular, left an indelible impression on him. It seemed... extremely significant?!

"Is the 'Floating Earth of the Four Poles' a specific type of soil, or four distinct, unfathomable kinds of earth, or perhaps soil originating from the 'Four Poles' region?" Too many questions swirled in Chu Feng's mind. "Are 'Yin and Yang as two fuels' literal, meaning two actual types of firewood, or figurative, simply referring to the concepts of Yin and Yang?" He pondered each sentence, considering its meaning. There seemed to be an inexplicable power within these words—was it meant to create someone, or to destroy them?

Clearly, both the Fire of the Great Void and the Flames of the Ancient Cosmos were the primary energies used for incineration. These two types of flames were most likely exceedingly rare and valuable. At the very least, Chu Feng had never heard of them, even after traveling from the Lesser Netherworld to the Yang World.

Chu Feng lifted his right hand, now free of the black marks, from the stone jar. Next, he glanced at his left hand, which was fair and slender, before carefully dipping it into the stone jar filled with Reincarnation Earth. Sure enough... black finger marks appeared on this hand too! This hand had also touched the Time Furnace!

However, the marks on his left hand were slightly fainter, not as terrifyingly black. Chu Feng looked surprised. Was there a difference? Both hands had touched the small furnace for roughly the same amount of time; it shouldn't have been like this. He pondered. Could it be that his left hand had remained outside, allowing the black marks to gradually fade on their own, without needing the Reincarnation Earth to erase them?

"Yes, that must be it!" Chu Feng nodded, confirming his hypothesis. According to legend, those who have come into contact with the Time Furnace throughout history would not suffer misfortune or harm, provided their exposure was brief and did not exceed a certain number of years.

At that moment, the cold, mechanical, rigid, and emotionless voice from within the stone jar echoed once more, repeating the earlier words. Simultaneously, Chu Feng again witnessed a creature buried amidst the floating earth, then consumed by fire, followed by a sacred radiance that seemed to tear through the eternal night, transcending all, truly elevated above all else!

Shortly after, the black finger marks on Chu Feng's left hand faded and then completely vanished, and the eerie sounds and visions naturally disappeared as well.

"Old Gu, have you heard of the Floating Earth of the Four Poles?" Chu Feng asked.

"What on earth is that?" Gu Chenhai asked, surprised. He claimed he had never heard of such a thing. This implied that he hadn't heard the sound from the stone jar. Even at such a close proximity, he remained completely oblivious to the terrifying events that had transpired.

"Yin and Yang as two fuels, you must have heard of that, right?" Chu Feng asked again, with an air of assuming it was common knowledge.

Old Gu's face flushed red, as he genuinely hadn't heard of such a concept. He feigned disdain, retorting, "Firewood? Why bother categorizing it as Yin and Yang? That's just being pretentious!"

Chu Feng then asked, "Can the Fire of the Great Void and the Flames of the Ancient Cosmos be ranked as the first and second most powerful fires in the universe? Can they be considered supreme in the Yang World?"

"You little rascal! You dare to spout nonsense after inventing a few terms? Do you really think I'm a fool? Go play in the mud and stop trying to deceive me!" Old Gu looked as if he saw right through him, standing there with an air of disdain. In reality, he was mortified with embarrassment. He didn't recognize any of these strange names; he had never heard of them before.

Chu Feng was awestruck, his heart trembling. These keywords were unknown even to Old Gu, an ancient demon who had survived since prehistoric times. Such an unprecedented lack of knowledge suggested that these things were far from simple, and finding them would likely be extraordinarily difficult. He vaguely sensed that this was a matter of immense significance!

For a moment, various thoughts swirled in his mind. Could the so-called Floating Earth of the Four Poles be the soul-flesh, the very earth of the ultimate land of reincarnation? After all, Li had once searched for it all over the world!

Of course, what Chu Feng considered the most serious and terrifying aspect was the overall meaning of that passage: was it a method for forging oneself, for refining a body that Heaven cannot bury, or did it imply the exact opposite? If this were an incantation, an ultimate body-refining technique, it would be absolutely priceless. With a body that Heaven cannot bury, who in this world—even including the cycle of reincarnation—could ever destroy it?

"The creature I saw seemed to have voluntarily laid down there, and was then burned?" Chu Feng mused. Could this truly be an ultimate method, a supreme body-refining scripture, where finding those few elements would allow one to achieve an eternal, indestructible body? Chu Feng pondered, increasingly convinced that it resembled a secret teaching. What was even more intriguing was its adherence to the principle of ultimate simplicity, expressed in just a single passage.

"But if I consider it from another perspective, this passage becomes quite frightening," Chu Feng mused.

The one whom Heaven cannot bury, submerged amidst the floating earth of the Four Poles, chopping the Yin and Yang as two fuels...

This passage could be interpreted as a guide to cultivating that supreme physique. However, it could also be understood as a step-by-step process to eradicate the one whom Heaven cannot bury, using the subsequent substances to destroy them. If interpreted this way, it wouldn't be a body-cultivation technique but a method of immolation—the burning of an ultimate corpse!

Chu Feng instinctively wiped his forehead, finding a trickle of cold sweat. If this were true, then the Time Furnace was, in fact, a cremation furnace. The moment this possibility occurred to him, he felt a wave of unease. What an ominous artifact it must be, with so many people still vying for it, and he himself had even handled it, holding it and rubbing it in his hands. Chu Feng couldn't help but shiver, feeling a deep repulsion at the thought of touching something that might be a cremation furnace. He vigorously rubbed his hands, wishing he could scrub off a layer of skin.

"It really might be a cremation furnace after all!" The more Chu Feng considered it, the more plausible it seemed. At the very least, the furnace itself was inauspicious. Throughout history, every owner who had worn it for an extended period had met an unfortunate end; all of them had perished. Furthermore, he had personally experienced the appearance of terrifying black finger marks on his hand just recently—it was truly unnerving! Moreover, the emotionless, cold, mechanical, and rigid voice also sounded like part of a ritual. Was this, then, a "burial ground" for incinerating important figures? He felt deeply uncomfortable, his skin crawling as if a swarm of ants had swarmed over him. Chu Feng was utterly repulsed, vigorously shaking his hands as if he could jump into a great river to cleanse himself.

"Actually, if one looks deeply enough, it's still a body-forging technique after all," Chu Feng finally sighed. If it were an incantation, a secret transmission, then that would be clear. If it were a cremation furnace, representing a ritual for destroying the corpses of the most powerful beings and the conditions required for such a feat, then it would imply a truly horrifying method. If someone could genuinely use this process to temper their body and endure it, they would undoubtedly transcend and become truly supreme. Of course, if it were the latter scenario, it would necessarily be a gradual process. One couldn't simply endure a fierce self-incineration from the start; it would be more like a "slow simmer," allowing for gradual adaptation. As for refining a grand physique, if it came down to such a process, he found himself feeling quite repulsed by the idea.

Considering this, that passage becomes extremely important. If this path truly proves viable, it could indeed lead to the achievement of an eternal, indestructible body.

Chu Feng returned, wanting to re-examine the situation. Many people were gathered around the Time Furnace, clustered into groups based on age, familial ties with various clans, and other affiliations. For instance, many young talents, all renowned and from powerful evolved lineages, gathered around the girl who resembled Lin Nuoyi. It was clear that even the girl strikingly similar to Lin Nuoyi was very courteous towards them, indicating that some of these individuals held high status and boasted impressive backgrounds. At the very least, Chu Feng noticed men who had transformed from divine birds and women from ferocious beasts among them, all of whom were exceptional.

"There are even Golden Crow evolvers, are they pure-blooded? And a woman transformed from a White Tiger—that's quite astonishing!" Chu Feng exclaimed in surprise. The Golden Crow youth, who seemed to be a top young figure within his clan, was surrounded by many. He glowed with brilliant golden light, clad in a golden feather robe, and exuded a vibrant, heroic aura.

On the other side, Ying Wudi arrived. Upon seeing him this time, Chu Feng finally noticed that his face was no longer dark, but fair and clean. Chu Feng felt a slight pang of annoyance. Previously, whenever he was with the Ying sisters, Ying Wudi's face would frequently darken. This "symptom" had apparently cleared up. However, he quickly realized he had been mistaken. As a crowd surrounded Ying Zhexian, marveling at her beauty and approaching to flatter her, Ying Wudi's face promptly darkened again.

This group of people was truly not to be trifled with; even the Quasi-Immortal Clan might not be able to completely subdue them all. Some of these youths had remarkably formidable backgrounds. For example, a red-haired youth, appearing to be in his twenties, drew significant attention and was mentioned by many, as he hailed from the Alien Wild Human Race! Legend has it that this clan possesses extraordinary talent. When its progenitor separated from humanity to establish their own lineage, they achieved profound mastery, bequeathing to all their descendants an innate purplish-red celestial blood!

Nearby, other groups of powerful young experts had formed their own small circles, all conversing jovially. Undeniably, some individuals were at the center of attention, receiving compliments, and indeed possessed a brilliant aura, immense strength, and profound backgrounds. An example was the white-robed Buddhist Son of the Buddhist Clan, who exuded an otherworldly air with a halo around his head. Furthermore, several ancient families, whose legacies had persisted from prehistoric times and remained continuously prosperous, also made an appearance. Descendants from these clans arrived, with the men being handsome and the women exquisitely beautiful, all becoming focal points.

Chu Feng didn't join them. Instead, he queued up again. Despite his repulsion, he wanted to examine the Time Furnace once more, to thoroughly investigate its secrets. He wanted to see if holding it for a longer duration would yield different sounds, as he genuinely desired to refine an eternal, indestructible body. Although he knew this was a pipe dream, he couldn't completely dismiss the possibility without trying. In any case, he possessed Reincarnation Earth, so he wasn't afraid of being entangled by misfortune.

Upon closer inspection, only a few people remained near the Time Furnace, mostly elders; the younger individuals had all steered clear.

"Are there really people who aren't afraid of death?" someone remarked with a light chuckle, gesturing towards Chu Feng. "Look, that fool went over again!" Immediately, all eyes converged on him.

At this moment, the girl who resembled Lin Nuoyi spoke up. "This Time Furnace is inauspicious. After touching it, you should quickly meditate and circulate your breathing technique to expel all energy from your body and then re-gather it. Furthermore, it's best not to touch it a second time." She had privately mentioned this to several people earlier, so those nearby were generally aware. Now, she was reminding Chu Feng.

"Thank you, little fairy," Chu Feng nodded, expressing his gratitude. Then, he pointed to the well-connected youth in the distance who had just scoffed and mocked. "You, come here," he commanded.
