Chapter 1090: Wind and Clouds Disperse

The Human Realm is on the brink of chaos. On the primeval land, countless heroes will bleed, and many peerless beauties will turn to dust. A monstrous wave is about to be unleashed on the path of evolution.

The end of one era marks the beginning of another.

The great struggle for supremacy has begun. Even ultimate beings may continuously fall. A panorama of blood and bone will unfold, symbolizing the countless prodigies who will compete. In this era, marked by life-and-death duels between overlords, blood and souls will serve as ink, and tumultuous years as paper, revealing a magnificent, blood-stained scroll of a vibrant age.

Many are destined to perish. Renowned champions of various races and exceptional talents on the path of evolution may become mere dim, bloody streaks in this unfolding scroll, serving only as background.

Everyone present grew restless, knowing they would soon go their separate ways. The future was undeniably cruel, and the prospect of facing each other in life-or-death battles on the battlefield filled them with a sense of melancholy.

“The wind sighs, the Yi River is cold; a brave man departs, never to return…”

Chu Feng began to sing, as if performing a pre-emptive soul summoning, which felt inauspicious for the occasion.

The Human Realm also had poems similar to the Yi River Song, and he sang one loudly in the Human Realm language, bidding farewell to everyone.

The group was immediately speechless. "Is that how you send people off?" they wondered. "Doesn't that just make things more unsettling?"

"Brave man, have a good journey!" Chu Feng shouted loudly, especially when bidding farewell to Li Jiuxiao. His face was truly solemn, as if he were just short of scattering paper money for the dead.

Li Jiuxiao's face twitched slightly. He turned back, walked directly towards Chu Feng, and stared intently at him. His mood was terrible, as he had a strong premonition that the Li clan would not align with the Ji family, nor support the individual from Yongzhou. This meant he might eventually face God-King Ji Caixuan in a life-or-death battle on the battlefield.

"Alas, he’s a sad man too," Chu Feng sighed, recognizing Li Jiuxiao’s bitter mood.

"What are you saying?!" Li Jiuxiao demanded coldly.

Chu Feng sighed deeply. "We are both lost souls, Old Li," he said. "The woman you loved is right before your eyes, yet later we might have to meet her on the battlefield, fighting to the death. Do you think either of us could be in a good mood?"

For a moment, Li Jiuxiao’s heart grew even colder. He completely ignored this self-proclaimed love rival who had forcibly inserted himself into the situation. Thinking of his ten years of unrequited love and persistent pursuit, his heart grew increasingly bitter.

What made it even more desolate was his premonition that he and Ji Caixuan would inevitably face each other one day amidst the sweeping forces across the primeval land, and one of them might have to die. This bitter love, like fading flowers wilting on their own or flowing water that never returns, left him disheartened and heartbroken, his eyes red.

Chu Feng was stunned. This Li Jiuxiao truly was a romantic, still wallowing in sentimentality at a time like this. Were his few words really that impactful?

As for those about to depart, they all paused, watching God-King Li. A considerable number of them felt sympathy for him.

They knew that the Li clan and the Ji family were not very harmonious, and it would be difficult for the two aristocratic families to support the individual from Yongzhou simultaneously.

Chu Feng stepped forward, jumped onto the jade table, and patted Li Jiuxiao’s shoulder. "The girl we chased all those years," he said, "let her go with the wind."

Everyone: "..."

Ji Caixuan: "…!?"

Li Jiuxiao, who was still steeped in sorrow with bloodshot eyes, suddenly looked up sharply upon hearing those words, wanting to slap Chu Feng down.

You Yu's eyes widened. She desperately wanted to ask, "How many years ago were 'those years'? Were you even born yet? What nerve! Truly worthy of being Ji Quede."

Li Jiuxiao turned around, his God-King aura surging forth. He strode towards the distance, refraining from attack. With one last glance at Ji Caixuan, he departed.

In the shadows, the Fourth God-King of the Human Realm from five hundred years ago, wearing a stone mask, took action. He blocked the ocean-like energy, wiping away and calming all traces of aura.

"They're gone!""Everyone, take care!"

In an instant, like wind and clouds scattering, everyone set off on their own paths, leaving the area.

Ji Caixuan was still there, not having left yet. She stared at Chu Feng, looking him over repeatedly.

"Fairy Caixuan, what do you mean by this?" Chu Feng called out to the beauty in front of him, now standing on the stone table, finally no longer having to crane his neck to look at people. "Is the Ji family trying to arrange a marriage with me, so I’ll support the individual from Yongzhou? No problem, I’m not very picky. Whatever you have in mind, just come at me!"

A slight ripple of emotion appeared on Ji Caixuan’s radiant and exquisitely beautiful face, and her eyes gleamed with a sharp light.

The maid beside her also glared at Chu Feng, wishing she could grab him and beat him severely. Unfortunately, this was the Gray Trading Zone, where even members of the Ji family had to obey the rules.

"A great wind rises, the clouds fly high; our might spreads within the four seas, and we return to our homeland…" Chu Feng turned around, singing loudly, looking very heroic.

However, once he got onto the donkey cart, his heroic demeanor seemed somewhat out of sync with his conveyance.

On a divine magnetic platform, Chu Feng dropped two pieces of Heaven Gold Stone. He then nervously looked back repeatedly before quickly and casually inputting a coordinate.

He rode away in the donkey cart, disappearing from the Gray Trading Zone.

After an unknown period, Chu Feng emerged from the spatial tunnel, extremely cautious. He held a stone coffin in front of him and looked left and right repeatedly.

"You little rascal," the stone coffin grumbled, "first you use me as a donkey cart, then as a shield. Can you degrade me any further?"

"Let me think about it next time!" Chu Feng replied brazenly, without any remorse.

At the same time, he let out a long breath. This was a desolate hillside, with no one around.

"That's impressive!" he exclaimed. "Crossing several states at once! Have we arrived in Qin Prefecture?!"

Soon after, Chu Feng caught a mountain rat spirit and learned his whereabouts. He had traveled across six states, from Wu Prefecture, where the Gray Trading Zone was located, all the way to Qin Prefecture.

What to do now? He needed to find the most famous mountains and great rivers, and also consider which forbidden areas were accessible. He intended to find an immortal cave to cultivate himself and begin formal seclusion.

He did not wish to emerge for ten years.

"Old Nine, give me some advice," Chu Feng said, knowing that this prehistoric old monster surely understood the world’s mountains and rivers.

"This matter requires caution and more investigation," the coffin replied. "Consider that even a netherworld has appeared in a forbidden area, and black mist has surged in recent years. After such a long time, who knows how much the Human Realm has changed? Furthermore, famous mountains and great rivers can change with shifts in the underground ancestral veins. The renowned mountains and rivers of the past are not necessarily the supreme sacred lands of today."

"Before leaving the Gray Trading Zone, I suggested throwing out message bottles to thoroughly understand all this, but you deliberately stopped me," Chu Feng said, slapping the coffin lid hard. "Now you tell me you don’t fully understand the current Human Realm either? What do you suggest we do?"

The Nine Netherworld Being ignored him. "What a joke," it thought. "If I go throw message bottles again, I won't even need to come back. I might as well just sink the coffin directly into that lake."

"Alas, it seems I’ve stayed too long in the Great Wilderness," Chu Feng sighed. "I’m quickly becoming a savage. This is the Human Realm; it has a brilliant technological civilization and is networked. I'll just find a prosperous area, go online, and gather all the information I need, right?"

Chu Feng shook his head. He then steered the donkey cart, following the directions of a cat spirit he had captured along the way, towards a major city in Qin Prefecture.

"How truly strange," he murmured.

As Chu Feng drove rapidly across the vast land, he felt deeply moved. He clearly saw six-winged demon tigers soaring across the sky and crimson fire oxen capable of smashing mountains, presenting a primeval scene. Yet, he also witnessed spaceships crossing the sky and warships traveling afar.

Technological civilization and divine-demonic civilization coexisted—contradictory, yet somehow… harmonious!

He witnessed a fierce battle, especially when he passed a mountain that pierced the clouds like a sharp sword.

A black divine ape lay hidden on that mountaintop, concealed in the clouds and mist. When it saw a supply transport aircraft crossing the sea of clouds, it suddenly leaped up. With a rumble and a shower of electrical sparks, it struck down the large aircraft!

"Standing on the highest peak and shooting down aircraft—that's truly domineering," Chu Feng exclaimed.

He then fled, steering the donkey cart far away from that area, heading west towards what he imagined would be a bustling metropolis.

Of course, the donkey cart would have to be left halfway; it couldn't possibly enter the city.

Is technological civilization secondary here? How is it that everything I’ve seen along the way consists of monsters, fierce birds, and savage beasts, while divine-demonic civilization seems far more prominent?

In fact, even without the immediate necessity, Chu Feng wanted to find a modern city to understand the conditions in various parts of the Human Realm through it.

Finally, he arrived. At the end of the land, countless steel behemoths seemed to stand. Was this a modern city of the Human Realm?

Building after building, all incredibly tall—towers thousands of *zhang* high and landmark structures tens of thousands of meters tall—were constructed from special materials, gleaming with a metallic luster.

The buildings were numerous, densely packed, and astonishingly tall. From time to time, spaceships took off from the tops of skyscrapers thousands of meters high, soaring into the night sky.

Neon lights flickered as darkness fell, but the entire city was just beginning to come alive. All sorts of lights illuminated the area brightly.

"Huh, why is there a flood dragon wrapped around that skyscraper thousands of meters high?" Chu Feng exclaimed in surprise. A white flood dragon was coiled around the massive building, from its base all the way to its top.

Furthermore, on top of another ten-thousand-meter-high building, he saw a Golden-winged Great Peng, its golden wings glowing, its entire aura imposing.

"Isn't this a modern city?" he wondered. "How can there still be so many divine-demonic creatures?"

Above the city, a two-winged demon ape was battling a giant bat, fighting fiercely under the night sky.
