Chapter 1075: Pit

"You look familiar?" Chu Feng shivered. Did this mean he had been swindled out of another handful of Reincarnation Earth?

Chu Feng wanted nothing more than to rush into the golden rift space, drag out that mechanical monster, and beat it to a pulp for repeatedly swindling him.

Still, he kept his composure. He glared at the stone coffin, wondering if that scoundrel, Nine Nether Immortal, was deliberately talking nonsense and stirring up trouble for no reason.

The mechanical voice declared, "Ignorance! This is the ultimate evolution scripture. How dare a mere corpse speak so presumptuously? You simply don't understand!"

It lectured Nine Nether Immortal, and in the process, also scorned Chu Feng.

Nine Nether Immortal rattled the coffin, making clanging noises. "Who are you scolding?" it demanded. "How dare you put on airs with this old man? Do you even know who I am? Are you tired of living?!"

The mechanical voice retorted, "I won't waste more words on a mere specter like you. This scripture page holds profound mysteries that no one, throughout history, has ever been able to fathom. It is truly a supreme method."

Upon hearing this, Chu Feng's face instantly fell. "No one can comprehend it?" That sounded ominous. It was probably just a piece of waste paper. Had he been duped by that damned mechanical monster again?

However, Nine Nether Immortal didn't immediately retort. Instead, it looked stunned, then cried out, "I know! It's actually a supreme mystery from the primordial era!"

What was going on? After being scorned and belittled, it actually acknowledged and admitted that this was a supreme scripture?

Was this a reversal? Chu Feng looked confused, thinking he might have truly acquired a priceless scripture. A wave of excitement surged through him as he looked at Nine Nether Immortal and asked, "Are you sure?"

Nine Nether Immortal froze. "What are you thinking?" it yelled. "You've been fooled by this mechanical monster!"

Without a word, Chu Feng began kicking the stone coffin. *That scoundrel's acting is terrible, isn't it? It just cried out that it was a supreme mystery. Now it wants to deny it? Does it really think I'm so easily fooled?*

"Stop! It's a misunderstanding! Let me explain!" Nine Nether Immortal urgently pleaded.

"My elder brother practiced this scripture, and he did say it was an ultimate method. But by the end, even with his advanced state of mind, he was so furious he cursed like a sailor!"

"It's nothing but a deceptive method!"

"Don't be fooled by its impressive legend; in reality, it has significant flaws. Practicing it will only lead to trouble!"

Nine Nether Immortal's frantic shouting finally gave Chu Feng a general understanding of the situation. This scripture page was indeed very famous and widely considered a world-shattering text.

However, many who practiced it eventually gave up.

Some practitioners felt nothing, others encountered major issues and were forced to abandon it, and some even nearly died during practice.

Chu Feng was quite surprised by this revelation. Could this be the very method the Mad Martial Artist was searching for?

Nine Nether Immortal immediately denied it, explaining that in the prehistoric era, this scripture page had circulated widely within certain circles and was by no means an exclusive, secret teaching.

Many prominent figures had even practiced it.

Hearing this, Chu Feng was so incensed he felt smoke might come out of his nose. He was absolutely furious. It was just a common piece of text, yet he'd been swindled out of a handful of Reincarnation Earth by that rotten mechanical monster!

"Damn it, you! Come out here and return my soul-flesh! I want a refund!" He was utterly beside himself with anger.

He was always the one doing the fooling, but today he'd been duped by a mechanical monster. This was intolerable!

"Watch your words, lest you regret it for the rest of your life!" the mechanical voice warned. "Though scriptures may circulate outside, the original master text is here."

The so-called master text was the very page radiating golden light and swirling with blood energy; this was the original version!

"Don't listen to its rambling nonsense! The original version contains the exact same teachings; there's no difference. Even my elder brother couldn't master it, so who else in this world could?!"

The more Chu Feng listened, the darker his expression became. He felt like a complete sucker, thoroughly swindled.

"Failure to master it is a personal failing, not a flaw in the scripture. Furthermore, how do you know your elder brother didn't succeed?"

Nine Nether Immortal countered, "If my elder brother had mastered it, with his steady and dominant nature, why would he privately curse like a sailor? He was absolutely beside himself with rage!"

Chu Feng, his face grim, demanded, "Return my soul-flesh!"

"Once a transaction is made, it cannot be refunded!"

Upon hearing this, Chu Feng felt like he would vomit blood. This accursed place, this wretched mechanical monster—was it really just an inanimate object, like an energy inheritance tower?

It felt more like an ancient demon! He was seething with rage.

"If you don't return it, we'll leak the secrets of this place!" Nine Nether Immortal threatened.

Chu Feng nodded. "Exactly," he said. "I'll go find the Mad Martial Artist and have him attack this place again!"

The mechanical voice, emboldened, replied, "Go ahead and find him. Without soul-flesh, no one can activate the golden rift space and enter here. It would be useless for anyone to come."

"But I have soul-flesh! I'll lend it to him!" Chu Feng, in a fit of rage, slapped the coffin lid, making loud thudding sounds.

"Lend me some too!" Nine Nether Immortal shamelessly demanded, seizing the opportunity.

At this, the mechanical voice fell silent.

"Give me back my soul-flesh, now!" Chu Feng threatened.

After a moment of silence, the mechanical voice spoke, "You may choose another scripture page, as a free gift."

"The third page!" Chu Feng chose without hesitation, determined to reclaim some benefit first.

A golden, paper-like sheet flew towards him, seemingly formed from energy and covered in symbols. It merged with his glabella, containing another breathing technique, which was instantly imprinted in his spiritual consciousness.

"With this, we are even!" the mechanical voice declared.

With that, the golden rift space rumbled and began to close.

"Wait a minute, let's talk this over!" Chu Feng called out, still wanting to properly communicate with it.

However, the golden rift space closed even faster, as if avoiding a plague, seemingly unable to tolerate him any longer, fearing more outrageous demands.

"Everything is negotiable! Why are you in such a hurry?!" Chu Feng shouted. He genuinely felt a sense of urgency, still hoping to communicate and learn more.

However, with a flash of golden light, the space completely sealed off.

Chu Feng was momentarily speechless. He hadn't done anything to provoke it, so why had it fled so decisively, severing all contact with the outside?

"It knew you were trouble the moment it saw you, so it fled decisively!" Nine Nether Immortal gloated.

"I've obtained three pages of the Dream Ancient Path breathing technique, but how far can I cultivate with them?" Chu Feng frowned, feeling a bit uncertain about the situation.

From the Netherworld, the mechanical voice replied, "These three scripture pages correspond to the God-King level, bordering on the Heavenly Venerable realm. Should you require subsequent chapters, you may return here to trade in the future."

Nine Nether Immortal immediately exclaimed, "See? It's a blatant temptation! It's still planning to swindle you. It won't rest until it tricks you out of all the soul-flesh you possess. Just like you, it's no benevolent entity!"

"What are you talking about?!" Chu Feng snapped, kicking over the stone coffin.

A moment later, they returned to the surface. Chu Feng called over the donkey spirit and re-secured the stone coffin in the carriage.

"Giddy up!"

He drove the spirit carriage, disappearing over the horizon.

"Kid, are you planning to go into seclusion for thirteen years?" On the road, Nine Nether Immortal, feeling quite displeased at being sat upon, couldn't help but ask Chu Feng out of curiosity.

Since getting into the carriage, Chu Feng had been sitting cross-legged, silently pondering throughout the journey, appearing preoccupied and lost in thought.

"Don't disturb me!" Chu Feng said, as dense clusters of light appeared around his body. These were all miniature versions of himself, each three inches tall, sitting cross-legged in the void and circling his true form.

"You're actually practicing it?" Nine Nether Immortal exclaimed, surprised.

"I think I've mastered it!" Chu Feng said gravely.

With a "clack," Nine Nether Immortal's jaw in the stone coffin dislocated. It was too stunned to utter a word!
